Adam and the gang followed that mysterious voice and the source led them to the secret door in front of them. He forces the door open and exits first. Followed by Whopper, Charlemagne, and Hairball. Adam closes the secret doors to avoid their trail. The four regrouped together.

"Whew, what a great escape." Whopper said. "You're telling me kid." Charlemagne slowly figures out who's missing among them. "Hey, where's Cooler?" When one of them was about to reply with an answer, the doors were heard open. They look to see who's coming out? It was someone who got kicked up in the air and landed on the ground face plant. The jar shattered upon impact, revealing to be Cooler. Disguised as a cat. Much to their surprise.

"Hey Cooler it's you. Hey let's break that door down and-" Before she could say. "There you all are." She got interrupted by a voice. They turn to see it was Oswin, with Big Paw behind him. "You all made it out, but where's the rest?" Oswin asked. There was silence for a moment, Whopper stepped forward. He took off his hat and held it tight. "Bright eyes, Nose...and others... are captured. He's gonna make them evil with that machine he made." Whopper said in sadness.

"Machine?" Oswin wondered with curiosity. "What machine?" He asked. "The mean machine, he's got an invention that can turn innocent dogs into something mean and voracious. We saw what happened to Colette and Howler." Adam explains. "That's not all, there were also two bulldogs." Charlemagne added. "The bulldogs." Whopper remembered something. "That reminds me, remember the puppies he adopted? They were the bulldogs." Whopper said.

Oswin tights his hands, making it look like a fist. "Son of a gun, He may be almost as bad as one of them in his bloodline." Oswin said. "What now guys?" Big paw asked them. Once again there's silence, nobody knows what. They turn to Cooler, they thought he might have an idea. "Cooler, I think we should go back and rescue them." Whopper suggested. "Yeah, let's break that door down." Charlemagne repeated what she said last time. Cooler doesn't reply.

"Cooler, do you have a plan? We can still try again." Hairball said. He still doesn't utter a word. Making them concerned with his silent treatment, especially with Whopper and Adam mostly. "Cooler?" Whopper tries to get his attention. "Hey, you okay?" Adam places his hand on his shoulder. He moves his arm away. Adam pulls his hand back.

"Why?" Cooler finally speaks in a soft voice. They are a bit confused about this. "What?" Adam replied. "Why? Why do you guys still give me a chance, despite all that Marvin revealed? Do you all still forgive me? Don't you wanna say anything mean, or anything negative towards me?" Cooler asked. "I don't understand, why would we?" Oswin replied. "What happened there guys?" Big Paw wondered, missing half of the event that transpired in the castle.

"What happened, WHAT HAPPENED?!" Cooler shouts, catching them off guard. "I'm the one that happened, and I'll tell you. I never listened to the warnings, and rushed ahead. In the end, I lead all of you to the impending doom. Ya know what, he's right. Everything he says is true... He's my owner, and I was the first guard dog he had once before I left." Cooler explains.

Everyone gasped hearing he was once his first guard dog of Marvin. But none is moved from his words. Whopper steps forward towards him. "It doesn't matter what you were, or where you came from. You're Cooler, a great leader. The fearless one of the pound puppies. Always beating the odds-" Cooler cuts him off. "SHUT IT WHOPPER!"

Cooler shows him the collar to have Whopper take a gander at the name. "Look at the name...LOOK! All of you... it's in the name, the one I abandoned, and kept it from all of you. Including my friends. Even...Nose...Now I really screwed up, I betrayed her and lost my trust with her." Cooler moans in grief. "Not everyone Cooler, you still have us." Big Paw said. "Sorry Big Paw, but I don't think so anymore." Cooler turns around.

"Cooler wait." Adam pleaded. "Where are you going?" Whopper asked as he and Adam were about to stop him. "Nowhere, far enough to disappear. See you around and Whopper. You're on your own." Cooler runs off. "Cooler-" Whopper wanted to prevent him from running, But it was too late. He already disappeared within the trees until he was no longer in sight.

"Just leave him Whopper, I think he needs to be alone right now. He's already made it clear to us." Adam said. "I-I guess." Whopper stuttered.

Back in the lab, after Bright eyes had a turn of being ferocious from the influence of the machine. She comes out, barking aggressively along with the others that got turned into ferocious guard dogs. "You get the mean machine, and bones. You put the mutts into the truck." Marvin gives orders to them. "Where are we going?" Lumpy wonders. "First we'll go to the pound, then we'll take the tunnel to the museum and that way, we won't trigger the alarms around the bone exhibit. Now hurry up!" He yells of course to motivate them.

Bones start to push the mean machine. "Be careful Lumpy, They're pretty worked up there." Bones attempts to warn his pal. Lumpy, like always, doesn't heed his warnings. "Yeah, well they'll do exactly what I want them to do." Lumpy whistles on command. Only to get crushed by a stampede of the angry dogs, Making their exit. Bones checks on Lumpy on the ground.

"Why did ya want them to do that Lumpy?" He said before going right back to the mean machine. While Lumpy puts his hand on his chin and fiddles his fingers on his belly in annoyance from his comment.

Meanwhile back outside of the castle. While they're standing there, wondering and worried for Cooler. They hear engines running. "Huh?" Hairball's ears perked up, and spit out a hairball. "What's that noise?" Adam wondered. The lights suddenly lit up and the truck appeared out of the garage area and zoomed past them. Oswin got a little glimpse of Marvin. "It seems this was the sounds of the engines from the truck. And I could have swore I saw the driver. I am assuming it may be Marvin himself." Oswin said. Adam, Whopper, Charlemagne, and Hairball also see the missing gang in the back of the truck. "Hey, all of our friends are in there." Hairball Points. "Where are they taking them?" Charlemagne added. "But most importantly, where are they going now?" Adam wonders.

"To the museum." A voice called. "Huh?" Everyone said. A mysterious silhouette appears before them. He walks up to them and fully reveals himself to be a fine young man. Consisting of a flat cap on his head, silver fabric leather jacket over a shirt that says: Knights. Showing the knight holding a lance and a shield. Everyone gasped at the sudden appearance. "And you are?" Oswin asks for his name. "Someone that's here to aid on your quest, and stop McNasty. For now just refer to me as Mr. L." He says.

"Wait just a second, how do we know we can trust you?" Whopper says, feeling skeptical about Mr. L. "At least give me a chance to explain on the way." Mr. L said. "As much as I like to bicker, but I think we should hurry and move out. And we'll hear your side of the story as we move along." Adam said. "Fair enough, we must hurry." Mr. L said. "We must head to the pound, we can't let him get away with this." Whopper said as he put his cap back on.

"Those guys make me mad, come on and hop on." Big Paw bends down to give them a ride as they climb on his back. "Looks like someone has found courage in their hearts." Oswin compliments. "Wait till I get my paws on them. Bright eyes says: "I shouldn't be afraid of anything." Big Paw recalls the advice he was given by her one time. "That's the spirit, she sure taught you well." Whopper says with a smile. "Let's go, we must make way to the pound." Oswin said. Adam realized something while thinking about it.

"Hey, is Jeff and Tammy still around at the pound?" Adam reminded them. Whopper eyes wide upon hearing that. "Jeff, Tammy! They may be in trouble if we don't hurry." Whopper said worriedly. "Hang on tight, it's gonna be a bumpy ride." Big Paw said. And so Big Paw and the gang on his back sprints onward. Following that truck.

Marvin drives as fast as he can, putting his foot on the gas pedal. Very determined to get to the museum. As he focuses his eyes on the road, someone taps his shoulder. He turns his head to Lumpy, who is the one that tapped his shoulder to get his attention. "What do you want? Can't you see we're on our way to destiny?" Marvin growled. "But I just have one question, boss." Lumpy said. "Very well, but make it snappy." Marvin replied.

"Well, uh, why are you so determined to be the king of everything anyway, why go this far?" Lumpy asked. Marvin raised his eyebrows hearing that. "Yeah, what are you trying to accomplish?" Bones chimed in. "It's not what I'm accomplishing, it's...to please my father." Marvin said. Lumpy and Bones looked at each other with their confused looks.

"Let me tell you my side of the story, my life of the meanest, awful father you could ever meet."

Flashback

"On the night of Christmas, I was given a beagle puppy. The very beagle you had seen back at my castle." Marvin held the beagle puppy, filled with joy as the puppy licked his face. "Ever since I first got him, we played fetch, catch, and even did some tricks." Teen Marvin throws the stick and the beagle goes to go get it. Puppy returned the stick to him. "Good boy, Hey dad, give it a try. It's very fun." Teen Marvin presents the wooden stick to his dad.

His dad ignores his presence, and just puffs his smoke from the cigarette and blows. Making a circle ring shaped smoke. "I offered to let him play with my dog, but all he does is just ignore me. He ignores my existence no matter how hard I try. And throughout all my life and years. Despite all of my efforts to impress him, and saying at least anything. He doesn't acknowledge me." Marvin presents his high school diploma.

"No matter my achievements, my degrees in science, mechanical, my talent at singing. He still refuses to look at me and my life's work." Marvin's dad waves him off. "Will you ever learn? Achieving good things will not move me. I see you as an embarrassment to the family." He walks off. Leaving Marvin devastated.

Meanwhile in his room. "This was the final straw." Marvin looks at all of his diplomas, the trophies, etc. "That was when I felt myself transform, into who you see me today. Mean, cruel, and nasty." Marvin seethe in rage, showing his fangs, knocking all of his things down. Stomping, and screaming in agony. Young Cooler, shivers under his bed. Cooler is soon spotted by Marvin, and puts on an evil smile. Putting his hands on his chin.

Flashback end

"So where's your pops?" Bones wondered. "Yeah, how come he hasn't shown up? Whatever happened to him?" Lumpy added. "My father has ascended, below. May he rest in peace and suffering." Marvin mourns. "Amen." Lumpy and Bones said. "Well, story time is over. We have arrived. Bones." Marvin hands him the quarter. "Make a call to our old pals at the phone booth Tell them it's time for a family REUNION!" Marvin orders him.

Back at the woods, Cooler is seen on his knees, his back against the big tree. Starting to breathe rapidly. He starts to hear voices in his head and starts to tremble from the cold wind rushing through him. "Fraud, fraud, Traitor, you forgot about me, you failed, failed...failed..." Cooler hears a mix of the voices, some of them were his friends.

He continues to shiver, tremble and even sniff. Suddenly, he started to go into a memory lane.

Flashback

Switching to Cooler back when he was a young beagle. "Come on, growl. Growl you useless dog, GROWL!" It was the voice of Marvin. Trying to teach him how to be bad, and mean. Some kid was playing with his ball, trying to get it when it rolled in front of him. "Scare him, it would be funny." Marvin tells him. Cooler returns the ball to the kid, and wags his tail. The kid grabs the ball and walks away as he waves to him.

"UGH, stupid dog. Too soft and too cool for that eh?" Marvin was about to raise his hand, Cooler bared his teeth in retaliation. "Mommy look, a dog." Said a little girl. Cooler looks to the child, and the female adult. "Don't go near them, I heard about him and his nasty dog." She said as she walked off until they were nowhere in sight. Marvin towers over him. "You see? Most dogs are deep down mean and voracious, remember it." Marvin laughs evilly.

Cooler steps back slowly in fear and runs away. "That's it keep running you puny mangy mutt." Cooler runs in the city, hearing those words echo in his mind. Cooler gets emotional thinking about his past, especially when he first showed his ugly self. That side he put that behind, never wanting to use this again. He walks down the streets, all alone.

"Hey Jeff look, a sad beagle." Cooler perked his head, seeing a girl. And a boy named Jeff ran behind her. Jeff looks worried when he sees the state he's in. "Let's bring him to the pound Tammy, he'll be safe and loved here." Jeff said. Jeff and the girl named Tammy put out their palms. "It's ok, we won't hurt you." Tammy assured.

Cooler hesitated for a moment, and he began to sniff her hand, and then to Jeff's. He realizes these two are actually nice. So he responds with a joyful bark. So he goes along with Jeff and Tammy. Later, they arrived at the dog pound. Cooler begins to shiver a little. Jeff sees him trembling from the cold weather. "Here, I have something warm for ya." Jeff gives him some clothing. Cooler sniffs, and picks it up. He figured out it was a black and blue straight jacket.

He starts to put it on, and looks at himself. Starting to admire himself. "Look at him, doesn't he look handsome in that jacket?" Tammy giggled. Jeff ponders. "I think I got something to add to his little personality." Jeff brings out something from his jacket pocket and goes to Cooler. "Here you go, I think this would match that jacket together." Jeff shows him some glasses. "I had this to show off at school, and I want you to have it"

Cooler smiles happily, and takes it. Tammy comes over to Cooler, with a tag in her hand. "I think I got just the name for him. Cooler, do you like that name?" Tammy asked. Cooler nods his head in response, liking that name very much. "I like it, then it's settled. Welcome to your new home, Cooler." Jeff said.

Flashback end

He kept hearing Those last words repeat, again and again. "Your new home, your new home." The pleasant memories he had treasured, the day he was found, started to help him feel at ease. He took a deep breath, and let his oxygen out calmly. He started to feel calm, relaxed, and composed. Washing the negative feeling within him. He started to look at the town he could see from a distance. The more he looked at it, the more he started to think that one place he called home, the pound. Cooler smiles, thinking about it.

Then his eyes widened in worry. "By dog. Big Paw, Adam, Whopper, the cats. Uh oh, they're on their own without a leader of the pound puppies. Cooler straightens his jacket, and combs his hair with a comb. "Wait for me gang, Cooler is on his way."

Cooler gets in his dog posture, and sprints in a hurry.
