Third person view
In Metropolis, the bustling city moves the same as always, choppers can be heard flying over the high-rise buildings, cars move down the road through the busy traffic and people walk down the sidewalks.
A woman who was walking her dog stops when the ground starts shaking under her feet. Suddenly the ground splits open before her and her dog barks and runs away as a large green plant rises up and grows larger.
Panic is quick to ensue in the area, people run, whether it's from buildings or their cars as the plant extends as high as the buildings and as wide as the road at its base.
Suddenly three red spikes come out, opening to form gigantic flowers that quickly grab a police car and throw it into a building. Another follows quickly. The third flower goes after the woman still at its base but misses and slams into the concrete as she runs away. It pulls harshly on the concrete, but instead of it pulling up, the plant falls down.
The plant is so massive that it stretches almost a full city block, and as the view gets further away, the source of the insight is shown to be a magic mirror.
"Lovely. Our test is a complete success" a woman's voice says smoothly.
"We may proceed as planned" She added.
"Agreed" an all too familiar male voice says through his Latvian accent.
"But we've operated in shadow for too long" Count Vertigo, dressed in his regal apparel steps out of the shadows.
"Time for the InJustice League to step into the light" he added.
Beside Vertigo are six more people, some more recognizable than others.
"Admit it, you can't turn away" the Joker said. He was dressed in his pressed deep purple suit, a green striped top with a pale orange collar, and a bright purple tie. He then starts his familiar, terrifying laugh.
Behind his left shoulder is a zombie pilot: this is Atomic Skull. His uniform a faded green and his helmet having bright yellow accents.
Next is a white gorilla: Ultra Humanite. He had a similar set up to Mallah. With him is Poison Ivy, her skin almost as pale as the Joker's, with vines crawling up her arms and shoulders
On her right is a man with pointed ears, the same lightning bolt as Captain Marvel on his black suit, and a gold tie-off sash on his waist- Black Adam.
Last member is the highest and was standing almost directly behind the Gorilla is a man with pointed dark hair, white pale skin, a red suit and an ornate black cape, Wotan.
Kaldur and Robin fight hand-to-hand on the training deck, both of them are in casual wear rather than their costumes, but that doesn't stop them from working hard. Off to the side DJ was punching a bag in a white tank top and shorts.
Robin comes in with a kick that was aimed at Kaldur's shoulder height. The older male dodges, gaining 8pts in comparison to Robin's 4pts for his attack.
The Boy Wonder is quick to turn as soon as he touches the ground, getting close to Kaldur and going in for a right punch that Kaldur blocks. Both of them gain 4pts for that, but Kaldur already had his right hand raised and goes for a cross that Robin ducks under, and he follows up with another, but Robin is quick into a back-handspring.
Kaldur gains 14pts for his combo while Robin 10pts for his dodge and it's the second his hands touch the ground.
Kaldur is quick to follow him, while both Zatara and Captain Marvel watch, the lightning man eating a bar. Both men watch with smiles.
As Kaldur gets in close he attempts a left-handed punch, that Robin blocks, and he attempts to palm-heel strike, but Kaldur does his own back-handspring to make distance.
Robin gains 8pts for his block, while Kaldur gains 9pts for his combo. Robin finishes his combination with a front kick to get himself 5pts more and move closer to Kaldur.
As M'gann, Conner, and Wolf approach the area, the floor light turns off and both relax, agreeing to a tie
As the Kryptonion and the Martian walked past them with the large canine, both Robin and Kaldur looked at them with curious expressions.
"You know they're a couple right?" Robin asked quietly.
"I believe I knew before they knew" he said with a smile. The two then seen Artemis and Wally coming from the same direction M'gann and Conner had come from.
"Do we tell them?" Robin then asked.
"It is not our place" Kaldur said strongly as the two other members in question came up closer.
"So if Zatara is our babysitter of the week, why's he still here?" Wally asked gesturing to Captain Marvel who was still standing beside Zatara eating a candy bar.
"And why is he eating my snacks" he added. DJ then came up un-wrapping the white bandages from his hands.
"I like him" he said panting.
"That's because he's your 'number 1 fan' " Artemis said with a smirk as DJ smirked as well. Suddenly the Zeta-tube started up.
Recognize: Batman; 0-2
In stepped the Dark Knight with his normal stern look on his face.
"Computer, national news" he said not even sparing the team any looks as he walked towards the computer.
Immediately a hologram popped up and showed Cat Grant in Metropolis.
"The initial attack was short-lived, but Metropolis was only granted a short reprieve" the TV shows the massive plant once again standing upright and attacking, a scraper already caught, then shattering before them.
"And despite the intervention of Superman and the Justice League, there seems to be no end in sight" The frame swaps to the top of the building, where two people are trapped. Just before the building collapses, Superman picks them up as Hawkgirl flies onto the screen.
The camera follows her as she swings her mace at the plant and a Green Lantern then cuts it off as she flies to meet him. The two head towards the spire-like plant as Hawkman follows behind them, hacking another vine on his way.
"Should we get out there?" Robin asked eagerly. Batman turned to him.
"No, the Justice League will soon have the situation under control" Batman informs, giving no room to argue.
"That's not why I'm here. According to your Intel, Sportsmaster supplied the Blockbuster formula from Cadmus to Kobra" he said as the team took over the thought.
"Who combined it with Bane's Venom to create Kobra-Venom" Wally says.
"Which the Brain used to create his animal army" Robin added.
"And upgrade Wolf" Conner said with a smile, petting Wolf under his chin.
"The Brain also used inhibitor collars like the ones at Belle Reve penitentiary" M'gann remembers. Artemis then looked at the Leaguer with worried look.
"Batman, is it possible that plant thingy's on Kobra-Venom, too?" she questioned.
"I had Green Lantern run a spot analysis" the Dark Knight said as a another hologram popped up. This one showed the Kobra-Venom Variant.
"Divine cellulose does contain trace amounts of a Kobra-Venom variant" he said.
"These cannot be coincidences. Unrelated criminals are cooperating with one another worldwide" Kaldur said.
"Almost like an Anti-Justice League" DJ said grimly. Batman was right when he first created the team, the bad guys are getting smarter.
Robin brought up his own holographic keyboard and began typing away.
"Exactly. It's now clear our enemies have formed some kind of secret society of SuperVillains. The attack on Metropolis is only the beginning" Batman said.
"You got that right" Robin agrees, still typing away as other pictures join the large one of Metropolis. All of them having giant planets.
"Plant creatures have sprouted in Gotham City, Paris, Star City, Taipei-" he said when suddenly the feed for all the pictures went static.
"Dude!" Wally complained.
"It's not me!" He said defensively as he began typing faster to figure out what happened.
"Someone's cutting in the satellite signal. All satellite signals, world wide" he said as a familiar face for the Gothem duo popped up. The Joker.
He tapped the screen a few times almost to get the attention of someone.
"Ladies and gentlemen, we interrupt your regularly scheduled mayhem to bring you this important announcement…" he said before he opened a switchblade in one hand then uses the other to turn the camera left showing the group of villains.
"From the InJustice League" The Joker laughs off-camera.
"Eh I was close" DJ commented to himself.
"We are responsible for the attacks on your cities" Count Vertigo said taking over as the camera zoomed in.
"If you wish to save them, a ransom of 10 billion American Dollars is required. Delivery instructions have been sent to the United Nations. There is no time limit. But the longer your governments wait…" he was interrupted when the Joker grabbed the camera and turned it back towards him.
"The more we get to have our… jollies" he then laughs maniacally until the screen cuts back to static.
"Roger that, Aquaman. The UN will prepare the ransom as a fallback, but it won't come to that" Batman said into his coms.
Robin then rewound the video until the Joker turned the camera to the main group.
"Count Vertigo, The Joker, Poison Ivy, Ultra-Humanite, Atomic Skull, Black Adam and Wotan. Seven heavy hitters. Probably behind nearly everything and everyone we've faced" Robin said.
"There's your secret society" Wally stated.
"Not so secret anymore" Artemis said.
"Perhaps after India, they realized we would deduce the truth and saw no point in hiding any longer" Kaldur offers.
"Yeah. That was their mistake" Wally says brightly as he clenches his fist.
"Right now, I say we go kick some plant creature butt" he added.
"The Justice League will handle the plants" Batman denies almost instantly.
"I have a different job for this team" he added.
"Oh, man" Wally whines but grunts as Artemis hits him in the arm to quiet him.
"With the plants attacking so many locations simultaneously, there must be a central control system. Your mission is to destroy it" Batman stated.
"You realize what you're really asking them to do?" Zatara said as he walked up to Batman.
"They're ready" Batman assured the magic user.
"Ready? Ready for what?" Wally asked only to be hit in the arm again by Artemis.
"Ow! Will you cut that-" he was interrupted by the girl herself.
"Hello, Wally" Artemis purposefully mimics M'gann's phrase but with more bite and without the headslap.
"If the big guns are fighting plants, who do you think we'll be fighting?" She asked.
"I don't know. I guess we'll…" he was interrupted once again as Artemis pointed to the screen showing the Injustice League.
"Ohhh" he mumbles in realization.
"Well, Batman, I trust you're correct" Zatara yields to Batman's determination and how little the Team seems daunted by the task.
"I trust you can locate the enemy" he said.
"Indeed. Wotan's involvement suggests Sorcery is part of how the plants are controlled" Zatara said before he turned to the Team.
"Robin, if you will provide a HoloMap, I'll search for signs of concentrated sorcerous activity" he said as the boy wonder typed viciously and soon a holomap of a slowly spinning globe was then brought up in between the teens and adults.
Zatara then stepped up to the globe before he raised his hands.
"Etacol retnecipe fo yrecros" He spoke as the globe suddenly stopped spinning and a red dot appeared in the Southeast part of America.
"There. That is where you will find the InJustice League's central control system" he said as Robin looks at the readout in front of him.
"Coordinates locked in. The Louisiana Bayou" he said.
"We are on our way" Kaldur says sternly.
The Team takes off and Captain Marvel goes to follow.
"Captain Marvel" a call from Batman stops the hero short as he looked at the Dark Knight.
"For this plan to succeed, the entire Justice League must be seen fighting the plant creatures. You, Zatara, and I are needed elsewhere" he added.
As the rest of the team ran off to get their costumes, DJ and Kaldur met in the hallway. Both with a look of concern on his face.
"Wotan is a very powerful magic user" Kaldur stated as DJ nodded.
"I was just thinking the same thing. It'd be nice if we had our own magic user. Uh, no offense DJ said as Kaldur waved it off. He was technically right. Even though he knew some spells, he wasn't a main magic user.
Suddenly a thought popped into his head before he began walking away.
"Perhaps we do" he said as DJ followed him. The two then found themselves at Wally's the trophy room.
Kaldur then stepped forwards and grabbed the Helmet of Fate. Seeing this, DJ's eyes widened and he stepped forwards.
"You know when Wally put that helmet on, he almost didn't take it off" he warned.
"Wally claims that he was always capable of taking off the helmet" Kaldur said.
"Well Wally can say what he wants, but even he wouldn't take a joke so far as to make a team member believe he was stuck in the helmet. Besides as a leader, you must take into understanding the worst case scenario" DJ said. Kaldur went into thought again as he looked over the helmet.
"Very well, we will only use this as our last resort. And before you volunteer for the task, it'll be whoever can get to the helmet first" Kaldur said as DJ shut his mouth.
"Alright. But let's hope it doesn't come to that" DJ said as the two then went to get their suits on.
Batman is flying the BatPlane to get to the city. Going towards the large plant in the middle of the road. He presses a button to open a hatch and weed killer drops on the plant. As the plant corrodes away, Captain Marvel lands behind the plant.
He gets a hold of the plant and grunts as he yanks it out of the ground before taking flight, out of the atmosphere and throwing it towards the sun.
Batman flies over another slew of vines with more weed killer, while Zatara is encased in a magic bubble as he casts a spell.
"Erif, kees tuo siht larutannu erutaerc" Fire suddenly erupts on the vines, only for small spores to open and admit a green gas.
The fire department is overcome by the strange gas. Three of them then stumble out with their hands over their mouths as they cough.
Suddenly they began laughing with demented smiles. Two then fall over and laugh only occasionally but the smiles on their faces were frozen.
The Joker laughs as he watches the scene play out on one of his many screens. His gloves glowing as he controls the vines.
"Kobra-Venom's got nothing on good old Joker Venom" he said with a grin.
"Both work well in concert" Vertigo admits.
"Yes" Ivy said but then sighs as she sits down by one of the large brown roots.
"But we're putting considerable strain on my baby" she said. As she runs her hand over it, the area near her turns green again.
Ultra-Humanite approaches the root, pressing a button on the device in his hand that causes the plant to buzz.
"Valetudo ut sero!" Wotan casts, his hands glowing orange.
"We will keep her healthy and safe, Ivy. But she requires more power. Skull!" He said.
Atomic Skull stands on a platform behind Wotan and he then zapped one of the small pillars on it, causing the entire plant to turn green and start to sprout.
"Stunning what a little teamwork can accomplish" Vertigo smirks.
Suddenly a loud alarm began blaring.
"Intruders!" he snarled.
Inside the Bio-ship, the team was getting their weapons ready. Robin checked his exploding disks, Artemis checked her arrows and Razor sharpened his claws on each other.
And Kid Flash was eating a banana.
Kid then noticed the brown bag beside Aqualad's feet and immediately his interest was peaked.
"What's in the duffle?" he asked as Aqualad just kept looking ahead.
"Plan B" he said. Razor stopped for a second but went right back to sharpening his claws.
Suddenly Miss Martian groaned and placed a hand on her head, an action that immediately got the attention of Superboy and Wolf.
"You alright?" the Kryptonian asked his secret girlfriend.
"Dizzy" she said.
"Martians get air sick?" Robin questioned.
"She does look a little greener than usual" Kid Flash pointed out.
"I don't think it's that. We've flown longer distances before and at greater heights" Razor said.
"Not me... her" Miss Martian said. Immediately everyone looked over at Artemis who shrugged confused.
"I feel fine" she assured her teammates.
"Not her, the Bio-ship. She's trying to shield us but..." she was then cut off as the ride got very bumpy.
Outside Count Vertigo was using his powers on the Bio-ship, messing with the ship's camouflage and standing beside him was Black Adam.
However the camouflage soon failed and the red Bio-ship soon stuck out like a sore thumb.
"There it is Adam. Go!" he ordered as Black Adam rocked towards the ship. He punched the underside of the ship which sent it off course and caused the inhabitants inside to get knocked around.
Suddenly the ship came down hard into the swamp.
Yet they get no reprieve as vines come out from under the water and latch on to the ship, trying to drag her under the water.
Black Adam lands on the side and rips a hole in the top of the BioShip with his hands, causing Miss Martian to scream and clutches her head in pain.
"He's hurting her" she yelled as Superboy ran up and punched Black Adam. However he had such a good grip that he didn't go anywhere, it actually made Miss Martian scream more.
"Razor!" Superboy called as the Razor clawed teen appeared in front of the stronger teen. He then sliced at Adam's fingers which caused him to release his grip on the ship. However Razor didn't go deep enough to cause any permanent damage.
Razor then dropped down low to the floor as Superboy punched him again, this time the enemy of Captain Marvel went flying.
"Thanks" Superboy said as Razor got up and have him a slight punch on the shoulder.
"You're welcome" he said. However nobody was able to enjoy the peace as vines then began to pull the ship under the water and with the new hole, water began pouring inside.
"No. No way I'm nearly drowning three missions in a row" Artemis gripes as she puts a rebreather in her mouth. She shoves one in Kid's face.
"Wow. Uh, thanks" he said shocked with a small smile putting it in.
"M'gann, we need to get out. Open a hatch" Superboy says. Despite the pain, she smiled to herself.
"Hello, Megan. Of course" she says, hitting herself lightly on the head before growing gills on her neck. She swims to the floor and opens a hole in the ship.
"Out. Everyone out" Aqualad commands as Razor went to grab the duffle bag.
"No leave it" Kaldur said as he nodded before following the team.
They swim through the swamp water without being noticed, or at least they thought.
Kaldur was the first to break the surface, Conner following next gasping for air, M'gann behind him losing her gills, and Robin, KF, DJ and Artemis take off their rebreathers.
They watch from the trees as the vines drag the ship fully under the water.
"Will it be okay?" Razor asked the Martian. She nodded but still rubbed her head.
"Yes, she's in shock. She'll need time to recover" Miss Martian informs the team.
Before anyone can say anything, the entire Team screams in pain as they fall to the ground clutching their heads.
KF pushes himself to his elbows, looking up at the source.
"Vertigo" he said seeing the man standing above the team.
"Count Vertigo to you, peasant" the man growls.
Superboy stands to go and attack only to knocked back and punched in the face by Black Adam. Unconscious.
Razor snarled before he jumped at Adam with a growl, punching him in the stomach and then with an upper cut, knocking him back.
Aqualad looked back at the swamp before he unsheathed his Water-bearers. He then sent a steam of water at Count Vertigo, knocking the man back.
'Miss Martian, Robin. Dissappear. We'll keep them busy. You two must fulfil the mission objective' Aqualad said through the mental link.
Miss Martian immediately went into camouflage mode while Robin was already gone.
Razor then went flying past the group with a grunt while Aqualad was suddenly punched by Black Adam. However Wolf was quick to come to his defense, biting Adam on the arm while Artemis and Kid got to their feet.
However Black Adam threw wolf off and the canine took out the two heroes in the process of flying through the air.
In Paris
Vines wrapped around the Eiffel tower while Martian Manhunter flew with Aquaman in his hands. He then dropped the who snapped a vine with his bare hands while Martian Manhunter flew up and shifted into the tower.
As Aquaman continued to rip vines apart, he suddenly uncovered tourists that were trapped inside. As he helped them out, Manhunter flew out with some children in his arms.
In Taipei
Flash ran around a nuclear reactor, hacking vines. Another hero, a man with blue skin and horns coming out his head is armed with a gold lance, extends his lance until the shaft hits the ground before firing a laser at the plants around the nearest reactor.
However the rear reactor crumbles under the vines and alarms start blaring as a massive cloud rises, then glows as it starts to react with oxygen.
Flash and other hero look at the billowing plume with gaping looks, as neither had the powers to stop it. But Captain Atom flies up to it and starts pulling the reaction into himself, leaving only a dust cloud.
In Star City
The Star City bridge is under attack from the plants that are sprouting up from the river. One of the vines is wrapped around it and is trying to snap the suspender lines.
Red Arrow and Green Arrow stand side by side as they fire arrows at the vines. The arrows explode and destroy the vines once they hit.
A school bus that is trapped in the vines is full of panicking kids, and they flinch away as the glass gives way to the vines. Black Canary lands on top of it and uses her Cry to destroy the vines. Which explode when hit with the sound waves.
From her vantage point on top of the bus, she also seen a large wall of vines, blocking the traffic from escaping. She breathes in and takes out the wall of vines as she unleashes another Cry.
However another vine catches her off guard and knocks her off the bus. As she lands, she mentally wished Razor had been here to watch her back.
Back in Louisiana
The Joker chuckles as he watched the heroes through multiple screens that showed the places the plants had attacked.
"Poor heroes. Nothing they do is quite enough. Ain't it grand?" he laughs lowly as he continues to control the plants.
"And impressive how you simultaneously juggle multiple scenarios" Ivy continues to pet the plant and she watches him.
"I've had practice… Juggling my multiple personalities" he laughs not quite as maniacally as usually until something catches his eye.
"School's out!" He yelled focusing on the school bus Black Canary was just on.
A large vine with a red flower on top slams on top of the School Bus before picking it up. Green and Red Arrow stand behind Black Canary. RA on top of a car, while GA is behind Canary.
They both release two more arrows that explode, but nothing happens as the children and driver inside the bus scream. The vine continues to raise the bus before throwing it over the edge of the bridge.
The three heroes look over the edge in fear but see a green baseball glove holding the bus up. The Green Lantern that holds it wears a vest and fingerless gloves and no mask with his short haircut. He looked at them with a smile before giving them a two-finger salute.
Back in Louisiana
Black Adam carried a knocked out Superboy before throwing him to the ground. Around Superboy laid the rest of his team unconscious as well, minus Robin and Miss Martian.
"Two are missing" Vertigo announced, his eyes narrowing.
In the woods Robin was reading a map on his Holo-glove while Miss Martian followed still camouflaged.
'I've lost contact with Aqualad and the others. Should we-' she was then cut off by the Boy Wonder.
'Sorry, that's not the gig. This is' he thought before he pulled some branches aside to show the large dome with a plant sticking out of the top of it.
'The In-justice League's central control system. Looks like that plant is acting as an antenna to control the other plants worldwide' he added.
Unknown to both of them, Poison Ivy was standing right behind them.
"Well hello" she said announcing herself to the two. As soon as she spoke, vines erupted from the earth and wrapped the two up.
Ultra- Humanite landed behind her with his gun already cocked.
"And good bye" she added as Ultra- Humanite aimed his gun, going back and forth between the two. He finally settled on Miss Martian.
However just as he was about to fire, her eyes glowed green and the gun jerked downwards hitting the bottom of the vines instead of them, releasing the pair.
The two then ran in separate directions, Ivy following Robin while Ultra- Humanite went after Miss Martian.
"Sorry, Boy Wonder. I'm putting an end to your little reconnaissance mission" she raises her hands and more vines break out through the ground.
Robin jumps over one, easily slides down another, before jumping high over another to grab on to a tree branch that he spins twice around.
Releasing just before it is hit by the vines, he kicks off a nearby tree before landing on the ground with a grit of his teeth. Narrowly dodging two more vines that create an X behind him before he takes off.
Miss Martian flies through the trees, dodging Ultra-Humanite's shots before turning on her Camouflage and disappearing as Ultra-Humanite starts to fire more rapidly and with less accuracy now that he can't see her.
Inside the dome, Atomic skull was still creating power for the plant as the antenna was still glowing gold.
"With so much power at my fingertips, some might call me a control freak" he moves his fingers in the gloves and the plants respond.
"Others, just a freak. Either works for me" He added before laughing maniacally as he sees the BatPlane fly on to one of the screens.
Inside the cockpit, as he rounds the plant, Batman fires at the vines, which at the moment aren't attacking anything or anyone.
The plant screeches as it uses one of the vines to take out the BatPlane, much to Batman's surprise. However he ejected before the hit and used his suit to glide away.
As the Dark Knight makes his way to the city streets, Zatara, in a magical bubble recites another spell.
"Niatnoc eht erutaerc" A bubble suddenly surrounds the plant, even cutting off the parts of the arms that were outside the bubble.
Despite being cut off the tips still flail around, the Plant even tries to reconnect through the barrier. One hits a civilian off the bridge to the street below.
Luckily Plastic Man was waiting below in the shape of a trampoline. The man bounces and Plastic Man changes back to his original shape to catch the man and set him on his feet. He gives the civilian an over the top smile with two thumbs up before extending his torso up to the bridge.
In Paris
Martian Manhunter flies towards the plant still consuming the Eiffel Tower, managing to cut off a vine. In retaliation the plant strikes out at a News Chopper, knocking it completely off balance, causing the two passengers to fall out.
A pink streak flies down to catch them, revealing a teen girl with a short hairstyle, a skintight suit under a set of work coveralls, that are accented only with a bright red belt. This is Rocket.
The still falling Chopper is caught by another flying hero, Icon, before it can hit the city.
Back in Louisiana
Aqualad is the first to wake up with a groan which caused Razor to open his eyes. Looking around they realized they were in an orange cage created by Wotan.
"Two awaken. You're certain this will hold them?" Count Vertigo asks, standing a top Wotan's cage, while Black Adam Flies underneath holding it over his head.
"The cage is impenetrable. Even the Superboy has no chance of escaping" Wotan says with confidence.
"Well let's see how it likes adamantium" Razor said unsheathing his right claws before he sliced at the bars only to get shocked across the cage, his hair now smoking.
"Apparently it does not mind" Vertigo said with a smirk.
"You are not the only one trained in the mystic arts, Wotan" Aqualad snaps, his tattoos glowing as he pulls on the bars. But as he does so, the energy of the cage covers him rather than his Eel electricity, draining him of his power.
Wotan chuckles at the weak escape attempt.
"Please, Atlantean, do not pretend you're in my League" he stated.
Robin runs across a fallen tree as he makes his way through the area while still dodging Ivy's vines. He jumps out of the way of one as it breaks the ground on his right.
When one appears right under him, though he gets thrown backward and to the ground. Pushing himself to his knees as he hears some vines shriek on his right, aimed at him. Until they explode from inside and Miss M's camouflaged form flies over him.
'Robin, she's made contact' M'gann says with a cheery tone.
'Artemis?' he asks, both confused and stunned.
M'gann tone is strange as they watch the cage with their teammates in it fly over their heads.
'No'
As the cage neared the dome, the Bio-ship suddenly flew over Wotan, knocking him into the water below. Immediately the cage disappeared and everyone fell with the exception of Adam who swooped down and caught Vertigo.
"Not me. Stop those delinquents!" he ordered.
Superboy, Wolf, Aqualad, Razor, Artemis, and Kid Flash all dropped into the knee-high muddy water with grunts and groans as the water woke them up.
Superboy looks up as Wolf starts growling, finding the source of Wolf's growling to be Ultra-Humanite.
"I hate monkeys" he snarls before the two charged at the albino gorilla with a scream.
As Razor, Aqualad and Artemis all got to their feet, they spun around and seen Poison Ivy standing there with a smirk and vines coming out of the ground around her.
Artemis and Aqualad reached for their weapons only to find empty air.
"Ugh, I feel naked. And not in a fun way" she commented. Razor threw his arms down as his claws came out.
"Good thing no one can take my weapons" he said before slicing a vine that came his way.
"And we will make our own fun. As we have been trained" Aqualad said dodging a vine that came his way until Razor sliced it in half.
"Maneuver 7" he said as Artemis turns and takes a running start towards Aqualad as he threads his fingers together and squats down.
Her boot lands in his hands and uses his strength to launch her high above the vines. Giving her plenty of air time to aim her boot right at Poison Ivy's face. The force taking her to ground as she was busy distracted by Razor slicing her 'babies.'
"We can handle her, help out Kid Flash" Aqualad commanded as Razor looked over at Kid who was running towards Vertigo and Black Adam. However Vertigo used his pulsating waves to hit him.
Kid groans and slows down, coming to a near stop mere feet in front of the two. Black Adam then backfists him in the head, knocking him completely clear off the ground and sending him flying to the right.
However Adam was immediately tackled by Razor. Vertigo quickly looked around and did a head count of the young heroes.
"Where is Robin and the Martian?" he pointed out.
Meanwhile Wolf was biting Ultra-humanite's shoulder while Superboy was holding his other arm. However he was able to swat Superboy off before throwing his body forwards and grabbed wolf by his scruff and throwing him away.
Ivy jumped back as Artemis tried to round house kick her head but the villain ducked before summoning a plant to get rid of the heroine.
She then turned around and looked at the dome before gasping in shock.
"My baby!" She said. Now the antenna plant was covered in blinking lights. Upon closer inspection, it was revealed that the lights were Robin's explosive disks.
Suddenly all at once, the lights stopped blinking and a low whirling sound emitted from them. They then all exploded at once causing the planet to fall and everyone to stop fighting and shield their eyes from the blast.
Looking up once more where her baby once stood, Ivy seen Miss Martian and Robin standing on the dome, both bathed in orange due to the flames on the shreds of plant that reminded on the dome.
"Timber" Robin said in a low tone. Ivy scowled before she summoned vines around her and with a scream of rage shot them at the pair.
Miss Martian floated in front of Robin and destroyed all of the incoming vines simply with a raise of her hands. However she was soon taken out by a beam of energy.
Looking over, Robin seen Atomic Skull and Joker also standing on the dome before he began running as Skull chased him.
"Children, our plan was foiled by children. Inconceivable. Unacceptable. Retributionable!" He yelled before thinking for a second.
"That last one might not be a word. So sue me" he added in a low tone before he walked forwards to join the fight.
"Kill them. Kill them all" Vertigo ordered as Ivy ran forwards while Black Adam was still occupied with Razor.
Robin helped Miss Martian up before both jumped to the sides, avoiding a blast from Atomic Skull who jumped down where they just were before firing another laser.
Ultra-humanite growled as he approached Superboy and Wolf. Both growled in response before charging the ape.
Artemis walked backwards before she was suddenly consumed by pulsating waves from Vertigo. She was taken to the ground where she still tried to reach him but he wasn't letting up.
Kid Flash seen this and got to his feet.
"Leave her alone" he ordered. However his moment was interrupted when he was hit by a beam from Atomic Skull in the back.
"Enough" Wotan ordered as Robin threw two disks at him which exploded but once the smoke cleared, it was shown that he had formed a bubble around him, protecting him from the blasts.
He then raised his hands as lightening formed and shot in several directions, hitting every teen and canine. Even Miss Martian who was in camouflage mode.
She landed near Aqualad who used his powers to absorb the lightening as best he could from both himself and Miss Martian.
"Plan B, please" he said as she remembered the bag and nodded as her eyes glowed green. Unknown to them, Razor had also heard him. He then forced his claws to come out before stabbing himself in the stomach. His eyes widened before they turned red.
The Bio-ship, which had been floating camouflagedo nearby, flew over to the pair and opened a hole in the floor of the ship, the duffle bag falling out.
Aqualad directed both streams of lightening into one hand and prepared to catch the bag. However Razor jumped up and intercepted the bag before it could reach him and landed a few yards away.
"Razor, no!" Aqualad yelled. If what he said was true, then he would be the one trapped within the helmet. But his yell fell on deaf ears as Razor cut open the bag and brought out the helmet above his head. Immediately Wotan stopped zapping everyone with lightening.
The Helmet of Fate he muttered in shock. Hearing what he said, Kid looked over at Razor
"Razor don't!" Kid yelled before he was punched away by Black Adam who was then immediately punched by Superboy. Kid slammed into a tree and a sickening crack was heared
Razor took a deep breath before he looked at Aqualad once more.
"Tell Black Canary and Green Arrow that I am sorry" he said. And with that, he slid the helmet on.
A golden flash of light blinded everyone for a second. Once their sight was back everyone looked back however Razor wasn't seen, only Dr Fate was standing there.
Kid got up, now holding his right arm close to his body.
"Oh dude" he said with dread in his voice as Dr Fate flew up to Wotan.
DJ's pov
I groaned as I raised my head. Looking around I seen I was in a laying position and everywhere else was pitch black with the exception of a light right above me.
"If memory serves me correctly, you're Razor, correct? a voice behind me said. I whipped around and got into a fighting stance but I only seen a familiar face sitting at a table with a chess set on it that wasn't there when I did my original scan of the area.
"Kent Nelson?" I asked shocked. The old man smiled and got up before walking over to me.
"I guess Wally decided to stick to his believes. When I passed on, my soul was sucked into the helmet. I agreed to keep Nabu company until a suitable replacement was found to be the helmet's new host" he said. I nodded before looking around again. I seen him smile before he turned away.
"Wanna watch?" He asked as a large bright screen appeared in front of us and it was like I was seeing through my eyes again, staring down Wotan.
Third person view
"Wotan, you are mine" Dr Fate said, his voice now a mix of Nabu's and DJ's. Wotan fired a orange beam from both hands at Dr Fate while he fired a golden one out of his chest.
The blasts met but the one from Dr Fate was stronger than Wotan's and the blast send the villain into the dome.
The blast held him there for a few seconds until the beam turned into magical chains that held him against the dome.
Back on the ground Robin was getting up from the ground when he was approached by a familiar face.
"Wonder Boy, you are mine" Joker said in a deep voice while opening a switchblade. He then began laughing menacingly while swinging the knife at a muddied Robin.
Robin jumped and over Joker before doing a short handstand and landing back on his feet, facing the evil clown once more.
"Always wanted to carve this bird" he said before charging Robin with two blades.
"Solvo quod reverto" Wotan chanted as the chains burst apart before flying at Dr Fate with a gesture from Wotan.
However Dr Fate created a large golden Ankh that absorbed the chains.
"Wotan has prepared for your return Doctor. Fulmina venite!" Wotan chanted firing another orange blast at the Lord of Order. However this one was more powerful than the last and shattered the Ankh, sending Dr Fate to the ground.
Wotan smiled as he hovered over Dr Fate. He smiled even more seeing blood coming from Dr Fate's side, courtesy of a piece of the shattered Ankh. However his happiness turned to shock when the piece was pushed out and the exposed skin attached itself.
"How-" Wotan said in shock. Dr Fate's healing powers didn't work that fast. Dr Fate then stood up before standing tall.
"It benefits well to have a host with advanced healing powers of his own" he said before he rocketed towards the sorcerer with fury in his eyes.
Miss M makes her way through the wooded area, still camouflaged, avoiding Ivy's vines as she shoots past the villain.
"I can't see you, Martian, but perhaps I'll hear you scream" the villainess threatens as Vertigo suddenly steps up to Ivy's side.
"And perhaps I can be of some assistance" he offers, Ivy stands a little more relaxed as Vertigo releases his pulsing waves.
Miss M's eyes go wide as she's hit with the first wave, causing her to turn off her camouflage then grip her head as the waves continue. Finally knocking her out of the air with a scream.
Kid bolts past Vertigo, knocking the Count off balance and ripping a bit of his cloak off in the process.
Ivy and Vertigo are both stunned by the turn of events. As Vertigo turns to get back at KF, he sees Artemis already in the air and her left leg extending seconds before she hits him in the face with a solid roundhouse kick.
Ivy doesn't even have time to dodge Vertigo before he crashes into her and they both get knocked off their feet and into the mud a solid few feet away.
Kid skids to a stop and braces his back against a tree, his left hand still bracing his right elbow. Artemis takes cover behind the same tree before taking the piece of Vertigo's cape from Wally's grasp. He grunts at the jostling of his arm.
"Hey, that's my souvenir" he whines. Artemis doesn't care and ignores his complaint.
"Hold still" she ordered him as she finishes tying the knot behind his head. The souvenir-now-sling hold his arm close to his body.
He looks at her with a bit of a stunned look as she takes a small step back. Only to watch her get his by Wolf who was thrown at her.
She yelps under the sudden impact of something that probably weighs more than she does.
"Artemis!" he yelled before seeing Ultra Humanite coming in with a punch aimed for his head.
He ducks under it and takes off running as the ape buried it's fist into the trunk of the tree before running after Kid.
In the sky, Wotan fires blast after blast at Dr Fate but the Lord of Order kept dodging.
"Surrender, sorcerer. You cannot hope to defeat a Lord of Order" he said before he fired a large beam in the shape of a Ankh.
Wotan extends his arms which take the front of the attack, glows gold for a second before disappearing all together. However he quickly reappeared behind Dr Fate who turned a little too late.
Wotan fired a large blast using both hands that send Dr Fate back a few yards.
"I can defeat you and I will" he said his hands glowing orange.
"Ekirts natoW nwod!" a new voice calls out causing Wotan to look up in shock as another golden blast hits him in his chest, sending him backwards.
"Not tonight Wotan" Zatara said as he floated on a orange circle platform while the tip of his wand was also orange. Behind him were Captain Atom, Hawkman, Shazam, Hawkgirl and Martian Manhunter.
The blast sends the sorcerer to the ground which causes Ultra-humanite to look over in shock. This gives Superboy his opening to punch him back.
The Joker was still swiping at the Boy Wonder with his knives, and was missing, until a Batarang knocked one of the blades out of his hands.
Looking up with a smile and a raised eyebrow, he seen his Batsy floating down on a platform made by Green Lantern, John Stewart, along with, Black Canary, Green Arrow and Aquaman with Superman floating down beside them.
Ultra-humanite and Atomic Skull back up next to a downed Wotan and Black Adam who was standing next to him. Soon enough all villains found themselves surrounded by an army of full grown superheroes.
And the teens had been giving them a run for their money.
"It's over" Batman said. Vertigo looked over at Ivy who looked back at him and then almost at the same time, they all raised their hands in defeat.
"There will be another day" Vertigo announced.
"Another day?" Joker said drawing the villains attention to the clown who had now lost his smirk.
"Another day!? There won't be another day! Not for any of us!" He announced laughing and raising his hands in the air. His fingers began to dance again like when he was controlling the plants.
Large vines with red spores on them erupted from the murky water in front of the dome as well as all around the heroes. Immediately the spores exploded, emitting a green gas.
"Joker Venom spores. Don't breath!" Batman ordered throwing a hay maker into the side of Joker's face. The clown fell into the water as Batman watched the cloud grow larger.
Suddenly Dr Fate rose from behind the cloud.
"Fear not" he said summoning a large Ankh which began sucking in the large cloud of gas. Once it was all gone, the Ankh vanished.
"Fate has intervened!" He yelled as all the villains and heroes stared up at him. Slowly he lowered himself to the ground landing in front of the other heroes.
Black Canary looked around the swamp to see that none of the teens were injured. However she didn't see the teen she was looking for.
"Where's Razor" she asked turning to the other teens with a concerned look. However they all stayed quiet. Kid looked at Dr Fate who was standing still with a dead stare into space.
Black Canary followed his stare and seen who he was looking at. She then seen the hazel eyes behind the helmet.
She felt tears welling up in her eyes as she approached. She knew what happened when someone put on the Helmet of Fate.
As she got to the hero, he still stared into space. She wrapped her arms around his neck and gave the stiff Lord of Order a hug as best she could.
"Well she's sad so I'll take that" Joker said as he was handcuffed. Only to be swiftly kicked in the gut by Green Arrow.
DJ's pov
I smiled seeing that I, well we, had kept my team safe. The large screen disappeared and a large Helmet of Fate appeared in it's place.
"You put on the helmet knowing from your companion and from our previous encounter that you would not be able to take it off" Nabu's voice echoed throughout the area.
"I did and I have made my peace with it" I said nodding. However Kent Nelson stepped towards the helmet.
"Nabu, I know you are eager to gain a host. But this boy is not it. You have seen his future, what he is destined for, how he effects the lives of others around him. This is not your host" he said. The helmet went silent and I took that for he was thinking. Now that I had a moment I to began thinking as well.
"Very well, I release you from the Helmet. You may take it off now" Nabu said as the large helmet began fading.
"Hang on" I said stepping up. I reappeared fully as Kent looked over at me interested.
"What if me and my team became your temporary users?" I suggested.
"Continue" he said now sounding interested.
"Well, we have only one who has had training in magic arts. But all of us are strong willed. And a lot of us have our own strengths. We do have school so we can't help you during the day but after school, a little into the nights and weekends. I'm sure we can all work out a schedule, even if some of them aren't comfortable with it" I said.
"It's a good offer, Nabu. And I'll still stay with you until we find a permanent host. It will be nice to see Wally again" Kent said.
"Taking on many different hosts only for short amounts of time, it's difficult. But the world needs Dr Fate. I accept these terms, although I'm sure you have to talk with your team" first he said. I smiled and nodded.
"Yes, I do" I said before I reached up and acted like I was taking off the helmet, though in this mindspace I was just wearing my normal costume.
Third person view/ a few minutes earlier
"I can't believe you brought the Helmet of Fate! Nabu will never release Razor now that he put it on" Kid said pacing back and forth in front of the none moving Dr Fate. The villains were on their way to Belle Reve except for Ivy and Joker who were on their way back to Arkham.
Most of the heroes had left and were escorting the villains so now the only ones remaining were Green Arrow, Black Canary, Batman, Zatara and Captain Marvel.
"If we did not bring the helmet, we would not have lasted very long against Wotan. It was a calculated risk, one that I was going to take myself" Aqualad said.
"You or him, it doesn't matter. Either way, one of you would be trapped in there, forever" Kid added looking down.
Suddenly Dr Fate began moving. He raised his hands and took off the helmet. In another flash of light, Dr fate disappeared and Razor was left standing there.
"Nabu let you go?" Kid asked in shock.
"He almost didn't, but Kent Nelson spoke in my defense saying that I was not the one destined to be the helmet's new host. He says hi by the way" Razor spoke as Kid smiled. He then found himself being hugged by Black Canary who had tears in her eyes.
"I thought I lost you" she muttered as DJ slowly hugged her back.
"We're done here" Batman says, drawing the Team's attention to him in an instant as well as the other heroes.
"The SuperVillain Secret Society has been neutralized. As for your performance…it was satisfactory" he said after some hesitation. All teens share a happy look at what is basically praise from the Dark Knight.
The screens play the incidents over the globe and the intervention of the Justice League.
"Impressive. The plant creatures have proven their usefulness as potential weapons" A male voice said as the images are replaced with one cohesive image of the InJustice League.
"More importantly, the so-called Heroes now believe our secret society has been revealed and crushed" It added as dark looming shadow steps out of the shadows revealing who had been talking, Vandal Savage.
"With the InJustice League serving as our proxies, we are once again free to operate with impunity" he paused as he looks behind him, Queen Bee, Ocean Master, and Ra's Al Ghul are on his left, while Lex Luthor steps on his right, followed by Klarion, and the Brain.
"And shadows still conceal our Light" he finished with a dark grin on his face.
