Chapter 66 Alien vs Predator
It's been a month since the Crocodile incident during Korra's little vacation which resulted in a crocodile hunting them because Hubs had placed two eggs inside Clair's backpack as a practical joke. (Jokes on him since it got him killed)
Fortunately Korra had discovered the eggs and gave them back which let the mother leave them in peace since she got what she wanted.
After that Regina had given birth to a daughter named Paula.
Then Sunny and Chrissie had gotten pregnant.
Now though.
Chrissie smiled as she held her large stomach since she was using the same pills Regina used.
"Oooh." Sunny said moaning.
"Whats wrong?" Chrissie asked.
"This little guy won't stop kicking." Sunny moaned making Saya giggle.
"How do you even know it's a boy?" Korra asked with Jack in hand as he giggled.
"Easy. Screw up mom Plus badass responsible Dad equals little boy." Sunny said.
"She's actually got a point." Saya said.
"I don't care what this one is." Chrissie said holding her pregnant stomach.
"Of course you don't but I know you want it to be a girl so you can name her after your sister." Korra said making her smile.
"Yeah. I miss Sarah but I know she's up there." Chrissie said rubbing her stomach.
"Wheres Sean Anyway?" Saya asked.
"Oh he's getting ready for some big Trial Wolf and the rest of the Hunters are putting him through. And best of all...Burk is going to be used as some sacrifice." Korra said.
"Oh yeah I almost forgot about him." Saya said.
Meanwhile
Sean was in his gear after getting injected with something.
"This will suppress your powers till the trial is over." Scarface said.
"Making it fair eh? Good." Sean said making him chuckle.
"Your father even when he had his abilities never used them. It was because of him this serum was developed since he believed it would help keep people like you contained if they proved a threat." Wolf said.
"So what is this trial anyway?" Sean asked.
"An advancement trial or rite of passage one could say. This is held every hundred years. Facing off against the ultimate prey. The Serpents." Scarface said.
"You mean the Xenomorhps." Sean said.
"Exactly. Every hundred years we send young bloods to a temple down in what you call the Arctic. It was built during Man's very early years. We arrived here and taught them how to build. And were worshiped as gods for it. And Every hundred years we would return and people would willingly sacrifice themselves to breed these beasts for us to hunt." Wolf said.
"That kinda sounds twisted for them to die like that. Why not just use those who committed serious crimes?" Sean asked.
"Back then no one objected." Scarface said.
"Micheal also went through the Trial 200 years years ago with the very weapons you have shortly before his death. And now it's your time." Wolf said.
"So am I doing this with other young bloods or by myself?" Sean asked.
"With others." Wolf said as three young hunters appeared.
"Allow me to introduce your team. Scar, Celtic and Chopper." Scarface said.
"It's an honor." Celtic said.
"The Honor is mine." Sean said.
"Now the temple is already been cleared for us we just need the sacrifices in order to move forward." Wolf said.
"I got both someone and something in mind for that." Sean said showing an image of Burk.
"Ah, the one who caused the incident on the colony your newly adopted Sister lived on." Scarface said.
"We've developed a serum that can instantly regenerate people in seconds based on the DNA of the Mutant known as Logan from the Mutant Universe. It's a flawed but stable serum. It will put him agonizing pain for 72 hours till it wears off and then kills him. But not before he's used to breed these Xenomorphs in the temple for the trial." Sean said.
"Excelent. A fitting punishment to die by the hands of the beasts he tried to profit from." Scar said impressed. (I said I had something very fitting in mind for him. It's even worse than in Rider of the League)
Later
Burk screamed and banged against the glass of his cage as he was being brought into the temple.
Beowulf and the others were on the ship waiting for the signal.
As they waited Sean took a look at his Holy sword.
"This was your father's in his day was it not?" Scar asked.
"All my gear is. You know it's funny. I hear all this stuff about him but...I know nothing about him." Sean said.
"Hmm. You know I hear theres an Earth saying our loved ones are always looking after us." Scar said making him scoff in amusement.
"How true." Sean said before they got the alert as he put his mask on as did Scar.
Getting into four pods they were launched down to the surface.
Meanwhile
Burk whimpered and screamed as he thrashed around his chains.
"HELP ME!" Burk screamed.
While he struggled Sean and the others went down below the sacrificial chamber.
"Whats this?" Sean asked seeing it was a sarcophagus before seeing it resembled the Aztec calendar. "Oh this is easy." Sean said placing them in right.
"How do you know how to work this?" Chopper asked curious.
"My mother had me research everything and Batman more so on ancient cultures since they pop up in modern times a lot." Sean said as it opened up showing Plasma Casters as they took one each before it set the Trail up.
"Here we go." Sean said.
Meanwhile
A couple of troops were outside the entrance guarding it from anyone interfering.
Thats when they heard some hissing sounds making them look around.
"Now what?"
Thats when the other screamed as he was burned with Acid before the other had a blade like tail go right through his head.
Stepping over the corpses was Grendel who snorted as he looked at the entrance.
"Why attack now?" Grodd asked.
"His powers are deactivated. I can feel it. This is a perfect opportunity for us to finally test our new weapons and see if there are any bugs that remain." Grendel said.
"I can't fault that logic. Still you know this will take away the element of surprise...If this backfires." Grodd said as something stepped out of the shadows.
"It's gonna be revealed at one point anyway. This is the best option." Grendel said.
Meanwhile
Burk groaned in pain as several Face huggers had latched onto him before they kept busting out of his chest.
But he couldn't die since the serum kept healing him instantly.
Thats when the last one burst through his chest and slipped away making him groan in pain as he whimpered.
Only to hear another hissing sound making him look up before.
"AHHHHHHH!" Burk screamed in horror.
Meanwhile
Beowulf was with Celtic before they stopped.
"What is it?" Celtic asked.
"I don't know. Something feels real off." Beowulf said as he scanned the room for anything unusual.
"I don't see any of them." Celtic said.
"Lets keep going." Beowulf said as they left.
Unknown to them however though a Xeno was right above them getting ready to strike.
As it jumped at them Beowulf sliced the head right off easily killing it.
"After dealing with these things twice nothing of them is unexpected anymore." Beowulf said taking his mask off before taking a finger and dipped it in blood before marking his mask before doing the same thing on the left side of his neck.
Thats when one tried to sneak up on Celtic but he stabbed it with his spear killing it as well before doing the same thing with his mask and marked his forehead.
Only to hear hissing.
"Hmm?" Celtic asked.
"What the hell was that?" Beowulf asked before a Xenomorph dropped down dead.
But that wasn't what caught their attention seeing bite marks on it and missing chunks of flesh.
"The Serpents are the most deadly creatures in the universe...For something to do this." Celtic said before they heard more hissing making them pull out their weapons.
Coming out the Shadows was a Xenomorph.
However this one was MUCH more different than the average kind.
"What the?" Beowulf asked seeing it's skin resembled a Shrieker as it looked at them before the same kind of heat sensor opened up on it's head.
"Thats...Not supposed to be there." Celtic said concerned as it closed before opening it's mouth wide like a shrieker would before screeching loudly.
"Oh shit I know what the means." Sean said as it charged at them but Beowulf just blasted it down hard splitting it in half.
"More will be on the way." Celtic said.
"This has Grendel written all over it." Beowulf said as they were about to leave.
Only to see the body start moving again as it slowly started regenerating now making two of them.
"Oh you must be fucking joking me!" Sean yelled in disbelief as they spat acid which they avoided before one jumped on Celtic while Beowulf stabbed the other but it just kept healing instantly. "Ok...This is a problem." Beowulf said as he jumped back before blastin a net at the one on Celtic making him jump up as the net tightened around it making it shriek loudly.
Thats when Scar jumped down and blasted them.
"NO DON'T!" Beowulf yelled as they went down.
"What?" Scar asked before they multiplied.
"This is a problem." Celtic said as they readied their weapons.
"How do like my new pets?" Grendel asked above them.
"So this is what you've been up to and why you needed so many unique samples. The Mutated Shark Blood, The Shriekers, Xenos and Assblasters. And I'll bet you wanted that Mako Shark sample just for this to add extreme intelligence." Beowulf said.
"As usual you know my plans almost instantly. But that is to be expected. As I once said you and I are a lot alike. Considering we're both the Same. Only one major difference between us. You won't go far enough to achieve your victory. Your held back by your humanity. Where as to I am not. I don't have the same Morality as you do. And it weakens you so much. It's too bad...We could have ruled this universe together...But then again I still despise you for what you did to me." Grendel said.
"Which is what?" Scar asked annoyed.
"Hmph. I was destined for greatness...I was destined to have it all...But somehow he took everything I was meant to have. You stole my life. And you didn't even mean to." Grendel said.
"What the fuck does that even mean?" Sean asked annoyed.
"When you figure it out come find me. In the meantime...Enjoy my little gift...And I'll be enjoying the little worm you left for me." Grendel said vanishing.
Beowulf growled before his Wings appeared as his body glowed ending the serum inside him before he blasted them with fire making them screech in pain as they were reduced to dust.
"What did you do to him?" Scar asked.
"How the fuck should I know?" Sean asked just as confused before approaching the one that was caught as it snarled at him.
Rushing around he found Chopper who was pretty much slashed apart making him sigh seeing these new Xenos got to him.
"Hmm?" Sean asked as his chest started moving before a chestbuster came out and screeched before he grabbed it and made a suspension capsule to contain it. "Studying this will come in handy later I hope." Sean said.
Later
"How...Troubling." The Elder said viewing the new Xeno behind a containment field.
"So let me get this straight. This thing is a combination of basically Shrieker, Mutated Shark, Xenomorph and Assblaster?" Korra asked baffled.
"All four in one. The Shark DNA helps them regenerate like those Shriekers I dealt with in Dakota during the final Brainiac incident. The Xenomorphs must have come from either the Colony or from Borgia industries. We already know he got the Shrieker DNA from the second incident. The Ass Blasters weren't that long ago and we had to double back to the site of the first one we killed but Grendel must have already taken a sample." Sean said.
Turok looked at it before throwing some food in making it start eating it.
"What are you doing?" Scar asked.
"Confirming a theory." Turok said as it started hacking.
"Oh no." Sean said in concern as it started roaring before something came out.
"Oh my god!" Korra yelled in disgust.
"Uh guys...It's moving." Turok said shocking them before a mini version came out of the sack and made smaller shrieking sounds.
"Oh thats not good. It has all the traits of the Shriekers. Meaning they no longer need eggs or a queen for that matter. They can just eat enough and make more or get wounded and replicate. Either way it's bad news." Sean said.
"The good news is that as long as it's turned to ash it can't replicate." Celtic said as the new one was already at the adult size and snarled at him.
"The bad news is they took Burk and no doubt extending his life to make more of these things." Sean said.
"Grendel is becoming more and more of a threat by the day. We need to eliminate him now." Wolf said.
"He and I are pretty much equal in power. I just need to know what it is that I did to him and maybe I can prevent it in the first place and avoid all this." Sean said.
"I don't think you can to be honest." Korra said.
Meanwhile
"That went well." Zoom said seeing the new Xenomorphs.
"Too bad we didn't eliminate Kruger when we had the perfect chance." Prometheus said.
"In time. When that happens I want the whole world to despair knowing their greatest hero is dead." Grendel said.
"And they'll lose the will to fight." Malgus said.
"Exactly." Grendel said as he and Malgus left.
"Theres something very strange about him. He knows things no one should know. When they take place and why." Savitar said.
"Yes I know. He's hiding something. And we need to find out what or our lives could be on the line." Zoom said.
Authors Note: Oh no. A new species of Xenomorphs that are ten times more dangerous than the normal ones. Things are going to get a lot more tense because of this. I know this Chapter was short but it was necessary to introduce these new beasts and believe me this is just the tip of the ice berg believe me.
