Chapter 4 Rookies
Its been a couple weeks since the alliance between the Republic and Sean's forces became official to end the war sooner and find the remaining four stones before Dooku and his forces could.
Of course though as expected there were some issues in the senate. Mainly people demanded Sean hand over the stones to them or face total destruction.
However he proved how corrupt they were by exposing past deals with criminals and assassins to further expand their power.
This only proved further how far ahead he planned in the eyes of the Republic. Earning him the rank as Supreme Commander of the Republic's entire military in both clones and Jedi.
Right now he was meeting with Palpatine about finalizing the alliance.
"You want to send two people to my command and send a senator to my world as an ambassador?" Sean asked Palpatine.
"Of course. This will go a long way to easing tensions between the Republic and your forces." Palpatine said.
"I do not deny there could be some benefits to this. However If there will be two specific people under my command I request to pick them myself. People who take the job seriously and are not in it for the Glory." Sean said.
"But of course. As for the Senator. I have already hand picked Senator Amidala to represent the Republic. I believe some time away from here could do her some good." Palpatine said.
"I have no issues with that at all." Sean said before he was handed a Datapad on those to choose.
"I think you'll find some worthy candidates in here for the position." Palpatine said before Sean found two.
"Hmm. Tarkin and Thrawn. Tarkin takes his position seriously and understands certain tactics are required and he's willing to make the hard choices that not many will make on principle. Though I understand and admire those beliefs in times of war the hard choices are indeed required. He'll do. As for Thrawn. His tactics are nearly flawless. He studies his enemies thoroughly. Also respects them in his own way. These two will do." Sean said.
"Excellent choices." Palatine said as Sean left not seeing him grin.
Padme was getting the last of her things in her office.
"I take your not exactly happy about this?" Sean asked entering.
"Not for the reasons your probably thinking. I approve of the alliance and I know your goals are good for the people. But forcing me away is not something I would rather do." Padme said.
"Because you feel more useful here?" Sean asked making her face him with a grin.
"That obvious huh?" Padme asked making him chuckle.
"I don't need to tell the future to see you would be more useful on Earth than in a room full of idiots." Sean said.
"You really have no faith in the senate do you?" Padme asked.
"And you do? Need I remind you that while your people were under Gunray's rule the Senate did nothing to help and you solved the problem yourself with the will of the people, Two Jedi and a massive Gungan army. See my point?" Sean asked making her smile.
"Ok fair point." Padme said.
"Can I ask you something?" Sean asked helping her reach something up high.
"Course." Padme said.
"What was your relationship with Skywalker really?" Sean asked making her freeze. "I know it was more than just mere friendship. What was it really?" Sean asked making her sigh.
"He was my husband." Padme said surprising him. "Immediately after the war started Anakin and I got married on Naboo. I loved him. But...Knowing what could have happened if you didn't..." Padme tried to say before he held her close as she held him.
"I am truly sorry. But I had no choice." Sean said making her sigh.
"I know. And I'll remember him for the good things." Padme said.
"Thats all you can do." Sean said before his communicator went off before Mace appeared. "What is it?" Sean asked.
"We request you come to the temple." Mace said.
"Very well." Sean said ending his transmission. "I'll have my people move the rest of your things to Earth." Sean said making her smile.
"Thank you." Padme said as he left before she placed a hand on her heart before smiling. "Ani. I really will miss you but...Theres something about him." Padme said before resuming getting her things.
Arriving at the temple he found Mace and a few members of the Council.
"What is it?" Sean asked curious.
"We would like to place one Jedi under your direct command to further improve the relationship between your forces and ours." Mundi said.
"Funny, Palpatine thought the same thing. He asked me to pick two people to place under my direct command. I picked Tarkin and Thrawn." Sean said.
"Tarkin? I'm surprised you picked him. He has some issues with the Jedi since he finds our tactics ineffective." Piel said.
"And his tactics are what I also need. I told you my forces are balanced out. Between those who go to certain lengths and those who will do whatever it takes to achieve a required victory. Provided they do not involve the death of civilians." Sean said.
"Indeed. We would like to place Aayla Secura under your command to further improve the relations." Mace said.
"I understand. Where is she?" Sean asked.
"She's waiting for you at the landing platform at your ship." Kenobi said as he left.
"We still need to ensure our alliance does not hit any complications. Not everyone in the order believes in Kruger's gift to predict peoples futures. Some have suggested removing him since he is the Blood of Thanos." Plo said.
"That we cannot allow. Keep a close eye on our fellow Jedi." Mace said.
Sean walked to his ship before spotting a blue skinned Twe'lik with brown eyes waiting for him.
"You must be Aayla." Sean said kindly making her smile.
"That I am. Its a pleasure to working along side you Kruger." Aayla said.
"The pleasure is all mine. If I had known they would have sent someone so beautiful to be at my side I would have been here sooner." Sean said making her blush before giggling.
"Do you always flirt with women you first meet?" Aayla asked.
"Only ones such as yourself." Sean joked making her giggle. "But being completely serious I look forward to fighting beside you." Sean said making her smile.
"As do I." Aayla said before they got on his ship and left to head back to his flagship.
Days later
On SanctuaryII Sean sat on his throne chair with his greatest generals and his allies going over battle strategies.
"Our forces in the Salacumi system have pushed back the Separatist forces. Meaning we can focus on keeping the Alderaan system from falling into Enemy hands." Tarkin said.
"Indeed. Have one of our enhanced keep on eye on things until he or she is needed." Sean said.
"I recommend Cloak and Dagger keep an eye on the system for the time being. They are a powerful combination." Thrawn said.
"For good reason. And what of the inspections?" Sean asked.
"Captain Rex, Commander Cody and Agent Ward should be reporting in any second now." Kenobi said before said three appeared in hologram form.
"Commander? How goes the inspection?" Sean asked.
"Everything is up to perfect standards, sir. Only the Rishi station is left. Then we'll report in." Cody said.
"Very good." Sean said as the transmission ended before Tarkin noticed the look on his face as his helmet was off.
"Something on your mind?" Tarkin asked.
"Hmm. It's been a while since we encountered Grievous. We know he got off the Malevolence before it exploded." Sean said. (Sora I never said he was killed. He got off before the explosion. PAY ATTENTION!)
"He's most likely licking his wounds." Aayla said making Sean chuckle lightly.
"Perhaps. And the damage he sustained from the Power stone no doubt greatly wounded him." Sean said.
"We shall eventually encounter him again. It's only a matter of time." Thrawn said.
"Lets hope not too soon." Kenobi said.
Meanwhile
The outpost in the Rishi system was quiet for now.
A deck officer went out to look for anything unusual but saw nothing but local creatures.
"Once again all clear as usual." The Deck officer said.
Inside a small group of clones were listening to some music while messing around.
"Shouldn't you be watching your scope Hevy?" Echo asked.
"Oh sure let me check." Hevy said looking and saw nothing. "Oh what do you know? All clear...Just like the ten thousand times I've looked at it." Hevy said annoyed.
"Personally I like the peace and quiet. Catch up on reg manuals." Echo said.
"The hell is wrong with Echo?" Hevy asked. "We should be on the front lines blasting droids." Heavy said.
"Ah leave him alone. They left him in his jar for too long." Cutup said making him laugh.
"You may not realize it yet, fives, but you landed on one of the boring outposts in the outer rim." Hevy said before the Sargent appeared.
"And one of the most important." The Sargent said.
"Attention Sargent on Deck!" Hevy said getting the others attention.
"At ease. I would like to remind you all that one of the commander's Agents of SHIELD along with other high ranking officers are on their way here for inspection. The commander expects nothing but a perfect report from us. I dont need to remind you if the enemy captures this station they can launch a surprise attack on our home world." The Sargent said.
"Sir, yes, sir." The clones said.
Meanwhile
Sean on his throne looked at various reports of battles across the galaxy before Tarkin approached him.
"Something you need to Report?" Sean asked.
"Yes. The Battle on Felucia is in a deadlock. Neither side is gaining an advantage." Tarkin said.
"I'm not surprised. The Droid army there is currently very large. They know the Republic need that sector for food and water. Without it there will some issues for the people. But theres nothing much we can currently do with our forces spread out as they are." Sean said.
"We could always just replace the Jedi General there and get more needed results." Tarkin said.
"You have no faith in the Jedi do you?" Sean asked.
"I find a majority of their tactics ineffective. The Jedi code prevents them to go far enough to achieve victory. The Very reason Peace Keepers should not be leading a war. I support your forces a hundred percent because they get results and aren't afraid of going far enough." Tarkin said.
"Understandable but ask yourself this. Would you rather have an asset that grants you victories rather than not having one that gets you none?" Sean asked making him raise an eyebrow.
"Where are you going with this?" Tarkin asked curious.
"Though I understand your reasons for not supporting them you cannot deny they have more victories than defeats." Sean said.
"No. I never said they were useless. I just think they could do more." Tarkin said.
"And they will in time. They see things my way now. Light and darkness must be equally balanced that includes in both the force and tactics. Now say in this war we had no choice to destroy the homes of those we are trying to liberate. I can live with that if it an absolutely needed victory we cannot afford to lose. After that we would help rebuild those homes and make them better." Sean said.
"You seem to have thought this very thoroughly." Tarkin said impressed.
"You don't get to be in a position like mine without thinking things through in every way possible. My position has to be earned not given. Thats what my mother taught me and my brothers." Sean said.
"You never mentioned you had siblings." Tarkin said.
"An older brother and an adoptive younger brother. David and Turok. David is a tactician and goes over every possible outcome before acting. Turok acts on instincts. And I think things through in more than one view. I look at everything in all views both light and Dark." Sean said.
Meanwhile
The Rishi outpost was all quiet and peaceful.
Thats is until a meteor shower came.
"Raise the shields." The Sargent said getting one of the clones do that.
"You wanted excitement Heavy." Cutup said.
"Right...Oooh Meteor shower." Hevy said sarcastically
The Meteor shower hit the shields and some of the land before it was over.
The deck officer looked out to see what remained but when he did he saw small landing craft where the meteors hit.
"What the?" The Deck officer said before a Droid appeared in front of him before more from behind appeared and slashed his throat killing him.
The landing craft suddenly opened up revealing Commando Droids.
"Report in trooper." The Sargent said on the comms but got nothing.
"I don't see him down there Sarge." 5's said.
"Go find him." The Sargent said to two clones making them rush down.
Getting down the stairs they got to the entrance they saw the Droids.
"Droids!" One of the clones yelled before getting blasted. The Sarge and other clones rushed down but quickly got pined down.
"Sound the alarm!" The Sarge said getting Hevy to try to do that but couldn't.
"I can't! They've disabled the signal." Hevy said.
"Get a massage to the fleet we have to warn...AHHH!" Sarge yelled as he got blasted.
"Sarge!" Echo said before Cutup shut the door.
"We gotta get out of here! Theres too many." 5's said making them get into the air vent and escaped. The Droids soon barged into the room seeing no one.
"No sign of the clones." One of the Droids said.
"They do not matter. Wire the all clear signal and contact General Grievous." The leading droid said.
Meanwhile
General Grievous with a large fleet of Separatists ship were seen approaching the moon.
"The outpost is secure general. We shut down the alarm and rigged the all clear signal." The commando droid said.
"Good. Keep that signal alive. I don't want the Republic to find out we're coming." Grievous said.
"Sir our spy on Kamino is making contact." A droid said revealing Ventress.
"General, All preparations are ready for your invasion." Ventress said.
"Good. The destruction of Kamino will deliver a devastating blow to the Republic even with Kruger's army." Grievous said laughing.
Back at the Outpost
The four remaining clones finally got out of the vents and came outside.
"What now?" Hevy asked.
"We need to find a way to contact one of the fleets." Echo said before they saw a Quinjet approaching.
"That must be the inspection team. Get on the comms we have to warn them." Hevy said.
Getting off the ship War and the others looked around.
"Ok I don't like this. There always should be a deck officer out here." Ward said not knowing there were droids hiding from them.
"I dont like the looks of this." Rex said as a Droid disguised as a Clone walked out before trying to tell the the station was in perfect condition to get them to leave.
Echo was trying to contact them but couldn't.
"Damn! It's no good they must be on a different frequency." Echo said.
"I'll signal them with this flare." Hevy said.
"Stop wasting our time and take us to the Sargent in Command." Ward said.
"Roger, Roger." The droid said making him raise an eyebrow before a flare was shot up.
"A droid attack flare?" Cody asked before Ward shot the droid in the head.
"Whoa! Ward! What the hell was that for?" Rex asked as he kneeled down.
"Relax." Ward said taking the helmet off showing the Commando droid. "I knew it. Must be one of those new damn commando droids." Ward said.
"That flare must have come from the survivors." Cody said before the Commando droids fired on them.
"Ambush!" Rex yelled firing on one but when it got hit a couple times it still stood.
"Those clankers have tough armor!" Cody yelled before Ward shot it in the head.
"Any ideas?" Rex asked before Ward noticed some with Grenades.
"OFF THE PLATFORM!" Ward yelled as they went off.
When the smoke cleared the droids looked for them.
"No sign of them. They must have been pulverized. Resume defensive posts."
Unknown however though the three used grappling hooks to escape before going down.
"Well, that complicates things." Ward said.
"No worse than that time on Tibrin." Cody said.
"We had Jedi on Tibrin. They helped." Rex said.
"Hold up." Ward said before the four clones appeared from the smoke. "Don't move! Take your helmets off!" Ward yelled making them hold their hands up.
"Um sir?" Echo asked.
"Take them off! Now!" Rex yelled making them do just that before the three stood down.
Only for a giant eel to come out and roared before Ward shot it in a week point before it fell over dead.
"Nice shot." Hevy said.
"The name's Ward." Ward said placing his hand in the blood. "But your refer to me as Sir." Ward said.
"Sir, Yes, Sir!" The four said.
"I'm Commander Cody. This is Captain Rex." Cody said taking off his helmet as did Rex
"Name's Hevy. These three are Fives, Echo and Cutup." Hevy said.
"Wheres the rest of your group?" Ward asked.
"Dead, sir. We're all thats left." Echo said.
"So we got ourselves some shinies as you guys call them." Ward said approaching them.
"Shinies, sir?" Echo asked.
"Thats right. Your armor is shiny and new. Just like you guys." Ward said placing his hand on his armor leaving a blue handprint.
"Sir, My batch are ready to retake our post, Shiny or not." Hevy said making him smirk.
"I like you guys." Ward said.
Meanwhile
"Cody and the others should have reported in by now." Kenobi said.
"Perhaps something has come up." Tarkin said.
"Hmm. Ward would have reported in. I don't like this. The outpost can detect a fleet coming close. If Grievous captures it." Sean trailed off.
"It would mean they would invade." Thrawn said.
"Yes." Sean said.
"Perhaps we're jumping to conclusions too soon." Aayla said.
"Maybe. Give them 20 more minutes before we send in a second squad to see whats going on." Sean said.
"Of course." Tarkin said.
Meanwhile
A group of Commando droids were inside by the door before the monitor showed them something.
"What is that?"
What they saw was Rex approaching the door like a droid would.
"Unit 2-6, is that you?"
"Roger, Roger." Rex said.
"You sound strange. Is something wrong with your vocabulator?"
"Roger, Roger." Rex said messing with his throat .
"Take off your helmet. Let me see your face plate."
"Roger, Roger." Rex said ducking before pulling out a droid head confusing most who were by the door.
"This is never gonna work." Cody said.
"Three...Two...One." Ward counted before the doors opened up before Ward stood in front of them.
"SHIELD!"
"Stupid machines." Ward said shooting him before the rest shot the others.
Rushing up to the command room they took out the Commando droids easily.
"That was easy." Hevy said grinning.
"Enough games." Ward said pulling up the monitor showing a massive fleet above them. "Thats what this is about. They want to invade the one planet of interest in this sector." Ward said.
"Kamino. If they launch that invasion they'll be caught completely by surprise. It will deliver a serious blow to the Republic completely." Cody said.
"We have to alert the fleet." Rex said.
"We already tried when this started. They knocked out our comms." Fives said.
"Then we need to destroy this facility. Once that happens the Fleet will arrive." Ward said.
"How do we do that. There aren't enough explosives here to do that." Hevy said.
"This will do." Ward said throwing some device on the ground before red lines started appearing. "It's something the Research department made 20 years ago. It'll infect the place before it explodes." Ward said as they rushed out.
Meanwhile
"What is the Status of the Base?" Grievous asked.
"We've lost contact..."
That was as far as the Droid got before the base exploded.
Meanwhile
"The all clear signal stopped. The Station is no longer transmitting." Tarkin said alarmed.
"Grievous." Kenobi said.
"Get SanctuaryII to that station." Sean said calmly.
Grievous growled seeing the base in ruins.
"I didn't order them to blow up the station." Grievous said.
"But isn't it good that the base is destroyed?" A droid asked.
"IDIOT!" Grievous roared before SanctuaryII arrived. "Kruger's flagship! We're outmatched! Get us out of here!" Grievous yelled as the flagship started firing on them taking out a few cruisers easily.
Later
"Hmm. This was too close for comfort. With the station in ruins Kamino will be vulnerable." Sean said.
"Indeed. I recommend temporarily adding extra cruisers to the fleet protecting the planet until a new and improves station is ready. And more so I recommend that Doctor Strange be placed in Charge of that fleet until the station is complete." Tarkin said.
"I agree." Thrawn said.
"As do I. Send word to him at once. His fleet will increase the defense line." Sean said.
"We need to monitor the Separatist fleet better to prevent attacks like this from ever occurring." Mace said.
"As it happens I am placing a monitoring station on the Kree home world. This will help us keep a close eye on the enemy." Sean said.
"Very good." Mace said as they left minus Sean and Aayla.
"I was fortunate the inspection team prevented this attack." Aayla said.
"Indeed. Tell Maw to plot a course for Earth I need to make some further arrangements." Sean said making her smile.
"Of course." Aayla said leaving before Sean's eyes drifted to her hips and smiled lightly.
"Hmph. Well, Mom you always said I would find that special someone." Sean said not knowing Aayle knew where he was looking with a smirk on her face having developed feelings for him as well.
Authors Note: And with that the Rookies chapter is finished. Now Next Chapter The Viceroy is captured and something even more interesting happens. Also heres another Update on the Harem.
