Chapter 60 Tremors back to Perfection
Its been a couple months since the Meg Incident with the Trench now being Illegal to Cross incase there were any others down there.
So the UN classified the Area as a no entry area.
Since then everything has been mostly peaceful.
Right now though.
Burt and Eda were out in Argentina with some new weapon Sean's DOD section created.
"We sure this thing is even gonna work?" Eda asked.
"It should. Sean said everything checked out. This is just the full test of it." Burt said.
Reason they were out here was because a few weeks ago a Single Graboid was reported in the Area and the Local law enforcement did nothing to try and kill the beast.
Now there were shriekers out here.
So now they were sent out to clean it up.
Thats when they heard an all too familiar screech.
"Here we go again." Eda said as Burt pulled the Tarp off showing an anti air cannon that was was a mix of modern and Predator technology.
"Let's see if this works." Burt said getting in powering it up as they ran at them.
Thats when he started blasting them all to bits making him laugh seeing they were getting slaughtered big time as they turned to dust to make sure Grendel couldn't get anymore remains for his experiments.
Soon enough all of them were dead making him chuckle.
"Call this a successful test run." Burt said making her grin.
Later
Sean was heading to Perfection to relax for a bit since things had been peaceful for a bit.
After the Remains of the Shriekers had been destroyed to make sure Grendel couldn't get his hands on anymore for his own gains.
Arriving outside Chang's market he smirked seeing it had changed with Walter's Niece Jodi changing it with Graboid and Shrieker themes making him chuckle in amusement.
"Oh Jodi." Sean said before seeing some building called Perfection Valley Ranchettes.
"Oh hell." Sean said before Miguel parked next to him.
"Hey, Sean. Welcome back. Saw Burt and Eda on the news shooting that new Cannon thing." Miguel said.
"Plasma cannon. What the hell is that?" Sean asked seeing the building.
"Ah, just some real estate guys out of Reno. They want to cut up the Valley into Parcels." Miguel said.
"That'll be a cold day in hell." Sean said.
"Burt and I said the same thing." Miguel said before some woman came out.
"Hey Uncle."
"Oh, this is my niece. Rosalita." Miguel said.
"Nice to meet you." Sean said making her smile.
"Yeah, Likewise." Rose said as she got in with her uncle.
"See you around." Miguel said.
Heading inside he found Burt, Heather, Eda and Jodi.
"Sean, Welcome back." Jodi said.
"Damn. You are doing better than Walter ever did. And we sold him that snake tongue from the first worm for 15 bucks so he could give pictures for it for 300 bucks." Sean said making her smirk.
"So what brings you by?" Heather asked.
"Oh just relaxing for a bit while Korra visits her mother. Senna is trying to spoil her soon to be born Grandchild." Sean said making Eda snicker.
"So when are you two gonna try?" Heather teased making Eda blush.
"MOM!" Eda yelled making her and Burt laugh.
"What? He's just now turning 20 years old and has a kid on the way. You telling me you don't want Kids?" Heather asked.
"I don't want kids now when things are getting intense when I'm of more use in the field." Eda answered.
"She's got a point." Burt said.
"Although I'm worried if we do have kids will they end like Burt being Anti-Government paranoid desert people." Sean said making Eda laugh at her father who scoffed.
"So you guys pick up any Graboid or Shrieker parts?" Jodi asked.
"Need I remind you that we're trying to stop Grendel from getting anymore of these things for him to cook up in his labs? Those new Shriekers he made are proof enough of what he can make." Sean said. (If Only they knew)
"True." Jodi said.
"Besides what are you trying to do? Turn the whole valley into a theme park?" Eda asked.
"Doesn't he own hundreds?" Jodi asked.
"50." Sean said.
"But if your talking about a theme Park kind gal." Jodi said handing him a pamphlet showing a woman with long blue hair and eyes with white skin and very large breasts and a heart shaped ass.
"Cowgirl Maron tours? Who the hell is this?" Sean asked. (From dragon ball series. Kinda disappointed there wasn't more of her after she got dumped)
"She moved in a couple months ago and started taking people out on Graboid Safari's." Heather said making Burt scoff.
"I don't believe this." Burt said.
"There are no more Graboids out here though. We checked." Sean said.
"Yeah...That doesn't mean she can't simulate the experience of it though." Heather said.
"You know in my experience if you lie about something it comes back to bite you in the ass. Hence why I'm always truthful." Sean said.
"Like telling us you and Korra were Beowulf and Sage?" Heather asked amused.
"You never asked." Sean said plainly.
"He's not wrong." Eda said smirking.
Later
Sean was filling up his bike with Gas when he spotted Mindy walking to him.
"Hey Sean." Mindy said.
"Hey Mindy. I thought you were off at school." Sean said.
"Mom didn't tell you? I had to drop out. We couldn't afford the Tuition and she doesn't want a hand out because it makes her think she's being a burden." Mindy said making him sigh.
"It's not being a burden if it's for a friend." Sean said.
"Thats what I said." Mindy said. "So how are things going for you?" Mindy said.
"Pretty good. Korra and I are expecting." Sean said making her laugh.
"Let me guess? Unplanned and because Korra can't keep it in her pants." Mindy said making him snicker.
"Yes." Sean said making her laugh harder.
"Oh I so knew it was gonna happen one of these days." Mindy said walking off as he chuckled.
Thats when the Tour arrived before Maron spotted him with a grin.
"Well, Hello Mr. Kruger." Maron said sexually making him snort.
"Hello, Maron." Sean said making her blink. "I saw the pamphlet when I got here." Sean said.
"Oh. So what brings you down here? Need some...Alone time?" Maron teased.
"Cute. I'm just visiting for a little while. Though I don't mind company." Sean said making her grin before spotting her partner checking Mindy out making her scowl.
"BUFORD!" Maron yelled shocking him. "Do not do that! Go set up the next group." Maron said making him nod.
"Let me guess. Don't like perverts?" Sean asked.
"More along the lines of I don't like guys looking at younger girls since I know where that leads." Maron said.
"True enough. Be seeing ya." Sean said getting on his bike and drove off.
"Oh I will." Maron said.
Later
During the next Tour Maron and Mindy had encountered another Graboid in Perfection after it ate Buford which gave Burt reason to activate the Alarm for such an occasion.
Right now Sean and the others were at Chang's Market to discuss it.
"Good news is theres only three of them." Burt said.
"How can you tell?" Jodi asked.
"Before Amanda took office she and ARGUS gave me special equipment to monitor the Valley using Seismic equipment." Burt said.
"Anyway they're heading down here just like last time." Sean said.
"Why?" Eda asked.
"Probably some nesting ground or something here. Or perhaps they just like the area." Burt said.
"So what do we do?" Maron asked.
"Your little fake tour business is over hon. Time to Fish or cut bait." Heather said.
"Hold on. We're not cut off this time. We don't have to act like a bunch of Militia nut jobs. We can call for help." Nancy said.
"If your thinking of calling the Government for help, don't. The Department of the Interior will just fuck everything up and more than likely let them remain and force everyone out." Sean said.
"You don't know that." Nancy said.
"Nancy, I have been in the government for almost 15 years. I know the government inside and out. And these fuckers have caused countless problems. Either A they don't take anything serious till it's Too later. B they fuck everything up and pin it on someone else who had nothing to do with it or C just flat out do nothing cause they don't think it's worth their so called PRECIOUS time." Sean said.
"Yeah I work for the CIA I know he's right." Eda said.
Next day
Sean was driving a toy truck to test it.
"This will do perfectly. How many you got in stock?" Sean asked.
"About 11." Jodi said before Sean handed her a thousand dollars making her chuckle taking it.
"Hows this work? A toy truck?" Maron asked.
"They hunt by sound so we lure them here with these and use the explosives Burt made to kill them. Quick and easy." Sean said.
"Oh." Maron said.
"Lets get moving." Sean said as they got on their vehicles about to head off when some people in their own vehicles showed up.
"Why am I not gonna like this?" Eda asked as they got out approaching three men.
"Morning, Commander Kruger."
"Morning." Sean said before he took out a badge.
"Agent Frank Statler." Statler said.
"My cousin he already went back to Mexico." Miguel said quickly.
"I already filed a business license ." Maron said.
"The right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed." Burt said.
"Easy. Department of the Interior. This Gentleman is field agent Rusk of the BLM, And Dr. Andrew Merliss, director of Paleontology at the Smithsonian." Statler said.
"You'll have to excuse us. We got better things to do." Sean said.
"Not if it's hunting Graboids you don't." Statler said making him pause before growling as he looked at Nancy.
"I called them, Sean." Nancy said.
"You...Are the biggest moron I have ever met." Sean said shocking her.
"I've been granted authority by laws sanctioned by the UN that bans all hunting of Graboids period." Statler said.
"So we let them live...And we become the Endangered species." Burt said.
"You...You have been instrumental in the eradication of the Oldest and rarest species. Not just once but on seven separate occasions. On 3 continents." Merliss said.
"So...They can kill anyone that they come across and we can't defend ourselves? Yeah...That sounds like you morons." Sean said.
"Are you even aware of the Public outcry?" Merliss asked.
"Don't hand me that BS. Only a small handful of people feel that way who are idiots like you guys. Besides theres another reason we've having them put down. Because Grendel is making living war machines out of them. And besides. Even my Great Grandmother admitted they were a mistake." Sean said.
"That may be so but this is still an ancient species and more importantly you will not kill another regardless of who your mother is since these are the laws set forth by the UN. At least until we can capture one." Statler said.
"We've tried that before. By the time you realize thats impossible we'll be up to our necks in shriekers." Burt said.
"If we do discover there is a serious threat to public Safety, we're prepared to evacuate Perfection Valley Indefinitely." Statler said.
"Wait a minute. You'd make us leave? Thats not why I called you here. I called you here to help us." Nancy said in disbelief.
"I warned you." Sean said annoyed as they left.
"And people call me paranoid." Burt said.
"Nice going Nancy." Eda said annoyed.
"I thought they would help us. Whats the point in having a government if you can't trust them?" Nancy asked.
"And whats the point in having someone who works with the government knowing how it works if your just gonna ignore them thinking your always right miss who won't even ask for help to put her daughter through collage." Sean said.
"Thats not fair." Nancy said upset by that remark.
"I'm not trying to be this time." Sean said.
"Ok enough." Heather said taking Nancy away.
"That was kinda harsh." Maron said.
"I don't care." Sean said walking away.
Later
"Mom these fuckers are gonna screw everybody over. By the time they realize what they're asking is impossible it'll be too late and Grendel will get Shriekers." Sean said on the pay phone.
"Sorry honey theres nothing I can do even in my position. Theres no loopholes in this." Amanda said.
"Oh come on. Theres gotta be something." Sean said.
"Well, If you helped them capture a Shrieker since we still have no idea how the Cycle works...It would make them back off." Amanda said.
"Well, Burt managed to capture one. I suppose it's a start." Sean said.
"Besides we do need to know more about them incase theres ever a time one's never reported and strange events begin to unfold." Amanda said.
"All right. I'll see what I can do." Sean said hanging up.
Next day
Sean and Eda were outside with him making a graboid bait chain like Cisco made not long ago.
"You sure this is a good idea?" Eda asked.
"Nope. But what Choice do we have?" Sean asked as someone parked behind them. "Mother fuckers! I told them to butt out." Sean said.
"I don't think thats them." Eda said seeing someone else.
"Sean, Eda. Long time no see. Looking hardcore as ever."
"Melvin?" Sean asked surprised.
"It's Mel Actually." Mel said handing him a card. "Now I expected Burt of all people to ignore but you're not like that." Mel said.
"Wait a minute. You're that real estate guy trying to demolish the Valley?" Sean asked.
"And you said I'd never amount to anything." Mel said.
"Well, back then could you blame me?" Sean asked.
"Eh, Fair enough. Now come on. Don't tell me you don't want to see something better than this?" Mel said.
"I like it just the way it is for your information. Besides we're in the middle of a problem here or haven't you heard?" Sean asked.
"Heard what?" Mel asked before the monitor beeped showing a Graboid was coming at them.
"Oh Shit it's a graboid." Eda said.
"A graboid? Really?" Mel asked not believing them.
"Shut up." Sean said.
"I'm not falling for it guys." Mel said.
"When have I ever lied?" Sean asked as it came up shocking them as Mel went into his car while Eda screamed as she got in a barrel as it ate her.
"EDA!" Sean yelled as it went under before running off.
"Oh my god." Sean said in disbelief.
"You better not be planning my funeral just yet." Eda said on the Radio shocking him.
"Eda?" Sean asked.
"Get me out of here!" Eda yelled.
"Uh...Hang on I got an idea." Sean driving the truck to Burt's place. "Oh good god. When I get my hands on Melvin I'm gonna make him suffer." Sean said as the worm chased him down before he was at Burt's place which had a solid rock wall around it. "Sorry Burt!" Sean yelled crashing through the gate before the Graboid crashed right into the wall killing itself.
"Oh fuck!" Sean said seeing blood come out.
Rushing to the tool shed he got a shovel and Chainsaw before digging real quick to find it before he did.
"Here we go." Sean said as he started cutting it open as Burt and Heather came in.
"Sean? What the hell are you doing!" Heather yelled as he pulled it open pulling Eda out shocking them as they pulled her out.
"I...Don't...Wanna hear it." Eda said disgusted.
"What the hell happened?" Burt asked.
"Melvin is what happened." Sean said.
"Melvin. That little turd?" Burt asked.
"Yeah. He's the fucker who's trying to tear down the valley to build over it." Sean said.
"Why am I not surprised." Burt said.
Later
Sean and Eda were in his truck tracking the last two Graboids.
After the incident all bets were off and now Sean and Eda along with Burt, Miguel, Rose and Maron were tracking them.
"Where are those fuckers." Sean said having not heard from the Agents in hours.
"Hold up. Ain't that one of them?" Eda asked seeing one on the Monitor.
"Yeah but we should be seeing two of them." Sean said as Burt and the others parked next to them. "Have you guys heard from those idiots? I can't raise them." Sean said.
"No. They did say they were chasing a Graboid but I don't like it." Burt said.
"So they scared it...Uh guys." Rose said.
Out in the distance was Merliss who looked torn up before he fell over dead.
"Oh fuck." Sean said.
Soon the group was tracking the Shriekers to a box canyon.
"Let's get this over with." Sean said before their truck was pulled under.
"GRABOID!" Burt yelled as they got up on some rocks before an Albino Graboid came up and roared before going down.
"I thought they all turned." Rose said.
"This one can't. It's Albino. While most believe them to all be sterile it's not exactly true. But it has been proven before." Sean said.
"So this one can't make any Shriekers like the other one did. Thats good. Less of a problem for us." Eda said.
"Except we can't move now because A my powers are shut down again and B...Our fucking walkies are in the trucks." Sean said.
"Damn." Burt said.
Next day
Sean glared as he heard some noises from the canyon.
"What the hell is that?" Rose asked.
"That must be them...But I haven't heard them make a noise like that." Eda said.
"Well...We usually kill them in 12 hours or less." Sean said.
"I gotta get to my Radio." Burt said.
"Hmm." Sean said picking up a rock seeing a clutch of them close by before throwing it at the pile making it crumble apart falling down luring it away.
This Gave Sean a chance to run to the Radio and back without getting caught.
"You couldn't have done that earlier?" Eda asked.
"I didn't see that pile. Mindy, Nancy?" Sean asked.
"Hey Sean whats up?" Mindy asked.
"We're pinned down by this Albino Graboid and we need an assist." Sean said.
"You want noise? I copy that." Mindy said as she started playing loud music.
"That'll do." Eda said as Sean threw it far making the Graboid follow.
Getting to their trucks Sean got his gear and everything while Burt got his guns before placing a spare ammo box on the wheel making it drive off luring it away.
"That'll keep him busy." Burt said as they rushed into the Canyon.
Right outside where they were they heard some strange sounds.
"Now what are they doing?" Eda asked.
"I don't know." Sean said pulling out an Explosive before throwing it at them as it blew up.
"You seriously don't mess around do you?" Rose asked.
"Nope." Sean said as they rushed in.
"Where are the remains?" Burt asked not seeing anything.
"How do you know it didn't just destroy everything?" Maron asked.
"We've blown them up before." Burt said.
"Uh hey." Miguel said pointing.
Up on the cliffs were some kind of husks.
"What the hell?" Eda asked.
"Looks like some kind of Husks. Or skin. Like a snake." Miguel said.
"I do not like that." Sean said narrowing his eyes.
"Maybe they went back underground." Miguel said.
"I don't think so. Before this we discovered they came from eggs. So thats not what happened." Maron said.
"Let's go." Sean said.
Arriving at where Burt's truck was they found it destroyed.
"Oh Burt...I really liked that truck." Miguel said.
"Oh man." Eda said.
"Wait...Something is moving behind the fence." Rose said making them look.
Coming out was something similar to a Shrieker but at the same time completely different.
"What the hell is that?" Maron asked.
"We killed these things in less than 12 hours. This must be the next Cycle of them." Sean said.
"So what does this thing do?" Eda asked as it roared at them seeing their heat signature.
"I'm not waiting to find out." Sean said aiming his Plasma Caster at it.
Only for it to shake it's back end.
"The hell is it doing now?" Rose asked before a small explosion occurred from behind making it fly up.
"What the?" Sean said as it flew at them.
Only for Sean to throw his Smart disk cutting it's head off as it flew down to the Metal fence.
"Nice." Eda said as he jumped down to inspect it flipping it over before widening his eyes.
"Hey guys! You should come look at this." Sean said getting them to come down.
"What is it?" Burt asked before he pulled something out.
It was an egg.
"Ok...Now I see how this works. First comes the Egg then the Graboids then Shriekers and now these new things have the Egg. I think they must fly to find a logical spot to lay them." Sean said.
"It makes sense. Best way to find a spot is from the air. But how does it fly." Eda said.
"Two separate chemicals in the hind quarters. Mixes them up and then explodes from behind and glides off." Sean said.
"Yeah and Charolette didn't tell us squat." Eda said.
"Remember these things are from way before the Dinosaurs and she hated them. No one could remember that far back." Sean said.
Later
Arriving at Burt's place they were getting geared up for the next assault.
"Ok so what do we call these things?" Rose asked.
"Assblasters is the best one I can come up with." Sean said. (I can't think of a better name)
"Sounds like a porno film." Maron said making him chuckle before they heard what sounded like flying outside.
"Oh shit." Eda said as one crashed through the roof as they went into the Safe Room.
"What is all this stuff? Food?" Rose asked seeing packets around.
"Worse. MREs." Sean said.
"Whats wrong with an MRE?" Burt asked.
"Do we really need to say it?" Eda asked before it started to heat up the door.
"Emergency escape." Burt said opening a door.
"Wait. What happens if this things eats all this?" Maron asked making Burt widen his eyes.
"Hold up. We know for a fact Shriekers reproduce just by eating enough food. But what happens when they eat something? We need to find out before we make blind guesses." Sean said.
"Your right." Burt said grabbing a few packs before throwing it outside.
Looking for a small crack they saw it eat the food but nothing else happened before it actually started roaring before falling over.
"What just happened?" Miguel asked.
"Clearly these things can only eat a certain amount of food before passing out. They can't do the same things Shriekers do." Burt said.
"So what do we do with this one?" Rose asked as Sean tied it up.
"We'll study it in a controlled environment." Sean said as scans showed more incoming.
"Let's get to work." Eda said.
Later
The Assblasters had been killed and the remains had all been destroyed to prevent them from being used by Grendel for anymore of his projects.
And of course Nancy, Jodi and Mindy caught one and sold it to Sean's company to help put Mindy through Collage.
Now both the ones they caught were being taken to a special facility to be studied.
Right now though.
Sean was on a rock playing with a special toy truck that had seismic watches.
Thats when Melvin parked next to him.
"Sean." Melvin said.
"I've been expecting you Mel. You're one persistent Little money grubber." Sean said.
"Come on. Sean theres nothing here. The best idea is for you to help me out." Mel said making him smirk.
"You might wanna join me up here." Sean said.
"Why? Mel asked.
"It's safer." Sean said as the Toy truck drove up with the Graboid in Tow making him widen his eyes before getting on the rock as Sean laughed as it came up showing the Albino Graboid now named El Blanco.
"Jesus Christ Sean! I thought you killed all those things." Melvin said.
"I never said that." Sean said.
"God man! Blow it up. What are you waiting for?" Mel asked.
"See heres the thing. As long as this guy is here you can't do shit. It's now protected land." Sean said amused.
"Are you crazy?" Mel asked.
"Mmm. On occasion. Point is Department of the Interior won't let you put so much as a brick down as long as he's around since he could be the last of his kind. At least on this Earth since Chairman Organa asked for the Eggs to be placed on a planet they could live on in peace in the star wars universe." Sean said.
"You can't do that though. I spent millions buying this land." Mel said.
"Thats not my problem." Sean said jumping to his open hooded truck. "Consider this payback for getting Eda Eaten!" Sean yelled laughing as he drove off.
"SEAN! HEY!" Mel yelled trying to get to his car but saw dust come out of the hole making him growl. "SEAN! YOU ASSHOLE!" Mel yelled pissed off.
"Oh I know I'm an asshole but in this case I'm ok with it." Sean said.
Later
Sean rushed through the Emergency room as Korra had gone into Labor Early.
"Six months and she goes into Labor." Sean said as he made it into the room seeing her in a hospital gown.
"I'm not due for another 3 months." Korra panted.
"We'll figure that part out later. Right now we have a delivery in the works." Sean said as Ann walked through.
"Ok. Lets get this done." Ann said as she started the Delivery.
Korra panted as she started pushing as Sean held her hand.
"AHHHHHHH!" Korra screamed as she heard soft crying making her sigh in relief.
"Here we go." Ann said.
"Oh thank god I...AHH!" Korra screamed.
"Whats wrong?" Sean asked as Ann took another look.
"Oh we're not done yet." Ann said.
"WHAT!" Korra screamed.
"Oh lord." Sean said as Korra glared at him.
"I am going to kill you for this." Korra said.
"Sure. It's my fault. Why blame the guy." Sean asked making her growl as she started pushing again as she groaned.
"AHHHHH!" Korra screamed hearing another soft cry as a nurse took the second baby away.
"One more." Ann said shocking her.
"Oh man!" Korra moaned making Sean chuckle.
"Well, you did say you wanted a big family." Sean said making her growl at him as she started pushing again.
Korra groaned in pain as she pushed agin.
"AHHHHHHHHHH!" Korra screamed as the final cry was heard making her sigh in relief.
"And we're done." Ann said making her sigh in relief.
"I am not doing this again...For years." Korra said making Sean smirk.
"It'll be worth it once you see them." Sean said as the first was brought to them in a blue blanket.
Korra smiled as she held her son seeing him with brown hair and his father's skin before he opened his eyes showing his mother's eyes making her cry softly.
"Hi honey." Korra said making him giggle as she kissed him. "Oh your name is Easy to figure out. Sean Noah Ashburn Kruger Junior." Korra said making Junior giggle.
The Second was brought to them also in a blue blanket making Korra smile softly seeing he had a mix of his parents skin and his more of her brown hair before opening his eyes showing Hazel eyes making her smile.
"Oh you're easy to name. Jack Sparrow Kruger." Korra said making Jack laugh at his mother.
"Oh you knew I was gonna ask." Sean said making her smile.
The final one was brought to them in a blue blanket making Korra smile softly as she held her youngest.
He had her skin texture and more black hair before he opened his eyes showing his Father's forest green eyes.
"And I know what to name you. Mathayus Kruger." Korra said making him giggle at her as they held all three of them.
"Well, We may not have been planning for them but I'm not complaining." Sean said making her smile kissing him as she kissed all three of them.
"Me either. Still not gonna have anymore for years though since three was more than I expected in one go." Korra said making him chuckle.
Meanwhile
Right where the first Assblaster was killed was the corpse that was about to be moved by ARGUS troops.
"Get this out of here." Diggle said as they moved it.
"Let's hope Grendel doesn't get his hands on this thing." Lyla said.
Unknown to them was that Grendel was above them with a vile of blood in hand with a smirk behind his mask.
"Fools. I have the last piece I need." Grendel said vanishing.
