Chapter 78 A breath of Fresh Air

Sean looked at Grendel unmasked for the first time seeing him look almost like him.

"Like looking in a mirror huh? Well...Nearly." Grendel said showing his red eyes.

"So...Your a clone. Made from the guy who made me into what I am today." Sean said.

"Oh yeah. I was the original. I was supposed to be in the position your in today. But...Something really funny happened when I was ready. He just flat out said I wasn't what he wanted. I argued with him I could do what you do no problem and wouldn't be held back by some pathetic morality. But he didn't agree with me...And tried to kill me." Grendel said.

"Oh he explained that part to me. Said none of you could understand the difference between Good and Evil. I on the other hand can because I was raised by those with morality. You weren't. You were just trained to do what I do. But no doubt because you weren't raised to understand good and evil...He knew you wouldn't bring about better change as I have. Hell. I don't even want this life." Sean said.

"And that is what pisses me off the most. You have everything I want but you don't even care about all that power at your disposal." Grendel said.

"Some people don't care about power. I just do what I do because it's the right thing to do." Sean said.

"Well...I assure you the right thing is gonna cost you more than you could ever realize. You stole everything from me. I was supposed to be in your position. I was the one who was supposed to be famous and powerful in this world. And yet he left it all to you." Grendel said.

"And he'd do it any day over you. Because I don't care about only myself. Unlike you." Sean said making him growl as he vanished.

Later

"So...Grendel is actually you? Oh man it's like Savitar all over again." Cisco said.

"No. He's not me exactly. He's not some time Remnant or from some alternative timeline. He's a clone made by the same guy who made me into what I am today." Sean said.

"So why does he hate you so much?" Oliver asked.

"Grendel was supposed to be me who I am today. But the guy who made us choose me since every clone he made all ended up the same. They couldn't tell the difference between good and evil." Sean said.

"So he choose you since he knew if you were actually raised you would have better morals than him and the others." Superman said.

"Exactly." Sean said.

"Now it's all making sense. He blames you for taking his spot but it was his own doing that caused him to lose it." Rip said.

"Seems that way." Ray said.

"So...What if we go back to before he was almost killed and warn the guy who made him and prevent all this?" Nate asked.

"Can't. History has already been altered to the point it's irreversible. It's part of history now." Stein said.

"And we have no idea where the guy is anyway." Sean said.

"Theres gotta be someway we can stop him." Thea said.

"The best we can do is stop him." Amanda said.

"Anyway. Korra and I are heading back to Republic City. A few spirit vines have taken over the area." Sean said.

"Aren't you supposed to take office in a couple months?" Lantern asked.

"I still got plenty of time before that." Sean said as they left.

"I want security upgraded on the Watch Tower." Lane said.

"Already on it." Eiling said.

Later

Bumi was chasing his Spirit friend before climbing a tree.

"If you don't wanna wear the sweater I made you, Thats fine. I'm sorry I got mad." Bumi said climbing towards but he flew away. "I'm running out of tree here." Bumi said before it began to break.

"Oh shit." Bumi said before it broke making him scream wailing his arms around like crazy before he shockingly airbended.

"What? I'm airbending!" Bumi yelled before crashing down. "Ow. That still hurt like hell."

Meanwhile

Sean chuckled seeing the spirit vines were leaving peacefully out of the district.

"This is easy." Sean said.

"You know Raiko has tried to get his former position back." Tenzin said.

"Oh please. After his stunt we put back the old system since one man proved having one person in charge here it is not the best idea. Especially when he's been proven a liar about his ideals." Sean said as he left.

Arriving at City hall he was about to tell people the results.

"YOU!" Raiko yelled stomping to him.

"Oh hell. What do you want now?" Sean asked annoyed.

"You ruined me! Got me kicked out of office. Just to protect you so called Heroes. The universe doesn't need heroes. It needs obedience!" Raiko yelled making people boo at him making him growl.

"Go bother someone else. EX president. At least when I'm in office I'll be keeping my promises." Sean said.

"Oh no you won't because you won't be President there...I will." Raiko said shocking the crowd.

"Huh?" Sean asked baffled by that.

"Thats right. I am officially throwing my hat into the ring for President of the United states in that universe. And I will win." Raiko said proudly.

"Uh...No you won't." Sean said.

"Oh yes I will. I am throwing my hat into the ring." Raiko said.

"You can't actually do that." Sean said.

"Watch me." Raiko said arrogantly.

"I mean you can't do that because your not a US citizen you dumbass." Sean said confusing him.

"What are you talking about? I wasn't born in Republic City and yet I still won the election here." Raiko said.

"Thats because the rules here aren't the same. Back home in the US you can only be President if your a natural born Citizen of the Country. Which your not!" Sean said shocking him. "See this is another reason you were kicked out. You're a fucking moron." Sean said making people laugh. "Did you even bother to read the election rules? Or did you just flat out ignore it thinking you could do anything you wanted no questions asked?" Sean asked making him snarl in rage as he tried to slug him but Sean side stepped making him fall down the stairs.

"Idiot." Sean said making him growl as he left.

"He seriously can't be president unless he's actually born in the country? Thats kind of a waste." Lin said.

"Yeah there are some people who could lead it better but can't because of that rule." Sean said. (If that rule didn't exist Our Favorite Terminator could have been president)

"So...Hows the search for your evil twin?" Lin asked.

"Very funny. He's in the wind and more than likely won't be found for some time." Sean said leaving.

Korra and the others were at Air temple island enjoying a nice meal while Bumi was trying to airbend. He said he could earlier but nothing was happening.

Thats when Sean walked in.

"Hey babe." Korra said as he sat down and kissed her before taking Junior from her arms as she held the the other two.

"What the hell is he doing?" Sean asked about Bumi.

"He says he Airbended earlier. Probably another one of his jokes." Korra said giggling.

"I gotta say, I love being a part of this family. You got the grumpy dad, the wacky uncle. The put-Upon mom, The sex craved girls." Bumi said.

"HEY!" Jinora and Ikki yelled annoyed by that making Pema giggle.

"Where the hell is Mako?" Sean asked not seeing him.

"He's staying at the Police station in the city." Bolin said.

"Why am I not surprised?" Sean asked.

"So how did things go?" Korra asked.

"Raiko tried to throw his name into the ring but he can't since he's not from the country." Sean said making her snort.

"Did you see that? I think the napkin moved." Bumi said.

"You blew on it." Kya said annoyed.

"Maybe I can only do it when my life is in danger." Bumi said.

"Did your mom Drop you as a baby?" Sean asked making Korra and the boys giggle.

"Oh please you can't just bend out of the blue." Korra said before Mathayus grabbed a plate and threw it at Bumi making him yelp before waving his hands around before he actually airbent it.

"I TOLD YOU!" Bumi yelled as everyone was beyond shocked.

"Ok what in the hell just happened there." Sean said confused.

"Unbelievable. Your actually an Airbender." Tenzin said.

"Oh wow. If only Dad was alive so I could rub it in his face!" Bumi said before the plate dropped and broke. "Sorry." Bumi said.

Later

Bumi was trying to airbend again but nothing was happening.

"Why can't I figure this out!" Bumi asked.

"Do you think being in the spirit world during harmonic convergence could've given him bending?" Korra asked Sean who held Junior while she held Jack and Mathayus.

"No...Thats not it." Sean said scratching his head.

"Maybe uncle Bumi is just a late bloomer." Ikki said.

"Thats not how it works." Jinora said.

"I have been noticing a change in your aura lately." Kya said.

"And you didn't tell me?" Bumi asked making her annoyed before Lin walked to them.

"Invisible spirit monster attack?" Lin asked.

"Not even close." Sean said.

"You won't believe this. Bumi just started airbending." Tenzin said making her widen her eyes.

"He's not the only one." Lin said.

"What do you mean by that?" Korra asked.

"Last night some of my officers were investigating a disturbance at a shop. Turns out the owner's brother started airbending. He got away but they could see he was actually airbending." Lin said.

"I don't understand though how could people just start airbending out of the blue?" Tenzin asked.

"Uh I may have a theory." Sean said.

"What is it?" Korra asked as Jack in her arms yawned.

"The spirit portals have been open for about over two years now. It's possible during that time the energies from the spirit world have been trying to balance out certain aspects of the world. So those energies may have made brand new Benders." Sean said.

"That does seem logical." Teznzin said.

"Awwww. And here I wanted us to make new Airbenders the old fashioned way." Ikki said making his eyes twitch while Sean chuckled as Korra giggled lightly.

"You have corrupted my daughters." Tenzin said.

"What makes you think she wasn't already like this?" Korra asked amused making Mathayus giggle in her arms.

"Ugh." Tenzin said before looking at Peme who whistled in innocence. "She no doubt gets this from you." Tenzin said making her smile.

"What does that even mean?" Sean asked.

"It means I was a wild girl in my younger years." Pema said proudly.

Later

"I can't believe it. New Benders. I wonder if the other universes went through this." Korra said.

"They probably did since most of our histories are virtually the same with some bigger differences but virtually still the same." Sean said.

"You know this thought had actually occurred to me before hand. If they have all the knowledge of future events why not just tell us beforehand?" Korra asked.

"Because not all the events are completely the same. For instance in the Avatars of Old universe while Unalaq did try to free Vaatu he also tried to free another known as Miraak who was an old student of the second Avatar of Life and then they betrayed him and killed him. The Star Wars universe Unalaq tried to take control of the whole universe by using Lay lines that tapped into the everyone but failed. For every universe there are similarities but also differences. So even if they did actually warn us it doesn't mean it would happen the same way in which case we would be prepared for the wrong things." Sean said.

"I guess that makes sense. After all just saying something is going to happen doesn't make it true." Korra said.

"Yup." Sean said.

"GUYS!" Bolin yelled getting their attention. "Mako and the others found the new airbender on top of Kyoshi bridge and he won't come down." Bolin said.

"Of course." Sean said as they left.

"I got this." Sean said having his wings appear and flew up.

"You seem to be in good spirits." Tenzin said to Korra who held the boys close making her smile.

"Yeah...Things are really looking up." Korra said as Sean and the new airbender came down making the crowd cheer.

"So this is the deal? We have a crisis every other day now, thanks to you?" Raiko asked making his presence known.

"Get lost pal." Sean said.

"Oh no. I am here to make it known. I am throwing my name into the campaign." Raiko said.

"We already been through this. You can't throw your name in just because you say so." Sean said annoyed.

"Oh but I can. Since the rules state you can't compete if you're from a different country. However the rules are not strict on the matter if your from another universe." Raiko said shocking the crowd.

"Again wrong." Sean said annoyed.

"What do you mean wrong?" Raiko asked angered.

"I told you already. You can't be president because your NOT A US citizen. You have to be born into the country in order to be eligible to be accepted to compete in the election. Again of which you are NOT! Get it through your head. You can't run for president because your not a US citizen. You could probably get away with it in a different country but not there." Sean said making him snarl as he tried to slug him but he easily dodged.

"YOU RUINED EVERYTHING FOR ME! I WAS GONNA RID BOTH WORLDS OF YOU PATHETIC HEROES! THE WORLDS NEED OBEDIENCE!" Raiko yelled before he was arrested making him roar as he tried to get free.

"Dumbass." Sean said.

"I think we should leave for a while. Maybe we could find some new airbenders." Korra said.

"Sure. One last thing to do before I take office." Sean said.

"Don't think I'm not going with you two." Tenzin said making them smile. "It's so exciting. who knows who's out there right now, discovering the gift of airbending for the first time?" Tenzin said. (You and your fat mouth!)

Meanwhile

Zaheer sat in a cell that he's been for about 17 years since he was defeated by Batman.

In that time he's been constantly questioned about his intentions.

Thats when blood sprayed on the walls outside his cell making him look before it opened up revealing.

"Hello...Zaheer." Grendel said.

"You again. What do you want? It's been 17 years and now you decide to free me?" Zaheer asked.

"You still work for me. And besides I didn't think the Batman would come here." Grendel said.

"You knew about him?" Zaheer asked.

"He...Is someone even the four of you would have trouble facing back then. But now you can." Grendel said grabbing him before he was engulfed in black flame making him groan before he let go and Zaheer actually airbended him away.

"What?" Zaheer asked.

"History repeats in all universes. In the ones I know you always become an Airbender after the Convergence. However because of one of those universes warning Amanda Waller beforehand...They came up with a magic that suppressed it. It was in your drink. But now it has been expunged." Grendel said.

"And why should I work for you a second time when you got me put here 17 years ago?" Zaheer asked before grunting as he was pushed into the wall.

"This...Is not up for debate. You don't trust me? I don't care. I have an important mission for you. I want you to capture the Avatar or die trying." Grendel said.

Meanwhile

Mento was not happy lately.

Ever since the incident during the Convergence the world had turned their back on the doom patrol.

No one trusted them anymore.

In truth it was his own fault because of his arrogance.

But he blamed Sean because in his mind it was fault.

And now he was going to be president soon since Luthor was dead now with his skull on Sean's wall as part of his collection.

That pissed him off the most knowing he may be forced to disband the Doom patrol if that happens.

Suddenly he got an alert making him answer it.

"Who is this?" Mento asked.

"Who I am is of little importance. But I know you Mento. And I know recent events have troubled you regarding Kruger. And I can help you."

"Who are you?" Mento asked.

"Again that matters little...I know how to deal with him. Make it so the world trusts you again."

Suddenly some dagger appeared on the screen.

"This particular dagger has a certain effect on Celestials. Stab him with this and it kills him. Erases him from existence. No heaven nor hell. It's like he never existed."

This shocked him.

"Wait a second your talking about killing him. The world isn't gonna stand for that." Mento said.

"They will when you reveal he's been manipulating everyone for his own gains. You'll gain their support again."

Author's note: I was gonna do a lemon but I decided against it. Anyway Next Chapter we head off to find new Airbenders. And there will be a lemon this time around. I hope everyone is excited for the new Year cause I am. Especially with the new Godzilla X Kong Movie. I wanna see this new original Villian.
