Chapter: Hidden Revelations

Jazmine stared at the bathroom mirror, her heart racing as she tried to process the news that had turned her world upside down. The small, pink test on the counter confirmed her fears—she was pregnant. Anxiety twisted in her stomach as she thought about how to tell Huey. He had always been the one with the plan, the one who thought critically about their future. This was something he might not be ready for.

As she left the bathroom, she resolved to keep it a secret for now. Maybe she could figure things out on her own before breaking the news. She tossed the test into the trash, hoping that would be the end of it.

She scheduled an appointment at a clinic, telling herself it was just to talk. But deep down, the thought of abortion loomed large. She felt a knot in her stomach at the idea, but fear overshadowed everything else. How would Huey react? They are so young, Jasmine being 21 and Huey only being 22. They just got established in their jobs and new home, how could they possibly throw a baby into the mix.

After the appointment, she sat in her car, gripping the steering wheel tightly, tears streaming down her eyes. It was official, they were fucked. The doctor confirmed her worst fears. She is 6 weeks pregnant. She just stares out the window, lost in thought.

For days, Jazmine wore a mask of normalcy. She continued with their daily routines, joined him in his discussions about social issues, and even participated in their usual outings. But inside, her mind raced with worry. How would he react? Would he be angry? Disappointed?

One evening, while Huey was taking a shower, Jazmine took the opportunity to clean the kitchen, avoiding his gaze. But her heart sank when she heard the unmistakable sound of crumpling paper.

"What the fuck is this?" Huey's voice broke through her thoughts, filled with confusion.

Jazmine froze. She turned slowly to find him holding the pregnancy test wrapper, his brow furrowed. "Jazmine, what the fuck is this?"

Her stomach dropped. "Huey, I—"

"Don't 'Huey' me! You've been hiding this?" His voice was firm, and Jazmine could see the disappointment etched on his face.

"Were you going to tell me? Or just hide it forever?" His voice was sharper than she anticipated, the disappointment palpable.

"I was going to tell you!" she shot back, defensiveness creeping in. "I just didn't know how!"

"Oh yeah? When? When you were 9 months pregnant?" he retorted, frustration boiling beneath the surface. "This is a huge deal!"

"I know it is!" she yelled, tears pricking at her eyes. "But I'm scared! I don't know what this means for us, for our lives!"

"Its not just about you Jazmine!" Huey shot back, "this is my child too? Did you ever stop to think about how this would affect me, a child is a big responsibility"

"Who said we are even keeping it!" Jasmine shot back angrily

"wha-, what did you just say?" Huey said with wide eyes and a shocked expression

"oh shit, I am officially fucked." Jasmine thinks to herself as she stares at Huey's expression

Before Huey could respond, the doorbell rang, cutting through the tension like a knife. Jazmine's heart raced again. Who could it be?

Huey shot her a look, his eyes filled with a mix of frustration and concern. "You want to get that?"

Jazmine hesitated; the weight of the moment still heavy. "Maybe it's just a delivery…"

Huey moved toward the door, but Jazmine's instincts screamed that this interruption was anything but ordinary.

A/N hi guys welcome to my first ever fanfic, I hope you all enjoyed. I've been reading fanfics (especially the boondocks) since I was a little girl, and I've always wanted to make my own. I decided to push my fears to the side and finally do it. I just love boondocks and hate to see that its fanfiction is dying down, so I hope to revitalize it. I promise to make future chapters longer and to update let me know what you think!
