Chapter Two: The Talk
Disclaimer: See Chapter One
Hello everyone, those who are enjoying my work, and like my first foray into the FOP fanfic community. I wanted to address a review I got on chapter one, I chose to address the it's a wishful life episode last time as it was an episode that didn't get fully explained as to what it was meant to be, and everything that Jorgen was trying say was better without Timmy felt off, so it being just a large lesson for Timmy makes the most sense, and Jorgen was just acting as like it was true. Anyway, On with the Show:
Last time:
Both godparents looked at each other, and sighed. "Timmy asked us a few weeks ago if we could adopt him.
"Oh, well then," Jorgen was surprised. Today had apparently been full of surprises for Jorgen.
On with the main show:
Upon regaining his composure after getting surprised for the second time today, and after the concept of a human child, specifically Timmy Turner, wanting to be adopted by his fairies fully processed as he hasn't heard that one in a long time, Jorgen said "Well, that is not something I was expecting today, then again, today has been full of surprises."
"We weren't expecting it either, Jorgen. I mean sure, for the past while, we have been the ones that have been doing most of the parenting, more than his actual parents but still we were taken by surprise." Wanda said.
"So instead of disappointing Timmy, we threw ourselves into our work as godparents, while we figured out how to approach this subject with both him and you." Cosmo said, briefly showing that he is not a complete idiot.
"Well, you need to go talk to him, as he was about to erase himself from existence with the magic muffin that I gave him." Jorgen told the two fairies to their stunned horror.
"He what?" Both fairies asked with the concern of a parent in their voices.
"Exactly as I said, he even told me so." Jorgen said. It was at this moment that Chloe walked back in with a plate of muffins.
"Muffins are ready, get them while they are hot," she said. Jorgen grabbed the top one and popped the whole thing into his mouth.
"Delicious as always, Chloe, however, there is a matter that your godparents need to deal with." Jorgen said as he grabbed another muffin.
"Chloe, I know we promised to go to help the elderly, but we are need to go see Timmy." Wanda said to her.
"Okay, can I come with you?" Chloe asked.
"This is something we need to do ourselves, but we will be back later, and we can do whatever you like." Cosmo said.
"Okay, see you guys later." Chloe said. With a final muffin for Jorgen, all three fairies poofed out.
Timmy was looking down at the floor in misery, he was so fixated on the floor, that he didn't even here the fairies poof in. Cosmo and Wanda turned in the human forms that they used for when the Turners weren't home, or when they had to be at Parent-Teacher conferences.
"Timmy?" Cosmo asked, Timmy didn't even look up at them.
"Timmy?" Wanda asked in a concerned motherly tone, and that did it. His head lifted to see the three fairies.
"Mo- Wanda?" The slip up in Timmy's word use did not go unnoticed by Jorgen, turning his head slightly to look at his godfather, "Cosmo? So, now you guys come back to see me?"
"We're sorry Timmy, we just threw ourselves into our work, until we could answer your question, we didn't want to disappoint you, but we just didn't know what to do," Wanda said, her voice full of sorrow.
"While you two were off doing whatever you were doing with Chloe, I was here being miserable, dealing with Vicky every other day, Crocker every day, which I am surprised that neither of you hopped over during school to see me," both fairies winced, they did avoid him at school, not out of malice, but concern, as they didn't have an answer to his request, and they had figured he would ask them about it as soon as he saw them, they just needed more time. "This morning I woke up to being alone, with a note on the table saying they were on vacation again, without me, saying they thought I was old enough to take care of myself for a week, and they didn't say they love me fully, as it said we guess at the end on." All three fairies were shocked and appalled, even Jorgen's mouth fell open. Timmy handed his fairies the note he found that morning. Reading it, To Timmy, Your Father and I have gone on vacation, you will be ok on your own for a week, you are old enough to take care of yourself. Vicky will be checking in every few days. We love you; we guess. Their faces shifted to fury. Wanda looked like she was ready to kill, and Cosmo was equally angry about this situation. Timmy began to cry, as it seemed like no one loved him.
Taking Timmy into her lap, and wrapping her arms around him, Wanda held her godson that she did see as a second son, Cosmo wrapped his arms around both of them. "We're sorry Timmy, we didn't know, if we did, we would have come back to check on you more often." Wanda placed a kiss on Timmy's forehead.
"However, we do promise now that you will get our attention, as much as we can, as we do have to check in with Chloe," Cosmo said.
"We know you have been miserable but so far as to try to erase yourself from existence? All you had to do was just come over and talk to us at Chloe's and we would have done something at least." Wanda said, a bit scolding, but out of love.
In-between sobs into Wanda's chest, Timmy asked "I will ask again, can you guys adopt me as a son."
Both of them looked at each other, and then looked at Jorgen with looks that said, 'Can we have him?'
Sighing, "There is only one way to make this legal. You must go before the Fairy Council and prove to them that both his human parents are unfit to be his parents, and that you would be better parents. If you fail, I fear that you will not be allowed to see each other again. Be warned, this will be difficult, perhaps your greatest challenge, I also fear in a way this will set a dangerous precedent, be it good or for ill, I cannot tell, as it will shake Fairy World to its core. No child has ever been able to be adopted by their fairies." Jorgen advised, concerned about the possible consequences if this works out.
"So, no pressure then." Cosmo said.
"However, I will admit, if it were to be any pairing of Godparents and Godchild that would be able to do it, it would be you guys, I have seen enough over the decades, that is still a hard thing to process, but I have seen enough to make me believe that you will succeed," Jorgen said.
"Thanks for the vote of confidence, Jorgen." Wanda said, looking down at her godson in her lap.
"I will go ahead and put in the request for a special session of Fairy Court, headed by the Fairy Council. I will return once I know when the session will be held, for now, comfort your godchild, and start to prepare, for we are entering nearly uncharted territory. I will also deal with Chloe for you." With that Jorgen poofed out, leaving the fairy family to comfort each other.
Back at the Carmichaels
Jorgen poofed into Chloe's room, where she was coloring a picture. Clearing his throat, "Chloe?"
"Yes Jorgen? How is Timmy doing?" Chloe asked.
"Not well, in many ways Chloe, I came back as I have some news for you, whether it is good or bad is up to you. I am taking Cosmo and Wanda away from you…" Jorgen didn't get to finish his sentence before he was interrupted.
"What, Why, I didn't reveal the secret or anything, did Timmy?" Chloe asked.
"Let me finish, I am taking them away, and am going to give you a new fairy godparent. Cosmo and Wanda have a much more important task that now lies before them to have to split their attention between two godkids," Jorgen said.
"I thought there was a shortage of fairy godparents?" Chloe said, confused about what she was told.
"There was a shortage, or at least there still is a bit, but not for much longer, as one of the reasons for it have been removed. It will probably be a few days from now before I can assign a godparent for you as there is much I have to deal with in the coming days, but if you need anything, call me." Jorgen handed her a fairy cellphone. "Do you need anything before I leave?"
"No, I am good." Chloe said, sweetly. Grabbing one last muffin, Jorgen poofed out.
Returning to his office, Jorgen sat behind his desk, and pinched the bridge of his nose, as he knew he had a lot of paperwork to do. First thing to be done was the form for a special session of the Fairy Council.
An hour later, he had filled out the forms he needed to, and had sent Binky to deliver them to the council's clerk. Next, he turned his attention to the task of recalling fairies from their posts that should have been called back sooner.
Back at the Turner Household
The fairy family sat on Timmy's bed, with Timmy in Wanda's lap, crying. Cosmo had one hand on Timmy's back and the other running through Timmy's hair, trying to calm him down.
"How are going to do this, hon? We need a sufficient amount of evidence to prove to the Fairy Council that the Turners are unfit to be parents." Wanda asked as the reality of the situation had just set in that they were going through with this.
"I don't know, and not just because I am an idiot, I have no idea," Cosmo said, trying to form an idea.
It was Timmy that spoke up with an idea. "Use my memories, of their ill doing. That should be enough, right?"
"That is a good start, but we will need more. Fortunately, we have some time, not much, but enough to gather our evidence." Wanda said, worried that they may not have enough with just that, as there was the overhanging possible threat of never seeing Timmy again if they lose. 'We must win,' Wanda thought to herself.
There you have it people, Chapter two of my Timmy gets adopted story. I hope you enjoyed and look forward to what is to come. I have come up with an another "Timmy is the son of Cosmo and Wanda" story that will tackle the topic in a different way, so keep an eye out for it in the future.
Also, wanted to mention a picture I saw on Deviantart, that was of the Fairy Family, Cosmo and Wanda were more human looking, but still had their wings and crowns, and were holding Poof and Timmy, it is so cute, and do I wish it was a thing in the show. Anyway, see you all next time.
The Emperor is Out. Peace.
