Chapter 68 Fearful symmetry
It's been a month since the new members of the League joined and since the rest of the world became fully allied after the evil General's intentions had become clear.
And since both Sunny and Chrissie gave birth to a son and daughter separately.
And since Mowgli had gotten pregnant next.
After all that though...Things took a turn for the unexpected yet foretold expected.
As Grendel said Mongol had tried to take Superman down but because of the warning they were ready and he was killed by Beowulf with his head now on Sean's side as a warning to others he was not to be underestimated.
Then Ares did indeed create the Annihilator armor with Hephaestus.
Thankfully Sage was able to take it down by convincing people not to fight.
Ares of course lost it and tried to kill her and her team.
Only for God Slayer Sean to arrive which frightened him knowing how powerful he was.
In the end he was killed by him and absorbed him to prevent his power from running wild.
Zeus of course didn't like this and demanded he release his son.
Only to get beaten within an inch of his own life by the same person and warned him to stay in line or there would be consequences.
Right now though.
Sunny giggled as she held her son Marcus who giggled at his mother.
"You are just the cutest thing. Yes you are." Sunny said blowing on his tummy making him burst into a fit of giggles.
"See? Told you you'd be a good mom." Saya said making her smile.
"Yeah. I miss the more wild life but this...Totally worth giving it up." Sunny said as Marcus yawned making her smile as she took him to bed.
Chrissie smiled as she held her daughter Sarah who snored lightly in her arms.
"She'd be proud of you." Sean said behind her.
"Yeah. I miss my little sister but...I'll always have her in my heart." Chrissie said kissing her forehead as she yawned.
"AHHHHH!" Kara screamed making him bolt up.
"Kara?" Sean asked as she panted from just now waking up before noticing the holes in the ceiling. "Oh not again." Sean said annoyed.
"Sorry...I don't know whats wrong Lately." Kara said making him frown.
Later
M'gann was looking through Kara's mind on this matter.
"Hmm. How long has this been going on?" M'gann asked.
"About a couple months now. Last thing I wanna do is scare the kids because of this." Kara said.
"I will say this is bit more complex than a dream. It felt real and at the same time it didn't feel like you were the one doing it." M'gann said.
"What are you trying to say? A vision?" Kara asked concerned.
"I'm not sure. I'm gonna take you off the active roster till you can sort this out." M'gann said leaving making her sigh.
Soon she was with Deadshot, Heatwave and Captain Cold.
"What's the big deal? People always have nightmares." Mick said.
"These weren't just dreams. They felt like they really happened." Kara said.
"Well, I know this is far fetched but before the Legends days I had a dream about us stealing a valuable painting we were planning to steal. Thing is...It happened exactly like the dream. It could be a vision of you...Or under someone's control like say...Grendel." Snart said.
"I don't know. Grendel's objectives were always going after Sean and him alone. Everything he's done has always been about him." Kara said.
"Maybe you've just been in Kansas too long. Along with those alien abduction things." Mick said.
"Wouldn't be so sure."
Everyone looked and saw a man without a face in a blue trench coat walking to them. This was the Question a detective as good if not better than Batman. (For some reason I hear this a lot)
"Especially since she's the alien. Got all the signs of repressed memory. People dream what their minds don't want to remember. Easy to convince themselves it's all bunk." Question said.
"Repressed memories of what? When?" Deadshot asked.
"You've been to STAR labs treated for injuries." Question said.
"Yeah, about a year ago when Hardcastle attacked us to try and control the league. I got hit pretty bad and sent to Star Labs to recover for a few days." Kara said.
"Meaning theres a gap you can't account for. Thats when." Question said.
"Ok enough. Don't listen to this guy. Everything is always conspiracies with him." Deadshot said.
"Not conspiracies. Conspiracy. Singular." Question said.
Soon he led them to his room.
"Reaching back to Ancient Egypt there's been a single cabal of powerful individuals directing the course of human history. But the common man prefers to believe they don't exist which aids their success." Question said showing a chart of things news articles and what not.
"Oh come on this is all bull. Who the hell would gain from all this garbage?" Deadshot asked.
"Who indeed." Question asked.
"What does any of this have to do with my dreams?" Kara asked.
"If I'm right, you're part of it. You'll need my help." Question said as he walked out.
"Now wait a minute." Deadshot said going after him. "This is ridicules. This might prove she shouldn't eat nachos before bed." Deadshot said.
"Peanut butter sandwiches." Question said.
"How did you...Do you go through my trash?" Kara asked a little creeped out.
"Please...I go through everyones trash." Question said.
"Who invited this guy anyway?" Mick asked.
"Sean did since he seems to think he's on par with Batman." Kara said.
Later
The group was at the Metropolis Star Labs with Hamilton.
"This is where we treated you when you were in your recovering. You were in something of stasis. I promise you weren't running around on violent missions." Hamilton said.
"Well, then, professor Hamilton, maybe you can explain why her memories led her here?" Question asked.
"I think I can actually. You mentioned some sort of torture device. With robotic arms and a long probe in the center." Hamilton said.
"Not to sound rude but can you cut to the chase. Have you seen something like it?" Snart asked.
"As a matter of fact." Hamilton said before opening a door showing a robot fitting the exact description.
"Thats it." Kara said before it approached looking much smaller than in her dream.
"It's not a torture device. It's a surgical robot. Thats a Kryptonite tipped lance. It was how we managed to operate on you considering your invulnerable. It helped us in your operation. As for the rest of your dream. We humans are used to feeling vulnerable. But to you, surgery must have seemed terribly invasive. And powerless to defend yourself It's possible your mind constructed a scenario of fighting back." Hamilton said making her frown.
Soon the group left.
"Well, that cleared things up." Mick said.
"A little to well." Question said.
"Does everything have a sinister motive in your world?" Deadshot asked getting a little annoyed by this.
"Yours, too. You just don't know it." Question said before a couple of helicopters arrived.
"Um guys?" Kara said before a robot jumped and attacked Supergirl while the men went after her team.
"Ok this is a bit sudden." Captain Cold said before Heatwave used his flamethrower on them to push them back.
Deadshot shot most of the troops in non vital spots making them pull back just as Supergirl destroyed the robot with ease.
"The hell was that all about?" Mick asked.
"What do you think? We're asking questions people don't want answered." Question said approaching the downed robot.
"You need to learn a new tone since it's getting old." Snart said.
"Starting to think he's right. That robot went right after me. The rest of this was to keep you all busy." Kara said.
"Standard Z8 combat trainer." Question said inspecting the robot.
"Like the ones the League uses for training." Deadshot said.
"So?" Kara asked.
"So, who do we buy them from?" Question asked.
"The army I think...Wait a minute!" Kara said frowning.
"Another fun fact. The man who commissioned the Z8 project. Also shot you last year." Question said.
"Hardcastle? He's been dishonorably discharged. After that stunt he pulled." Kara said.
"True...But that doesn't mean the League didn't keep tabs on him to make sure it stayed that way." Question said.
"He's got a point." Deadshot said.
Later
The group arrived at a cabin out in the wilderness miles away from any city.
Entering the cabin they walked in looking for Hardcastle.
"Figured someone would come for me someday." Hardcastle said before turning on the light. "Only I thought it would be from the other side." Hardcastle said aiming a special gun at Kara. "This weapon fires a projectile of Kryptonite pellets suspended in liquid silicon core. Causes maximum scatter on impact. Only gets one shot but believe me blondie it will get the job done." Hardcastle said.
"We're not here to hurt you. We just want answers." Kara said.
"Sorry if I don't take your word for it. After all...Your little league got me dishonorably discharged." Hardcastle said before Mick got in the way.
"Now what? You fire that thing at me and all you'll do is piss her off." Mick said before Deadshot shot the gun out of his hand.
"Now then. Tell us a story." Deadshot said.
Minutes later
"The Army disowned my ass after I tried to take most of you in to go to war against the rest of the world. They didn't believe in my ideals. Idiots. I thought Lane or Eiling would have at least supported me...But I guess they prefer peace with our enemies instead of taking them out for good." Hardcastle said.
"Enough. What do you know?" Deadshot asked.
"I know for a fact that one of these days they're gonna shut me up. I know things that you don't after all." Hardcastle said.
"Who will? What do you know?" Kara asked.
"The Military and big business have been in cahoots for decades. Top secret stuff experiments on Metahumans, aliens and much more. Searching for technologies for both national security and profit. That Volcana Woman she was one of ours before Kruger got to her. Along with the Big Bang in Dakota as they call it. Those chemicals came from us that Alva was developing for us." Harcastle said.
"Any of it have to do with Supergirl?" Snart asked.
"It has to do with all of them. Your Little space club all your members both military and hero alike theres file on you no matter what species, planet or universe. But I don't know anything about these dreams of yours. If it is connected to these people I've been kept out of the loop too long." Hardcastle said.
"So how do we find these guys?" Deadshot asked.
"You don't they find you." Hardcastle said before they left.
"Well, that was completely useless." Mick said.
"Not really. I need time to process this." Question said before they suddenly were teleported away.
Hardcastle was in the middle of getting a drink when the door opened up.
"What now? I told you everything I...Supergirl?" Hardcastle said seeing a woman who looked exactly like her but her hair was shorter and she wearing a white leotard with a hole in the chest area similar to Power girl.
"Yes...And no. Names Galatea. Are you a friend, General?" Galatea asked making him widen his eyes as he reached for the gun but as he touched it it blew up since Deadshot damaged it. "I'll take that as a no. Just answer me one question. Was Kruger here?" Galatea asked.
"No...Why?" Hardcastle asked.
"Damn. Oh well." Galatea said before her eyes glowed.
Meanwhile
"Hmm." Sean said going over the file that day when Hardcastle attacked without warning.
"Something on your mind son?" Eiling asked.
"I'm just now asking this but what if Hardcastle was...following orders on that day. Something about that attack doesn't seem right. He had access to some serious weapons that day. But he chose the lesser of what he could have taken." Sean said.
"He did wound Super Girl." Eiling said.
"I know and thats what bothers me." Sean said before an alert came up. "Yeah?" Sean asked.
"We just got a missing person's report. Matches the decryption of the guy from Kara's dream." M'gann said showing it.
"That can't be a coincidence." Eiling said.
"Deadshot, Snart, Mick and Kara are investigating the company he works for to see whats going on." M'gann said.
"Hmm." Sean said before getting another report.
"Hardcastle is dead. Guy looks like he got heat vision to the head." Atomic skull said.
"Ok now I'm concerned." Sean said standing up.
Meanwhile
Kara and her group minus Question were in Nuvo-Gen going through all the computers.
"I hate computers. Give me a beer any day." Mick said.
"Think of this as a heist." Snart said.
"Is stealing all you can think of?" Kara asked amused.
"It's so me." Snart said making her snort in amusement. (I wouldn't change this Snart for anything)
"Whatever this guy was doing made him nervous." Deadshot said looking through the files till he came upon one document. "Oh boy."
"What?" Mick asked.
"Hardcastle was right. They've been experimenting with Metahuman DNA." Deadshot said.
"Not just any DNA. My DNA. Look." Kara said showing a file on her clone. "She looks just like me." Kara said.
"Uh maybe a couple years apart." Mick said seeing some slight differences.
"That explains why you're seeing everything she is." Snart said.
"Now hold up. What about those clones from the Legion in the Star Wars Universe. Theres millions of them and I never heard of them seeing what the other does." Deadshot said.
"To be fair those guys are professionals and have been in the game for thousands of years. Cloning is still relativily new to us." Snart said making them look at him. "I do pay attention to these things." Snart said.
Suddenly someone ran past the door.
"HEY!" Deadshot yelled as they followed the person who ran away before they entered some room that was empty.
"I don't like this." Mick said before the room lit up and changed into a city.
"The hell?" Kara said.
"It's a hologram chamber. Like the kind in the Danger room in the Mutant Universe. Some kind of Training Program." Deadshot said.
"My training program." Galatea said flying down to them before she slammed Kara into a wall before flying up before she followed suit. "So what do you think? It's important to like yourself and I am you after all." Galatea said.
"You lured us here. When your little flunkies failed." Kara said.
"It's almost like your reading my mind. Which is kinda of the problem and why you have to die." Galatea said about to punch her.
"Yeah nice try." Sean said down below with Atomic skull and Sage as they flew down. "You planned this way in advance long before she started seeing what you were doing." Sean said.
"It's because the link works both ways...Doesn't it." Korra said making her frown.
"And It got in the way of your work." Sean said.
"NO! It's not fair is why I'm doing this!" Galatea yelled.
"Fair?" Sean asked.
"Why should I have to work for a bunch of stuck of military jerks and do something thats not even my business! And I Kept seeing how happy you two were together...IT'S NOT FAIR!" Galatea yelled punching a building.
"Then leave." Sean said.
"I can't. You don't know what these people are capable of doing. Besides theres a bomb in my head" Galatea said.
Sean however searched through her brain.
"No there isn't." Sean said shocking her. "Theres nothing in there. They most likely couldn't risk anything happening to you or risk having a year's worth of training for nothing." Sean said making her growl.
"So you gonna leave them?" Korra asked.
"I..." Galatea tried to say before the whole place started blowing up.
"NO TIME TO ANSWER!" Sean yelled making a portal for all of them to escape.
Later
Project Cadmus?" Batman asked.
"Thats the name of the group who made me into what I am." Galatea said.
"Who made you?" Superman asked.
"I...Don't remember. These guys are paranoid. They always erase my memories on certain things before I go out into the field incase I'm captured." Galatea said.
"Smart. These guys are covering their tracks." Sean said.
"What I don't get is why all this started." Deadshot said.
"This all started because someone has a grudge." Question said looking at reports.
"Grendel." Kara said.
"No. Not him. This has nothing to do with him. At least it doesn't appear that way. No...I think someone has a grudge against someone we all know." Question said.
"Who?" Korra asked.
"That is the question." Question said.
Meanwhile
"We just lost an irreplaceable asset because of her foolishness."
"We have a contingency. May not be flesh and blood but it will suffice."
Thats when someone entered the room showing it was Hamilton.
"Where is she?" Hamilton asked.
"Where do you think? I told you this idea was a mistake to clone some alien bitch. Hard working American soldiers are what we need. Not some foreigners."
"Norris shut up."
"You know I'm right." Norris said.
"Enough." Colonel Hayley said.
"You started this group Hayley. You need to start making harder choices." Norris said.
"Do I need to remind you I made sure you weren't dishonorably discharged for your screw up five years ago?" Hayley asked making him glare. "I'm gonna make sure Amanda loses everything...Just as she made me lose my daughter in the field six years ago." Hayley said.
Later
Sean sighed as he arrived in his home to relax.
"Not only Grendel but Now I gotta worry about some other group too. I need a vacation." Sean said.
"How bout some relaxing instead?"
Sean looked seeing Grail in nothing but her birthday suit grinning at him.
"Oh this is a treat. I killed the mighty darkseid and yet his daughter is in my bed." Sean said amused making her giggle.
"And I can see you clearly need to relax love." Grail said as he walked to her before pulling her into a kiss making her moan into his mouth.
Thats when she flipped him on his back and grins at him before her eyes glowed and fired her own omegabeam destroying his clothes.
"Was that really necessary?" Sean asked making her smirk.
"I'm not wasting anymore time." Grail said before yelping as she was forced on her front as he laid on top of her making her giggle. "Gonna punish me babe?" Grail asked making him smirk.
"This is why you and Korra get along so well." Sean said.

Grail yelped as he spanked her pale ass making her giggle shaking it.
"Go on. I like punishment." Grail said making him smirk.

Grail panted as she felt her ass sting.
After a while she yelled as she came on the sheets making Sean chucked lightly as he leaned down kissing her neck making her moan softly.
"Your not wanting a kid are ya?" Sean asked.
"No not yet. Tempting but I'll wait a couple more years. Or at least until this other group is finished." Grail said flipping him on his back grinning at him as she impaled herself on him making her moan loudly feeling him all the way in as he took hold of her stinging hips making her smile as she started bouncing on top of him.
Grail moaned and whimpered as she thrusted down on him with powerful thrusts as she placed her hands on his chest as he held her hips.
Leaning down she started kissing him making her moan into his mouth.
Thats when he flipped them over with him on top of her making her grin as he thrusted into her quickly and with powerful thrusts making her breasts bounce from each impact.
"Ah! AH! AHHH! AHHH!" Grail yelled as she experienced hights of pleasure making him smirk kissing her making her moan as she wrapped her legs around him as he took a deeper thrust into her.
"AHHHHHHHH!" Grail screamed as she came hard as he came inside her making her shudder in ecstasy making him smirk kissing her making her moan into his mouth as he pulled the sheets over them as she snuggled into his chest.
"AHHhhh. I love you so much hon." Grail said making him smirk.
"And I love you Grail Kruger." Sean said making her smile softly as she held her stomach knowing that unlike her any children she had would be treated better and not be discarded like her father did with her.
Authors note: Oh things just took an interesting turn. Now Galatea is with the League since Sean helped her realize she was being lied to. Now whats their contingency plan?
