Chapter Fifty
Ushering her daughter and friends in, Camila calls Jacob. Luz situates Danielle on the couch. After having gotten off the phone, Camila heads back into the kitchen to clean the dishes only to find Willow and Gus doing them for her. Luz had gotten some bandages before Hunter approached her.
"Hey. Thanks for not telling them that I'm a..." said Hunter, looking at Luz.
"I thought me and Danielle already told you," said Luz, opening the box of bandages. "They already know, it's just in the back of their minds."
"Oh… right," said Hunter, sheepishly rubbing the back of his head. "Uh... what about you? How've you been since, uh...?"
"Since we were in Belos' mind? Since I found out me and Danielle helped him meet Aster? Oh my gosh, Hunter," said Luz, tearing up some. "They're all gonna hate me and Danielle."
"What? Psssh! No, of course they won't. They won't hate you any more than me when they…" said Hunter, deeply sighing. "Right, right, they know."
"I'll tell them. When I'm ready," said Luz, walking out into the living room and sitting down, placing a bandage on Amity's hand.
"As long as that man was defeated this time, I'll be happy," said Camila, hearing from everyone what transpired. "Goodness knows that you all need a break now."
"But something else is now there," said Luz, playing with Danielle's hair. "Whatever that blaze was, is on the Boiling Isles. It could be one of Aster's siblings."
"Meaning the battle isn't over," said Camila, before hearing rapid knocking on the door. "I'm coming… whoa!"
"Danielle, sweet pea," said Jacob, running inside and checking on his daughter. "Come on, wake up sweetie, wake up. What happened to my daughter?"
"Don't yell at my daughter," said Camila, glaring at Jacob.
"Well, excuse me but if your daughter never time traveled, this wouldn't have happened. And now look at my baby girl," said Jacob, kneeling down and stroking his daughter's hair.
"I'm sorry," said Luz, looking at Jacob.
"Sorry doesn't cut it," said Jacob, before picking up his daughter and heading towards the door. "Don't call us, we'll call you."
"I really messed up," said Luz, head in her hands as Jacob left with his daughter.
"It's not your fault mija," said Camila, putting a reassuring hand on her daughter's shoulder. "Jacob is… he's just…"
"Loves Danielle very much," said Luz, looking at her mom. "And probably deals with a lot with his own dad."
"That man is not welcoming," said Camila, shuddering from that memory before looking at everyone. "But for now, you should all rest. You're all safe here."
As for Jacob, after driving home and getting Danielle inside, heads upstairs. Skye was meowing up a storm before hopping onto the bed and nuzzling against Danielle, trying to wake her.
"This is all my fault," said Jacob, stroking his daughter's hair. "I should have stayed for breakfast that day. None of this would have happened if I…"
"(Oh, master… wait, where are you going?)" thought Skye, following after Jacob downstairs.
"Danielle needs to get away from all this," said Jacob, going through his book of phone numbers. "Reina always…"
"You're sending the princess away!? What are you thinking…" shouted Skye, looking at Jacob. "I mean… meow!"
"… … Luna… Serenity… hahaha…" said Jacob, staring at Skye. "Danielle is gonna love this. Your voice is similar to those two, not the Viz dub but the DiC dub."
"Okay, you finally heard my voice but reconsider this," said Skye, hopping onto the counter. "Sending Danielle to Ginza…"
"She needs to get away from all this," said Jacob, flipping pages. "She'll thank me later for this."
"I still think you're making a big mistake here," said Skye, jumping down before heading back upstairs. "I'll watch over the princess."
"Please do," said Jacob, only to feel Skye's gaze on him from the stairs.
"I better get lobster for this," said Skye, glaring at Jacob. "Heavens know that Danielle will not like what you're doing."
Meanwhile back on the Boiling Isles, the blaze continued for quite a bit. King had grabbed hold of Aster to prevent from being pulled from whatever force was pulling him. And then the blaze collapsed the barrier and slammed Aster and King into the bridge hard.
"Ow," said Aster, wincing in pain.
"What is that?" asked King, looking at Aster.
"Not what," said Aster, shakily pointing towards a person within the blaze as it dissipated. "Who."
The person Aster was pointing to was a Celestial much like him. Slightly taller by a head, was a young boy. Slightly messy short dark red hair in a low ponytail, deep blue eyes, and tan skin with a light blue sun pattern on the right side of his face. Dark red shorts with gold swirling sun patterns with a matching sleeveless midriff shirt with sleeveless black shirt underneath and wearing blackstrap sandals.
"Nova," said Aster, gulping.
"Aw man, I haven't been back here since the war," said Nova, looking around. "Looks like the last Titan standing became an actual island. Hmmm… Aster!"
"Shoot," said Aster, before hiding King behind him.
"What are you hiding?" asked Nova, appearing before Aster in a blink of an eye and trying to peer behind him before grabbing Aster's shirt collar. "Move aside, Aster."
"No," said Aster, only to be thrown to the side.
"So, this is what you were hiding… a baby Titan!" said Nova, eyeing King. "Hey, want your first flying lesson?"
"I don't even have…" said King, as he was levitated and thrown towards the plaza. "WEH!"
"This is too good! The last Titan is gonna be so much fun to hunt," said Nova, laughing. "I should let Dios know."
"King!" shouted Aster, flying after King after cushioning their fall. "Are you okay?"
"They're nuts!" said King, looking at Aster than noticing Eda. "Eda! Your arm!"
"Yeah," said Aster, staring at what used to be Eda's arm. "Way out of my expertise here."
"That's because you suck at healing," said Nova, descending down to the plaza. "Wait… is this…"
"Question you two," said Eda, looking at Aster and King. "What was that blaze? And who is that?"
"Both parts can be answered simply," said Aster, looking at Eda. "That blaze was Nova here."
"Don't go giving out my name," said Nova, grabbing hold of Aster's shirt collar. "These itty bitty spiders don't deserve…"
"Let go," said Aster, pushing Nova away. "Oops."
"Big mistake," said Nova, glaring at Aster before shooting a fireball at him. "Stay still. You're supposed to stay still."
"I'm tired of being bullied by you," said Aster, dodging Nova's fireball. "So no, I won't stay still ever again for you."
"You may be able to dodge but they can't," said Nova, before shooting his fireballs towards the crowd. "Sunshot Frenzy!"
"Noo!" shouted Aster, flying past the fireballs and erecting a barrier. "Stop it!"
"What are you gonna do about it?" said Nova, continuing his assault. "They're just mortals… itty bitty spiders."
"I have friends here," said Aster, keeping the barrier up.
"You mean the baby Titan here," said Nova, stopping his assault and pointing towards King. "He doesn't even have a proper Titan name."
"Titan?" said Male Demon #1, looking at the crowd.
"But the Titans are dead," said Female Witch #1, talking to her friend.
"Ow! Hey, that's my tail," said King, as Nova pulled him up by his tail.
"Uh hello, Titan right here mortals," said Nova, holding King.
"Eda's pet dog/cat!?" said the crowd, staring at King.
"You had a Titan under your house this whole time," said Terra, eyeing Eda than King.
"I wonder if he'll let me study him," thought Hettie, wondering about King's anatomy.
"Eda," said King, getting out of Nova's grasp and hiding in Eda's hair.
"What a riot," said Nova, laughing.
"You can't keep the Titan to yourself Clawthorne," said Terra, sending a vine and grabbing King. "He belongs to all of us."
"He's my son, Terra," said Eda, slashing the vine and grabbing King. "And I'm not letting anyone take him away."
"We can easily repeal the adoption," said Vitimir, eyeing Eda. "Easy as that."
"You won't be repealing anything," said Eda, going harpy.
"So that's where that beast went," said Nova, getting in front with Eda. "Dios has been looking for it and now it's a part of you. Separating you two will be easy but you won't survive."
"Back off kid," said Eda, glaring at Nova.
"Pfft, like you can really harm me," said Nova, floating about. "What I want to know is why there's a Draining Spell that has been altered down here?"
"Altered… it's been altered?" said Aster, eyeing the pattern.
"It's only meant to drain magic to a certain point," said Nova, looking at Aster. "This… this is going straight to the heart where the last strand of magic resides. That's gone… bye bye."
"He altered the spell… he altered the spell," thought Aster, shaking with rage.
"Did you give this to someone?" asked Nova, staring at Aster. "We shouldn't be giving mortals spells without permission from the higher authorities."
"I know my mistake," said Aster, looking at Nova. "I was wrong to give it to him but I thought he was my friend back then so just… shut up!"
"Did you just tell me to shut up?" asked Nova, grabbing hold of Aster's shirt collar. "Did you?"
"Yeah, I did," replied Aster, glaring at Nova. "So what?"
"Pfft… aw, man, look at your eyes," said Nova, laughing at Aster. "It's like you got jaundice. It's even affected your actual eye color. And even your complexion."
"Stop laughing," said Aster, glaring at Nova before attacking.
"Great, not only is the Collector free now we have another of his kind here," said Darius, watching the fight in the sky. "Where's Danielle?"
"She's… uh… back in the Human Realm," replied King, looking at Daruis. "So is Luz and the others."
"Then she can consider this her exile from our realm," said Daruis, looking at King. "For releasing the Collector."
"What?" shouted Eda, glaring at Daruis. "You're treading on thin ice right there, Deamonne."
"It wasn't Danielle that released him. It was me," said King, looking at Darius.
"Why would you release him?" asked Darius, looking at King. "Not only is he a threat to our realm but also a threat to you in general."
"He's changed, can't you see?" said King, looking at Darius. "He has been working with us."
"Waah!" screamed Aster and Nova, as a pillar of water shot them to the center of the platform.
"Great, the crybaby is here," said Nova, burning away the water clinging to him.
"… …" said Aster, eye twitching as someone clung to him crying.
That someone was another Celestial, half a head taller than Aster, was a young boy as well. Snow white short hair, neatly combed with a small ponytail, and light blue eyes. Fair skinned with a light blue teardrop mark under his left eye, and a light blue circle covering over his right eye and forehead. Left hand was light blue as well. Attire was a high neck long sleeve shirt that was emerald on the right side and a light mint on the left side with the sleeve's cuffs being emerald on the left sleeve and emerald on the right sleeve. It had a gold trim on the hem, around the neck and down the front of the shirt. There was a lighter emerald sash around the hip area and emerald pants. Shoes were emerald as well with a gold hem. Had a necklace with a light blue teardrop shaped charm with a darker blue seven-point star in the center. Had a cap similar to Aster's but was emerald as well.
"Aster," cried the Celestial Boy, clinging to Aster while literally crying a river. "I missed you so much."
"Great, another one," said Daruis, pinching the bridge of his nose. "Titan, help us all."
"Rune, get off," said Aster, trying to get out of Rune's hold. "You're making my clothes all wet."
"They already stink," said Rune, wiping his tears. "Confinement did your clothes no good."
"What?" said Aster, sniffing his clothes only to cringe. "Ugh, sealed off package smell… great."
"Whatever," said Terra, looking at everyone. "Just give us the Ti…"
"Can it granny," said Nova, turning Terra into a doll.
"Not again," said Daruis, seeing Terra's doll form tumble down the stairs.
"Now hold on… I…" said Mason, looking from Nova to King. "I can make a shrine to you if that will…"
"What, no, I don't need a shrine," said King, looking at Mason before thinking. "But Belos did burn down our house."
"I can build you a new one," said Mason, staring at King. "Bigger… better…"
"Titans don't need houses. They roam the lands," said Rune, looking at Mason. "They're nomadic and the one species out there so far that doesn't always need a mate."
"Oh, I didn't…" said Mason, looking at Rune.
"I still want my house back," said King, looking at Rune than Mason. "If I figure out the layout and such, would you build it?"
"Of course, Lord King," said Mason, bowing to King.
"Yeah," said King, cringing on being called Lord.
"Good going King," said Eda, picking King up.
"I haven't seen a baby Titan since the war started," said Rune, checking out King. "I'm much like Aster and thought baby Titans were the cutest but this one… is lacking in certain nutrients."
"Really?" said Eda, looking at Rune.
"Give me a while to read up and I'll start searching for the stuff to help… King, right?" said Rune, magicking a book forth. "If he has already got his sonic shout then in a few years he should be growing wings."
"Yeah, I don't need a flight lesson any time soon," said King, slightly glaring towards Nova.
"Is there any way we can help?" asked Raine, stepping forward.
"Building a new Portal Door for Danielle and the others," said Aster, looking at Raine. "Please?"
"Are you begging for a mortal's help?" asked Nova, staring at Aster.
"So, what if I am?" said Aster, glaring at Nova.
"Whose Danielle?" asked Rune, staring at Aster.
"Uh… she's a… a friend…" replied Aster, with a slight blush. "A really good friend. And someone who really wanted to release me."
"Smitten kitten," said Eda, whispering to Raine.
"Well, anyway, I'm Raine Whispers," said Raine, holding out his hand to Rune. "You seem like a reasonable one. I bet we can work things out."
"And I'm not?" said Nova, slightly glaring at Raine.
"I bet you are too," said Raine, looking at Nova. "But you're a…"
"Hothead and such," said Nova, looking at Raine. "So, what, I'm studying to be the next Grand Huntsman under Dios. I don't need to be reasonable with ones that I'm hunting and wanting to archive."
"Like this one?" said King, unfurling a scroll he found on the ground.
"Don't open that!" shouted Nova, only for the contained creature to be released.
"GORO!" shouted the Creature, sending lightning and flames everywhere.
"Do you know how long it took to catch that critter?" shouted Nova, glaring at King.
"Uh… oops," said King, nervously chuckling.
"Grrr, come back here!" shouted Nova, eyeing the creature before jumping towards it.
"GORO," said the Creature, before sending lightning and fire at Nova. "CHUUUUUUUU!"
"I told you before that only tickles," said Nova, only for the creature to run away. "Now look what you done."
"Now then, I don't think King meant for…" said Raine, looking at Nova.
"Can it mister!" shouted Nova, glaring at Raine.
"Actually, it's mx.," said Raine, correcting Nova. "I use they/them pronouns."
"Are you kidding me?" shouted Nova, pushing Raine away. "There are only two genders out there and that's male and female. Don't push your gender crap on me! The only exception is the Titan race. You… can't… be… both!"
"That's how it works here Nova," said Aster, looking at Nova. "They have no problem…"
"And that's the problem with mortals. Not only do they start to hurt their realm after a certain point but they also start to think they can be both genders," said Nova, glaring at Aster. "Or decide that they don't want to be what they were born as and have surgery to be the other gender. They're corrupt."
"They're not corrupt," said Aster, looking at Nova. "They're just… different."
"Keep telling yourself that, Aster," said Nova, slightly glaring at Aster. "At least, our realm is pure. Such things don't exist there. I'm tired of all this."
"What are you thinking?" asked Aster, watching Nova ascend before seeing the skull of the Titan being disassembled. "What are you doing?"
"Setting up," replied Nova, as the disassembled parts start to form over the head of the Titan.
"You're disrespecting the dead here," said Rune, before reforming the disassembled parts under his control. "And your style is so… awful."
"And yours is any better?" said Nova, as the disassembled parts was starting to form something akin to a crown or tiara over the Titan's head. "Typical… standard… boring… ugh."
"Rune," said Aster, looking at Rune. "You could have set it back in place. You're disrespecting the Titan as well."
"I know but you know I was never good with molding things anatomy wise," said Rune, looking at Aster. "It creeps me out. Besides, it's a crown at least, respecting in my own way by saying they're the supreme being of their realm."
"But…" said Aster, as King whimpered after seeing what happened to his dad's skull before looking at Nova. "Nova…"
"And now a new hunt begins!" said Nova, excited. "Let the games begin!"
Note: Nova's outfit is basically a cross between Aster's clothes and Genis Sage's clothes from Tales of Symphonia
