Hello People of Fanfiction!
I know I've neglected this story for so long, I'm sorry for the delay, and even this chapter isn't that interesting in my opinion,
But I really intend to finish this story and I've decided on how to end it a long time ago.
I just need more time to finish the remaining chapters because It's really hard to write and even harder to maintain consistency.
But It'll be finished, that much I can promise you.
Thank you for your time, Please don't forget to review after you're finished and have a good read.
Azula
Azula walked through the newly renovated royal palace, it was hard to come to terms with the renovation process that she never attended any of it in person, but as soon as she stepped foot in the palace, she noticed that nothing's changed, it's still the same, if not slightly better.
The workers have done an outstanding job with the decorations, it's as if the palace was never blown up in the first place, even the garden plants were all the same, appointing a man like General Shinu, who knew everything about the palace, to lead the renovation process had its highly remarkable perks, General Shinu had been attending meetings in this palace since before Azula was born, he knew every nook and cranny, and in Azula's mind, he demonstrated his knowledge perfectly with the newly renovated palace.
As she kept walking through the corridors, she arrived at the wall of The Firelords, she saw pictures that made her happy, including her own picture as the newly appointed Firelord of the nation, it made the cheers of the people echo in her mind again,
as soon as the fire sage said, "All Hail Firelord Azula!" and then he put the headpiece on her topknot, the people in attendance roared in cheers, expressing their happiness and saluting the new Firelord, Azula couldn't have been happier as she stood up from her kneeling position and saluted the firenation people who came to congratulate her, for the first time in her life, she felt like she finally lived up to her ambition,
She then saw a picture that made her stomach turn, even though it was put on the wall with her approval, but it still made her stomach turn, she just didn't want the people to be ever more suspicious of her, in Azula's mind, The Picture of Firelord Zhao on the wall of great Firelords could only be described as nauseating, for a scum like Zhao to be put beside the people who embodied greatness, You have the great Firelord Chaeryu and the great Firelord Zoryu and their Descendants until they reached Azula's Great Grandfather Firelord Sozin then her grandfather Firelord Azulon, then her father Firelord Ozai.. Then Zhao, Talk about Irony.
At least he was Succeeded by a great name, Azula daughter of Ozai.
Azula lifted her head proudly as she left the nauseating sight of Zhao on the wall of Firelords and continued on her way to the throne room, she's finally sitting on the great chair.
She came before the curtains and took a deep breath, she then moved the curtains to enter, and the sight before her made her stare in awe, The newly decorated throne room looked nothing short of.. glorious.
Instead of Firelord Sozin's noticeably smaller Throne Room that had more red and gold colors, The new throne room has many black pillars with elaborate gold bases that support the roof and has black tiled floors. The Fire Lord sits on an ornate covered throne on a higher platform surrounded by a wall of fire, An enormous bas-relief image of a dragon breathing fire adorns the wall behind the Fire Lord. The imposing atmosphere is designed to instill awe and fear in all who enter, intimidating all who face the Fire Lord, This isn't a Throne room anymore, It's a war room, and Azula loved every bit of it, Her eyes kept wandering around the room until she saw something that made her eyes twinkle, The Throne.
Suddenly everything else escaped Azula's mind as she realized one thing, she finally achieved her dream, she's the new Firelord, she walked slowly and steadily towards the throne, her eyes never leaving it for a second, as it kept twinkling at the sight, never has she wanted anything more than this, never has she needed anything more than this,
The Royal throne of the Firenation, even in her times of weakness, even in her times of trauma and suffering, her need for the throne never wavered, it was like a curse, but one she's more than happy to have upon her. She finally reached the throne, ascended the steps and stood before the seat, she was supposed to sit on it, under the ornate cover, but she just wanted to make sure that she wasn't dreaming, so she slowly moved her hands to touch the cover, slowly she did, because even if it was a dream, it was one that she never wanted to wake up from, she closed her eyes and moved her hands slowly until it reached the cover, and it did feel like she wasn't dreaming, it was all real, She's the Firelord, She's about to sit on the throne, and she's officially the new Firelord of The Firenation.
She finally took her place on the higher platform, then she closed her eyes and felt at peace.. until her peace was disturbed by none other than her head counselor, General Shinu.
The General bowed to the new Firelord, and then he started talking, "Apologies for interrupting your moment, Your highness. But the nation is in a dire state right now, and we need to start with the rebuilding process right now." Shinu said.
Azula huffed, "Has anybody ever told you how dull and boring you are, General Shinu?"
"Yes, You have, Your highness." The General simply responded.
Azula then sighed and stood up, she walked down the stairs and stood before General Shinu, "You start with the rebuilding process and do whatever you gotta do, I trust your judgement completely."
General Shinu looked flattered by the words but still he wanted to argue, "But you still have to be there, Your highness. I don't want the war counsel to think badly of you. You're better than that." Shinu said with a meaningful look at Azula, who understood his words completely.
"I understand.." She looked away for a second, but then she looked back at him, "Alright, I'll come with you, but I need to go somewhere first."
Shinu looked confused, "Where do you wanna go?"
"Oh No, you are not coming.. I'm going there alone.. Meanwhile, you tell June and Ding of their new operation." Azula said.
Shinu looked relieved, "Finally.. It's about time they got off their asses."
Azula smiled crookedly, "Yeah.. It definitely is."
"I'll send for the pirates immediately, I have something in mind for all of them." Shinu responded.
"Good." The Firelord said, the she left Shinu right on the spot and went on her way, She left in a hurry as she wanted to meet some old friends before meeting with the counsel.
It's time to question Mai and Ty Lee.
Miki
"How do you do it?" Miki asked the old man sitting in front of her.
"Hm. What?" He appeared to be in a daze prior to her question, so she had to ask him again AND clarify her question this time.
"Ruling while not ruling. How do you do it?" Miki clarified, they were sitting in the canteen of the academy after all the students left, the evacuation process started some time ago and it was finally coming to an end, with the help of Master Pakku who the people listened to him almost instantly, they trust him to the end, all of them, which is somewhat makes him the most powerful man in the tribe, Miki was amazed by the display of power, and frightened at the same time.
Master Pakku looked at her as if he was inspecting her, trying to understand the hidden meaning of her question, so Miki saved him the hassle.
"Never mind. It's a stupid question." Miki said looking away in embarrassment.
"No, It's okay. I get your point now, I was just trying to understand why you're asking this question now after all this time. I mean, you could have asked me that when you saw how Voccak begged me to get the people of the southern tribe on his side. Why are you asking me this now?" Pakku said, looking confused and interested at the same time.
Miki sighed, She knew there was no escape from him, "It's just.. ever since the evacuation started, You started to show your full power. When you helped Voccak unite the people of the tribe, I didn't see that in front of my eyes, But I was part of the evacuation process, and I saw how the people listen to you, You're the true ruler of the southern watertribe.. which frightens me." Miki said, looking at the ground.
"Why does it frighten you?" Pakku asked.
She couldn't look at him as she said in a rush, "I don't want Voccak to see you as a threat.", not even controlling her mouth, she had always hated how rash she was at times.. but right now, she couldn't care less, Pakku's like a father to her, she would risk committing a crime against the chief for him.
Pakku chuckled, which confused Miki that she got her head up and looked at him, "My dear, You appear to have no faith at all in your teacher."
"What? No! It's just-"
"I understand, Miki. and I thank you for your concern, But I've lived long enough to know how to tame a wolf." Pakku interrupted her.
"Huh?" Miki questioned, Did he just say 'tame a wolf?' Miki asked internally, Does that mean what I think it means?
Pakku kept chuckling at her naivety, but then he composed himself and started talking,
"I've lived with Voccak for years, My dear. If you think I don't understand what kind of person he's by now, you're gravely mistaken, Voccak isn't someone you would call a friend, but he could be someone you would call an ally, and if you're smart and powerful enough, he could be someone you would call a pet.." Pakku said, Miki looked like she has a million questions, but Pakku decided to keep talking hoping that he might answer all her questions along the way,
"Voccak doesn't understand friendship, he doesn't know how that could be beneficial to a human being, but he understands how beneficial an ally can be, and the more powerful his ally is, the more appreciative of their union Voccak is, so appreciative that if you have the right amount of power, Voccak could become your personal pet, and who's the most powerful man in the southern tribe, Miki?" Pakku finished with a question.
Miki smiled, and pointed at Pakku, who nodded in acknowledgement.
"But how do you do it? How are you this powerful?" Miki returned to her first question.
Pakku looked at her, appearing to be thinking his answer this time, "It all depends on the first impression, Miki. and.. I've done a lot of good things to the people of this country, I taught most of those people and their kids how to waterbend, You don't understand how a favor would do to the perspective of a human being, I have never asked for anything in return for helping these people, because I've always saw it as a purpose, an endeavor to make me sleep at night knowing that I've done something right." Pakku answered looking at the ground.
Suddenly Miki's hands were on his, he got startled by the gesture that he looked at her to see appreciation and Love in her eyes,
"You really need to appreciate yourself more, Old man. You're the reason this tribe is still standing, You give us hope." Miki said, her eyes reflecting her words perfectly.
Pakku smiled affectionately for perhaps the first time in his life, as far as Miki is concerned, "Thank you, Miki." He said, They kept smiling at each other in fondness as if they were a father and his daughter, until their moment was broken by a rather abrupt opening of the door.
"Master Pakku, Your presence has been requested at the city gates!" Miki's boyfriend Kai said, appearing to be tired of a long run as he kept panting.
"What's wrong Kai?" Miki asked as she rushed to her boyfriend's side to help him stand up straight.
Kai looked at Miki and then at Master Pakku, "It's Chief Hakoda.. He's back."
Pakku's face displayed lots of emotions that could be interpreted differently depending on the person looking at him. happiness, fear, confusion and many more.
But he only settled on two words, "Oh No.." He said as he smacked his forehead, and left for the city gates with Miki and Kai following by.
And that's it for this chapter, really interesting events in the next two chapters to come.
I hope you're still interested and Don't forget to review.
Thank you and have a good one :)
