Furio paced back and forth in the throne room, his thoughts turned to the viewing screen. Over the last few days they had Stingwingers searching around the city and areas of the planet to try to find something for the device, but every time they had thought they found a proper way to track the power it was proven fruitless. "At this rate we'll need to hold a magnet to even hope to find something of use," Furio spoke, turning again just as Starcog entered the room. "Starcog, report!"

"Yes, Furio," Starcog spoke, moving to the screen as he did so. After keying in several numbers into the screen, the screen soon turning to the Dinosaur Zoo, a jeep moving in. "While we haven't been able to get a clear visual on any specific parts, we have found that this group of people have been coming and going from the area near where the gate is. As we were watching today, they had brought with them this device."

As Starcog reiterated, the camera zoomed in on Kendall, or more specifically the device in her hand. "A device you'll need to find the key then," Furio spoke, walking up to the screen and placing his hand to where the device was pictured. "How easily can we reach it?"

"Not so easy, it's placed somewhere we can't find immediately, so by the time we'd reach it we'd have the Magna Defender or those Rangers right on us," Starcog spoke, the screen soon showing the zoo in a current showing. "We have, however, discerned a potential location of where it may be placed in this building thanks to the consistency of how the workers here have gone to."

"But it's not in a place we can reach without drawing attention," Furio spoke to himself as he looked to the screen. "What do we know of the workers here?"

"Not much at the moment, but they don't seem as if they'd be much of a threat," Starcog responded, the screen moving towards the area in front of the location, where an auburn-haired man was just walking out. "However, we could use their next trip to the tunnels in order to catch them unaware, and have a monster distract the rangers while we go to steal the device ourselves."

Furio looked to the Zoo, his mind going over the idea before he turned to Starcog and nodded. "Have Radstar cause the distraction when we find out the location, I will be the one who will personally take the device," Furio spoke, soon walking back to his thrown before he sat back down, looking to the screen. "I've had enough sitting in the sidelines, it's time I make an example…"

-Kendall, Amber Beach Dinosaur Zoo, Kendall's Office-

Kendall sighed as she leaned back in her chair. She had been going over the current readings of the gateway but couldn't see anything that could help with the situation. To add to that, the scan of the doorway they saw wasn't enough to view everything to begin with, so if she wanted to look over it more than she'd need to head back over there again. "And still nothing from Ivan," Kendall muttered to herself as she looked to the communications device, the area silent since her message to Ivan to ask about the person. However, Keeper was also against the idea of the question for the version of Ivan they knew.

'This painting has knowledge of an event directly tied to Ivan's own history, we could end up majorly changing the past if we tell him about it,' Keeper had said shortly after the idea to ask Ivan came up. 'While we were able to change time in order to save the earth before, the same can't be said for what might happen if we affect an area so close to our time.'

"But what are we supposed to do if we can't ask Ivan about the image," Kendall spoke to herself, looking over the scans of the materials of the doorway. "It would be much easier if we had something to help with the situation more.

As Kendall looked over the notes over the last reading, she heard a knock at her door that snapped her out of her thoughts. "Ms. Morgan, I've got the current finance sheet for today's sales," came Eric's voice, making her sigh before she set the notes down.

"Sure, bring them in," Kendall spoke before the door opened, Eric coming in with the papers he said he had. However, what confused her was the meal that was sitting above it on a tray. "What's that?"

"This is lunch, seeing as you skipped it four days straight mulling over whatever you've been looking at from that trip for the past week," Eric spoke as he set the tray down, moving the papers from under to rest beside it as he directed his free hand to the meal. "As for what it is, Roasted Chicken baked in a Zandarian style, spanning back to four centuries ago with hints of garlic, paprika, and a dash of vanilla from the New world that made it's way over. Also with a side of modern day French fries."

"So another one of your stress relief meals from that old family cookbook of yours," Kendall asked, looking over to Eric as he kept his smile to her. She then sighed as she set the papers down, pulling the tray up as Eric moved over to one of the walls beside a bookshelf and leaned back into it. "You always seem to know when something's bothering any of us, don't you?"

"Comes with working with you guys for so long," Eric responded as he looked over to the papers. "I would've made soup instead so it could be shared with everyone, but the store was out of the ingredients I wanted for it. So in improvisation, best option came from the chicken that was on sale in the store, so it ended up being a few hours longer to cook and took up my free time before work."

"Well, it's certainly something to help with the situation," Kendall spoke as she took a bite of the meal, the tenderness noting itself as she looked over to Eric. "How's your brother doing at the moment?"

"Right now he's on his way back home, without giving a proper goodbye as per his usual," Eric answered, nodding to her as he crossed his arms. "However, that didn't stop him from gushing about the appearance of the Ebony Knight of Zandarian legend appearing last week, though."

"Ebony knight," Kendall asked, taking a moment to stop eating to look over to Eric confused. "Are they part of an important set of legends?"

"Mainly for those who like to read through myths like myself or a few others, if you remember what my job resume had," Eric responded, making Kendall nod as she kept her gaze on him.

"Right, you majored in Zandarian History and Mythology," Kendall spoke, absent mindedly picking up one of the fries as she thought through something. "Were there any notable tales about the knight?"

"Depends on what you find as your fancy," Eric responded, pushing himself off the wall as he lowered his arms. "For instance, there's the Duel of Gold and Ebony where the Ebony Knight faced off against Sir Ivan, or the tales of Scarlet and Azure where he appears in more as an aid to the main figures of that legend. I can tell those stories in detail if you'd like."

"Maybe later, though it is interesting that the armored man on the news is considered to be that legend," Kendall responded, looking over to her food before she continued eating. Eric just stood there silent before turning to leave, when a thought went into Kendall's head. "…By chance though, is there a legend of him guarding a doorway?"

"Guarding one, no, but there is one which he created," Eric responded, turning back to Kendall. "It's a tale that actually ties to another legend that came from the Battle of Steel and Fang, which from the looks of things may have more precedence than before."

"Battle of Steel and Fang," Kendall asked, looking back up to Eric confused. "I don't think I've heard of it."

"Not surprising given the time period it's placed in is considered more myth than reality, though the appearance of the knight should change that opinion now," Eric responded, soon walking back over before he stopped at the chair in front of her desk, leaning on it. "It's the battle in which Zandar was almost destroyed by a neighboring country which had let loose a massive force of dinosaurs and, if you believe the writings of the time, insect-like monsters. According to the legend, there was a book that the kingdom of Zandar kept for the knight, for which the monsters joined forces with the neighboring kingdom in order to obtain, but after the battle he took it and hid it in a distant land, sealing it away with a key. Ironically enough, there are several theories that say that the gate itself resides somewhere around here since there were some items from Zandar found over in the mountains, some areas believed to bear writings in ancient Zandarian."

"I see," Kendall spoke, poking her food as she was in thought before she looked back up to Eric. "I'm thinking of heading back to the area we found last week, but I can't ask the others as there are too many jobs for them to leave unattended at the moment. Would you be interested in coming instead?"

"If It means taking a break from cooking after the last major groups of people that came in the past week? I'm all for it," Eric responded, pulling his chair back and sitting down as he looked over to Kendall with a smile, curiosity clearly in his gaze as she looked over to him. "So then, what is it we'll be looking over?"

"Just a gate which could tie into the one you were talking about just before," Kendall responded as she looked up at him with a smile, soon giggling at his change to shock before she went back to her food. Then, looking back up at him she pointed her knife at him. "So this meal's recipe will be popping up during the next set of texts from that book you've been keeping to yourself, correct?"

"Oh, uh, sure, same as usual," Eric responded, shaking himself out of his shock as Kendall pulled out her phone, typing into it as Eric looked over. "Uh, what are you doing?"

"Telling the others in a group text that they'll have to manage things while I go with you to look over the area again," Kendall responded, soon looking up to Eric with a smile. "There may be something for them to work with over here, and I don't think I've been able to talk to you enough outside of work either, at least not outside of the meals you talk to me about when you make them."

"Ah, I see," Eric responded, shaking his head as he processed the situation before he picked himself up. "Well, I'll do what work I can over at the kitchen till you need me, Ms. Morgan. Don't know when we'll need an extra pair of hands, after all."

"Okay," Kendall responded, watching Eric leave before she remembered something. "Wait, how did the duel end between the knight and Sir Ivan?"

Eric stopped shy of the door, turning back to her with a smile. "It ended in a draw, and with the two later becoming the best of friends, if you believe the legend anyway," Eric responded before he left the room. Then, after silence followed shortly after, Kendall began to eat.

-Scorpion Stinger, twenty minutes later-

"Furio, there's movement at the zoo," Starcog spoke, snapping Furio out of his thoughts as he picked himself up, walking over to the screen as he looked over where it overlooked. "Looks like only two individuals are moving at the moment, but they have the item we wanted with them."

"Excellent, Radster, grow and make sure you get the attention of the Rangers and the Magna Defender," Furio spoke as he drew his weapon, turning from the screen as he watched a vehicle leave out of the zoo, Eric and Kendall both being inside it as Radster moved from behind him to prepare to teleport to the planet. "And have the Stingwingers prepare to go with me to get in the way of their path. We are certain they have the scanner with them, correct?"

"Indeed sir," Starcog responded as he typed into the viewing screen, it's camera soon zooming into the Jeep to show a scanner sitting in between the two. "If we get this set right, the device should be ours within the next hour."

"Excellent," Furio spoke, pointing his blade to Starcog. "Keep an eye on those two and prepare the Stingwingers. We'll deal with them when we can be the least inconvenienced on the matter."

"Then it'd probably be best to deal with them the moment they get into the cave, that way we can make sure they can't escape." Starcog suggested, making Furio nod before he turned back to the screen.

"Then do that, but make sure we have our ambush ready for them, I'd like to personally make the demand," Furio spoke, keeping his gaze on the moving jeep.

-Eric and Kendall, Amber Beach Forest-

Eric's mind raced as he sat beside Ms. Morgan, his mind not so much focused on the destination they were heading but the person he was sitting beside. 'You'll both be fine, it's not like you'll be in any trouble with her around,' Chase had told him when he was talking to him about the situation, his facade of a calm face broken the moment he had left Ms. Morgan's office. 'It's not like Kendall is planning to leave you out there alone or anything.'

'But that's not what I'm worried over,' Eric thought before he looked to Ms. Morgan as she drove them along, the sun above seeming to set her features to him before he shook his head, focusing back on the road. 'No, this is fine, it's just a regular expedition over some area that they found last week, albeit with Ms. Morgan, but still...'

There was a reason Eric focused on calling Kendall 'Ms. Morgan' while the rest of the staff called her Kendall, and that was due to the feeling it put in his chest every time he did. It wasn't something he wanted to admit to himself, though he did accept the fact that it was more than likely a crush for the person he knew was his boss, and the feeling still resided despite him trying to push it down and away. "Just focus on the job," Eric muttered to himself in a whisper, the sound inaudible compared to the jeep they were driving as he looked over to Kendall, now speaking louder. "So how far are we till we reach the area, Ms. Morgan?"

"Just a few more minutes," Kendall responded as she kept her eyes on the road, soon hearing her communicator go off as she took a turn, making her slow down for the moment and pull it out to look over the item. 'One of the Aliens we fought reappeared in the center of the city, but it looks like everyone else is moving in to deal with him,' Kendall thought to herself as she looked at the screen, a blip showing Radster appearing on a map of town, the other rangers leaving the zoo to get to him. As she pondered over what to do, she looked over to Eric as he looked over to her worried. 'I'll have brought him over for nothing if I cancel the trip now, and it's not like I'd be able to easily get there after we make it...'

"Everything okay," Eric asked, looking over to Kendall confused as she put the communicator down. As Kendall looked back up from the communicator, thinking over the situation, she finally nodded.

"Something seems to have come up over back at the zoo, so I'll need to call them after we make it here," Kendall responded, making Eric nod as he looked back to the road. Then, as the drive started up again, Kendall continued. "So then, you're pretty sure the guy that's been popping up is the Ebony Knight from Zandar's Legend?"

"Definitely, he matches the description in the duel between him and Sir Ivan," Eric responded as they turned into a pass that led into a valley, signalling their finally transition to reach the cavern. "'His armor black as knight yet with silver lining, the gems upon it shining with an emerald hue. His horns, a gold that held the strength of a bull behind them, and a seal on one shoulder from a forgotten time.' Or, at least that's how the story describes him. And given the description of the seal which is drawn on a direct copy of the written legend matches what is seen on his shoulder pad, I'm given to believe he's the genuine article. Ironically enough, though, in one of the books that detail his legends there's talk of him being able to summon a giant bull to battle."

"There's a book about him," Kendall asked, making Eric look over to her with a smile before he nodded. Then, as the pass started to widen, they could see the entrance of the cave. "Do you know if there's a copy that can be read online?"

"I can actually do you one better and get you a physical copy of the book," Eric spoke as they turned into the cave, Kendall soon stopping as she looked over at him. "It was one of the books I had done my last paper on the subject of Old Zandar with and ended up having to buy it personally at the time since there weren't any copies near the university, though there will be notes written every here and there that tie it to other periods..."

"That would be fantastic," Kendall responded, soon looking over to her communicator as she saw it go off again. "Hey, Eric, can you go into the cave first and have the scanner look over the gate? I need to call the others and see just what they need me for. You'll just need to follow the red marks."

"No worries, just run in if we need to get back fast," Eric responded as he picked up the bag holding the scanner, nodding to Kendall before he turned and left to the cave. Kendall kept her gaze on him as Eric entered, and didn't pick up her communicator till he was out of sight, soon looking to a morphed Tyler.

"Tyler, I saw the alien biosign on my morpher," Kendall spoke, looking over past him to see a fire blasting past. "What's happening over there?"

"The monster grew giant over here, and we have the Zords currently out but he's running from them more than fighting," Tyler responded as he looked over at the screen. "Where's Eric?"

"He's further in the cave with the scanner, I wanted him to go on ahead so I could answer you guys," Kendall responded, looking over to the cave before looking back. "Do you guys need the Plesio Zord to help with him?"

"No, that's what's weird," Tyler responded, soon turning his screen over to what Kendall was expecting was a fight. Instead, however, she saw Radster moving away from the group of Zords, taking whatever openings he had and getting out of being surrounded by them. "It doesn't look like he's even fighting, more like he's-"

"Stalling..." Kendall responded, soon hearing a sound like a beam before she immediately ran into the cave, soon peaking out to see Stingwingers appearing around the car as a large monster with flaming red skin and a yellow head landed in front of it, looking it over.

"Look over the jeep in case they left the scanner in there, I want to make sure we don't miss it," the monster spoke, looking to the cave where Kendall was peaking from before she ducked her head, moving further in as she heard him continue. "Once that's done, move in to grab them."

"Kendall, what's happening," Tyler asked, looking over confused as Kendall started running, keeping the communicater in front of her.

"Deal with the monster fast, it looks like they're after me and Eric," Kendall responded, moving further into the cave and in the path she remembered as the red lights moved past her. "There's another monster here with a group of Stingwingers, and something about him gives me worse vibes than the guys we saw before."

"On it, stay safe," Tyler responded, soon shutting off his communicator as Kendall set hers on her side, running along the path of the lights as she did so. As she ran, she soon found Eric casually walking down the path, looking over the caves before he turned over to her steps.

"Hey, when I said run in I didn't expect you to take it literally," Eric joked as he saw her, his smile soon fading as he saw the worry on her face as she stopped in front of him, panting. "What's wrong, Ms. Morgan?"

"We have some company outside," Kendall spoke, looking back over towards where she came from and with a bit of worry as she tried to listen for any other set of footsteps. "It looks like they're after the scanner, from what they said."

"What kind of company, the science committee," Eric asked in a half-joking manner, the look on his face showing otherwise as he kept his gaze on the way Kendall came, soon reaching over and taking her hand. "Either way, staying here won't do us any good. Let's head deeper in, maybe we'll find another exit."

Then, without giving Kendall time to respond, he turned and started walking again, this time faster as he pulled a surprised Kendall along. "Deeper," Kendall asked, looking over towards Eric confused as he continued pulling her along, holding her hand. "What makes you think that's safe?"

"Absolutely nothing, but it's better than saying hi to whoever's out there," Eric responded as he continued leading the way before they made a turn that would eventually reach the gate on the next left. However, as they continued the path he suddenly took a right turn into a darker area, pulling out his phone before he turned on the light on it. "Even if that means trekking off the known path."

Kendall just looked at Eric confused, noting the tightness he was holding her hand as they began walking further, soon hearing the resounding of other steps as Eric started moving faster, tugging the two into a light jog. After a while, however, Kendall soon was running beside him evenly "You don't need to pull me along, I can run just fine," Kendall spoke, making Eric blush slightly as he let go of her hand, thankful for the lack of light as the two moved further in before they soon stopped at a crossway, the sounds of the steps behind them faint but echoing. "Well then, where to now?"

Eric just looked over the walls, as if trying to find something, before his phone caught the slightest glimpse of light reflecting off of the left wall. "Left it is then," Eric spoke as he was about to take Kendall's hand before he stopped, soon putting his hand into his pocket before beginning his light jog with her beside him again. As they continued down, Kendall looked over at him confused as he kept his gaze on the walls around them. Soon, however, they found themselves in another crossway, Eric shining the light around again before he saw something on the right that made him nod. "Okay then, so it's not a fluke, good..."

-Furio-

Furio paced within the cavern entryway of the gate, looking over the area as his Stingwingers started searching through, some having moved out into the deeper ends of the tunnels as Starcog moved over to him. "Starcog, report," Furio spoke, pointing his blade to the monster. "Where did they go?"

"Our situation seem to indicate that they are moving further in the mountain, having taken to going further into the tunnel system," Starcog responded as he looked over to the entrance of the area. "There are several other tunnels that can connect here, as I noted when I was looking through before to find the gate, but I only know of four other entryways that can reach the gate from our last lookover of the area."

"Then take some Stingwingers and move to the other entry points so we can find them faster," Furio spoke as he threw his hand out, making Starcog nod before he started turning. "And tell me the furthest entrance from this place. If they want to make a mockery out of us, then I'm going to make sure I can deal with them myself."

-Tyler-

"This guy just doesn't want to stay still," Tyler spoke as he watched Radster running around. During the course of their chase of the giant monster, they had ended up combining zords in order to keep a close area to him and push the monster out of the city and to the mountain, but they were still a good distance away. "We'll never get to Kendall and Eric at this rate."

"Ah, looks like Furio's plan is working perfectly, Uh-huh," Radster spoke as he stopped for a moment, firing his blaster at the Megazord and grazing it as he turned. Before he could continue, however, he heard a roar that shook the trees, making the Megazord and monster stop as a black form moved forward to the situation in a rapid pace. "And finally, the main reason for my ruse to succeed has finally arrived."

"What is that," Shelby spoke, the rangers looking over from inside the zord as the form began to reveal it's full self, the golden horns shining in the sun as a giant metal bull charged into the area. "A bull?"

As the group continued watching, a form jumped down from the top of the bull's head before a red beam came out of it's eyes, enlarging the person into a large red knight, standing as tall as the Megazord and Radster. "And finally, we have the Magna Defender on the stage," Radster spoke, moving his blaster to the red figure and firing. However, the knight jumped up onto the bull's back dodging the blast, grabbing the chained reigns on it as he landed.

"Nathan is going to owe me even more now than before for this, won't he Torozord," the knight spoke before he snapped the reigns charging the bull into Radster, flipping the giant monster back as he turned to the Rangers. "Furio's already at the gate searching for whatever that zoo of yours has here, so go help them! I'll stay back here and deal with Radster so he doesn't do anything to interrupt you!"

Tyler just looked at the knight confused before he shook his head, nodding. "Sure, we'll leave him to you," Tyler responded before he looked to the others, who nodded. "Let's go guys!"

"Hey man, you're not the right guy," Radster grunted as the knight pulled out the two swords on Torozord's back, jumping off again and landing in front of the monster as the Rangers left behind him in the megazord. "You're that punk from Magnus."

"If you're talking about three thousand years ago, then I bet you're refering to my father Zafa," Zika responded as he pointed one of the swords to the monster. "But more importantly, I wonder if you smash like the lobsters on this planet."

-Eric, Kendall-

"What are you looking for," Kendall asked as she followed behind him down the set of tunnels, this one being the fourth time they went into it. Eric keeping his gaze over the running path before they found themselves at another crossway, this time with three paths. As Eric shined his light over each pathway, Kendall noticed another flash of light that she could actually tell the origin of: a small golden sword drawn on the wall that would be hidden if otherwise looked at. Eric simply nodded as he walked up to the area the sword symbol was on, placing his hand under it to emphasize it's appearance. "What's that meant to be."

"The sword insignia on the wall was an old Zandarian symbol, being one of two symbols signaling a safe route for soldiers going through tunnel systems eight hundred years ago," Eric spoke as he took his hand off the wall, soon running along they ran through the tunnel, soon taking an upward pass that felt as if they were rising up with the mountain as he kept his gaze on the walls around them. As Kendall did the same, she soon noticed that there were similar swords put in a certain distance from each other. "I figured that since the gate you mentioned seemed to tie in with the Ebony Knight from what you told me, and with the fact that you thought my thoughts on the history would help figure out the gate, then there was bound to be something that could help determine multiple paths for exits just in case."

"That's quite the stretch to go through with it," Kendall responded as they soon found themselves at another crossroads, this time with one tunnel going up while the other went down. "What if we couldn't find our way out from this?"

"Then I'd try my best to at least get you out of here," Eric responded as he looked over each side of the wall, looking over for any symbols as he did so. Kendall also pulled out her phone and turned on the light on it, searching the wall as well. "I figured if we could at least lose them in here then we could retrace our steps more than anything, or at least hope for finding an exit along the way. I'm just glad my thoughts on the matter were correct, given that the symbols themselves were said to be made by a wandering swordsman and Sir Ivan during their time fighting side by side."

"That's still reckless," Kendall responded as she looked over the wall, soon finding the gold sword insignia on it. Above it, however, was a faded symbol that looked to be of a green star. "Eric, I found a sword symbol on my end, but there's something else here as well."

"Same for me, so it looks like both are safe routes to get out by," Eric responded as he tapped a part of the wall he was at, soon turning to walk over to Kendall as he listened to the sounds, or in this case the lack of them. "And it looks like we've hit enough distance from those creatures to have a breather anyway. What symbol did you find?"

"Over here," Kendall responded, pointing to the faded green gem above the sword, which made Eric's eyes widen as he looked at it. "Do you know what it means?"

"Gems usually meant a form of treasure in the area, but they normally were painted in a similar fashion to the swords, certain ranks dictating the value of them," Eric spoke as he looked at it, tilting his head as he put his hand on it. "The shape of the gem here, however, is of a different ranking than the green is meant to show. Does that mean it's a personal calling card for something? And there's another symbol hidden in it, but really faded..."

As Eric kept looking at the drawing, Kendall soon heard footsteps moving towards them again, this time sounding closer and from a different area as she looked to the other entryway they had seen. "They're coming from this end now," Kendall spoke, soon taking Eric's hand and pulling him down into the lower path, interrupting his thoughts as they continued their run through the area. "They must have started trying for other tunnels to find us!"

"Oh come on, that's just not fair," Eric responded as they ran together through the area as he looked back from where they came from. "How on earth do they know about any other entrance?"

"We can worry about that later, right now we need to go," Kendall responded before they found themselves in another set of three paths, making her stop and look around as Eric moved to keep his balance. Then, as Kendall, kept looking, he went and poked her shoulder with his free hand.

"Uh, Ms. Morgan, I think I'd be able to help find the pathway better if we aren't holding hands," Eric spoke, making Kendall look at him confused before her eyes widened, letting go of his hand as she looked back to the pathway again. "Thank you. However, we do need to focus on the area around us again and faster now, if they're trying to find us by different tunnels."

Eric and Kendall continued searching over the walls for the left and middle tunnels, the sounds of footsteps getting louder again before Eric spoke. "Found a sword in the wall, this one with a symbol above it again," Eric spoke as he stepped back, looking over to Kendall. "This time it's a red rhino above it."

"I found one too, but there's nothing above it," Kendall responded, making Eric nod as he looked to the last tunnel they didn't check, the one on the far right.

"Then that leaves the last tunnel, which given our current situation may still be a safe location in some shape or form," Eric spoke before they heard the footsteps getting louder again. Then, Eric grabbed Kendall's hand before he started to pull her towards the left side, before stopping as he looked on ahead. "And looks like left is a bust again, middle it is."

Kendall just looked past him to notice several forms moving in the light, making her eyes widen before Eric pulled her into the middle tunnel, the two running along it as they heard the sounds behind them. "They'll catch up to us before long," Kendall spoke as they took a slanted path, Eric flashing his light over the area before they made it into another crossway. Eric simply flashed the light over the wall for a second before he pulled her with him towards the right tunnel. "Is that another sword tunnel?"

"With the symbol the rhino," Eric responded, soon letting go of her hand as they continued their run again, this time his freehand moving to the bag. "Though with the fact they're starting to make it to the areas while we're running, it might not be long before they catch us if we keep to the paths inside."

"Then what are we supposed to do," Kendall asked before they stopped at a new intersection, this one now having what looked to be a sliding drop to the right as Eric looked over to the other tunnel's wall. Kendall did the same for the rightway tunnel before she noted a sword and rhino insignia again. "Looks like this goes deeper in again, and to whatever the rhino's leading to..."

"Yeah, and this looks like it's an open way," Eric spoke as he shined his light through the tunnel to the left, soon taking off his backpack holding the scanner before walking over to Kendall. "Can you see the end of the slide on the right side?"

"Not really, looks like it slants enough to be easy to go down, and the stone looks remarkably smooth for however long the seal would've had to been put here," Kendall responded as she looked back to Eric before he pulled out the scanner, setting the backpack down and handing it to her as he looked down the place. "Uh, Eric, why are you giving me this?"

"Just an idea to make sure they can't reach you or it, since that's apparently what they're after," Eric said as he looked to the way they came, the sounds of steps popping up again as he looked down the slide. "Judging from how hard they're expecting us to run, I have a feeling not that many will be thinking of following the slide down into a deep dark slide down the line. So by theory, if we split up here with you going down and me continuing the running path, they'll mainly follow me here on in."

"We can't just split up here, what if-" Kendall started before she felt a push on her back, pushing her down the slope as Eric looked back to the way they came, picking his backpack back up. "Eric!"

"You worry over your end, I'll see if I can't keep these guys focused on me," Eric spoke to himself in a whisper, not wanting to give away his idea before he made sure he could see the creatures moving in the tunnel from the light, holding up the bag. "Hey, you lot want this? Well come and get it!"

With that he turned and ran down the left tunnel, hearing a sound of affirmation as the creatures seemed to be swarming for him down the tunnel. 'Well, at least I managed to get their attention and keep it from Ms. Morgan,' Eric thought as he ran down the tunnel, his eyes now checking over each area faster than he had with Kendall before he noted a symbol of a black box under a gold sword on a rightward tunnel, making him smirk as he took it, his free hand moving to the items in his pocket.
