Dumbledore PoV
Dumbledore pulled himself out of the pensive and ran out of the office with speed that didn't match his age. He quickly made his way through the long halls of Hogwarts.
Eventually, he arrived outside the bathroom in question.
Even now, 49 years later, he still remembered the sorrow he felt when she was found. He also remembered that it was only a short time before Tom had shown up. So there could be more than one entrance and exit to the chamber.
With that on his mind, Dumbledore stepped into the bathroom. Looking around, he couldn't see Myrtle. He would have to have the ghosts look for her.
Maybe she had memories of her death that would give them a hint to what was in the chamber. He was pretty sure he knew of the monster in the chamber. After all, the house logo was a snake, and he was a parslemouth.
Dumbledore was sure that Slazar would also pick a snake for his monster, and what better than a Basilisk. They could live for 100's of years, maybe even over 1000 years. They were deadly, and only people who spoke Parseltongue could control them.
Looking around, Dumbledore didn't see anything that jumped out at him as a way into a secret chamber. Pulling out his wand, he started casting a wide range of spells to see if he could find any secret door or passageway.
Dumbledore wasn't surprised that they came back with no result. Students had been using the bathroom for centuries and had no doubt cast privacy and revelling spells many times.
Dumbledore put his wand away and started to inspect the walls. His fingers ran over the wall letting out a constant stream of magic out into the wall.
Yet after several checks, he wasn't able to find anything strange about the wall. The magic flowed through the wall without any change.
Dumbledore did wonder how Tom had managed to find the entrance it wasn't like he would have been exploring the girl's bathroom. Dumbledore took another look around the room.
The sinks were the only large thing in the room that could hide a passageway. Dumbledore walked over to the sinks and started inspecting them.
As he walked around the sinks, he noticed that the side of the taps had snakes engraved on them. It would be expected if the bathroom was in the Slytherin dorm. But it wasn't. This was the 2nd floor, 4 floors from the Slytherin's common room.
Dumbledore sunk his magic into the sinks, and soon he noticed traces of magic that were still active.
Spells to protect the sinks and make them unbreakable, a ward to stop ghosts from entering, and several other enchantments, but one stood out the most.
A ward made from Parslerunes he had only ever come across it once during the war with Tom. After some more poking around, Dumbledore was sure that the ward made from Parslerunes must be the key to opening the entrance.
Although he couldn't be 100% sure, the rune design was a lot like the ones used for the common rooms and used a spoken password to gain entrance.
However, that left him at a stalemate. The only way to open what he was sure was the door to the Chamber of Secrets was with Parseltongue, a magical language that you had to be born able to speak and couldn't learn.
Now that he had found the entrance, he needed to inform the staff and some select members of the Ministry. No doubt he would have to put up with that idiot Fudge.
Walking outside of the bathroom, Dumbledore turned around and placed several wards on the bathroom that would stop anyone else from entering.
When Professor Dumbledore walked into the Staff Room, he could see that the atmosphere was already tense.
"Headmaster, what is with the urgent meeting?" Professor Flitwick asked.
Professor Dumbledore could see that they were worried someone else had been attacked or, worse, killed.
"I have come across what I believe to be the location of the chamber of secrets. The Ministry will be joining us in a minute," as if on cue, the door to the staff meeting room opened.
The caretaker Argus Filch led a group of people into the meeting room.
They were the minister of Magic, Cornelius Fudge, his undersecretary Dolores Umbridge, the head of the Magical Law enforcement Amelia Bones.
Behind her was a small group of Unspeakable, and lastly, a scared man walked into the room Mad-Eye Moody.
"Ablus," Moody said in greeting before sitting down on a chair.
"I must say I am surprised to have been called to Hogwarts at such a late hour?" Madam Bones asked, taking a seat.
"Yes, Dumbledore, what couldn't wait till morning?" Cornelius Fudge asked respectfully but with a small hint of annoyance.
"I wouldn't call you all at this hour if it's not important. As im sure you all know, there have been attacks at Hogwarts that were supposedly at the hands of the Heir of Slytherin," Dumbledore stated.
"You have a suspect?" Cornelius Fudge asked, sounding relieved.
Everyone around the room looked happy or relieved at what Cornelius Fudge had just said. Well, everyone other than Dolores Umbridge.
"No, I haven't found a suspect," Dumbledore said, killing the mood in the room as everyone looked downcast.
"I have, however, found the entrance to the Chamber of Secrets," Dumbledore said, making the room tense.
"You found the chamber?" one of the unspeakable asked.
"Yes, which is why I have called everyone here to discuss what we do about it," Dumbledore said, holding out his hands for anyone to speak.
"We can just seal it up," Umbridge said in an irritatingly high-pitched voice.
"I am sure Salazar Slytherin made more than one entrance to his chamber," Moody growled out his dislike for Umbridge clear.
"We have to kill the monster inside," Madam Bones said.
"I agree it's too dangerous to leave the monster inside 50 years ago, it killed someone, and it's started to attack people again," Flitwick said.
The other heads of House nodded and agreed with Madam Bones and Flitwick.
"Do we know what the monster is?" Cornelius Fudge asked.
Everyone looked over at the Headmaster.
"I am 90% sure that the monster is a Basilisk. There aren't many creatures that can live for 1000 years, and given that Salazar was a Parslemouth and picked a Basilisk for his house logo, I can't think of anything else that fits."
"A basilisk," one of the Unspeakable said as the room went silent.
"That won't be easy to kill. I don't know of one ever actually being killed?" Madam Bones asked, looking over at the Care of Magical Creatures teacher.
"There has been no confirmed slaying of an adult Basilisk, but young Basilisks have been killed before, but it should be near the end of its life given its 1000 years old." Professor Kettleburn said.
"It's an XXXXX class magical creature, but as far as I am concerned, it should have its own ranking. It is far more dangerous than a Dragon and probably even more dangerous than a Chimaera.
We must be careful where we look so we don't get direct eye contact, which is instantly fatal. The venom is said to kill a wizard in a few minutes. I would also guess its hide is also very resistant to magic," Professor Kettleburn said, letting everyone know the danger of the Basilisk.
"You said it's near the end of its life?" Madam Bones asked.
"Yes, not much is known about the life cycle of a Basilisk. They become fully grown at around 150 years old, but other than Herpo the fouls Basilisk, I don't know of any that lived that long.
They should also live to around 1000 years old, so this one should be in its twilight years," Professor Kettleburn said.
"Where is this information coming from?" Umbridge's snooty voice asked.
"From the records of Herpo the Foul on his own Basilisk," Professor Kettleburn said with an undertone of annoyance.
"What do we do with the students while we try and kill this abomination?" Madam Bones asked.
"Maybe we have them visit the Ministry?" Cornelius Fudge suggested.
"Yes, that is a good idea, Minister," Undersecretary Umbridge said in a flattering tone.
"We don't have enough staff members to look after them," Madam Bones said dryly.
"We can lock everyone down into their common rooms while placing protections on the entrance and have the head of house looking after them?" Professor McGonagall said.
"Will that be enough to ensure their safety?" Madam Bones asked.
"Yes, the protections on the dorms are very strong, and we can have each head of house have emergency Portkey should we fail to kill the beast," Professor McGonagall said.
The room fell quiet as everyone considered the suggestion.
"Well, if we are in agreement now, we need to decide who it going down," Madam Bones said, looking around the room.
"We will send 12 Unspeakables trained in combat," the robed man said quickly.
"I will be going as well," Dumbledore stated to the room, catching a few people by surprise.
"I will have to ask for volunteers before I can give a number," Madam Bones said.
"I will go down as well," Madeye growled.
"Then there is just one last thing. In order to open the chamber, we need someone that can speak Parseltongue," Dumbledore said.
The people from the Ministry just seemed confused by what Dumbledore said before Professor McGonagall gasped.
"You want Jasmine Potter to go down with you?" Professor McGonagall asked, shocked and with a hint of anger.
The other members of staff also looked shocked at what Dumbledore said and looked very unwilling.
"We can't have the Girl Who Lived go down with you. What if she is injured or killed," Cornelius Fudge said before anyone else from the Ministry could say anything.
"I have to agree we can't take a 12-year-old girl down with us," Madam Bones said.
"We need her to open the chamber. After she has opened it, we can have her escorted back to her common room," Dumbledore said.
"And if it's waiting on the other side of the entrance?" Madam Bones asked.
"It won't be. As far as I can tell, there is an antechamber before the actual Chamber of Secrets," Dumbledore replied.
An uncomfortable silence formed as everyone seemed to be thinking about what Dumbledore had said.
"She leaves the moment her job is done," Madam Bones said, with no room for disagreement.
"Of course," Dumbledore agreed.
"Once the Basilisk is dead, it would be helpful if she is brought back. It seems that Salazar used Parsletounge as security. I am sure there are some secret rooms in the chamber," the head unspeakable said.
"We can leave that for after we have killed the Basilisk," Dumbledore said, having already made up his mind to leave that up to Jasmine.
"Right, I will go back and ask for volunteers. What time are we doing this?" Madam Bones asked.
"We will let the students have breakfast and do a head count, and then they will all be escorted back so we know that no one is missing," Dumbledore said.
"Okay, I shall be back in a few hours then," Madam Bones said, standing up.
"We will go gather our best unspeakable and return after the students have returned to their common rooms," the head unspeakable said as they left the room.
Jasmine PoV
Jasmine woke up with a yawn as she looked around the room. Across from her, both Daphne and Tracey were still sleeping.
Jasmine felt herself getting a little jealous that Daphne was cuddling Tracey. Jasmine's hand went up to the collar around her neck. She knew yesterday was the last day of her punishment as Daphne's slave.
However, Jasmine didn't find herself happy that she wouldn't be Daphne's slave anymore. She liked the way that Daphne treated her in the last week.
Her mind went back to their first date when Daphne had introduced her as her slave. Jasmine could remember feeling embarrassed but happy at how Daphne had introduced her.
Jasmine took a look at the sleeping Daphne and wondered if she would be open to letting her continue to be her slave or if they would end up just being friends.
Jasmine jumped as she felt a pair of soft lips kissing her.
"Sorry you seemed upset," Daphne said as she wrapped her arms around Jasmine's waist.
"Sorry, Mistress, I was thinking about something,"
"Do you want to talk about it?" Daphne asked gently.
"I err," Jasmine said as a lump formed in her throat.
"Well, we need to get up. I am sure that the teachers may want to talk to you about Ginny and the diary," Daphne said, sitting up.
"Yes, Mistress," Jasmine mumbled.
"Ah, that reminds me, your punishment is over, so we can remove that collar now," Daphne said, reaching towards the collar.
Jasmine scooted away from Daphne's hands, making her raise her eyebrow in a challenging manner.
Jasmine swallowed as she felt the urge to submit to Daphne's expectations.
"Jasmine come here," Daphne said, her voice laced with authority.
Jasmine shivered and mumbled.
"What was that?" Daphne asked.
"I want to keep the collar on," Jasmine said in a near whisper.
"I can't just give anyone my collars, Jasmine. Only my slaves are allowed to wear my collar," Daphne said as she crawled over to Jasmine.
Jasmine could feel and hear her heart beating in her ears as Daphne got closer.
"I want to be your slave, Mistress," Jasmine said, panicked as she felt Daphne's hands on the collar around her neck.
Daphne paused. Daphne raised Jasmine's head so that she was staring her in the eyes.
"You want to be my slave?" Daphne asked.
Jasmine felt her face getting red. "Yes, Mistress."
"Have you really thought that through?" Daphne asked.
Jasmine was about to reply before she paused.
Would she be unhappy if she and Daphne went back to just being friends? No, she wouldn't be unhappy with that.
The question was, would she be as happy as she had been in the last week.
"I want to be your slave," Jasmine said firmly.
Jasmine let out a gasp as Daphne pulled her into a deep kiss. Jasmine melted into the kiss as Daphne pinned her down on the bed.
"Then you are mine from now on," Daphne whispered huskily in Jasmine's ear, making her shiver in pleasure.
"Yes, Mistress," Jasmine replied, smiling.
Daphne let out a sigh and sat up. "As much as I would love to kiss and snuggle the morning away, as I said before, im sure teachers will be looking for you."
Daphne rolled off Jasmine and off the bed.
"We can go over my expectations of my slaves tonight now, come on, let's get dressed," Daphne said.
Jasmine pouted. Spending the morning cuddling and kissing did sound really fun to her, but Daphne was right. There was a good chance that the Headmaster would be looking for her to talk more about the diary or Ginny.
With a sigh, Jasmine crawled out of the bed.
"Don't worry, we can cuddle tonight," Daphne promised with a smile.
"Okay, Mistress," Jasmine said as she stripped out of the pyjamas and folded them up.
"Ah, I have something for you to wear," Daphne said before Jasmine could grab her school uniform.
Daphne walked over to the cupboard, pulling something green out that Jasmine soon realised was a bra and underwear set.
"Here," Daphne said, passing them over to Jasmine.
Looking it over, Jasmine's face quickly turned red in embarrassment. The bra and underwear wasn't revealing or anything like that. It was a nice dark green colour with silver accents. No, the embarrassing part was the Slytherin crest on the front of the underwear and on the cups of the bra.
Jasmine looked from the bra and underwear to Daphne, who had an amused smile on her face as she watched Jasmine. Jasmine's blush grew as she pulled the bra and underwear on.
"Good girl, they look cute on you," Daphne said, making Jasmine feel less embarrassed by the underwear.
"I will see you tonight," Daphne said as Jasmine pulled on her shoes and stood up.
"I will see you tonight, Mistress," Jasmine said as she took her invisibility cloak off the cloak hook.
"Oh, one more thing?" Daphne asked, making Jasmine turn around.
Before Jasmine could say anything, Daphne had pulled her into another kiss.
A few seconds later, Daphne broke the kiss and stood smiling confidently.
"Something for you to remember during the day," Daphne said as she gave Jasmine another peck on the lips.
Jasmine stood a little dazed as she licked her lips before she smiled. "Thank you, Mistress," Jasmine said as she slipped out of the room and exited the Slytherin common room.
Jasmine didn't bother going back to the Gryffindor common room. She had already told Hermione that she would meet them down in the Great Hall, and she was already wearing her school uniform.
Once she had gotten to the ground floor, she pulled off the invisibility cloak and hid it back in the inside pocket of her robe.
As she walked inside the Great Hall, Jasmine couldn't help but think that something was off, but she wasn't sure what exactly. Looking around, there weren't many student's in the Great Hall yet, but there were adults that she had never seen before.
The one that stood out the most was a heavily scared man with a large chunk of his nose missing. One of the few students that were in the Great Hall was Susan and Hannah, and they were both looking at the scared man as well.
Seeing that Ron and Hermione weren't here yet, Jasmine walked over to take a seat next to Susan and Hannah.
"Morning," Jasmine greeted them both as she sat down next to Hannah, making them jump slightly.
"Morning, Jasmine," Hannah and Susan greeted back.
"You are not normally up this early?" Susan asked.
"Couldn't sleep, thought I may as well come to get breakfast. Do you know him?" Jasmine asked, nodding towards the scared man.
"Of course, that is Mad-Eye Moody. He is a legendary Auror, and most of the cells in Azkaban are filled thanks to him," Susan replied in a whisper.
"Why is he here then?" Jasmine asked, confused and worried that it may have something to do with the diary Ginny had.
"Not sure, but I have seen a few other Aurors around as well," Susan said.
"Why are Aurors at Hogwarts?" Jasmine asked, confused.
"Not sure, but I think we will be told after breakfast," Hannah said.
"I guess. Oh, it seems Hermione and Ron have arrived. Talk in a bit," Jasmine said to Susan and Hannah.
"Cya," both girls said as Jasmine got to her feet and made her way to the Gryffindor table.
"Morning," Jasmine greeted Hermione and Ron.
Jasmine saw Hermione give her a knowing look and guessed that Hermione thought she had met Daphne before coming to the Great Hall. She wasn't technically wrong. She had just spent the entire night with Daphne, something that she was sure Hermione didn't know.
"Morning, you were excited for breakfast. You didn't even wait for us," Ron complained as they all sat down at the table.
"Breakfast is the most important meal of the day, Ron," Jasmine replied as she placed some food on her plate.
"I think there is going to be an announcement after breakfast," Jasmine said as she pointed to the front of the Great Hall.
"Oh my god, that Mad-Eye," Ron mumbled with his mouth full of food.
"Mad-Eye?" Hermione asked.
"He is a famous Auror, according to Susan," Jasmine said.
"Why would an Auror be here?" Hermione asked.
"Maybe for the duelling club? He is retired now and teaches new Aurors," Ron said as he piled sausage and bacon into a sandwich.
"Really, that would be amazing," Hermione said excitedly.
Jasmine was surprised by what Ron had said. It had never occurred to her that maybe it was for something like the duelling club. Soon the Great Hall started to fill up, and Jasmine felt her eyes drawn to the entrance.
Her eyes locked with Dapohne, who had just entered the Great Hall. Daphne's looked her up and down before giving her a smirk and wink. Jasmine blushed as she remembered the bra and underwear that she was wearing with the Slytherin crest.
Jasmine quickly looked away and saw that Hermione was looking between the both of them before she gave Jasmine a happy smile.
As breakfast came to an end, Dumbledore stood up, and the hall fell quiet and became tense as everyone looked at the Headmaster.
"Some of you may or may not have noticed that Aurors from the Ministry of Magic are at Hogwarts today. They are here for some important business, so lessons have been cancelled today, and everyone must remain in their dorms until further notice." Dumbledore announced to the Great Hall.
Imidatlly the Great Hall burst into whispers as everyone started to ask each other why they were here, and from what Jasmine could hear, make up reasons.
"Silence! You will all be escorted back to your houses by the head of the House and another staff member. We expect that it should only take a few hours max, but should it take longer, then dinner will happen in your common rooms," Dumbledore said.
With that, the head of the House motioned for the Head Boy and Head Girl of each House to stand up, as well as the prefects. The Ravenclaw house was the first to leave, and then the Slytherin house.
After that, both the Hufflepuff and Gryffindor houses stood up to leave.
"Miss Potter, the headmaster needs to talk about what you found yesterday," Professor McGonagall said as she walked down the line.
The students within hearing range all looked at Jasmine before they were ferried out of the Great Hall. Jasmine had to stop herself from letting out a groan, knowing that rumours would be all over the school by the end of the day.
Jasmine turned around and walked to the staff table. Looking at the staff, she could see that some of them seemed upset. Unsurprisingly, Snape wasn't one of the staff that seemed upset.
"Miss Potter, it seems that I have to ask something difficult of you today. I have managed to find the entrance of the chamber of secrets, but it needs someone who can speak Parseltongue to open it," Dumbledore explained.
Before Jasmine could reply to Dumbledore, a square-jawed witch with greying hair and a monocle spoke. Jasmine vaguely remembered that Susan had introduced her as her Aunt at the end of last year.
"You don't have to do it if you don't wish to, Miss Potter."
"I don't know how to speak Parseltongue on demand," Jasmine said hesitantly.
"I have a solution for that," Dumbledore replied.
"I guess I can try and open the chamber of secrets then," Jasmine agreed, not feeling very confident.
"Excellent; well, the Unspeakables should be here soon," Dumbledore said.
Jasmine stood there feeling a little awkward and wondered what an Unspeakable was. Maybe they were some kind of special forces like the SAS of the British Army, Jasmine thought.
"Let me explain your role today Miss Potter," Susan's Aunt said.
"Isn't it just to open the entrance?" Jasmine asked.
"That is correct. The Headmaster believes that the entrance opens into an antechamber, so we may also need to enter that if another door needs opening."
After you have opened the chamber, I will escort you back to the common room. After the monster is killed, the Unspeakables have made a request if you could help them look around in case Parsletounge is needed to open any secret doors."
"Okay, I guess," Jasmine replied.
The sound of the door opening made Jasmine turn around, and the remaining staff members stood up. What greeted Jasmine was one of the strangest things she had seen at Hogwarts so far.
12 men walked into the room in black robes that seemed to suck the light in around them. They had large hoods that covered their faces in complete shadows in such a complete manner that Jasmine was sure that magic was used.
The strange thing was each of them was carrying a cage with Roosters in them. The strange men had an aura that made Jasmine feel uncomfortable near them.
"Right then, let's go then," Dumbledore said, standing up.
"Stick with me, okay, Miss Potter," Madam Bones said comfortingly.
"Sure," Jasmine said, stepping closer to Madam Bones and further away from the robed men.
With Dumbledore leading, they made their way through the halls of Hogwarts and up to the second floor. Jasmine was surprised to see that their destination was Moaning Myrtle's Bathroom.
Dumbledore gave his wand a wave, and Jasmine noticed a ripple around the door to the bathroom. Everyone entered the bathroom, with Jasmine following behind Madam Bones.
"Miss Potter, if you could come up here, please," Dumbledore said in a grandfatherly tone.
Jasmine walked up to Dumbledore, doing her best to ignore all the eyes that she could feel on her with every step.
"Right, I believe that the entrance to the Antechamber is hidden by the sinks. I think as long as you say open in Parseltounge, then we should be able to enter," Dumbledore said as he gave an encouraging pat on the shoulder.
Jasmine nodded as she focused on the sinks.
"Open," Jasmine said and realised that it was in English.
Jasmine could feel her face heating up as everyone stared at her. She could almost feel their disappointment and expectations dropping.
"Worry not, try it again. It's a new skill for you, after all," Dumbledore said, not sounding angry or put off by her failure.
Jasmine swallowed nervously as she did her best to picture a snake in her head.
"Open," Jasmine said came out as a low hissing noise that seemed very loud in the silent room.
Jasmine could feel that some of the people were uneasy with the sound and shifted side to side.
With a loud clicking noise, the skinks started to break apart, and everyone quickly stepped away. Madam Bones pulled Jasmine next to her with her wand out, ready for any danger.
The top of the sinks floated into the roof, fitting perfectly into a cut-out that had a magic skylight in. The sinks slowly spread out, revealing a hole in the ground.
Once they were fully spread out, one of the sinks sunk into the ground, leaving a large enough gap that people could get to the hole in the ground.
"Guess we need to go down then?" Someone asked, looking at the hole.
"How are we meant to get back out?" Madam Bones asked.
"I will have Fawkes bring you back out," Dumbledore said to Madam Bones.
"I sorta expected something more refined and noble than a hole in the ground from Slazar, to be honest," Jasmine said, looking at the hole in the ground.
She had seen the Slytherin Common Room, after all. It had a noble and spacious feeling towards it. Every time she snuck into the common room, she felt the need to look around in appreciation, whether that be the marble walls or the enormous glass windows and roof sections that gave a breathtaking view into the Black Lake.
None of that, however, matched with the hole in the ground hidden under some sinks in a girl's bathroom.
"I am pretty sure this isn't the original entrance. Over the last 1000 years, Hogwarts has gone through many renovations," Dumbledore said.
"Right, I will go first," Dumbledore said as he walked to the hole and jumped down.
Jasmine blinked, surprised she had been told that Wizards aged much slower. They didn't grow weak like non-magicals, but there was still something wrong with seeing someone over 100 years old so active.
Everyone jumped down the deep dark hole one by one, and soon it was Jasmine's and Madam Bone's turn.
"Do you want me to go first?" Madam Bones asked.
"No, it's okay. It's not the first time I have jumped into a deep dark hole," Jasmine said as she took a calming breath and jumped into the hole.
Jasmine's breath was knocked out as her body slammed against the smooth wall and quickly flew through the tunnel. She tried to use her feet to slow down, but the smooth wall just slipped under her feet.
Quickly she found the tunnel starting to level off, and she could see light at the end of the tunnel. Jasmine tried to slow herself down as she came towards the end of the tunnel but came shooting out.
Jasmine closed her eyes, expecting to go flying into someone but opened her eyes in surprise when she felt herself stop. Jasmine looked around, seeing that she was floating in the air.
As soon as she placed her feet on the ground, whatever spell was making her float seemed to stop working. Jasmine moved forward as she heard Madam Bones coming up behind her and didn't want to risk being hit.
Jasmine looked around and shivered when she saw a small hill of bones in one corner of the room. Hopefully, they died of starvation and not by the monster in the chamber.
"Miss Potter?" Madam Bones asked, getting her attention as everyone was looking at her, with some of them looking worried.
"Sorry, so I guess this is the antechamber?" Jasmine asked.
"Yes, let's continue," Dumbledore said, his wand held high as a light flew ahead of them.
Jasmine pulled out her own wand "Lumos," Jasmine said, creating a light on the end of her own wand.
Madam Bones gave her a smile, and they followed after the wizards as they made their way through the tunnels and into a cave.
"Found a skin," someone called out from ahead.
"Wow," Jasmine said as she saw what the man was talking about.
On the cave floor was a massive, eerie green snakeskin that looked at least 35, 40 feet long. Just the skin had an intimidating and dangerous vibe to it.
"You think it's got any value?" one of the robbed men asked.
The other pulled out his wand, and a dark blue thin crescent spell shot out of his wand, leaving a deep slash into the ground; however, there was no damage or mark on the Basilisk skin.
"You can experiment on it later," Dumbledore said as he continued to move forward.
Jasmine took another look at the skin as she followed, and soon they came to the end of the cave and a large metal door embedded in the wall.
"Miss Potter," Dumbledore asked as she walked to the front of the group.
The door had seven giant metal snakes that seemed to act like some kind of lock.
Jasmine didn't need to be told what she needed to do, and with the metal snakes looking so lifelike, she found it easy to picture a snake in her mind.
"Open," Jasmine hissed out.
With a scraping noise, another metal snake slithered around the outer edge of the door making the seven snakes that locked the door move out of the way with loud clicking noises.
With all of the snakes moved out of the way, the door made a loud groaning and creaking noise as it slowly swung open.
Once the door had opened all the way, they could see into the chamber of secrets. Taking a peek inside, Jasmine could see a large carving of a head on the far side of the wall with hair that turned into snakes.
On the path towards the head, the heads of snakes jutted out of the water.
"Do you think he wanted people to know he liked snakes?" Jasmine asked.
Someone let out a snort.
"That's our job done, Headmaster," Madam Bones said.
"Of course, Madam Bones. Fawkes!" Dumbledore called out.
A flash of fire made Jasmine jump, and her wand snapped toward the ball of fire instantly. Once the fire faded, a large crimson swan appeared and looked around the room.
It was one of the most beautiful and noble creatures that Jasmine had ever seen.
"If you grab ahold of Fawkes's tail feathers, he will take you back to the bathroom," Dumbledore said.
With a mighty flap of his wings, Fawkes gracefully flew over to Jasmine and Madam Bones, who took hold of his tail feathers. Jasmine was surprised that the feathers felt hot on her fingers.
Jasmine closed her eyes as fire seemed to engulf her vision but held tightly onto the feather. A second later, she felt ground under her feet again and stumbled slightly.
The firey feather that was in her fingers has also vanished.
"That has to be the best form of magical travel I have ever used," Madam Bones said as she used her wand to remove the dust and grime from herself.
Looking over, Madam Bones flicked her wand at Jasmine cleaning her clothing as well.
"Right, let's get you back to the Gryffindor Common Room," Madam Bones said.
Jasmine nodded as she took one last look at the hole in the ground.
"Do you know when I will be able to see my godfather?" Jasmine asked Madam Bones as they made their way to the Gryffindor Common Room.
"Well, he has been discharged from Saint Mungos with a potion regimen to follow that will fix most of the damage that he has suffered.
He needs to see a mind healer tomorrow. As long as there are no massive problems found tomorrow, then I believe you should be allowed to meet him on the weekend," Madam Bones replied.
"This weekend?" Jasmine asked excitedly.
"As long as there are no big problems found in his mind, then yes, this weekend and hopefully, you will be able to live with him this summer," Madam Bones said.
Jasmine smiled to herself as she thought about living with someone who didn't hate her existence. Not only that, but she would be allowed to send her friends letters and even meet them during the summer.
Maybe she could invite Hermione, Susan and Hannah for a sleepover. She had never been to a sleepover before and felt like jumping with joy and anticipation.
Sirius Pov
Sometimes he still couldn't quite believe that he was free now.
Sirius groaned as he relaxed in the massage chair that he had bought for his small apartment for the first time after finally being discharged from Saint Mungos Hospital. Running his hand through his now again silky black hair and then slowly running his tongue over his teeth, he nearly wept with joy.
Azkaban had been hell, and his 11-year-long stay in prison had ravaged his body. His hair had been slimy, oily and dirty to an unbelievable extent. Never mind the stink of the rest of his body. His teeth had partially fallen out due to having nothing to brush them with, and he had needed to have them regrown with Skele-gro at the hospital.
All of that wasn't even mentioning his malnourished body, which had been so thin that Sirius resembled more of a skeleton than a man. Still looking at his apartment, he could only sigh in relief that his torment was finally over.
Soon he would be meeting up with his mind healer for the first time and also have a meeting with the goblins regarding his vaults. He wasn't looking forward to meeting the mind healer, but it was something he had to do in order to be given custody of Jasmine. He had already failed her and James and Lilly by chasing after Peter and getting thrown into Azkaban. He wouldn't fail them again.
His mind drifted to his personal life.
A few of his old acquaintances had actually contacted him and apologised for believing him to be a Death-eater, and Sirius had been tempted to tell them to fuck off. But Ultimately, he had decided that it wasn't worth it to alienate people who he had been close to. Not that there were many left to be honest.
Gideon, Fabian, James, Lily, Benjy, Edgar, Dorcas, and even Pandora were all dead... He actively avoided thinking about Peter, and both Frank and Alice suffered a terrible fate.
There were still some people left who Sirius had been at least friendly with. Remus, of course, had come to visit him in the hospital about every day when he wasn't helping to guard Hogwarts and Jasmine in case of Pettigrew tried to take a shot at her after he had escaped.
Then Pandora's husband Xenophilius had contacted him about a meeting over the summer with him, Jasmine and a girl named Daphne Greengrass for some reason. He was still unsure what to think about that strange request.
McGonagall had given him a few visits, and Hagrid appeared once in tears to apologise to him. Finally, his cousin Andromeda and her daughter Nymphadora visited him a few times. But that was pretty much it. Outside of those people, most simply held their distance from him.
Not that he cared all that much. Once he had relaxed a few days, he would empty his apartment here and then move to Grimmauld Place again.
As much as he hated that place, it had been the condition that Albus gave him for taking in Jasmine. Grimmauld Place had many powerful wards against any unwanted visitors. Sighing, Sirius groaned as he inwardly hoped that the damn House-elf had died while he was in Azkaban. He really hated Kreacher.
