Magical Twins
Prologue
He walked to the destroyed house that lay in ruins.
He walked towards it silently.
He heard people screaming, babies crying...
He didn't care about it.
He had to be fast.
No one was allowed to see him.
Otherwise it would be over.
He stepped over the cat's corpse and stopped.
Apparently it was in the former living room.
No walls were left standing.
He must have gone on a rampage, he thought to himself.
He walked past the broken table and saw two babies lying in the middle of the rubble.
One had black hair, the other red.
One cried and the other didn't.
One had a scar, the other did not.
One was a boy, the other was a girl.
He looked at the girl.
She was so quiet.
Then she turned her gaze from nowhere to him.
The girl looked at him with her piercing green eyes.
Something made him feel uneasy.
He didn't know what.
He glanced over his shoulder.
The girl looked at him intently for a moment.
Strict.
There was no right word for it.
She continued to look at him.
He turned his head away.
People came closer.
One of them was huge.
And he felt watched.
Not good, he thought.
He had to get out of here.
He had to make a choice quickly.
He hesitated for a moment, but then he made the decision.
Yes, it was the girl.
She was exactly what his master wanted.
He picked her up and ran away.
A tall figure stood under a broken lamppost.
He had long, silver-white hair, the same color of his beard.
His eyes twinkled behind his glasses.
He wore a purple cape, green robes, and brown bones that reached almost to his knees.
He looked so magical that he understood that a lady with a basket was walking a wide arc around him.
He watched him, the figure disappearing silently into the shadows of the night.
He watched for a while and then he too disappeared.
