Olivia had purposely avoided the OCCB office since Elliot started his UC assignment. She held no ill will against Bell or her team, she just always left the office missing Elliot.
However, today everyone left the precinct to chase down leads or checked out for personal reasons, and she became the only person left who could deliver information on their case. OCCB asked her to come days ago, but she procrastinated until now. It was time to get it over with.
She collected her notes on the case and hurried up the stairs. She kept her eyes down as she entered the squad room, in an attempt to curb the urge to stare longingly at Elliot's desk.
She probably should have watched where she was going because she ran straight into a wall of muscle. Two strong hands caught her upper arms to hold her steady.
Startled, her eyes darted up to find a familiar pair of blue eyes. Her surprised brain struggled to make words, but he broke the silence, "Hey Liv."
Damn him and his perfect crooked smile."Hey," she managed to spit out. Realizing their intense staring probably made everyone in the room uncomfortable, she took a step back.
Just then Sergeant Bell stepped down the stairs adjacent to her office."Captain," she said with surprise. "We didn't expect you today."
Obviously not, Olivia thought. She suspected Bell had intentionally kept Elliot away from her. She understood. He was UC, and she would be a distraction. Distractions threatened lives. She understood. "Uh, sorry. I finally found a minute to go over these notes with you."
She tried to focus on anything other than the blue eyes she knew were transfixed on the back of her head.
Ayanna looked a bit annoyed, but to her credit she was clearly holding back what Olivia imagined would be a more intense response. "Well, come on up." Ayanna waved her towards her office.
Olivia followed her in, leaving one more lingering look in Elliot's direction before shutting the door.
Ayanna sat and Olivia dropped the notes on her desk before settling into the chair across from her. Ayanna flipped through the pages and without looking up asked, "He didn't tell you he would be here did he?"
Ah. She wasn't annoyed with her. She was worried Elliot had broken cover to see her. "I haven't heard a word from him since he went under." Olivia said truthfully.
"Okay," Bell's eyes attempted to read hers, and she must have decided she was telling the truth because she quickly moved on. "Now, tell me what you think about these two cases…"

To say Elliot was surprised to see Olivia would be a massive understatement. He popped into the office for a quick update and he was leaving when he literally bumped into her.
He drifted to the corner office to discreetly watch her interaction with Ayanna. Three months. Three painful months had passed since he said goodbye that day in her office.
He stuffed his hand into his pocket and ran his fingers over the red ornament permanently stored there. The paint had worn down and now was less red and more of a faded pink.
He kept his eyes on Olivia as she stood and shook Ayanna's hand. He caught her gaze and motioned towards the back hallway. She gave him a discreet nod to indicate she understood.
He hurried ahead of her so it wouldn't be obvious they left together. A couple minutes later she found him leaning against the wall in the hall. She sauntered towards him, obviously trying to hide her smile. He stepped towards her, and dropped his hands on her hips before pulling her towards him. "I didn't expect to see you here."
"Me neither," she agreed. Her hands laid gently on his shoulders.
He leaned in close and closed his eyes. "I've missed you," he whispered.
She tightened her arms around him, "I missed you too." She brushed her lips lightly against his and his breath caught. His heart thundered in his chest, and he kissed her more firmly.
She opened her mouth for him and he deepened the kiss. She staggered back, pulling him with her until her back met the wall. She pulled away for a second, "we can't do this in the hallway," she breathed.
He eyed a rarely used interrogation room. It was mostly used as a waiting area for suspects waiting to be questioned. He slid his hand down her arm and grasped her hand, leading her towards the interrogation room.
The minute the door clicked shut her arms returned to their perch around his neck and her lips were hungry on his. He couldn't stifle the moan that escaped his lips when her tongue found his. His hands wandered down her back until they pressed on her ass. His lips ran the length of her neck until settling on her collarbone.
Her hands slid up his shirt, letting her fingers dance around the muscles of his back. With one movement, he lifted her from the floor and she wrapped her legs around his torso. He carried her to the table and set her in order to free his hands to brush the skin just beneath the hem of her shirt. She let out a soft hum and he let his wander further up her shirt until his palms were pressed flat against her abdomen. Her breathing became erratic, and she knew they needed to cool this down, but as his hands continued upward she lost any resolve.
They both groaned when his phone pinged five times in a row. He withdrew his hands and pressed his forehead to hers. They both took a minute to catch their breath before he said, "That's my UC phone."
Her lips ran across his once more before saying, "You better go."
He pecked her lips, "I feel like you're always saying that."
She chuckled, "well one of us needs to be a responsible adult."
He dropped a lingering kiss on her lips, "Overrated."
"You're impossible," she chuckled.
"But you love it," his lips ghosted hers.
She grinned before saying. "Yeah. I really do."
