Hey guys, I just have a few quick things to say:

First of all, thank you for reading my fanfic, this is my first one and my English is not perfect so I'm really anxious.

I just edited the first chapter and fixed it up a bit, so feel free to reread it.

I would love to hear what you think about this story and see if you guys have any ideas that might help me, so please review.

Enjoy!

Chapter 2

As I drew closer to the castle, I began to worry. I couldn't just waltz back into the great hall and expect everyone to just let me live, after all, to them I was still the enemy, a traitor who they would be quite happy to see dead. Minerva already had a go at me, and I was not anxious to repeat the experience.

I had to stay hidden until the right moment, and only reveal myself once Potter was dead. The element of surprise gave me the advantage and I needed to keep it.

I climbed over piles of rubble and side-stepped people carrying in the injured and the dead. My mood grew darker every time I recognized another body, so many young lives taken, so many futures stolen.

I jumped out of the way just in time as Wood and Longbottom passed carrying Creevy. I forced my self to look away, Creevy was a Gryffindor sixth year, one of 'Dumbledore's Army'. Creevy had always been so full of life, running after Potter like a little lapdog. I smirked, and immediately turned it into a scowl. Stupid reckless Gryffindor, going and getting himself killed, another life that I had been supposed to protect* -gone. Why had he even stayed to fight?! he wasn't even of age. idiot.

I was suddenly filled with fury (and regret, but I usually tried to ignore that feeling). Children were dying fighting The Dark Lord, while I was hiding.

I was suddenly hungry to fight, to reveal my true loyalty's and get revenge for Lily and everyone else who had been taken before their time.

Now filled with a reckless energy, I hurried up the stone steps of the castle, but immediately froze when I saw Longbottom leaning against the cracked doorframe.

I felt a weird rush of pride watching him, he had come a long way from the nervous scared little boy that used to be terrified of me. He had overcome his fear and had spent the whole year making trouble for the Carrows and me. Most of the things he had done did not annoy me very much, (well, apart from that graffiti. If we both survived, I would definitely make sure he payed for that) he had just made it harder to keep him safe.

Longbottom yelped, pulling me from my thoughts. Potter had just appeared in front of him from under his invisibility cloak.

'Fuck.' I muttered to myself, 'what was he doing here, his hour was nearly up.'

"Where are you going, alone?" Longbottom asked suspiciously.

"It's all part of the plan," said Potter. "There's something I've got to do. Listen—Neville— " "Harry!" Longbottom interrupted, looking scared all of a sudden-

"Harry, you're not thinking of handing yourself over?"

"No," Potter lied, I groaned inwardly, Potter had always been a bad liar, I was surprised Longbottom bought it.

"Course not . . . this is something else. But I might be out of sight for a while. You know Voldemort's snake, Neville? He's got a huge snake. . . . Calls it Nagini . . . "Potter asked.

Longbottom looked confused,"I've heard, yeah. . . . What about it?"

"It's got to be killed. Ron and Hermione know that, but just in case they— " Potter suddenly looked pained, and for a second his emerald eyes filled with dread, but he quickly pulled himself together, and continued.

"Just in case they're—busy— and you get the chance— "

"Kill the snake?" Asked Longbottom, he seemed confident, or maybe just brave,

"Kill the snake," Potter repeated.

"All right, Harry, You're okay, are you?" -Ahh, so maybe Longbottom was not as oblivious as I thought,

"I'm fine. Thanks, Neville."

But Longbottom seized Potter's wrist as he made to move on.

"We're all going to keep fighting, Harry. You know that?" there was that bravery again, Longbottom really was a Gryffindor through and through.

"Yeah, I— " Potter suddenly didn't seem able to go on, he had a look of helplessness in his eyes, and I found myself unexpectedly feeling sorry for him (-really, pity for Potter?! What was happening to me).

Longbottom did not seem to find Potter's behavior strange. He patted him on the shoulder, released him, and walked away to look for more bodies.

Potter disappeared under his cloak, and once again I felt the guilt overcome me, watching as the grass was crushed under his invisible feet as he sneaked past, heading toward the forest, to his death.

I quickly shook of the guilt, I did not want to, nor could I afford to worry about Lily's son now, I had more important things to think about, so Nagini had to die as well, interesting. Albus had implied as much and The Dark Lord was not one for sentiment, so I had wondered why he cared for his snake's wellbeing so much. Did this mean the snake had a part of The Dark Lord's soul as well? And if so, then how did we there were more pieces hidden?

I puzzled over this new revelation for a few minutes, and then I realized-

That was what Albus had told Potter to do, what Potter had spent the last year doing. the brake in to Gringotts, the fiasco at the ministry, he had been finding and disposing of the pieces of The Dark Lord's soul. Obviously, The Dark Lord had split his soul more than once, on purpose, and Potter had destroyed those pieces, apart from the Nagini it would seem, but the piece in Potter seemed to be a mistake, The Dark Lord must not know about it, otherwise he would never try to kill the boy.

But why had Albus not told me all this? I could have helped them…

Well never mind that now.

So, Granger, Weasley and Longbottom knew to kill the snake, and they probably knew how to as well, so I would wait for them to deal with her, and then I will be free to dule The dark lord and kill him.

Filled with grim determination, I turned and walked into the great hall.
