In this chapter, the second challenge will begin.
Since Lake isn't competing, who will be eliminated this time?
Rosa Maria did take Lake's place…but that doesn't mean she'll be eliminated.
Chapter 3: Doing A Deep Dive
"In the last episode, the campers returned the animals to Disventure Camp. The yellow team lost and Miriam went home. What were the chances of the first season winner becoming the first boot?" asked Kristal.
One theme song later…
After losing the challenge, Alec decided maybe he needed to up his social game. If there was another elimination on his team he would have to be careful not to be targeted.
And chances are there would be one.
He decided that was where he went wrong the last time he had played.
Perhaps he could make an alliance.
But who should he choose?
Ally was playing on her Switch.
She considered herself lucky she wasn't in an alternate universe where Kristal wouldn't let her play.
Though she had burned her Switches in Season 2. Was Kristal a pyromaniac?
"Campers, get ready to report for the next challenge." spoke Kristal.
The three teams arrived on the scene.
As before, they were wearing their swimsuits. Because fanservice.
"The yellow team decided to vote off Miriam." informed Kristal.
Confessional: A moment of silence for Miriam. Well, she's not dead…but she is eliminated.
Jake: Miriam's gone? This makes me feel less motivated for the next challenge. At least she didn't end up being medivacked.
Ellie: It serves her right in my opinion. She got me booted because of that trick she played on me.
Tom: That's a shame. A lot of us were rooting for her in the finale of Season 1. It's a shame she ended up losing so soon.
"For the challenge, you shall be diving underwater and searching for a treasure chest. It matches the colors of the teams so you'll know which one belongs to who." noted Kristal.
"None of you are colorblind, are you?" asked Trevor.
The contestants shook their heads.
"Thanks for asking." noted Rosa Maria.
Confessional: I hope this show isn't diving in quality.
Riya: A diving challenge? This is not my lucky day. It's like the fear challenge from Season 1 for me.
Connor: I hope Riya will make it through the challenge OK.
Fortunately for Fiore, she had learned how to swim since Season 1.
Things did change in two years, after all.
Fiore noticed that her diving helmet was a bit too big.
"Don't you have a smaller size?" asked Fiore.
"Sorry, I forgot there was a child competing this season. But aren't you a little young to be on this show?" questioned Marcus.
"Aren't you a little old to be making references to cartoons?" asked Fiore.
"We're in a cartoon, aren't we?" questioned Marcus.
"Alright, you have a point." answered the girl. This cartoon wasn't designed for kids though. Even if it was based off of Total Drama.
Rosa Maria noticed her helmet seemed a bit too big.
"I just noticed that my helmet was a bit too small. What a coincidence." noted Rosa Maria.
"Again, my apologies." said Marcus.
Her head was kind of big.
"Let's switch!" exclaimed Fiore.
"Thanks." answered Rosa Maria.
Confessional: Coincidentally, I've written Phineas and Ferb fanfics. I don't know if you've read them.
Fiore: I was worried my whole team would hate me, but thankfully that's not the case.
Rosa Maria: I wonder why Fiore would want to shoot tranquilizers at nuns.
Unfortunately for the yellow team, having one less member than the other teams gave them a disadvantage.
And it didn't help that Riya was afraid of diving.
"Are you hydrophobic?" asked Grett. She was kind of the opposite personally.
"I'm fine with swimming, I'm just afraid of diving." explained Riya.
"Take a deep breath." instructed Alec.
"Thanks." thanked the actress.
Yul rolled his eyes. At least Grett had learned how to swim since Season 1.
The cyan team discovered a shark.
"Kristal made us do a diving challenge in shark-infested waters?! What was she thinking?!" exclaimed Ellie. She had done a fear challenge with a shark too.
"I don't know!" answered Gabby. They couldn't win the challenge if they were eaten alive.
The shark chased after Tom and James.
Luckily, it crashed into a cave wall.
Tom and James gave each other a high five.
Jake frowned.
Meanwhile, Ashley came up with a plan.
"I think we should split up in pairs." said Ashley.
"Won't that mean someone gets stuck with Fiore?" questioned Hunter.
Fiore rolled her eyes.
"I'll go with her!" exclaimed Rosa Maria.
"Your kindness is really something." noted Tess.
"I am good with kids." spoke the single mother.
"I'm glad someone is giving me a second chance." remarked Fiore.
"Hey, you burned our stuff!" exclaimed Ashley.
She couldn't just go around burning people's belongings. And she was pretty sure Ally would agree with her.
Also, she insulted her friend Lili.
Hunter decided to go with Tess, since his relationship with Ally was in a sour patch.
This left Ally with Ashley.
"I'm not sure if you want to play video games, since you're a cowgirl. But I have a spare Switch if you want it." noted Ally.
"I could give it a shot." said Ashley.
"Knowing you, I think you would enjoy Animal Crossing." acknowledged the girl with the glasses.
Confessional: Don't reset the game or Mr. Resetti will be very cross with you!
Ashley: I will admit I grew up at a farm, but I am willing to try out new things.
Ally: I wonder what she would think of Kirby. He wouldn't freak her out, would she?
Fiore: Thank goodness someone was willing to take my side.
As it turned out, Fiore was surprisingly good at finding clues.
Perhaps this challenge was meant for her.
Of course, she had done well in the last challenge…but she assumed she had failed.
"You're doing pretty well!" exclaimed Rosa Maria.
"Yeah…I didn't know I could be so good at challenges." remarked Fiore. Though she had dominated the first merge challenge with her alliance.
"I just hope you aren't planning to toss Ally's Switch into the fire. That already happened to her and it was not fun." said Rosa Maria.
"What were the chances?" asked the young girl.
"I don't think you would like it if I tossed your plushies into the fire." noted the woman.
"I suppose I won't do that to Ally. She is willing to defend me." spoke Fiore.
"Very good!" exclaimed Rosa Maria.
Confessional: Fortunately Fiore does not wish to watch the world burn. Just Ashley's belongings.
Fiore: Is this how Pinocchio feels, having someone else be his guide? Then again, my nose doesn't grow when I lie. Otherwise I would have never made it far in Season 1.
Rosa Maria: Seeing as we're on the same team I suppose I might as well get Fiore to clean up her act.
Fiore managed to find her treasure chest first.
"Let's just hope that we manage to finish the challenge before the other two." noted Fiore.
Rosa Maria nodded.
If they scored last place, Fiore just might have to scream.
The magenta team arrived on the surface.
"Congratulations, magenta team! You're the winners of today's challenge!" exclaimed Kristal.
"Yes!" cheered Fiore. She would not be going to the motel tonight, that was for sure.
Confessional: I sea that the purple team is doing well.
Ashley: Who would have thought Fiore could be so good at challenges? I still don't feel that she deserves the money though.
Fiore: We won two challenges in a row thanks to me? You might as well take me to the merge now!
Rosa Maria: Maybe if Fiore had more charisma she would have won Season 1. I feel like Miriam deserved the money though.
Hunter: Maybe Fiore does belong on this show.
Tess: Is it just me, or has my luck turned around ever since I joined this show?
Ally: Some underwater levels in video games can be a pain. But we won!
Despite the obvious handicap of Riya being afraid of diving, the team still scored second place.
"I knew we could do it!" exclaimed Connor.
"Yeah, but no reward." answered Riya.
Confessional: The yellow team won't be sending someone home this time.
Riya: Can't we score first place? Then again, I prefer this over losing.
Alec: Perhaps we learned our mistakes from the first challenge.
Unfortunately for the cyan team, they scored last place.
"If only we didn't get chased by that shark…" spoke James.
Maybe they would have won that way.
But perhaps this was preferable than being shark chow.
Confessional: It looks like Cyan Team is sleeping with the fishes.
Ellie: I hope this isn't the end of the game for me.
Gabby: They better not vote off my Ellie!
Jake: Well, now to take our revenge.
Tom: I know who I'm voting. If Ellie didn't have anything nice to say, she shouldn't have said anything at all. Though I suppose it would have been strange not to say anything during an interview.
At the pier, Fiore and Rosa Maria were trying out their new fishing kit.
It was a nice activity to do while waiting for the next challenge.
Fiore hooked a fish…
…but the fish got away.
"Damn it!" exclaimed Fiore.
"You seem to swear a lot for a kid." noted Rosa Maria.
"What's it to you?" asked the girl.
"I wonder where you learned such language." spoke the young woman.
"Well, my father does swear a bunch." explained Fiore.
"Does he?" asked Rosa Maria.
Confessional: Maybe Fiore needs a swear jar. Then again, she's not on this show to LOSE money.
Fiore: I guess this is why the nuns at the boarding school don't like me much.
Rosa Maria: I think Fiore might need new guardians.
The yellow team were discussing the events of the challenge.
"Hopefully we can get first place and get a reward for a change." noted Riya. That would be awesome. Though second place was better than last place this season.
"I'm just glad we didn't lose two challenges in a row." spoke Alec. That would really put their team at a disadvantage.
"I know." nodded Grett. What if Yul was eliminated?
"Perhaps I should pull some strings so that Cyan Team's elimination ceremony will go in our favor." spoke Alec.
"How would it not work in our favor?" asked the actress.
"Well, I think we just might be better off if Ellie stays in the game." answered the genius among contestants.
"If you say so." answered Riya.
Alec noticed James walking with Tom.
He seemed to recall Jake letting his envy consume him.
Perhaps this was an opportunity to strike.
Confessional: James' days in Allstars might be numbered.
Alec: A chance to get both winners out of the game? This is too good of an opportunity to pass up. Why not target the biggest threats?
James: Why do I feel like I suddenly might be in trouble?
"Seeing as Jake and Tom want Ellie gone, maybe we should give them what they want." suggested Aiden.
It would prevent James and himself from being eliminated at least.
"I think we should cut her some slack. I've said some bad things about you in the past that I regret. And I myself have used underhanded tactics to get ahead in my game." noted James.
"So you two aren't so different." spoke Aiden.
"You felt I deserved a second chance. Maybe she does too." answered the Season 2 winner.
"If not her, then who should we vote?" asked Aiden.
"I say Jake. He seems really whiny. And he would like to be reunited with Miriam." suggested James.
"Good idea." answered Aiden.
Meanwhile, Jake was approached by Alec.
"Alec?" asked Jake.
"Good to see you. You know, I think Tom might be interested in James." whispered Alec.
"He is?" asked Jake.
Alec nodded.
"Isn't he a hunk?" questioned the villain.
"Doesn't James already have a boyfriend?" asked Jake.
"Maybe. But you might want to check on him, just in case." pointed out Alec.
Curious, Jake decided to see if that was the case.
Sure enough, he saw him with James.
"It's so nice to meet a cop. I feel like maybe Yul should have been arrested for what he tried to do to Aiden." spoke James.
"That was uncalled for, wasn't it?" asked Tom.
Jake frowned.
Alec later visited Ellie and Gabby.
"Psst! Ellie! You should vote for James." spoke Alec.
"We should?" asked Ellie.
"But I like having another black person on the team." noted Gabby.
"Well, I could be on the chopping block. You think I shouldn't vote for Jake?" questioned Ellie. She imagined that Jake would want her gone.
"Trust me. I know what I'm doing." explained Alec.
"I guess we don't have anything to lose." noted Ellie.
Gabby sighed.
While she decided to listen to Alec, Ellie did admit, James and herself did have things in common.
At the elimination ceremony, Kristal read the votes.
It was clear that this ceremony was going to be close.
"First vote, Ellie."
Ellie frowned.
"Second vote, Jake."
Jake frowned.
"Third vote, James."
James raised an eyebrow.
"Fourth vote, James."
Aiden wondered what was going on.
"Second person voted out of Disventure Camp, James." read Kristal.
He had received half of the votes.
"The two winners have been eliminated back to back. What were the chances?" asked Kristal. You'd think that they would do better.
But then again, something told her this was part of someone's strategy.
"Oh no…" spoke the transexual.
He didn't think his boyfriend would get eliminated so soon.
But unfortunately it seemed that was how it is. At least he hadn't been eliminated first.
He just hoped that he wouldn't be the next person to go.
"You should really do something about Jake. His paranoia is consuming him." noted James.
"Tell me about it." answered Ellie.
James left to board the motel bus.
Confessional: It's Ellie's lucky day.
James: (Vote: Jake) Why did I have to get paired with Jake? I think Ellie was right about him. Still, I already did win a million dollars.
Gabby (Vote: James) I guess we can trust Alec!
Ellie (Vote: James) Remind me to thank Alec later.
Aiden (Vote: Jake) Relationship aside, this puts me at a disadvantage.
Tom (Vote: Ellie): I was just getting to know James too.
Jake: (Vote: James) Did I make the right choice? Maybe I should have voted Ellie instead…well, it's too late now.
It was unfortunate for James to be leaving so soon, but he still decided to wink at the audience before boarding the bus.
Magenta Team: Fiore, Ashley, Ally, Hunter, Tess, Rosa Maria
Yellow Team: Connor, Alec, Riya, Yul, Grett
Cyan Team: Ellie, Gabby, Tom, Jake, Aiden
Voted Off: Miriam, James
It seems that joining a different team didn't stop James from meeting the same fate he did in canon. But second boot is a bit better than first boot.
I figured I would give Alec a reason for targeting James specifically. Both winners gone makes it that much easier for himself to become a winner, am I right?
Will he become a winner though? Well, I'm not one to choose a villain but it's not completely off the table.
So wait and see.
