"Come on, Jak! Wait for us!"
In the humble little town of Sandover Village, three young boys, all roughly seven years of age, were running through the nearby forest. One boy was gracefully jumping through the trees while the other two were following him on the ground.
The boy running through the trees was Jak, a young lad with sharply pointed ears, bright blue eyes, and greenish-yellow hair. On the ground were his two best friends; Daxter and Ben.
Daxter had pale blue eyes, red, orange, and yellow hair, and two overlong front teeth that stuck out over his lower lip, yet somehow didn't interfere with his speech Like Jak, he also had sharp pointed ears. As for Ben, he was quite tall, easily towering over Jak, who was respectfully high on the height chart himself. He had curly black, red, and silver hair and a pair of glasses over his hazel-brown eyes. Unlike Jak and Daxter, his ears were smaller and rounded.
The trio had been friends for as long as they could remember. Daxter often came up with crazy ideas for them to try, Jak was the one who talked them all into following through on those crazy ideas, and Ben was regrettably the one who got dragged along half the time without his consent. But then again, he was grateful that his friends kept him busy.
"You said there was something awesome up here, Dax?" Ben asked once he'd caught his breath.
"The last time it was 'something awesome', it turned out to be a view into Maia Acheron's bedroom while she was changing," Jak pointed out. "We nearly got scorched when she spotted us, and I still don't understand why that qualified as 'awesome'."
Maia Acheron was one of a small group of people in the area studying different types of Eco, the planetary energy that fueled everything throughout the world, though she and her older brother Gol apparently were focusing their studies on Dark Eco, despite Samos' advice to them not to, stating that it was incredibly dangerous, though refusing to explain further. As a result, that advice was ignored.
Daxter shrugged. "Okay, I thought it was pretty awesome until we started dodging fireballs. Still, I think you'll both like what I've come up with today a bit better."
Jak and Ben followed the direction of his gaze. To their surprise, the rooftops of the houses below them seemed to continuously slope downwards towards the beach, with somewhat narrow gaps between each roof, with the next roof slightly lower than the previous one before the slope began.
"Doesn't that look like an awesome sledding course? Wonder how strong the roofs are?"
Smirking, Jak walked over to a nearby large, dying tree, yanking off three large segments of bark that were still pretty sturdy, he passed them out.
"Let's find out!"
"Come on, guys! I let you get away with a lot of stuff but I'd rather not potentially risk dying here!" Ben argued.
"Ben...you know you only live once," Jak said, as he and Daxter gave expectant looks.
"Alright...Fine! The things I do for you guys..."
"Hey, I understand your fears, buddy," Daxter said. "That's why I got us makeshift parachutes in case things go horribly wrong!"
After setting up their parachutes on their backs, the three leaped onto their makeshift boards and down the slope, skating down the rooftops which just so happened to be sturdy enough to support them, doing flips and tricks as they jumped from one rooftop to the next. For the most part, the three were laughing in exhilaration, enjoying the mini-adventure.
Eventually, they made it to the bottom without any harm whatsoever, though Ben had to get over his shaking knees as he took a few deep breaths to calm his heart from the adrenaline rush he just gone through.
"See? Nothing to it!" Daxter breathed in relief.
"I heard you screaming the loudest, buddy." Jak chuckled as Daxter huffed and slugged his shoulder in response.
As the three friends prepared to head back, they suddenly noticed something strange in the sky; a glowing rift of prismatic energy sparkling brightly.
"What the heck? Could it be an alien invasion?" Ben guessed.
"I should hope not!" Daxter gulped, hiding behind Jak and Ben.
However, the rift suddenly shot out some kind of comet and then immediately sealed itself back up. The trio watched as the comet sailed overhead before crashing onto the beach, making them jump slightly at the close proximity before looking at each other.
"Should we check it out?" Ben asked.
Jak shrugged. "Might as well."
"Are you guys crazy?!" Daxter asked but his friends were already moving ahead as he groaned. "Of course you are!"
The three soon came across where the comet had impacted, the sand surrounding the area having been superheated into crystalline glass. The boys carefully approached the crater and slid down effortlessly thanks to the smooth surface, finding what looked like a large basket that one would normally leave a baby at a doorstop in. Whatever was inside was covered by a thick, cozy-looking blanket.
As they got closer, the boys saw six symbols stitched onto the blanket; an eight-pointed star, a balloon, an apple, a thunderbolt, a diamond, and a butterfly. There was something wriggling inside and, curiosity getting the best of them, they took off the blanket.
What was inside were six infant humanoid figures with vaguely equine-like features, such as short rounded noses that resembled muzzles, legs ending in hooves, tails coming out of their backsides, elf-like ears, and all of them being female in gender. However, that was where the similarities ended, each of them had different features to distinguish them from the other.
The first had lavender purple skin, violet hair with a magenta stripe, a spiral horn coming out of her forehead, and a pair of feathery wings attached to her back that were neatly folded. The second had bright pink skin and dark pink cotton candy-esque hair. The third had orange skin with white freckles, light blonde hair in a ponytail, and wearing a brown cowboy hat. The fourth had rainbow-colored hair, cyan skin, and a pair of feathered wings. The fifth had marshmallow white skin, elegantly curled purple hair, a spiral horn on her forehead, and very effeminate eyelashes. The sixth and last one had butter-yellow skin with light pink hair and was curled up a bit tighter into herself, her feathered wings folding over like a protective shield.
"Baby...Horse People?" Daxter questioned as Jak and Ben looked at each other before one of the babies, the purple one, snorted and opened her eyes, looking curiously at the three large strangers looking down at her.
"What should we do, Jak?" Ben asked his friend, who bit his lip as one by one, the babies all woke up and looked up at the three boys.
"You're not suggesting we take 'em, do we?!" Daxter asked incredulously as Jak shook his head and gently picked up the basket with the babies still inside.
"We need to bring them to Samos. Maybe he can figure out what's going on."
As Jak headed back to the village, Ben and Daxter stayed behind a bit before eventually following after their best friend. Hopefully, the Green Eco Sage would be able to figure out what to do with the six little ones.
"Well, this is peculiar indeed," Samos said as he inspected the six babies, who were currently nestled in the crib once used by his daughter (and Jak's crush) Keira when she was a baby.
"Anything you can figure out, Pops?" Ben asked.
"The best I can come up with is that these six infants don't seem to have any Eco signature at all. Instead, they seem to be infused with something that I dare say is essentially MAGIC."
"Magic? Like pulling rabbits out of hats and guessing someone's cards kinda magic?" Daxter questioned.
"No, much more Euclidian than that." Samos clarified. "For the time being, I will look after them but I need your help to make sure they don't get into any trouble."
"What? No way am I playing babysitter!" Daxter complained.
"Come on, Daxter. Would you say 'No' to these little sweeties?" Ben cooed as he picked up one of the babies, the pink one, and held her out to Daxter.
Daxter did his best to resist as the pink equine infant girl happily held her hands out, bouncing in Ben's hold as if desperate to be let free so she could hug Daxter. After about...1.000000005 seconds, the boy caved.
"Oooooh, alright!"
"What should we name them, Samos?" Jak asked.
"Well, it appears they already have names from this note I found in the basket they came in," Samos noted as he handed the note to the boys.
Each name was next to a symbol that they had also seen on the blanket. Next to the star was "Twilight Sparkle", the balloon was "Pinkie Pie", the apple was "Applejack", the thunderbolt was "Rainbow Dash", the diamond was "Rarity", and the butterfly was "Fluttershy".
"There was also a message that said 'These six will bring harmony to you and those you cherish. Keep them close and raise them with love.'" Samos said.
"Well, I know Keira is gonna love 'em." Jak chuckled as he held Rainbow Dash, the cyan child, in his arms.
And so began the adventures of Jak and Daxter, with the addition of not just a third best friend but also six adorable little pony girls they raised and loved as their little sisters...who would soon prove to be more awesome than anything anybody could have ever anticipated.
This story is inspired by 'Sons of Damas' by Tatsurou. Give that story a read!
Instead of Shining Armor, the Mane 6 are raised as Jak and Daxter's little sisters along with the addition of another best friend named Ben. As is usual in my stories, there might be a few more crossovers sprinkled in for flavor but I'll try to stick to My Little Pony for the most part.
Hope you look forward to what I write next and be sure to give some ideas on what to do for the story that could change how the plots of the games go with the presence of more than just Jak and Daxter.
