Episode 327: Sora vs Katie
Everyone all celebrated their success with a feast at the mess hall of the Pokémon Center. Sora, Brendan, Wally, Tyson, Harrison, and Morrison are among the 32 finalists of the tournament
"Now that the four of us had made it in the finals, that means we use six Pokémon each. And you guys know what that means," Wally said.
"Yeah. Any one of us could be up against each other. So, we gotta be ready for that," Brendan said. Sora and Morrison looked at each other. Morrison just got even more fired up to win it.
"Yeah. Anyone of us could be up against each other. So, we gotta be ready for that," Brendan said.
"He's right. But no matter what happens, we all agree that we give it everything we got out there, right?" Sora asked.
"I completely agree," Tyson said.
"So do I. So who ever ends up battling against me, there's no hard feelings, right?" Harrison asked.
"No hard feelings," Wally said.
"Well, if any one of you ends up battling against me, just get ready to lose!" Morrison said.
"Take your advice, Morrison," Riku said.
"Eevee," Eevee said.
"Yeah, you should plan your strategy carefully. I found that out the hard way when I was in the Johto Pokémon League," Ethan said.
"Whatever will happen might happen, so be ready for that," Rei said.
Everyone all agreed and they all nodded to understand her. They then proceeded to eat their meal.
On the very next morning, it was now the day of the finals to officially begin. Sora exchanged Pelipper, Metagross, Grumpig, and Shedinja for Cacturne, Armaldo, Probopass, and Exploud. He looked at the screen and he's up against the young woman from earlier. And Brendan is up against Morrison. Wally, Tyson, and Harrison were up against other Trainers. Wally, Tyson, and Harrison are having theirs before Sora's while Brendan and Morrison were having theirs after.
"So that's my next opponent, huh?" Sora asked.
"It says her name is Katie and she's from Lilycove City. I doubt she's going to play nice with you, Sora," Riku said.
"Eevee," Eevee said.
"You think you can take her?" Ash asked.
"I can hold my own," Sora said. Leaf just grinned.
"That's our Sora. Always saying what we need to hear," Leaf said.
Harrison won his battle with his Blaziken using Blaze Kick on a Machamp while Tyson has won his battle with his Meowth out and finished off a Rhydon with an Iron Tail. Wally won his battle with Gallade using a Psycho Cut on a Mamoswine.
Sora has decided to use Pikachu, Armaldo, Absol, Cacturne, Exploud, and Probopass against Katie.
"Welcome, ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls. The finals of the Hoenn Pokémon League tournament is about to get under way! As you know, 32 participants will do battle here in the main stadium! And amongst only one will emerge triumphant to climb the stairs and stand atop the podium as champion! Matches will be full battles using all six Pokémon and trainers may make substitutions freely! The Trainers will also need to adapt to four different varities of fields: Grass, Rock, Water, and Ice! When three of either Trainer's Pokémon are rendered unable to battle, there will be a quick break in the match and a battlefield change before the restart!" The announcer announced. The computer begins to choose the battlefield at random. It lands on the rock symbool. "Now, direct your attention to the board which tells us the next battlefield will be a rock battlefield!" The battlefield activates as it changes into the rock field. "Now, that the formalities are out of the way, let me introduce you to the challengers here in today's battle! Coming in on the green corner is Sora Ketchum from Pallet Town and Champion of the Kanto and Johto Pokémon Leagues against Katie from Lilycove City in the red corner!"
In a different section among the spectators, the DigiDestined sat, witnessing the battle before it starts.
"So, what's the intel you have on Katie?" Mimi asked. Izzy spoke up.
"I did my own research," Izzy spoke up. "According to what I have down, she is given the nickname 'Cool Beauty' in accrodance to her fashion and flare. Hobbies includes, playing the clarinet and her favorite food is spicy spaghetti with Tamato Berries."
"Cool Beauty. Sounds like one of those beautiful but deadly kind of nicknames," Koji said.
"Mime, Mime," Mime Jr said.
"Munchlax," Munchlax said.
"Hey, I bet I like spicy spaghetti more than she does," Davis said, making Amy laugh.
"Me too!" Amy said.
"It's official. Those two are made for each other," Yolei whispered to Zoe. She nodded in agreement.
"Wait, there's more. In battle, she uses Venomoth and Golduck and is known for carefully analyzing the moves her opponents uses," Izzy said.
"Let's hope Sora 2 can handle her well," Joe said.
"I'm with Joe. He'll have himself a hard time out there," Jeri said. Sora took out his Pokéball and threw it.
"Go! Probopass!" Sora called out. Probopass emerged from inside, ready to battle.
"Come on, Venomoth!" Katie called out as she threw her Pokéball and let's out her Venomoth.
"Sora selects Probopass and Katie will use Venomoth!" The announcer announced.
"Trainers, begin!" The referee instructed.
"Probopass! Use Rock Slide!" Sora ordered. Probopass sends out a barrage of rocks to land a hit onto Venomoth.
"Dodge and use Stun Spore!" Katie ordered. Venomoth avoids the rocks and sends out Stun Spore.
"Dodge it!" Sora called out. Probopass avoids Venomoth's Stun Spore just by stepping to the side.
"Just to keep you from using Rock Slide again, I'll give you this! Venomoth! Disable!" Kaitie ordered. Venomoth's eyes glows light blue and the same light blue aura surrounds Probopass.
"Venomoth uses Disable on Probopass! Now, it won't be able to use Rock Slide until the effect wears off!" The announcer announced.
"Probopass! Use Zap Cannon!" Sora ordered. Probopass fired Zap Cannon right at the Poison Moth Pokémon.
"Dodge that!" Katie called out as Venomoth dodges Probopass's Zap Cannon. Katie then calls Venomoth back to its Pokéball.
"Katie is making a very early change of her Pokémon!" The announcer announced. Katie takes out another Pokéball and throws it.
"Go, Golduck! Now!" Katie called out as her Golduck makes its appearence.
"She's a Golduck," Kris said.
"Makes sense she would send out a Golduck to deal with Probopass since he's a Rock-type Pokémon," Roxas said.
"Pikachu," Xipak said.
"And that's bad," Ventus said.
"Pikachu," Sparky said.
"That won't stop me! Probopass! Spark!" Sora ordered. Probopass comes at Golduck with his whole body surrounded by electrical sparks.
"Hydro Pump! Blast it, Golduck!" Katie ordered. Golduck fires Hydro Pump right at the Compass Pokémon.
"A direct hit with Hydro Pump! That did some damage!" The announcer announced.
"Now, give Probopass your strongest Shadow Claw!" Katie ordered. Golduck comes at Probopass and forms a huge shadowy claw and lands a powerful swipe onto Probopass.
"Ooh! Probopass is in trouble!" The announcer announced. Probopass had been taken down.
"Probopass is unable to battle! Golduck wins!" The referee announced.
"Katie doesn't seem to mess around," Ethan said.
"No, she means business," Lyra said.
"Marill," Marill said.
"Sora's gotta get his head in the game," Roxas said.
"Pikachu!" Xipak said.
"Katie has taken the lead and it cost Sora one of his Pokémon!" The announcer announced. Sora calls back his Probopass and looks at his partner.
"Looks like it's your turn, Pikachu," Sora said.
"Pikachu!" Pikachu said, entering the battlefield.
"Just the Pokémon I was hoping for," Katie said, calling back Golduck. She takes out her third Pokéball. "You're up, Dugtrio!" She threw it and her Dugtrio makes an entrance.
"Uh-oh, not good," Ventus said.
"You're right, Ven. Dugtrio is a Ground-type Pokémon and Pikachu's Electric-type attacks won't even get a tickle out Dugtrio," Karen said.
"Pikachu," Blossom said.
"Katie wastes no time switching her Pokémon in response to Sora's Pikachu!" The announcer announced.
"Can't use Thunderbolt and Electro Ball, but instead, I'll have to use two attacks that will hit. Pikachu! Quick Attack!" Sora ordered. Pikachu ran across the battlefield
"Dugtrio! Dig!" Katie ordered. Dugtrio ducked underground to avoid Pikachu. Pikachu stops to look around.
"Keep your eyes peeled! Dugtrio will pop out from anywhere!" Sora called out.
"Okay, Dugtrio! Sand Tomb!" Katie ordered. Dugtrio makes the hole it made even bigger and bigger. Sora knew Pikachu was going to get trapped inside it.
"Get away from there! Hurry!" Sora called out. Pikachu then backflipped, much to Katie's surprise! He jumped just as high as Sora due to his abilities. Almost everyone were at awe over how high the Mouse Pokémon jumped, even the referee.
"I don't believe what I just saw, ladies and gentlemen, but Pikachu just did a backflip to avoid Dugtrio's Sand Tomb! I didn't think a Pikachu could jump that high despite being agile Pokémon!" The announcer announced.
"Huh?! That wasn't supposed to happen!" Katie exclaimed in shock. Pikachu lands on his feet.
"Okay, Pikachu, come on back!" Sora said. Pikachu returns to Sora's side.
"Pikachu returns to Sora's side, so Sora will reveal his third Pokémon!" The announcer announced. Sora took out another Pokéball and threw it.
"Okay, Armaldo! Go!" Sora called out. His Pokéball opened and Armaldo entered the battlefield.
"Sora has selected Armaldo as his third Pokémon!" The announcer announced.
"Okay, Armaldo! Use Brine!" Sora ordered.
"Brine?!" Kaitie gasped.
Armaldo fires a powerful stream of water from his mouth at the Mole Pokémon. Dugtrio exclaimed in fear before receiving the water attack and causing an explosion. Then when the smoke cleared out, Dugtrio was knocked out.
"Dugtrio is unable to battle! Armaldo wins!" The referee announced.
"And Armaldo has taken down Katie's Dugtrio with a powerful Brine! It would seem that her strategy to deal with Sora's Pikachu just gotten all wet!" The announcer announced. Katie calls her Dugtrio back.
She was disbelieved because her strategy was foiled and had planned to use Dugtrio to take Pikachu first waiting to have the upper hand in the battle.
"The battle is not over yet! Golduck, come out!" Katie called out. Her Pokéball opened and Golduck emerged back onto the battlefield.
"Katie has sent her Golduck back out to deal with Armaldo, retaking the advantage against this Rock and Bug-type!" The announcer announced. Sora calls back his Armaldo. "Sora's also making a change of Pokémon!" Sora turned to his partner.
"Okay, Pikachu. Back to action," Sora said. Pikachu nodded as he stepped back on the battlefield.
"And Pikachu's sent back out to battle!" The announcer announced.
"Alright, use Thunderbolt!" Sora ordered. Pikachu launched his Thunderbolt.
"Shadow Claw to the ground!" Katie ordered. Golduck's right claw glowed with a ghostly energy forming a claw before hitting the ground which elevated said ground like a minor tidal wave and blocked Pikachu's Thunderbolt. "Now use Disable!" Golduck's eyes glowed same as Venomoth, using Disable to disable Pikachu's Thunderbolt as Katie grinned in satisfaction. "Now, no more Thunderbolt."
"Katie is very clever, even if Dugtrio has been taken down, she used the battlefield to her favor as payback." Terra said.
"Yeah, but that won't stop Sora," Kairi said.
"Eevee," Angel said.
"Maybe not. But Thunderbolt's not the only Electric-type move Pikachu can use. Pikachu use Electro Ball!" Sora ordered.
"Pika!" Pikachu said before creating a sphere of electricity in his tail.
"Use Hydro Pump!" Katie ordered. Golduck fired Hydro Pump.
Pikachu tosses his Electro Ball which manages to overpower the Duck Pokémon's Hydro Pump attack thanks to the extra speed and zaps Golduck who fell to the ground beaten.
"Golduck is unable to battle! Pikachu wins!" The referee announced.
"And that's number two Katie had lost to Sora, leaving Katie just four more left to use!" The announcer said while Katie called back her beaten Golduck inside its Pokéball.
"You did well, Golduck. Get some rest," Katie said. She took out her next Pokéball. "If Dugtrio couldn't do it, then let's try Misdreavus!" She threw it. Her Misdreavus makes its entrance.
"Okay, Pikachu, come on back!" Sora said. Pikachu returns to Sora's side again. Sora took out his next Pokéball and threw it. "Exploud! You're going in!" His Pokéball opened and his Exploud entered the battlefield.
"And Sora has sent out an Exploud as Pokémon number 4!" The announcer announced.
"I was hoping Sora would slip up sooner or later. Normal-type moves shouldn't affect Ghost-type Pokémon," Katie said.
"Wait, he's using his Exploud? Normal-type moves don't affect Ghost-types," Xion said.
"Yeah, and Ghost-type moves don't affect Normal-types either," Wes pointed out.
"Yeah, and they both know that," Rui said.
"Exploud! Use Crunch!" Sora ordered. Exploud rushes at the Screech Pokémon with Crunch to munch on Misdreavus.
"Stay where you are," Katie said. Misdreavus didn't move an inch. Exploud then opened wide.
"Misdreavus is just sitting there, not moving an inch! It won't last long when Exploud lands its attack!" The announcer announced.
"Destiny Bond!" Katie ordered. Misdreavus's body glows dark purple as did Exploud. Exploud lands his Crunch onto Misdreavus, knocking it out. When Misdreavus went down, so did Exploud.
"Both Misdreavus and Exploud are unable to battle! This round is a draw!" The referee announced.
"Sora and Katie had both suffered a loss of Pokémon! And since Katie has already lost three of her Pokémon, there will be a fifteen minute recess as we prepare for the second round of the battle and do a field change!" The announcer announced.
"Sora just got upgraded from hard to complicated. I'm gonna have to try even harder," Katie said.
The computer selects the water field. The battlefield is one giant swimming pool.
"Ladies and gentlemen, we're back after our fifteen minute recess and for the second half, our trainers will be using a water battlefield!" The announcer announced. Sora took out Armaldo's Pokéball and threw it.
"Okay, Armaldo! Back to action!" Sora called out. His Armaldo came out to battle. The Plate Pokémon roared upon entry. Katie took out a Pokéball and threw it.
"Okay, Venomoth! You're going back in!" Katie called out. Venomoth emerged from inside to battle.
"She's using Venomoth against Armaldo?" Kris asked.
"Katie's done with playing it safe and she wants this battle to end in her favor," Wes said.
"Resume the battle!" The referee called out.
"Okay, Armaldo! Rock Blast!" Sora ordered. Armaldo summons a rock and sends it right at the Poison Moth Pokémon.
"Dodge and use Disable!" Katie ordered. Venomoth dodges Armaldo's Rock Blast and uses Disable to make Armaldo's Rock Blast useless.
"That was a very close shave for Venomoth!" The announcer announced.
"Using Disable to keep Armaldo from using Rock Blast is a good plan. Clearly she knew Rock Blast would do lots of damage if it landed a hit," Aqua said.
"Use Stun Spore!" Katie ordered. Venomoth flew at Armaldo to stun Armaldo.
"Try to get away!" Sora called out. Armaldo jumped from one platform to the other, avoiding Venomoth's Stun Spore. "Use X-Scissor!" Armaldo crosses his claws and he rushed at the Poison Moth Pokémon and landed a hit.
"Armaldo lands a hit onto Venomoth with a devastating X-Scissor!" The announcer announced.
"Crush Claw!" Sora ordered. Armaldo swings one of his claws on Venomoth, resulting in a knockout.
"Venomoth is unable to battle! Armaldo wins!" The referee announced.
"And Sora has put a damper on any chances of Katie making a comeback!" The announcer announced. Katie calls back her Venomoth and took out her next Pokéball and threw it.
"Alright, Scizor! It's your turn!" Katie called out. Her Pokéball opened and her Scizor emerged from inside to battle.
"Katie's fifth Pokémon is a Scizor! Katie's Scizor has gained the advantage as a Steel-type as its opponent is a Rock-type!" The announcer announced.
"Okay, Armaldo! Use Brine!" Sora ordered. Armaldo fired Brine right at the Pincer Pokémon.
"Double Team!" Katie ordered. Scizor creates several copies of itself, making Armaldo miss his mark completely.
"Armaldo's Brine misses Scizor on the mark!" The announcer announced.
"Metal Claw!" Katie ordered. Scizor and the copies lands a hit onto Armaldo and ends up being knocked out.
"Armaldo is unable to battle! Scizor wins!" The referee announced.
"Scizor knocks out Sora's Armaldo with a total combination of Double Team and Metal Claw! Sora has four Pokémon left to use, so which ones will Sora will use next?" The announcer announced as Sora calls Armaldo back.
"Okay, let's try you," Sora said, taking out his next Pokéball and threw it. "Absol! Go!" His Pokéball opened and Absol emerged from inside and ready to battle.
"Sora's fifth Pokémon is an Absol! Katie still has the type advantage in this bout!" The announcer announced.
"Isn't sending Absol out to deal with Scizor a bit risky?" Lisia asked.
"Yeah, it is, but granted by the current situation Sora's in right now, he's in the position to make risks," Riku said.
"Eevee," Eevee said.
"Scizor! Hidden Power!" Katie ordered. Scizor unleashed Hidden Power and sends it right at Absol.
"Detect!" Sora ordered. Absol managed to step to the side, avoiding Scizor's Hidden Power. "Use Night Slash!" Absol jumped up and his claw with a dark aura and slashed at Scizor on the mark.
"Absol gave Scizor a nasty scrape with that Night Slash! Katie will have to come up with something new!" The announcer announced.
"Scizor! Quick Attack!" Katie ordered. Scizor dashed at Absol with a Quick Attack.
"You use Quick Attack, too!" Sora ordered. Absol dashed at Scizor with his own Quick Attack and collides with Scizor. The Pincer Pokémon is overpowered.
"Both Absol and Scizor collide with a Quick Attack, but Scizor was overpowered! The announcer announced.
"Night Slash!" Sora ordered. Absol slashed at Scizor, landing in the water, making a huge splash.
"Scizor!" Katie gasped. Scizor surfaces, knocked out.
"Scizor is unable to battle! Absol wins!" The referee announced.
"And Sora takes down Katie's Scizor and leaves Katie with only one Pokémon left to use! Let's see how Katie will turn it around!" The announcer announced.
"I'm done playing around! Playtime is officially over!" Katie said, taking out her sixth and final Pokéball. "Go! Walrein!" She threw it and comes her Walrein.
"Katie's final Pokémon is a Walrein!" The announcer announced.
"Won't be able to take this Walrein down so easily, but I'll have to do it the hard way. Use Night Slash!" Sora ordered. Absol rushes at Walrein with Night Slash, but Absol's Night Slash just bounces off. Walrein's blubber was too thick to land a physical blow. "Night Slash had no effect?!"
"I raised my Walrein's defenses by a lot as you can see! Walrein! Ice Beam! Go!" Katie ordered as Walrein fires Ice Beam and it lands a brutal and chilly blow on Absol.
"Absol! Use Dark Pulse!" Sora ordered. Absol manages to fire Dark Pulse, but due to the cold of Walrein's Ice Beam, he didn't act quickly enough.
"Dive in the water!" Katie called out. Walrein dives into the water to avoid Absol's attack. Absol looks around, keeping an eye out for the Ice Break Pokémon. "Now, use Ice Beam!" Walrein fires another Ice Beam and it lands another Ice Beam on Absol's back.
"Absol gets hit from behind with a super chilly Ice Beam!" The announcer announced. Absol fell outside the battlefield, knocked out.
"Absol is unable to battle! Walrein wins!" The referee announced.
"Score one victory for Walrein whose huge body is in direct contrast to its quick maneuverability! Sora is now down to three Pokémon left in reserves!" The announcer announced. Sora calls Absol back and he looked at Pikachu.
"Alright, Pikachu. This is where you come in. You good to go?" Sora asked.
"Pika," Pikachu nodded.
"Okay, go for it!" Sora said. Pikachu stepped in the battlefield.
"And Sora sends Pikachu back out to battle! Will Pikachu be able to take down Walrein like it did with Golduck or is Walrein going to turn the tables on its opponent?" The announcer asked.
"Okay, Pikachu! Quick Attack!" Sora ordered. Pikachu dashed at the Ice Break Pokémon.
"Didn't you get that direct attack won't work on my Walrein! Take it!" Katie called out. Walrein stood and Pikachu's Quick Attack didn't hit it because of Walrein's blubber. "Now, use Mimic!" Walrein learned to use Quick Attack with its Mimic. Walrein then uses Quick Attack on the Mouse Pokémon.
"Walrein just used Quick Attack against Pikachu!" The announcer announced.
"Use Thunderbolt!" Sora ordered.
"I don't think so, Sora! Ice Beam!" Katie ordered. Walrein fired Ice Beam before Pikachu could land a hit on it. Pikachu was now frozen solid.
"Walrein freezes Pikachu with that Ice Beam! Things aren't looking good for Pikachu!" The announcer announced.
"This is for Golduck! Body Slam!" Katie ordered. Walrein jumped and lands right on Pikachu.
"Pikachu!" Sora gasped. Pikachu was knocked out from Walrein's Body Slam.
"Pikachu is unable to battle! Walrein wins!" The referee announced.
"We've seen some overwhelming power from Katie and her Walrein! How will Sora repsond with his final Pokémon?" The announcer asked as he took out his final Pokéball.
"Bottom of the barrel, this out last chance to win this battle," Sora said. "Can't afford to back away now." He throws the Pokéball. "Go! Cacturne!" Cacturne came out of his Pokéball, ready to battle.
"There you have it! Sora's final Pokémon is Cacturne! Will Cacturne be able to save Sora in this bout or will Walrein take Cacturne down like it did with Absol and Pikachu? Let's get on to the winning round to find out!" The announcer announced.
"Walrein! Ice Beam!" Katie ordered. Walrein fires Ice Beam to strike at the Scarecrow Pokémon.
"Dodge and use Needle Arm!" Sora ordered. Sceptile avoids Walrein's Ice Beam and then comes at Walrein with Needle Arm.
"Escape underwater!" Katie ordered. Walrein dives in the water to avoid Cacturne. Cacturne looks around for any signs of the Ice Break Pokémon. Sora knew Walrein could come out at any moment.
"Keep your cool, Cacturne!" Sora called out.
"Cool wouldn't be the right word I would choose especially when my Walrein uses Ice Beam! Speaking of which; Walrein! Ice Beam!" Katie ordered. Walrein fires Ice Beam right at the Scarecrow Pokémon. Cacturne turned and got hit hard by the beam of ice.
"Cacturne gets sideswiped by a tremendous Ice Beam! That has to leave Sora pretty cold, and no pun intended!" The announcer dives up and down in the water. Walrein was playing around with its opponent.
"Walrein's defenses are just too strong for a frontal attack and it's too fast when in the water," Sora said in his thoughts. Sora spotted a pice of ice in the water from Walrein's Ice Beam. "Hey, that's from Walrein's Ice Beam, isn't it? Maybe, I can use that in my favor. Just hope it works." He ordered out loud, "Cacturne! Needle Arm on top of the water!" Cacturne swings Needle Arm at the water and it splits up. Walrein goes flying out of the water.
"Wow! Cacturne's knocked Walrein right out of the water!" The announcer announced. Katie grinned smugly.
"That won't work on me. Walrein! Let's finish this with Ice Beam now!" Katie ordered. Walrein fires Ice Beam right at Cacturne.
'Dodge!" Sora called out. Cacturne avoids Ice Beam and it struck the water instead. The Ice Beam turned the whole battlefield into an ice field. Sora's plan worked. Now, Walrein can no longer dive in the water. Both Kaite and Walrein were shocked.
"What?!" Katie exclaimed.
"Gotcha!" Sora taunted.
"Folks, would you look at that?! Ice Beam has temporarily frozen the entire pool!" The announcer announced.
"No more underwater sneak attacks!" Karen said.
"Only Sora can come up with this!" Leaf said.
"Cacturne! Feint Attack!" Sora ordered. Cacturne vanished and then came right at Walrein and lands a hit onto it. Walrein hurls to the wall.
"It's another direct hit as Sora sticks with Feint Attack!" The announcer announced.
"Good job, Cacturne!" Sora praised the froest Pokémon.
"It's not over yet! Walrein! Use Quick Attack!" Katie ordered. Walrein dashed towards Cacturne with Quick Attack. Walrein lands a hit onto Cacturne.
"Let's go in it close! Cacturne! Come at Walrein with Needle Arm!" Sora ordered. Cacturne heads for Walrein with his Needle Arm. Cacturne lands a successful blow on it.
"Two can play at this game, Sora! Walrein! Body Slam! Let's go!" Katie ordered. Walrein slides back and jumps to make a Body Slam on the Scarecrow Pokémon.
"Jump and use Bullet Seed!" Sora ordered. Cacturne avoids Walrein and fires Bullet Seed in Walrein's face.
"So battling up close was a trick! Alright, Walrein! Use your Ice Beam!" Katie ordered. Walrein fires Ice Beam right at Cacturne.
"Feint Attack and then Bullet Seed!" Sora ordered. Cacturne dashes with Feint Attack and fired Bullet Seed onto Walrein.
"Ladies and gentlemen, Cacturne's incredible ability to zig when Walrein zags is beginning to wear oppositions down bit by bit!" The announcer announced. Cacturne kept going with Feint Attack and Bullet Seed again and again.
"When he pulls back, I attack. Walrein! Quick Attack!" Katie ordered. Walrein dashes with Quick Attack.
"Charge right in!" Sora called out as Cacturne ran towards his opponent.
"What's this? Sora surprises everyone by moving in for a close-range attack! What could be going through that spiky head of his?!" The announcer exclaimed.
"Jump!" Sora called out. Cacturne jumps before Walrein could land a hit. "Now, use Needle Arm!" Sora called out. Cacturne swipes at Walrein with Needle Arm.
"That Needle Arm lifts Walrein right off the ground!" The announcer announed.
"Walrein! No!" Katie gasped. Walrein falls right on the battlefield. Walrein didn't have the energy nor the strength to keep going.
"Walrein is unable to battle! Cacturne wins! The winner of the battle is Sora Ketchum of Pallet Town!" The referee announced. The crowd goes wild for Sora on his victory.
"Way to go, Cacturne! You did great!" Sora said. Cacturne beamed.
"So did you, Sora," Katie said, walking up to him. "Our battle was tougher than I thought it would be. You won fair and square. Keep on winning," Katie said. Sora smiled.
"Thanks. I'll do my best," Sora said, shaking Katie's hand.
"Sora has truly earned this one. He has overcome all sorts of troubles to pull off a beautiful victory!" The announcer announced.
Meanwhile, Brendan and Morrison were watching the battle from start to finish. They were smiling at the fierce battle they were watching.
"Knew you would do it, Sora," Brendan said.
"What can you expect from our rival?" Morrison asked.
"Well, we'll be going on soon, so let's give everybody what they came here to see," Brendan said.
"You're speaking my language!" Morrison said.
Now that Sora's battle had concluded, the battle with Brendan and Morrison is just around the corner, so both of these young Pokémon Trainers will have to give everyone an entertaining show, but which one will be making it to the top? Stick around if you wanna find out.
