Chapter 2 First Order
"NO PLEASE I'M BEGGING YOU! NOOOO!"
Sean woke up with a gasp as he looked around the room before sighing as he held his face.
Motoko was watching the security camera in his room with a concerned look.
"Not good huh?" Batuo asked walking in seeing the look.
"He keeps waking up like that every hour. Nightmares no doubt about what happened to him and the others." Motoko said.
"Thats to be expected." Aramaki said walking in. "I've contacted the American Empire. Sean's father is on his way and he's less than happy about his son's condition that was forced on him." Aramaki said.
"Well, what did you expect? I would have been furious if my kids were in this condition." Motoko said getting up.
"Where are you going?" Batuo asked.
"Taking him out for a while." Motoko said as she left making him grin.
"I think she's got some feelings for the kid." Batuo said.
Later
"Thanks for getting me out of there. I was about to lose my fucking mind." Sean said rubbing his face as they sat at a table.
"From the looks of things you look like you're going through a Drug withdraw." Motoko said.
"Good guess. Our bodies couldn't naturally adjust to the augmentations and procedures done on us so they created drugs to help us adapt to them and just kept giving us the drugs even when our bodies had finally adapted to the changes." Sean said.
"I see. I guess that explains why you were waking up every hour." Motoko said.
"Ah. No just remembering the screams. I had no issues when it came to the procedures but the others not so much. I had a better tolerance to it than the others." Sean said as their food arrived. "Oh this is way better then the crap they served in the labs." Sean said making her smile.
"I'll bet. What did they have you eat? Military rations?" Motoko asked.
"Worse. They injected Nutrients into our bodies so we never actually ate anything. It sucked." Sean said before two punks walked to them.
"Your one of the freaks from those labs aren't you?"
Sean sighed knowing this was gonna happen.
"Beat it." Motoko said.
"Or what you gonna make me?"
Sean's hands were engulfed in flames making them back up.
"Leave...Now." Sean said making them run off. "Fucking idiots." Sean said.
"Their just punks. They always like to pick a fight. By the way you do realize you have a brother who in the labs with you right?" Motoko asked.
"Oh?" Sean asked.
"His name was David." Motoko said making him frown looking away before her eyes widened slightly. "He wasn't..." Motoko tried to say.
"Hmm? Oh no. He wasn't Grid." Sean said laughing lightly making her sigh in relief. "No Grid's name was Alex back in the day. He gave himself the name Grid after he became what you saw him as. I did know someone named David back in the day sure. I just don't know if it was my brother. Don't forget there were a lot of us in the project. So there was bound to be people with the same name." Sean said.
"I guess that makes sense. Still we'll help you find him." Motoko said making him smile.
"I appreciate that." Sean said.
"So what will you do? The world could need people like you. Grid won't be the only one who may end up the way he did and there are still those who funded the project." Motoko said.
"Yes...That is true. I plan to expose them for what they have done. As for the world however like I said before I have no interest in being some agent of Super hero." Sean said making her giggle. "Whats so funny?" Sean asked.
"I think you might want to reconsider on that." Motoko said pointing behind him making him look seeing a large screen showing him fighting Grid and won.
"Oh." Sean said.
"You may not want to be a secret agent or Hero but you clearly can't leave things alone knowing you can help. Otherwise you wouldn't have helped me and Section 9 when you did." Motoko said.
"Well...I suppose thats true." Sean said.
Later
Motoko watched as Sean and his father talked in a private room.
"So whats gonna happen?" Motoko asked.
"He'll most likely return home. The other children are starting to reconnect with their families as well. Most are wanting to put all this behind them while others want to use their gifts to do some good in the world." Aramaki said.
"Oh yeah? I guess I can't say I'm surprised." Motoko said as Sean walked in. "Well?" Motoko asked.
"He's wanting me to come back home as we look for David. He just wants his family back together after 16 years apart." Sean said.
"And you?" Motoko asked.
"Well...I haven't decided just yet. But theres gonna be a meeting here in a few days regarding the project and many of those people who helped create it will be there." Sean said.
"So you'll expose them all." Aramaki said.
"Yes. Finally put this nightmare behind me and everyone else." Sean said.
"Good. They all deserve the smallest cell possible for what they did. Turning children from birth into living weapons." Motoko said.
"That wasn't the original aim for the project. The original goal was to improve the human body to what we are now. But they got greedy with power and the idea of selling us off as weapons. But thats about to come to light. I know everyone who was involved with the project. It'll most likely force governments to imprison these individuals since they'll face ridicule if they don't." Sean said.
"How many are we talking here?" Batou asked.
"Most of the most important higher ups in the governments of the world. Including some in Japan." Sean said.
"Heh! If it means less idiots giving us orders I'm all for it." Batuo said
"Do keep in mind once that information gets out there will be temporary chaos." Motoko said.
"Ah. We can handle it easily." Batuo said.
"Never assume anything." Sean said.
Later
With everyone completely assembled there was complete chaos since everyone Sean knew was part of the project were making outrageous demands.
"These vile disgusting beings need to be put down. Every man, woman and Child!" A Chinese ambassador yelled.
"I concur! They all need to be destroyed." An American Senator said.
"Is it really because you hate us or perhaps you're trying to cover your tracks since you were all part of that project." Sean said making them freeze.
"Part of the Project?" A British senator asked.
"I have a list of people here who not only supported the project but also gave equipment to the people in charge of it as well as lists of children both recently born and very young to kidnap because they hated the parents." Sean said as his eyes turned blue before various names appeared on the screens as well as video of these people being involved in the project.
"YOU!" Tom yelled seeing his rival was on the list who tried to run had Sean not shot him in the leg when his right arm turned into a blaster.
"AHH!"
"I always knew you had something do with them vanishing!" Tom yelled.
"You ruined my life when you got my son killed!"
"Your son knew the risks of the mission! You should have been proud he had such courage. He would be ashamed of you." Tom said as security barged in before arresting everyone on the list as they screamed they had done nothing wrong.
"As you can all see your governments and allies are not who they all appear to be. There is corruption even within the highest ranks." Sean said.
"What was the purpose of this project?" A Senator from Russia asked.
"The original purpose was to improve the human body and show how far science could go. To solve any and all problems the world has faced. But the ones in charge of the project got greedy. Started making modifications to us that turned us into living weapons. The only one who remained faithful to the project's original goal...Was my handler who is the reason we all escaped. Grid became enraged by what had happened to him and the others. So he wanted to start the world over from scratch." Sean said.
"By nuking all of us?" A German Scientist asked skeptical.
"Ask yourselves this...If you had gone through what we all did...What would you have done if you were in Grid's place? Just move on...Or would you want Revenge?" Sean asked making them all look at each other. "I wanted a simple life after I escaped. But I knew Grid needed to be stopped. Aramaki convinced me to act and stop him before it was too late. And now there are millions like me out there. Many of them are young children or infants. With powerful gifts. If Grid had succeeded he knew our kind would repair the damage and bring a new order. One where what happened to all of us would never happen again." Sean said.
"You make it sound as if you all could live forever."
"Some of us can yes...Those of my level were given a special serum that expanded the lifespan forever. The sciences and biology of our bodies...Anything is possible." Sean said shocking them all. "Before anyone asks no we're not gonna give that kind of immortality to the world. If we did overpopulation would spiral out of control. It has to be earned. Not given." Sean said.
"I agree."
"As do I."
After that Sean was outside as he sighed holding his face.
"You ok?" Motoko asked sitting next to him.
"Course. Just tired." Sean said.
"So...What are you gonna do when this is over?" Motoko asked.
"I have no idea. Part of me just wants to go home but...Well...I don't think it's gonna be that simple." Sean said.
"I'd be disappointed if you actually did leave." Motoko said making him smile.
"Yeah. I don't think I'll be leaving as long as you're here." Sean said making her smile.
Soon Sean was allowed back in with the rest of Section 9.
"On behalf of everyone here and the rest of the world...We cannot even begin to say how sorry we all are that so many of you children and all had to go through what you did. The ones responsible both here and those who did not attend...Will be properly punished and sentenced to life in prison for their involvement. And the projects will never be renewed or restarted."
"Thanks." Sean said.
"However." This made everyone tense up. "We also believe perhaps you could lead the others to do great things...To fix all the problems these people...And us have created for this world."
"What are you suggesting?" Sean asked.
"We...Would like you to lead those who willingly enlist into a group you'll have full control over. Those who a re human, Cyborg and those like you. To fix all the problems that come up."
"The First Order if you will."
"Hmm. I assume I wouldn't be under jurisdiction?" Sean asked.
"None whatsoever. The choice is yours. We'll give you a few days to think on it."
Later
Sean sat in a chair with a drink in hand.
"Thinking about the proposition they gave you?" Motoko asked.
"Yeah...I just wanted a quiet life...But with perks like that...How can I say no." Sean said.
"Well...If you're staying in Japan it'll make things very interesting." Motoko said making him chuckle as he took his shades off.
"Yeah. I think I'll take the proposition. Make the main base here." Sean said as she held his hand.
"Good. I'd hate for it to be anywhere else." Motoko said making him smile.
Tom was outside the room seeing this and smiled knowing his son was in good hands with someone who would make him happy for the rest of his life.
