Chapter 7. Message from Toronto
[May 08th, 2078. Gibraltar Watch Point Base]
"Prepare for battle. Select your position."
Athena's voice reverberated throughout the base. The Gibraltar base was briefly transformed into a simulated combat training site again, not long after the joint training ended. Each of the heroes, divided the teams in half, corrected their positions at the starting position of each team, just like the last time. Ana looked at the heroes, standing in front of her. They were always reliable, after all. However, the only difference from a month ago, is the addition of a young trustable man, who was ready on his position, with a classic uniform and firearm.
"Kim, you ready?"
asked inside Mech. Kim replied, with pulling the charge handle.
"Since there's no humidity and heat just like in Vietnam, now we're talking."
The XM177 rifle made a clank sound, as it's get loaded. Kim looked back at Kiriko who was standing right next to him. She clasped her Ofuda and Kunai. Kim nodded to her once, as a gesture of trust. Kiriko answered to Kim in the same way. Torbjorn was agonizing over about how to tease Reinhardt, if he overpowered him, who had gone to Jack's team on the other side, and Sloan only hopes that Winston would not just come at to her.
"3, 2, 1, Fight!"
Athena announced the start of the battle. Soldier:76 instructed the charge in front of the rocket launcher, in a motion that reminded of his old days. Everyone starts to run, with shouting their own battle cry.
Hanzo was the first one, who moves up to the high ground in the central battle zone. His arrow could fly well over the long distances, and he was also a perfect archer, so if he held out well on this high ground, the allies' offensive would have to work out smoothly.
And again, the quickest, and bouncing tracer caught his eye first. Hanzo pulled the bowstring. Of course, he first checked whether it was a training-purpose safety arrow, not the real one that he uses in combat. The eyes of the seasoned archer predicted the trajectory of the arrow, and he was about to let go of the string.
[Pop!]
"Ouch!"
Hanzo was surprised by the feeling of something hitting on his side, stinging. While flinching, the direction of the bow was reversed, and the arrow was inserted into the wall just in front of the direction, where the Tracer was going.
"Whoa! That was close!"
Tracer managed to stop and looked at the high ground where Hanzo was. Hanzo looked to the side. Before he knew it, he could see the Kim, aiming away his rifle.
"I'm sorry, Mr. Hanzo."
"Dammit."
The training assistant evaluation equipment, that was on Hanzo's chest, the word 'dead' was flickering on. After waving to Tracer once, Kim quickly ran to the rear of the enemy side, and disappeared.
Hanzo couldn't believe the situation. Apparently, Echo was also by his side and came up together to infiltrate the enemy field when things were stabilized. Where the hell was Echo doing? There was no word about she was going anywhere.
The answer was right next to him. Looking in the opposite direction, that where Kim disappeared, Echo was also sitting with her chin support, with a dissatisfied face, and also a flickering device that shows the word, 'dead' on her chest.
"When did he come all the way here?"
"Didn't you see Kim's running skills in person, Hanzo? But still, I didn't even expect this much."
Baptiste and Lùcio were preparing to treat their allies' health, with their own Biotic Launcher and sonic amplifier.
"Wait, why are there enemy snipers still alive?"
Baptiste peered out over the cover, and found Ana in the distance, sitting on the high ground.
"Huh? I thought Hanzo and Echo went up to stop the long-range attack."
Lùcio also said, just like Batiste, with checking the situation ahead.
"Hey! I understand why you guys were hiding in there, but I'd like you to come here and help me a little bit!"
Zarya, who was struggling to maintain the front line in front of her, shouted. The two were ready to run towards, with avoiding the long-range sniping.
"You ready, Lù?"
However, Baptiste could only speak up to that point. Both of them felt a stinging pain behind their backs and near their temples.
"Ow! What the?"
Lùcio grabbed the temple and turned around, and he saw Kim was approaching, with his gun pointed at the two.
"Sorry, fellas, I didn't mean to hit there first."
Kim said in a small voice as he passed the two.
"Kim? Already? When did you come all the way here?"
Kim smiled at Baptiste once, and made his way to the other heroes, waiting in front of him.
"Dear Lord. I knew he could run so fast, but I didn't even expect about his strategy about the rear infiltration..."
Lùcio said as he couldn't believe it, with watching Kim, who was dealt with Cassidy in the middle of a reloading, using his M15 revolver, loaded with training bullets.
[Bam!]
Reinhardt was opening up his barrier field, and blocking a fusion cannon from 's mech, when he felt someone hit him in the back of the head.
"Huh?"
As he looked back, Kim was holding his rifle, and smiled at Reinhardt.
"I'm sorry, Mr. Reinhardt, it's a little bit too close-range, to use a firearm to you."
Reinhardt saw the red letters flickering, on the device on his chest.
"Huh, Kim. How did you get here, before we even noticed? Nobody saw the enemy was penetrated to the rear."
"Uh, I don't mean to be a brag, but all five persons that I've met on the way here, are said the same thing."
As soon as Kim answered, Zarya approached and grabbed the back of his shirt, and lifted it vigorously.
"Game over, Kim."
"Argh! Come on, Ms. Zariya! Go easy!"
When the belt and suspender suddenly tightened to his chest and neck, Kim said, as if he were suffocating. The judgment device on Kim's chest also showed the word 'dead'.
"Kim, what did you do in the last round? You eliminate the six of them, by yourself? Half of the other team?"
After the round ends, Ana said, as she resumed the strategy meeting. Kim turned his eyes, rubbing his back of the neck, as if he was awkward. Then, he found Kiriko, with some of her shrine maide skirt got covered with some dirt, then asked her.
"You okay? What happened? How did the things happened, seeing you covered in dirt?"
"Got ambushed by Winston. I could've avoided it if I had seen him first, but I didn't even have time to react, because of the sudden surprise from above."
"Huh, I thought you'd be small and fast, so they wouldn't catch you that easily."
"Are you trying to joke on me?"
"Absolutely not. There's nothing good about just big and bad, just like me. It's only be a large target whether the field is wide or narrow."
"Hmph."
Kim thought about it for a moment and then said.
"Then, Kiri, how about this? I'll slow down a little bit this time, so why don't you try to break through the enemy line with me?"
"Only you and me, are going to go through the enemy line? I think it's suicidal."
"It would be like that, if only the two of us are in. We have to get a few other allies together and try."
"Well said, Kim, I was just going to tell you boys and girls about that strategy."
Ana said, as she brought the teammates together, again, in front of the map.
"Kim, I know you're so, so damn fast, but now, the enemies must have understood your ability about shock and awe. So, if you run in like that on your own again, you'll probably get half of the opponent team's fire, instead of catching half of the opponent team. You predict that easily, are you?"
"Of course, it is, Second Commander, ma'am."
"That's a relief. You know how to be self-reliant. They're probably very wary of our attack, through the current roundabout. That means they're simultaneously defending the front line and defending the rear. In a way, the difficulty of targeting the front line could be slightly lowered, but at the same time, it's going to be very disadvantageous for penetration and internal cleanup tactics."
Ana explained by drawing a mark in the map.
"Kim, Kiriko, Venture, Genji, Tracer. Five of you, look for weaknesses of their front line, that will be able to break through as soon as the round begins. I did not mean to rush in. If you just rush in, without even looking, five of you will be dead, as a waste of manpower for us. And if you boys find a breakthrough, maximize your quick mobility. Your goal is not the enemy neutralize, or secure point, or destroy enemy structure. Well, it would be nice if you could pursue that if possible, but your goal is to distract and lure the enemy from the line. Whether move around with together or be scattered, it's all you boy's choice, but don't be too much scattered. Run hard will be enough, so they can distract for a while from the line."
Kim, Tracer, Kiriko, Genji, and Venture nodded.
"Sojourn, Mei, Pharah, . You girls will be dealt with the frontline. Brigitte, Torbjorn. You two are both on frontline and our current team's area defend. And... Mercy. It may be a little overwhelming, but for those who hold out on the front lines, quick healing is the only answer. I'll help too, but still do your best."
Mercy shrugged once, as there is nothing else she can improve.
[Round commences in 30 seconds. All heroes, stand by.]
As Athena's broadcast rang out, Kim spoke to Genji, who was right next to him.
"Hey, Genji, if I run into your brother, um..."
"Don't worry about that. I'll deal with my brother."
He cannot see the Genji's face, hidden in the mask, but it seemed that there was an unknown excitement in his voice.
"So, how are you going to divide the number of people? Do you think it's okay for the five of us to get together?"
Tracer looked into the chronal accelerator, and said.
"If the five of us get together, of course, we're going to be a large target in the shooting range... So, we have to set our own strategies."
Kim looked back at the other four and said.
"Ms. Venture, I have heard that if you burrow yourself in the ground, no one can even touch you, is that right?"
"Well, the most part is, yes."
"Then, Ms. Venture, use that burrow skill to break through the front line. Join us in there."
"Sounds good for me!"
"Tracer, Genji. You both have similar mobility as me, but I think they're better than I in such thing as duck-and-cover and evasive maneuvers. Which one is more likely to succeed, breaking through the frontline together, or separate as each two of us?"
"Take well care of Kiriko, Kim. She looks strong, but she's a fragile child inside."
"Hey, Genji! You serious?"
Genji immediately understood Kim's words and answered, and Kiriko answered to Genji, as she was getting fume.
"Yeah, that's a good strategy. No matter how old-fashioned your gun is, it's a bit disturbing to separate a group for only firearms, and only cold weapons."
Tracer also immediately understood his thinking, and spoke.
[10 seconds.]
"Now, let's get ready!"
Kim clasped his rifle tightly. Then, he said, as looking back at Kiriko.
"Stay behind me, Kiriko. I'm trusting you."
"Hold on your worries. As long as I cover your behind, we can get through anything!"
[Round start!]
As soon as Athena's signal fell, they all made their own battle cries again, and moved forward.
Zarya found a 5.56mm paint bullet and an unedged training Kunai, were both flying legitimately to her right in front. However, there was nothing she could do. She has a very strong muscle and is also among the top in Overwatch, but she does not have a superpower, to avoid bullets.
"Ouch! Блять! (Dammit!)"
Zarya roughly wiped off the paint on her face, with hands. The attackers were already gone, except for the words 'dead' of the training equipment on the chest, blinking as like teasing her. She could only see a few shells that fell on the ground, and a few blue ofudas, that were gradually fading.
"Zarya! What the hell was that all?"
Cassidy said, as he removed the training Kunai that tangled in his cloak, which didn't hurt him because the blade was not sharp. Zarya also could clearly see the marks of three white paint bullets on his chest.
"Oh, the Christ! I was keeping my eyes on Kim, who is destroying our side by alone, and now he's wondering in here, freely, even with someone else."
Kim and Kiriko had the best chemistry on the battlefield. Although both were insanely fast, Kiriko could freely climb walls and columns to distract the opposing team, and Kim filled Kiriko's limited Kunai attack, with a rifle and a revolver. The combination of Kunai, a powerful short-range specialized attack, and assault rifle, which were advantageous for forming fire curtain and medium/long-range combat, was no joke as everyone could predict.
These collaborating two, made it impossible for the others to get their act together. During that time, Kim quickly neutralized healers, just like Baptiste and Lùcio, while Kiriko constantly running around and distracted them. And if she got surround, and almost in danger, she quickly escaped to Kim who was at nearby, using the swift step. Then those two were the only headaches, it wasn't.
Venture keep doing a surprise attack by popping out from unexpected grounds, and Tracer and Genji were also not behind in quickness, so the Soldier:76's team was not at the good mode at the battle.
In front of the two, Kim and Kiriko, there was a capture point that owned by the enemy team. If they preoccupy the point, they could finish the round right away, without have to struggle about completely annihilate the enemies. The two ran toward the point, without saying anything.
[Pause the round. Pause the round. Every hero, put down your weapons.]
Athena's broadcast resonated throughout the training ground. All the heroes, who were fighting in each other's position, were puzzled and stopped the hostile act.
"What? Why all of a sudden? We were almost winning!"
Kiriko said as if she was wondering. Kim also looked at Kiriko's face, couldn't understand what this situation is.
[Captain Chase, please come to the central conference room. An urgent message has arrived.]
Sojourn ran into the building with a surprised look on her face. Kim looked at other heroes, puzzled by the situation that he never experienced.
"Well, that's it for today's simulation battle. Everyone, do the safety check, and return to base!"
Soldier:76 shouted. Kim lamented as if he was sorry, but he removed the magazine, and pulled the charging handle to empty the chamber.
"That was amazing, Kim. I haven't seen anyone fight as actively as you. I was always relieved when I had a fight with Genji and Hanzo in my side, but I've never had an impressive work just like today!"
"I'd appreciate it if you said that, Kiri. You did quite well, too. Hell. If I could take you to Vietnam as a colleague, maybe we would have won."
Sergeant Kim entered the base, cheerfully giggling with Kiriko.
[Central conference room. 15:00 P.M.]
Vivian Chase, along with Ana, Jack, Torbjorn, and Reinhardt, was looking into the urgent message that came to her. It was a call from colleagues in her home country, who were still managing the unrecovered area that occupied by Null Sector, in northern Toronto, Canada.
In the video attached to the message, there were a lot of bullets, bombs, and missiles flying around, and humans and omnics were constantly destroying and killing each other could see in all directions without specific rules.
[It's only observed around Lake Simcoe in the northwest, but it's slowly moving south to Toronto now. Not only is this chaos the first time it's happened, but it's completely wrong. Yes, it's definitely something wrong! Not only the fact that they're all fought without any identification between ally and enemy, but also, it's the first time that the even Null Sector Omnics are pointing their guns at each other!]
A voice sent by one of Vivian's colleagues attached to the video resonated in the conference room. The voice was full of fear of origin unknown.
Ana, Jack, Torbjorn, and Reinhardt felt a sense of fear rising from the depths of their bodies as they saw the collective bizarre behavior of the Null sector and humans, that they had never experienced before. Vivian was also feeling the same, but she thought that if she let go of her mind too, it would interfere with everyone's understanding of the situation, so, somehow, she was trying to keep her mind intact.
"According to my colleague, it was filmed just yesterday. It's happening in real time in Toronto right now."
As soon as Vivian finished, Torbjorn said, as he is looking incredulously at the sight of Omnics indiscriminately attacking each other.
"I've seen Omnics are antagonizing each other and also fights, too, but... Now they're slaughtering every visible individual, without any identification. It doesn't look like they were not forming any groups, but only on its own. I've never seen anything like this."
Reinhardt added, pointing to the corner of the screen.
"Everyone, look at this. How does this even possible?"
They discovered one more dreadful scene that they had not discovered yet. A human and a human-shape omnic individual, were fighting each other on the ground, both of their waist part was severely cut off, and pouring out their guts and greases. The human was constantly breaking and hitting the omnic with a club, as omnic poked both of the human eyes with its fingers, and the human, who seemed to show no pain at all, despite the loss of both eyes, was constantly hitting the omnic down. The camera's angle shifted the next moment and the images of the two were no longer visible, but it was enough to make everyone who was watching the video speechless.
"So, what should we do from now on?"
Torbjorn broke the heavy silence of the conference room, and opened his mouth first.
"Of course, we have to go to Toronto! Innocent citizens... I mean, the human civilians and free omnic citizens are in danger!"
Ana said, but Jack also said, as grabbing Ana's shoulder behind her.
"Is there any guarantee that we could win?"
"Jack, the shock of Reyes betrayed and leaving us was big enough, and you're no longer in Overwatch too, but weren't we Overwatch once before? Keeping peace and orders around the world?"
Ana said, carefully pulling back Jack's hand.
"Innocent lives are in danger. And, to add to the private realm, Vivian's colleagues are in danger! I can't just sit idle and watch the situation. By the way, Vivian. You're definitely going back to Toronto, right?"
"No need to say twice. I'm in a hurry, even if there's everything ready to go."
"Torbiorn, Reinhardt. What about you two?"
Vivian and Ana looked at the other two. Reinhardt stroked his left eye, which was deeply scarred, and then said.
"For the Lord's name, the knight doesn't let go of the suffering of the good in need. Captain Chase, if you lead the way, I'll be glad to support you."
Torbjorn was hesitating.
"I may be right to help, but... But now it's a new situation that far exceeds our experience and existing knowledge. Of course, as our former Overwatch motto states, we're willing to give our lives to protect world peace and order, but can we really solve it if we actually go there? If we did make out any progress on the situation, then that's not gonna be a problem, but what if it's just a meaningless adding of dead bodies?"
"And, what about the other heroes' intentions? Will everyone else will agree about this operation?"
After Torbjorn's words, Jack added. Ana and Chase couldn't overlook that point either. Jack and Torbjorn's words also have a point. Since no one had all the authority to make decisions, their worries deepened. However, the concern was a concern, and the ongoing incident could not be stopped. Ana raised her head as if she had decided, and said to Vivian.
"Chase, go pack your bags and get ready to depart right away. Reinhardt, if you want to accompany by us, then ready yours, too. Jack, Torbjorn. You two, well, if you don't want to come with us, we'll understand. It's up to you."
"What, are you three only going?"
"Of course not, Torbjorn. I'll ask other agents, too. I'll give them a choice, too."
Ana, Vivian, and Reinhardt scrambled out of the conference room.
"…. So, this is the current situation."
Ana told all the heroes, showing the real-time situation in Toronto on the biggest screen in the lounge. Everyone watched the Canadian cities were burned down one by one, without saying a word. For the Vivian Chase, aka Sojourn, especially, it was even more uncomfortable to see the scene, because it was her motherland.
"Chase here and I, and Reinhardt, have agreed to depart for Canada at this moment. You can guess the reason for calling all of you up to this point, right?"
Everyone looked at each other with worried eyes.
"I won't give any charge for this to anyone, no matter if you peoples didn't join or not. What's happening now, is a new type of crisis that has never been confirmed, just like when we first experienced the Omnic crisis."
Ana said as she turned off the screen.
"So, which hero is here, that wants to help solve the situation in Canada?"
Ana asked. However, everyone in the lobby was just looking at each other's eyes and rolling their eyes, and they didn't even try to step up and raise their hands or open their mouths carelessly. Ana and Sojourn started to get complicated in their head. They certainly didn't think about that this reaction wouldn't come out, but everyone was so hesitant. It was a natural outcome considering the seriousness of the situation, but the biggest challenge was, how to get rid of this vagueness.
"Is there any seat still available, Second Commander?"
Everyone looked back as the wild voice heard, Odessa Stone, the Junker Queen and Jamison Fawkes, the Junkrat, who had already departed this morning to return to Australia, were walking into the lounge with their luggage in their back.
"Stone! And Junkrat. How did you get back?"
"Winston sent us a little bit of information. Well, it's a new type of crisis. Well, and also, I love breaking Omnics so much."
"(beeps that contain meaning of nervous)"
"If you keep coming out like that, I'll rip off your parts and turn them into my spoils, Bastion! And, of course, I brought Fawkes here too, because I thought he'd love the opportunity to burst his explosives. And, I thought it might help a little bit."
"Absolutely true, Your Majesty!"
Ana smiled at the Junker Queen brightly, for the first time. For Sojourn, it was true that they were having obscure origin, and are uncomfortable group of fellas, but she was just so grateful for her willingness to offer a helping hand in this situation.
"Then I'll join, too! The team members are going into such a dangerous place, and it's absurd that there's no one to support them!"
Batiste said, raising his hand.
"I'm in, too. It's an opportunity to break down Omnics. It's a great opportunity."
Zarya also said, raising her heavy muscle arm.
"I was actually going to join from the beginning!"
Tracer also returned to her unique, lively voice and raised her hand.
Everyone gave their reasons and raised their hands to express their intention to participate.
"Well, for now… Everyone's going, and I can't be the only one who's gonna left here."
Winston, who was checking something in the lab, also said, while leaned on the doorway.
"Well, with this number of people, at least it's worth to make a bet, though. All right! Ana, forget what I said earlier. I'll join."
Torbjorn stomped vigorously, and said. Ana looked at Soldier:76, who was standing right next to her, as well as Torbjorn. Soldier:76, too, nodded his consent with an expression of "here goes nothing".
Everyone in the lobby was raising their hands to signal their participation. But Ana signaled to only one of them to stop.
"Thank you for your strong wills, but you can't, Kim."
"Sorry, Second Commander, ma'am?"
"Yes, you've heard it right. I understand that your abilities can produce a lot of results if you join forces with our Overwatch heroes, but you'd better stay here. It's too dangerous for you."
"But, ma'am..."
"Stop. You and I are both from the military, so you are well aware of this one thing. The duty of a soldier, is to preserve peace and order, but to obey orders from superiors, unconditionally, too. Don't complain anymore, Kim. Above all, you know well even to yourself because everyone has spoken so tirelessly, that you are the one who is now deviated from the timeline. No one would know how the time in the complex relationship between the past, the present, and the future of time and space, will lose its balance, just because of your one single act. This is the first time everyone has experienced this so badly that your help is also desperately needed, but I don't think you should be included in this."
Kim dropped his arms and head weakly. Hana and Kiriko put their hands on his shoulder, and calm him down.
"Uh, Captain Ana, ma'am? And Captain Chase? Would you both like to come over here for a moment? I know it's an urgent situation right now, but I think you must check this one out."
Winston spoke of a subject that had been unable to bring up, because Ana was kept talking.
[At around 17:00 P.M., the central lobby]
The central lobby was filled with each hero's battle gear and simple luggage. Everyone was checking to see if they had forgotten anything, or if they had taken anything more than necessary.
"Hmm. Combat preparation is no different from the past or the future."
Kim said as he was uncomfortable just standing still, so, helping others carry their luggage.
"Then, what happens to you now?"
Hana asked Kim, who was moving her luggage together.
"I don't know, but maybe I'll have to stay here until you guys solve the problem in Toronto, no, rather than that, until there's a way I can get back to my original time zone, I guess?"
"Then... Is this the last time we can talk like this?"
Everyone around them paused for a moment. Kim himself remembered a burden that he had forgotten, by hears Hana's saying. Didn't know when it would be, but one day, he had to leave this time and go back to the 1980s, when he was come.
"Well, we can't judge the current situation carelessly."
Kim said, holding hands with Hana.
"Still, I had a great time thanks to you. I could see how the future would become, and I could learn many interesting things."
"What about me?"
Cassidy said, as he is putting his hand on Kim's shoulder.
"You forget about me, too."
Genji also joined. Other heroes, that did not need to mention all the names, smiled at Kim, and expressed, sorry.
"Everyone..."
"Hey! I'm sorry to break the good mood! But Kim! Hurry up and come in here! Quick!"
Chase burst open the conference room door and shouted. Although it was a little dazed, Kim ran through the others to the conference room.
"What you're seeing right now, is a Null Sector's dive vessel, that found two days ago in Hudson Bay, North America."
Ana explained the video on the screen. A huge dive vessel was seen that seemed appropriate to describe as did a crash landing on the coast, and Canadian and U.S. troops were seen moving around, in order to organize and control the scene. Dead Omnics from the ship, were scattered everywhere on the coast, and the same body fragments were constantly being collected from the destroyed ship.
"Uh, may I ask why you're showing me this video, Second Commander, ma'am?"
"Because I think this Null Sector ship is related to something you might know. Kim."
Instead of Ana, Jack Morrison opened his mouth.
"You've heard about Null Sector while you're here, right? Well, then you're well aware of their technology. In fact, no one in the world has attacked their ship directly. No, anyone couldn't. They're hiding everywhere in the world, and wandering in secret. That's how bad those ships are, unless they have the goal of suicide attacks, they're never self-inflicted in a ridiculous place. But, that ship ran aground on Hudson's Bay beach, in that state, by itself."
Kim looked more carefully at the destroyed ship. When Jack pressed the remote, the screen switched, and this time, a world map that red lines were drawn everywhere, appeared.
"This is their trajectory from about a month ago to before the crash two days ago, based on intelligence from the Pentagon's surveillance satellite, and records that found out from inside the destroyed Null Sector ship. You can see that they mostly stayed in the South China Sea, off the Indochina Peninsula a month ago, then crossed the Pacific Ocean two weeks ago, passed the Arctic Ocean, and into Hudson Bay."
Jack then continued, pointing his hand at a spot in the South China Sea.
"And this is the point we're paying attention to. About 300 miles off the coast of Nha Trang, Vietnam. This is the point where the Null Sector ship comes to a halt in the middle of the course of their continuous movement, and then stays for a week."
Kim was following the explanation of Soldier:76, but he couldn't figure out what this had related with him.
"So, let me ask you one thing, Kim. Have you ever heard the name, 'Proud Sophie' before?"
Kim slowly reflected on his memory. Somewhere, it's a name that he's heard before.
"Oh, right. It's a Navy freighter ship. Not that long ago... I mean, in my time zone, it was a month ago, maybe in middle of October 1986? I heard that cargo ship was got sunk off the coast of Nha Trang. Some of the inland troops were there to help out with the scene. And some of the soldiers in my unit also complained that they were on that exact ship, on their way to the U.S. mainland, and complains to me that they were really at the brink of their death, later."
He said so, then get hardened. That must be the place where the Proud Sophie sank, off the South China Sea, off Nha Trang, where Null Sector ship stayed. He didn't know exactly where it was, but given that map and Commander Jack took out the ship's name, that would have been where the Proud Sophie sank. But aside from everything, bringing him, and asking questions about these situations has something to do with the things that happening right now.
"Is… I mean, what's going on in Canada right now, is it related to that Proud Sophie?"
Jack went on, rubbing his eyes once.
"We can't say for sure right now, either. But I must mention this one thing."
Jack held out a bundle of papers to Kim.
"This is a Top-Secret Pentagon document that we somehow managed to get. Don't worry about the security. It's written 90 years ago from now, not today's one."
"90 years ago, from now... Isn't it in the 1980s?"
"Yes, correct. It was written in your time. As you can see, the Proud Sophie that we just mentioned. Since it was sunk in the deep water off the South China Sea in October 1986, the ship itself and the location of the sinking, have been classified as Top Secret. But why? Are there any reasons about why should treat a ship that has already been destroyed and sunk deep into the sea, even hard to lift to surface again, and also, not something that can be used right away?"
Kim felt something unusual.
"Ana. What you said earlier. That Kim should stay here, I agree about the importance based on time theory, but I feel like we should take him this time."
Jack Morrison said, as he's closely watching the red dot in the middle of the South China Sea.
"The crisis in northern Toronto, the drift and stranding of Null Sector vessel, the cargo ships that sank during the Vietnam War 100 years ago, and classified as Top Secret even after they sink. What does that all related with?"
