Winter 13
Four more days!
My wedding was in four more days!
I squealed in delight, crossing yesterday's date from my calendar. My wedding day was getting closer, just like my daughter's arrival!
I felt her movements as I smiled. Though she keeps me up at night, knowing that she's healthy and thriving is worth it. I become worried when she doesn't move.
I looked over to the sound of hooves clip clopping down the pavement as a carriage stopped in front of the manor. I looked out the window, squealing in delight at Evelyn's figure leaving the carriage as I waddled as quickly as I could down the stairs. Ceci had opened the front doors of the manor for Evelyn's entrance.
"Evelyn! I'm so glad you could make it on such short notice!" I exclaimed.
"I'm glad that I'll be able to make your dress and attend the wedding! Father and Sofia will be attending as well; but they won't be arriving until the night before the wedding." Evelyn said with enthusiasm.
"Yes! I think everyone in our family will be attending. Except for Porcoline and Margaret. But they promised to stop by to see the baby." I said.
"I'm glad! I'll have to make a point to see the baby too after it's born. Now, you also want bridesmaid dresses for Dorothy and Julia too, right?" Evelyn asked as I nodded.
"Yes! The color scheme is silver, rose gold, ruby red, and sapphire blue. I was thinking ruby red with touches of silver for Julia's dress and sapphire blue with rose gold for Dorothy's dress." I said.
"Hm. Yes, I can definitely work with that. As for your wedding dress; do you have any ideas on what you want, Rosalind?" Evelyn asked as I blushed.
"I do want something fairy tale like. Maybe a ballgown like a princess?" I asked as Evelyn nodded.
"I think I have an idea for something that will be ballgown, look great on you, and coincide with the Winter Wonderland wedding theme. But first thing's first, I will need to take your measurements, considering the baby has gotten bigger. Dorothy and Julia's measurements are needed again too." Evelyn said, a smile grew on my face.
"Of course! Oh, and Dorothy is also going to have a baby!" I exclaimed.
"Oh? That's great! I have a gut feeling that your baby and her baby are going to be great friends!"
"Only if it's also a girl. Jack is very much an over protective father to our little girl." I said while giggling and rolling my eyes.
I lifted my fist to the door of the farmhouse, preparing to knock. Before I could strike, the door gently swung open; Jack jumped slightly in surprise upon seeing my face.
"You don't have to knock, Rosalind. You'll be living here soon!" He said with a smile on his face.
"That's true! But until then, I feel it'll be more polite to knock." I replied with a giggle.
"Whatever makes you comfortable." He said while chuckling. My fiancé embraced me tightly, kissing the top of my head.
"I was on my way to see Byron, do you wanna come with me?" He asked as I blushed. I wanted to be held by him a little while longer, but I do need to ask Dorothy and Julia to stop by the manor for Evelyn to get their measurements again.
"Yes. Evelyn does need to get Julia and Dorothy's measurements for their bridesmaid dresses." I said with a sigh.
"Uh…is something wrong?" Jack asked in concern.
"I just don't want you to let go of me." I said, a small blush rising up to my cheeks.
"There will be plenty of opportunities of me holding you." He broke our embrace, gazing into my eyes.
"And I'll definitely be holding our little cutie when she enters the world." He said softly as my lips curved into a loving smile.
I started panting slightly as Jack stopped in his tracks, causing me to stop as well.
"Are you doing alright?" He asked in concern as I blushed in embarrassment.
"Ye-yes, I'm just out of breath." I said, sighing loudly. Jack placed his arms at the back of my knees, and my back, picking me up princess style. He started walking again, only slower, while carrying me.
"We can rest on the bench for a moment." He said, walking closer to the fountain of the park. I blushed deeply.
"Uhm…th-thank you, Jack." I said softly. He seated me on the bench once we were close enough, taking a seat next to me as well.
"If you get too cold, let me know and I'll give you my coat as well." Jack said with such sincerity.
"Oh my god, Jack! I don't want you to freeze !" I scolded him.
"I'm tough enough. I don't want you getting a cold with our little cutie." He said, wrapping his arms around me. I felt so relaxed from Jack's protective embrace; my eyelids started to get heavy.
"R-Rosalind! Jack!" My eyelids snapped open as Jack and I looked over to see Dorothy rushing towards us from the west end of town.
"Dammit, Dorothy! I know you're excited but slow down ! I don't want you slipping with the baby!" Barrett scolded her, causing Dorothy to blush.
"S-sorry, honey. Sorry." Dorothy muttered sheepishly, placing her hands on top of her midriff as my eyes widened. She wasn't even that far along and she was already huge . She put me in mind of her mother when she was pregnant with Cammy.
"Ah, what are you so excited about, Dorothy?" Jack asked curiously, as Dorothy's face lit up.
"D-do you wanna start, Barrett?" She asked as Barrett blushed, a proud, delighted grin appeared on his face.
"We went to Alicia yesterday for a gender prediction!" Barrett exclaimed as Jack and I leaned in closer. Jack inhaled deeply, holding his breath.
"Oh? And?" I asked, eagerly awaiting the reveal.
"I-it's a girl !" Dorothy squealed with such delight that I couldn't help but squeal with her. Jack exhaled loudly.
"Good." I heard Jack say in relief as I rolled my eyes at him.
"That's wonderful, you two! I'm sure Clara and your daughter will get along very well!" I exclaimed as I saw Dorothy's cheeks tint pink.
"W-we've even chosen her name too. I-it's very pretty." She said softly.
"Well, what is it?" Jack asked curiously in anticipation.
"Cadence. Cadence Edith." Barrett said proudly.
"Oh! That is a beautiful name!" I exclaimed in awe. Clara started kicking as I giggled.
"I think Clara is excited to be able to meet and play with Cadence when they're old enough." I said with delight, knowing Jack will be on board with Clara playing with Cadence versus if they had a son.
"Ah, also, Barrett? Is your dad home?" Jack asked.
"Hm? Yeah, he's home." Barrett said, furrowing his brows. "Uh, is this about the documents you canceled a while back?"
"Yeah, it is." Jack said as Barrett gave a half-nod.
"In that case, he's expecting you." Barrett said, causing Jack to smile.
"Great!" He exclaimed.
"Oh, that reminds me! Dorothy, whenever you get a moment, would you gather Julia and stop by the mansion? Evelyn needs to get your measurements for the bridesmaid dresses!" I exclaimed.
"O-of course!" Dorothy exclaimed as Barrett started shaking.
"Ah, she doesn't need me, does she?" Barrett asked nervously as I blinked.
"Uh, yes. She'll need you and Jack again for your formal wear, but that doesn't have to be today. As long as she has it a few days before the wedding, it'll be fine." I stated.
"Yeah, I'd rather not." Barrett said as I glared at him.
"Do I need to get my brother to squawk at you again?" I asked as Barrett turned white.
"Uh…w-would tomorrow afternoon suffice for her?" Barrett asked as I nodded. Jack blinked at us in wonder.
"I still wanna know about that story." Jack said.
"Nope! I don't want you getting any ideas, Jack!" Barrett scolded as I snickered, rolling my eyes. I started to smile at my imaginative visions of Clara and Cadence playing! Oh, how wonderful the future was starting to look!
