Episode 335: Another New Beginning in Kanto
Before we get this chapter started, I thought I'd take this opportunity to inform you that I will be introducing Chase, Elaine, and Chase from the Pokémon Let's Go games as well. Chase will have a Pikachu and Elaine will have an Eevee, and Trace will have an Eevee. I was originally going to have Chase nickname his Pikachu Lightning, and Elaine's Eevee Felicity, but after a recent message, I was given a better idea on their nicknames, but you're gonna have to see what they are if you wanna know. Also, including the families of the Tamers and the Frontier DigiDestined in this chapter, but as a cameo. Also, Zoe and JP are the only ones in the Frontier DigiDestined that didn't have us meeting their families, so I had to make them instead. And as a remainder, this'll be an arc that will be held in Kanto, so a tournament and a Grand Festival will be held there, so Drew, Harley will be there, and so will be some other familiar faces. Anyway, enjoy.
Two weeks have passed since the Keyblade wielders have returned from the Hoenn region. With the Hoenn Pokémon League, the Hoenn Grand Festival, and the Battle Frontier behind them, and Organization XIII defeated, all seems well and quiet. There have been no signs of Vanitas, the Heartless, Nobodies, Unversed, but it did not mean all was well.
Roxas was adjusting to his new life as a Ketchum as he and Xipak are wide awake early in the morning and they step down the stairs as Mimey does some dusting around the house.
"Good morning, Roxas," Delia greeted.
"Morning, mom," Roxas greeted back.
"I trust you slept well, dear," Delia said.
"Yeah. I slept like a log. It's hard to believe how things came and went since I returned here since I rejoined Sora. It feels like it was yesterday," Roxas said.
"Well, it has been weeks since you Sora, and Karen came back home, along with Kairi, Xion, Ash, and Leaf, and your friends from Johto and Hoenn. Also, I have been hoping that you would someday return, and I would have you as a son," Delia said.
"I appreciate it, mom," Roxas said as he hugged Delia. She hugged him back. "I think I'll go and have some fresh air with Xipak. There's a spot I haven't visited for a long time."
"Take your time, honey. Just be careful that you don't have any run-in with those awful creatures," Delia said. Roxas and Xipak took their leave. Delia grinned to herself as Sora and Karen came down stairs with their Pikachu and the Pichu. "I thought he'd never step out."
"Otherwise, we'd never get the surprise ready for him," Sora said.
"Well, he deserves it after everything he's been through while in the Organization. And now that they're gone, Roxas will no longer worry about them and he can see Xion whenever he wants," Karen said.
"Speaking of Xion, isn't Kairi's mom sending her to spend time with him?" Sora asked.
"She is. She'll be busy as a Bibarel just to make sure everything is up and ready for the party," Delia said.
"Mr. Mime," Mimey said.
"Sora, would you be a dear and go see if Professor Oak has some of the arrangements ready?" Delia requested.
"Sure. I'll head next door and knock bring Kairi with me before I do," Sora said. He turned to his partner. "Come on, Pikachu. Let's go."
"Pikachu," Pikachu nodded.
With that said, Sora and Pikachu stepped out of the Ketchum house and walked next door. He was about to knock on the door when Xion and Celeste stepped out of the house and spotted Sora.
"Oh, hi, Sora. I was just stepping out to keep Roxas company," Xion said.
"Eevee," Celeste said.
"That's great, Xion. I was about to ask Kairi to accompany me to Professor Oak's lab for the party later," Sora said.
"She wanted me to bring that up to you, Sora, just in case you forgot. How would you like to come in and see her?" Xion asked.
"Sure. Kairi's probably expecting me anyway," Sora said as he and Pikachu stepped in while Xion and Celeste stepped out. Yuta spotted Sora and Pikachu with a smile.
"Ah, Sora, good of you to come. I take it that you're here to see Kairi, aren't you?" Yuta asked.
"Yeah. Is she ready?" Sora asked.
"Yeah, she's waiting for you in Seth's room," Yuta said.
Over to the kitchen, Mirei is busy in the kitchen, making a cake for Roxas's welcome home party as she hums a happy song.
Sora and Pikachu went up stairs as they approached the baby's room. Opening the door, Sora saw his girlfriend sitting in the rocking chair, holding her baby brother. Seth then babbled when he saw Sora and Pikachu. Kairi saw her boyfriend standing at the doorway and smiled.
"Sora, when did you get here?" Kairi asked.
"Just now. Wondering if you're all set for checking on the party's preparations yet," Sora said.
"I've been ready for a while. I was just waiting for you," Kairi said.
"Alright," Sora said as he set his attention to Seth. "Hey there, little guy. I'm gonna borrow Kairi for a bit, so is that okay with you?" Seth laughed as he reached for Sora's hair, wanting to pull it. Sora pulls himself back. "Oh, close but no bottle." Sora chuckled as he gently pushed his tummy. "Beep!" Seth laughed as the couple and their partners went downstairs. Kairi hands Seth over to her father. She gave Seth a kiss on the forehead.
"I'll see you later, Seth. Be a good boy for your big sister, okay?" Kairi asked.
"Don't worry, sweetie. Seth is always a good kid. Isn't that right, sonny?" Yuta asked as Seth did some baby talk. Yuta just laughed. "I'll take that as a yes."
"Well, we should be off. Ash and the others are probably already waiting for us," Sora said.
With that said, Sora, Kairi, Pikachu, and Angel stepped out of Kairi's house and started to make their way right for Professor Oak's lab. And that's when three kids saw them.
One is a young boy with both black hair and eyes, he wears a red and white baseball cap with a red Pokéball logo on it. He also wears a red and white jacket with a black undershirt, blue shorts, and black and yellow sneakers with blue shoe laces.
Another is a skinny and short young girl with fair skin, brown hair tied into a ponytail, and brown eyes. She wears a red and white baseball cap with a Pokéball logo on it, a black and white t-shirt, blue-green shorts with a red waistband and bow, and orange and white sneakers with yellow shoe laces
The third kid is a brown-haired and -eyed boy who carries a white backpack with red detailing. He wears a dark gray, short-sleeved jumper shirt with a black front neck drop, green leggings with black details that have white arrows down each side, black socks and red, black, and white sneakers with white laces.
"Hey! Sora!" The brown-haired boy shouted, catching Sora and Kairi's attention.
"Trace, you shouldn't have ruined their moment like that!" The girl scolded.
"What? I was only saying hi to them, Elaine," Trace said.
"Chase, help me out here," Elaine said.
"Uh, I don't think I'm an expert in that department," Chase said.
"Hey, guys," Sora said.
"Nice seeing you again," Kairi said.
"So what are you two lovebirds up to?" Elaine asked in a playful manner.
"Well, since you brought it up, Kairi and I were just heading over to Professor Oak's lab to check on the party preparations this afternoon," Sora said.
"You mean for your new adoptive brother of yours, Sora?" Chase asked. Sora nodded to confirm his question.
"You three are coming over, aren't you?" Sora asked.
"You kidding? Of course we are. The three of us wouldn't miss this for all the tea in Galar," Trace said.
"After all, we're doing it for you, Karen, Leaf, and Ash," Elaine said.
"So we would like to join up with you, because we don't get to hang out as much since we were little kids," Chase said.
"Well, we had a lot on our plates since we became Pokémon Trainers," Sora said.
"Well, we have been traveling around Kanto, Johto, and Hoenn," Kairi said.
"Yeah, and you also took down Team Rocket with Ash, Leaf, that silver-haired kid, the blonde girl, and your three friends from Johto, and you won the Hoenn Pokémon League and Grand Festival. It was very epic!" Trace exclaimed.
"Oh, we didn't do anything special. We only did our best," Kairi said.
"Yeah, what she said," Sora said. "Anyhoo, we better head for Professor Oak's lab."
"Right," Kairi, Chase, Elaine, and Trace agreed as they started to make their way to Professor Oak's lab.
If you're wondering how Sora knows Chase, Elaine, and Trace so well, this explanation will shed some light on the subject. You see, Sora, Karen, Ash, Leaf, Tom, and Gary go way back in their childhood. It turns out that Chase, Elaine, and Trace went to kindergarten with them as little kids. They hung out with Sora and the others from time to time. But they didn't spend too much time with Sora, Ash, Leaf, and Gary since they became Pokémon Trainers. Anyway, here's a flashback on when they met Kairi.

It was right after they came back from Viridian City. Sora and Kairi were out on a stroll when Chase, Elaine, and Trace saw them.
"Sora! Hey, Sora!" Chase said, running up to the couple. They stopped when Chase and Elaine went up to them, too. "It's been forever since we've seen you!"
"It's only been several months, Trace," Sora said.
"It felt like years to us," Trace said.
"One month feels like one year to us," Chase said, noticing Kairi. "So who's she?"
"Are these three your friends?" Kairi asked.
"They are. Kairi, meet Chase, Elaine, and Trace. Chase, Elaine, Trace, this is Kairi," Sora introduced.
"It's nice to finally meet you," Kairi said.
"Wow, so this is the girl who was rumored to travel with Sora," Elaine said with a sly grin on her face.
"Karen definitely wasn't lying," Chase said.
"You dog! She's gorgeous!" Trace said. Kairi blushed at the compliment.
"Thanks," Kairi said.
"Kairi is my girlfriend," Sora said.
"I thought she was since she's been traveling with you. Kairi is such a lucky girl to have someone like you for a boyfriend," Elaine said.
"Since you're here, you think we can hang out with each other for a little while? For old time's sake," Chase said.
"Sure," Sora said, smiling. "I want Kairi to get to know you better anyway."
"And so do I," Kairi said.
Not long after, the couple meets up with Ash and Leaf. Kairi hears some stories about Sora's childhood from her boyfriend's friends.

We make it back to the present as they see Ethan, Kris, Lyra, Brendan, and May present at the lab.
"It's about time you got here. We were almost starting to think you weren't gonna show up," Brendan said.
"Where are Ash and Leaf?" Sora asked.
"They're with Professor Oak," Kris said.
"Hey, you three. Nice to see you again," Lyra said.
"Marill," Marill said.
"Likewise," Chase said.
"So, what about Roxas?" May asked.
"Xion is keeping company now. She should keep him distracted until we get everything ready," Kairi said.
"Good. He's going to be very surprised," Ethan said.
"Anybody we know coming?" Sora asked.
"Tai, Davis, and their families are coming over, along with their families. The same with Takato, Takuya, and Yugi," Ethan said.
"What about Max, Rex, and Zoe?" Sora asked.
"They won't be able to make it, but they sent a card," Ethan said, holding a card. It was a card with a triceratops on the side. Sora takes it in his hand.
Outside, Ash, Leaf, Wes, Rui, Michael, and Rei helped Professor Oak, Tracey, and Daisy with the tables. Ash and Leaf noticed how close Tracey and Daisy have been close to one another since the last time they saw them.
"Since when have Daisy and Tracey been dating?" Ash asked.
"Kairi was the one who introduced them when we came back. Also, they've been dating ever since we left for the Hoenn region. She has been coming by, bringing them cookies and tea," Leaf said.
"They do look like a great couple, don't they?" Ash asked.
"They do," Leaf said.
A little later, the DigiDestined teams and their families have shown up to Professor Oak's lab. Yuuko and Susumu had brought their Skitty Miko with them. Hiroaki has brought his Electabuzz with him as Nancy has brought her Ninetales. Hiroaki's Electabuzz is a bit on the chubby side.
Toshiko has brought a Kangaskhan with her, and alongside her is her husband, Haruhiko Takenouchi. He is a man with brown hair and eyebrows. He wore a dark green jacket and a black shirt, and black shoes. Kesuke and Satoe came over with their Vileplume and some pies. Masami and Kae has come with a Caterpie resting on Kae's shoulder.
Dr. Junya Kido along with Hitomi Kido arrived with their Slowking beside them.
The Inoue family have arrived with a Slowbro, a Noctowl, a Swellow, and a Fearow beside them. Fumiko and Chikara Hida have brought a Psyduck and a Kantonian Farfetch'd with them. Chikara's Farfetch'd is old and well-seasoned.
Takashi and Megumi Motomiya have arrived with their Volbeat and Illumise as Jun has brought a female Raichu with her.
Masafumi and Asako Ichijouji have arrived along with their Ralts.
Takato's family arrived along with a little girl and a little girl. Takato's mom is a woman with shoulder length brown hair and brown eyes. She wore a yellow sweater over a green blouse, blue jeans, and sandals. Takato's father is a man with light tan skin, wearing a viridian shirt and blue jeans and white shoes. Takato's sister is a little girl with lightly tanned skin, brown eyes, and shoulder-length brown hair, which is worn in pigtails with red hair ties. She wears a pink shirt with long sleeves under a wine-colored dress, and yellow socks. When outside, she wears pink sneakers with white soles. She's Ai Matsuki. Takato's brother is a little boy with light skin, brown eyes, and brown spiky hair. He wears a white shirt with long sleeves under a blue jumpsuit with a red pocket on each side, and green socks. When outside, he wears green sneakers with white soles. He's Mako Matsuki. Takato explained to Sora and the others that they have a Dahsbun as well, but it didn't like leaving the bakery for some reason.
Henry's family arrived along with Takato's family, but with them is a Sudowoodo, a Nidorino, and a Nidorina. Henry's father, January Wong has graying-black hair and wore a pair of square-frame glasses and a business suit. Henry's mother, Mayumi Wong, wore a pink shirt and a brown overall dress. She has a pair of glasses as well. Henry's brother, Rinchei Wong has black hair wore a dark green buttoned shirt and brownish-green pants with white shoes. Henry's sister, Jarrin Wong has brown hair and wore an olive yellow jacket over a turquoise shirt and dark blue skirt, white socks, and white shoes.
Rika's mother, Rumiko Nanaka and grandmother, Seko Hata arrived with a Beautifly and a Milotic. Rika's mother has blonde hair and wore a maroon shirt and an whitish-cream color long skirt as Rika's grandmother has graying-brown hair and wore a yellow shirt with a black patch at the top, a maroon skirt, and black shoes.
Jeri's father, step-mother, and younger brother came and they had a Machoke, a Jynx, and a Tyrogue with them. Jeri's father Tadashi Katou has brown hair and brown eyes. He wore a yellow shirt, brown pants, and brown shoes. Jeri's step-mother, Shizue Katou has brown hair and brown eyes. She wore a pink over-shirt and blue jeans along with white socks and brown shoes. She has a small mole on the right side of her chin. Jeri's younger half-brother, Masahiro Katou has brown hair and eyes. He wore a red shirt, blue shorts, white socks, and blue shoes.
Kazu's parents came with a Sneasel and an Altaria. Kazu's father, Hirofumi Shioda strongly resembles Kazu, but he has a mustache and a pair of glasses. He wore a green sweater over a yellow shirt, blue jeans, and brown shoes. Kazu's mother, Takako Shioda has sandy blonde hair and light tan skin. She wore a white hat, a black vest, a white shirt, a light red skirt, and long brown boots.
Kenta's parents has a Graveler and a Flareon with them. Kenta's father, Shiyunsuke Kitagawa resembled Kenta greatly, especially when it came to the glasses. He wore a dark blue turtleneck and a brown jacket, blue pants, and black shoes. Kenta's mother, Akemi Kitagawa is slightly chubby, but she wore a dark pink vest over a white shirt, white pants, and brown shoes.
Takuya, Koji, JP, Zoe, Tommy, and Koichi brought their families over as well. They were filled in about the situation that Sora and the other Trainers go through, and they understood.
Takuya's father, Hiroaki Kanbara wore a black shirt and brownish-tan pants, and brown shoes. Takuya's mother, Yuriko Kanbara wore a light green shirt and blue jeans. She wore red shoes. Takuya's younger brother, Shinya Kanbara wore an orange shirt, white shorts, and blue sneakers.
Tommy's father and older brother resembled Tommy, but Tommy's father, Kishō wore a blue buttoned shirt and glasses, olive pants, and a brown belt with black shoes. Tommy's older brother, Yukata Himi wore a black shirt with purple shirt sleeves with gray long sleeves. Tommy's mother, Naru Himi has brown hair. She wore a light green over-shirt, purple shirt, lime green skirt and white heels.
Koji and Koichi's father, Katsuyuki Minamoto has brown hair. He wore a pair of glasses, a yellow shirt, white pants, and brown shoes. mother, Tomoko Kimura has black hair tied in a ponytail. She wore a pink shirt and a white skirt, and white sneakers. Koji's step-mother wore a pair of glasses, Satomi Minamoto. She has short brown hair. She wore a pink shirt, white pants, and white shoes.
Zoe's mother greatly Zoe, except she has her blonde hair cut short. She wore a magenta dress and wore blue heels. Her name would be Mizuho Orimoto. Zoe's father has short brown hair and he wore a white shirt, blue pants, and brown shoes. His name would be Yuzuru Orimoto.
JP's father strongly resembled JP, but he was slightly buffed. He wore a green shirt, black pants, and a pair of sandals. His name would be Judai Shibayama. JP's mother is slightly chubby, but she has brown hair tied in a bun. She wore a blue shirt, green pants, and blue shoes. Her name would be Konaka Shibayama.
Ryo and Amy didn't bring their families with them, due to their busy schedules, but Sora understood.
"Good of you to come," Sora said.
"We wouldn't miss this for anything, Ketchum," Tai said.
"After all, Roxas is our friend," Kari said.
"I know he feels the same way," Sora said.
"Pikachu," Pikachu said.
"Anyway, feel free and enjoy yourselves," Sora said.
With that said, the DigiDestined and their families started to socialize and mingle with one another. They may be on different teams, but the parents were hitting it off better than any of them could ever thought of.
Not long after the DigiDestined and their families came, Yugi, Téa, Joey, Tristan, Bakura, Mai, Duke, and Serenity have arrived in the festivities. As did Ben and most of his apprentices, and of course, Ventus, Terra, and Aqua, along with their families, and the Hales.
Once everyone has arrived, the party was about to begin.
"Everyone, may I have your attention?" Delia called out, getting everyone's attention. "As you know, I have adopted Roxas as my legal son as Yuta and Mirei have adopted Xion as their legal daughter. So I wanted to say I am happy that you have come to celebrate our family," Delia said. Everyone all applauded for their families, and Danny's staff.
The party went on as Roxas was being welcomed by everyone. Cattleya embraced Roxas, welcoming her nephew despite he has a strong resemblance to her son. Big Earl gave Roxas a huge bear hug.
At some point at the party, Roxas and Xipak sat by themselves and ate some cake.
"It's quite a party, isn't it, Xipak?" Roxas asked.
"Pikachu," Xipak said.
"I agree, it is," Roxas said. He looked up to the sky and the image of Axel briefly appeared and he was smiling. "Axel. None of this would have happened without you. You made all of this possible. I will never forget what you did for me. Thank you for everything."
"He would say you're welcome," Sora said. Roxas turned to see him. "Having fun?"
"A blast. Shouldn't you spend some time with Kairi?" Roxas asked.
"She's having some sisterly time with Xion. In fact, they're already with the babies right now," Sora said. They turn to see their significant others with Seth and Yuki. May cooed over how adorable Yuki is.
"I can tell Xion is glad to have Seth back in her life again," Roxas said.
"Just like mom's glad to have you back in ours," Sora said. He then smiled. "And it was thanks to Axel that we have you back. I mean, he protected you when you were with Organization XIII, so I gotta be grateful for that. I wish I thanked him when I had the chance."
"I think mom already did that. And so did Karen. As a Nobody, I have been told that I didn't have a heart or any feelings, but I seem to have them now. My body might be a replica body, but it's still my body, and my heart now," Roxas said.
"Unlike the Elemental Bosses, you and Xion are the real deals. Adopted or not, I'm always be your real brother, and Karen will be your real sister," Sora said.
"I wouldn't have it any other way," Roxas said.
"There you are, you boys," Delia said to them from behind. They turned to see their mother. "Come on, you two, we're about to have our picture taken."
"Coming!" Sora and Roxas said in unison. They looked at each other and laughed. Sora and Roxas joined their mother and sister as Danny was about to take the picture. Roxas stood between Sora and Karen as Delia stood behind all three of them. Danny shoots the picture, showing the happy family.
Several pictures were taken, featuring Roxas. There was one that he held Yuki on his lap as Xion sat with Seth on hers. There was one that he and Roxas just did a flexing pose as there was another with Big Earl holding Sora and Roxas in his arms as Terra and Aqua just laughed laughed along with their fathers. Many more were taken. The Pokémon even had some fun in the festivities.
The party and the day ended as Roxas was now settling in his bedroom and Xipak is right beside him.
"It's been quite a day, Xipak. I'm glad that I got to share with everyone. That of course includes you, buddy," Roxas said.
"Pikachu," Xipak said.
"Well, I am already wondering what the rest of my life will bring. I guess I'll have to find out, won't I?" Roxas asked.
"Pikachu," Xipak said.
"Goodnight, Xipak," Roxas said.
"Pika," Xipak said.
Both Roxas and Xipak fell asleep and drifted off to happy dreams.
A few days have passed since Roxas's welcome party, and things have been quiet for the most part. Mimey was sweeping the porch as Delia was tending to her garden. Sora, Roxas, Karen, Pikachu, Xipak, and Blossom stepped out of the house to head for Professor Oak's lab. Afterwards, Wes, Rui, and Michael returned to the Orre region, but they said they'll meet up with them again sometime and Riku was heading to Saffron City with Naminé.
"Morning, you three. Where are you off to?" Delia asked.
"Professor Oak called us and he asked us to come over to the lab, because he said he wanted to talk to us about something," Sora said.
"We'll probably be there for a while," Karen said.
"Alright. I'll see you later," Delia said.
With that said, Sora, Roxas, Karen, and the three Pikachu walked down the road. Kairi, Xion, and their Eevee stepped out of their house and went off to join them. They've been called over as well.
They arrived at Professor Oak's lab and spotted Chase, Elaine, and Trace in the lab.
"Hey, guys," Chase greeted.
"Chase, Elaine, Trace, I had a feeling you three would become Trainers someday," Sora said.
"Yeah, we decided that it was finally time we had gotten started on our own journey," Elaine said.
"So we asked Professor Oak to call you over because we wanted you to share this moment with us," Chase said.
Just then, Ash, Leaf, Ethan, Kris, Lyra, Brendan, May, and Marill arrived at the same time.
"We're here," Leaf said.
"Perfect timing," Professor Oak said as he and Tracey stepped in. "This is a golden opportunity for these three are beginning their journey as Pokémon Trainers."
"I'll say. It really takes me back," Ash said.
"Chase, Trace, Elaine, the Pokémon of your choice are waiting for you to select one for each one of you so-" Professor Oak was cut off by Chase.
"Actually, professor the three of us have been talking and we decided that it would be better if the three of us each would go and catch our first Pokémon, so we would need some Pokéballs to catch one," Chase said. Everyone were surprised by what they were asking.
"You mean you're actually going to go and catch your own Pokémon instead of choosing a Squirtle, Bulbasaur, or Charmander?" Kairi asked.
"Yeah," Chase answered.
"Is there a special reason behind it?" Tracey asked.
"Well, it's just, most Pokémon Trainers who come from Pallet Town often choose Charmander, Squirtle, and Bulbasaur as their first, but since Sora has Pikachu as his first Pokémon instead, we thought we'd do the same thing," Elaine said.
"When did you decide to do that?" May asked.
"It was after Sora won the Indigo Plateau Pokémon League. So we were inspired to do the same thing," Trace said.
"I'm glad that I inspired you without really trying to," Sora said.
"But it won't be easy to catch your own Pokémon without a Pokémon to help weaken it first in battle," Ethan pointed out.
"That makes it even more fun," Trace said.
"I truly respect your decision. I'll give you each some Pokéballs and some Razz Berries," Professor Oak said, handing Chase, Elaine, and Trace some Pokéballs and Razz Berries.
"Cool, I was starting to get hungry anyway," Trace said.
"Trace, the berries aren't for us to eat, they're for the Pokémon," Elaine corrected Trace.
"Indeed. Razz Berries shall make it easier for you to capture the wild Pokémon. Wild Pokémon are not just going to allow you to capture them," Professor Oak said.
"Glad you told us, because I almost made a mistake," Trace said.
"We can help them out with that," Sora said.
"Yeah, and maybe they'll get the hang of it," Kairi said.
"Of course," Professor Oak said. "Once Chase, Trace, and Elaine have been successful, bring them back to the lab just so I could give them their other tools."
With that said, Sora, Kairi, Chase, Elaine, Trace, Pikachu, and Angel stepped outside of Pallet Town just so they could each catch a Pokémon.
"Sora, since your first Pokémon is Pikachu, what was the first Pokémon you've caught?" Chase asked.
"It was a Pidgey. And you're just in luck because Pidgey are very common in this area. And so are Rattata," Sora said.
"That's as good a start as any," Elaine said.
"Yeah, I didn't exactly succeed on my first try," Sora said.
"What do you mean, Sora?" Chase asked.
"Well, when I was starting out, Pikachu wouldn't do a thing I tell him, and he just had an attitude problem. After that I can easily catch a Pokémon while it was eating or sneaking up behind it. I landed my first successful catch with a different Pidgey," Sora said.
"How did you catch your Pidgey, Sora?" Elaine asked.
"I did it by hiding in the tall grass. And it was a good thing I'm good at hiding," Sora said.
"I'll say you are. You were the champ at hide and seek," Trace said.
A rustling in the grass is heard.
"Shh. I hear something," Kairi whispered.
Everyone quieted down and listened. They saw a male Pikachu and a female Eevee running.
"Pikachu," Chase said.
"Eevee," Elaine said.
"Looks like we get to have our first catch," Chase said.
"Sure does," Elaine said.
They hid in the tall grass, not wanting their targets to see them. Remembering the Razz Berries he, Elaine, and Trace received from Professor Oak, Chase took a Razz Berry out and he carefully threw it close to the wild Pikachu. Sniffing the Razz Berry, the wild Pikachu starts eating it.
Elaine quietly does the same thing and threw the berry close enough to the wild Eevee. She begins to eat the berry.
While the wild Pikachu and Eevee were eating the berries, Chase and Elaine threw the Pokéballs at the wild Pikachu and Eevee. They flow inside the Pokéballs and they wobble around and around. Stars swirls around the Pokéballs to confirm the catch.
"We did it!" Chase and Elaine exclaimed as they picked up the Pokéballs.
"We did it on our first try," Chase said.
"We sure did," Elaine agreed.
"Not bad, you two," Sora said.
"Nice job," Kairi said.
"Thanks, Sora and Kairi," Elaine said, smiling.
"I was worried that we wouldn't pull it off right away," Chase said.
"That was awesome, but now, it's my turn," Chase said, looking around. And then, a male Eevee came out of the tall grass. "An Eevee!"
"Shh. You'll scare him away," Kairi said.
"Sorry," Trace said.
"Just do what Chase and Elaine did, and you'll have it done," Sora said. Trace nodded and he snuck in the tall grass. Remembering the Razz Berry, he took it out and he threw it close to the Eevee. The wild Eevee spotted the berry and started to eat it. Trace took out a Pokéball and threw it. Like the Pikachu and Eevee Chase and Elaine caught, the Eevee flows inside and the Pokéball wobbles around and around. Stars swirls around the Pokéball to confirm the catch.
"Alright! I caught myself an Eevee!" Trace cheered.
"Nice one!" Sora said.
"Great job," Kairi said.
"Thanks," Trace said.
"Now, let's head back to Professor Oak's lab and show him," Chase said.
"Yeah, he was going to give us something else," Trace said.
They went back to Professor Oak's lab and showed him the Pokémon they've caught for him.
"Ah, two Eevee and a Pikachu. Sounds like you've found yourselves promising partners," Professor Oak said.
"That's kind of you, professor," Elaine said.
"So what was it that you wanted to give us?" Trace asked.
"Ah, yes. I wanted to give you the Pokémon Box. You see, you can carry six Pokémon at a time, so when you've exceeded your limit, you can choose to keep the Pokémon you have caught in exchange for one on your team or you can have it sent over to the lab. The second thing is I will download the Pokédex app onto your Rotom Phones," Professor Oak said.
"A Pokédex app?" Trace asked.
"Yes. The Pokédex can provide you with the information on any Pokémon you've come across. I only need your Rotom Phones, please," Professor Oak requested. Chase, Elaine, and Trace took out their Rotom Phones and he downloaded the Pokédex app on each one of their phones. "There. The Pokédex has been installed."
"Cool. Let's test it out," Chase said, using his Rotom Phone to scan his Pikachu.

"I think I'll avoid that," Chase said.
"Let's test it out on you," Elaine said, using her Rotom Phone to scan her Eevee.

It can evolve into a variety of forms. Eevee's genes are the key to solving the mysteries of Pokémon evolution.
"Wow, that's amazing," Elaine said.
"Pikachu," Chase's Pikachu said. Chase placed his hand on his chin as Elaine pets her Eevee. Chase looked at his Pikachu and he gave it some thought.
"Hm, I think I'll call you Volt," Chase said.
"Pika," the Pikachu said, liking the nickname.
"Volt?" Sora asked.
"You're calling your Pikachu 'Volt'?" Ash asked.
"Yeah. It sounded good since Pikachu is an Electric-type Pokémon," Chase said.
"I think it's a good nickname," Kris said.
"What about you, Elaine? Are you going to give your Eevee a nickname?" Lyra asked.
"I was thinking of Maple, since it sounds cute," Elaine said.
"Maple, huh? That sounds adorable," May said.
"Eevee," Elaine's Eevee said.
"I think Maple agrees," Elaine said.
"Okay, Trace, are you going to give your Eevee a nickname?" Brendan asked.
"No. I think I'll just keep it as he is," Trace said.
"Eevee," Trace's Eevee said.
"Of course, it's your choice," Sora said.
"I agree. By the way, Sora, there is something I think you and your friends should all know," Professor Oak said.
"What is it, professor?" Sora asked.
"Well, I have just received word that the Pokémon Stadium Cup is about to begin very soon," Professor Oak said.
"The Pokémon Stadium Cup?" May asked.
"Hey, I heard of that. It's a tournament that's very similar to the Pokémon League, but there are no requirements for Gym Badges," Ethan said.
"Yes, Ethan, you are correct. Like the Pokémon League tournaments in certain regions, it has its own set of rules. Any Trainer is welcome to participate when they choose to. The Pokémon Stadium Cup will require that you will be traveling all over the Kanto region and battle in stadiums in different towns and cities. You'll have to find out what the rules are once you've registered," Professor Oak said.
"Looks like we've got us another adventure coming up," Sora said.
"Pikachu," Pikachu agreed.
"But there's more. I have also been given word that there are going to be Pokémon Contests held here in the Kanto region, too," Professor Oak said.
"Pokémon Contests? Really?" May asked.
"Yes. In fact, the rules for Kanto's Pokémon Contests are different from those of Hoenn's," Professor Oak said.
"Different how?" May asked.
"I think I'll answer that," Karen said. "Like in the Hoenn Pokémon Contests, you can choose one Pokémon to participate in the Contest, but you choose to use another Pokémon for the Contest Battles."
"I guess the Contest rules are different in each region," May said.
"I guess they are," Kris said.
"May, Kairi, are you going to go for the Kanto Contests?" Kris asked.
"Come to think of it, I think I am," May said.
"It should be loads of fun, so why not?" Kairi asked.
"I'll take Kairi's answer for a yes," Professor Oak said.
"We'll have to make some preparations if we're going to set off," Ash said.
"In the meantime, you three could use this time to get acquainted with your new partners," Karen said.
"We plan on it," Chase said, looking at Volt.
"Pikachu," Volt said.
"Professor, I think I want to be a Pokémon Trainer, too," Roxas requested.
"You would?" Professor Oak asked.
"Yeah. I got this Rotom Phone as a gift, and I was wondering if I could have a Pokédex app installed on mine," Roxas requested, holding out his red Rotom Phone.
"Me too, professor," Xion requested, taking out her blue Rotom Phone. Professor Oak chuckled.
"Of course. May I assume that Xipak and Celeste are your partners?" Professor Oak asked.
"Yes," Xion said.
"Delia did say it was inevitable, so I cannot refuse. I will need your phones, please," Professor Oak requested. Roxas and Xion handed their Rotom Phones to the professor and he installed the Pokédex app onto their phones. "There. And I will give you your own Pokéballs and your Pokémon Box. Like I explained to Chase, Trace, and Elaine, the Pokédex can provide you with the information on the Pokémon you have encountered if you want some information. Second, the Pokéballs are designed to contain the Pokémon inside. And lastly, the Pokémon Box will inform you that you have reached your limit and you will have to exchange your Pokémon if you choose to."
Later, Sora, Kairi, Roxas, Xion, Ash, Leaf, Ethan, Kris, Lyra, Brendan, May, Chase, Elaine, Trace, Pikachu, Angel, Xipak, Celeste, Marill, Volt, and Maple were standing in front of Delia, Yuta, Mirei, Seth, Rei, Mimey, and the Pichu as they were preparing to leave.
Sora is bringing Pidgeot, Blastoise, Dragonite, Gyarados, Gengar, Sudowoodo, Quagsire, Meganium, Torkoal, Crobat, and Absol with him.
Kairi is bringing Togetic, Raichu, Ampharos, Quilava, Chikorita, Vaporeon, Jolteon, Flareon, Leafeon, Glaceon, and Sylveon with her.
"So you'll be going for the Pokémon Contests again, Kairi?" Yuta asked.
"Yeah, dad. It would be fun to be a part of it again," Kairi said.
"And we could use another adventure even after coming home from Hoenn," Leaf said.
"I don't doubt it. I'll meet up with you when I can. Just be careful out there," Rei said.
"We will," the group all said.
"I think you can register for the Pokémon Stadium Cup in Viridian City," Yuta said.
"So it works out for you," Delia said.
"Well, let's get started on this journey. Our first stop will be Viridian City," Sora said.
"Yeah!" The group all said in unison.
"While we're at it, we could catch some wild Pokémon, too," Trace said.
"Yeah, the more Pokémon, the better," Roxas agreed.
"Pikachu," Xipak said.
With that said, the group bid farewell to Sora and Kairi's families and to Rei as they took off for their next adventure.
Who knows what sort of adventures they'll have along the way? What battles could be waiting in the Pokémon Stadium Cup and what sort of Pokémon Contests could the Kanto region be offering?
Meanwhile, over in Viridian City, there is some strange activity in a local warehouse. They're a bunch of Meltan. Somehow, they've made it to Kanto, but I have a feeling our friends will have an encounter with these little metal-eaters very soon.
