Chapter 7
"All my stars! Its...its...WAHOO!" i cry as i step into the Doctor's Police Box. This funny Police Box of his contained a whole new different world! It was bigger on the inside!. "Its called the Tardis!" the Doctor informs me, "Time And Relative Dimension In Space!" Clara adds explaining the meaning of "Tardis", "Thank you Clara!" Doctor says to her quite proudly. She smiles and winks back to him.
"Anything else you wish to say?" the Doctor asks me noticing that i had gone quiet. I was just amazed and stunned by this new magical world hiding within a Police Box "Its a time machine, its beautiful! i tell him. "Oooo this one's clever!" I hear the Doctor say "What's that?" i ask him, "You knew immediately that this is a time machine, how did you know that?" he asks.
I look at him right in the eyes and tell him "Well how the outside is disguised at a 1960's British Phone Box and judging by the events i've seen today, its just a lucky guess!", the Doctor freezes while Clara looks at him then looks towards me in slience. I went on "I had a Magical School Bus that could double as a time machine! Oooooo i remember those days well!", "I'm sorry what?" Clara asks me.
"Well Clara, if the Doctor can have a time machine disguised as a 1960's Police Box, a time machine can be disguised as a School Bus!" i tell her with a smile, "Well actually its stuck like that! I have never found a way to fix that!" the Doctor says. I look over towards him who was standing at what looked like the main console. He was pressing buttons, pulling levers and looking at screens "Well now how about we get you home?" he asks me.
That was very kind of him but i knew i could get myself home hopefully! "Oh! Its no problem i've got my own mode of trans..." i tell him. "Nonsense! Think of this as a complimentary flight home!" the Doctor informs me, "Where abouts to do you live Valerie?" Clara asks. "I'm from a town called Walkerville located in Canada...Earth" i inform her.
"Then Walkerville, Canada here we come!" the Doctor shouts. Before i could change my mind he was pressing more buttons and levers on the Tardis's console. Then suddenly everything started vibrating and making wheezing sounds. I quickly want to grab on to something, a railing near a set of stairs the lead to the console area "Maybe you can tell me more about this Magical Bus on the way!" the Doctor asks, "Sure ok! I would love too!" i tell him.
As the Doctor piloted the Tardis, i told him and Clara about the Magic School Bus and how my sister and i built it. I told them then i would take kids on field trips to teach them about science and adventure back when i was an elementry school teacher. Clara looks at me stunned "How is that even possible?", i just smiled at her if i had a pair of earrings on they would be lighting up right now like they did when i use to teach. "So your a professor now?" Clara asks me, "Yes a Professor PHD!" i told her proudly "I felt it was time to retire and move on and try something new by becoming an independent researcher!".
"Now that sounds cool!" the Doctor shouts out loud "How about i go and make us some tea?" Clara asks sweetly. The Doctor immediately agrees to the idea while suggesting for jammie dodger to go with the tea, what ever they were!. Clara turns round and puts on a cheeky smile towards him "Just one?" she asks him "Oh ahhh maybe two please they are my favourite! Do you remember where the kitchen is?" he asks her, "Don't worry i'm sure i'll find it!" she says back.
I watch as Clara disappears down a corridor and the Doctor was continuing to fly the Tardis. I couldn't help but notice him constantly looking at me then look up towards a computer screen. "So, is Clara new to the Tardis too?" i ask him curiously, "Yes we only have just met" the Doctor tells me. They only just met but they seem like they have known each other for years!.
The Doctor continues to ask me questions "Tell me Valerie, tell me more of your background and family, you say you have a sister?", i simply tell him that yes i did inform him that i had a younger sister and her name was Fiona and that we are two peas in pod! But...". "Interesting! But what?" the Doctor mumbled, "Tea's ready!" Clara shouts as she comes back into the console room with a tray of tea cups, tea bags, a tea pot and a plate of cookies. Those must be the jammie dodgers that they were talking about.
After tea and cookies (biscuits Clara and The Doctor like to call them) and showing both the Doctor and Clara my magical transportation device "MMB aka Bike!" in which the Doctor was fansinated by "Magical MotorBike! Nice one!" he said as he complemented. The Doctor announced that we had arrived in Canada "Not long until you'll be home Valerie!" Clara tells me happily. "Oh thank you ever so much for the lift!" i say to the both of them with a smile, The Doctor smiled back "It was no trouble at all!.
We get on the outskirts of Walkerville and Clara asks where i live. The Doctor who was looking at me weirdly again was suddenly quiet. I walk up towards him to see what he was so interested about on the computer screen he had been obsessing about "What are you looking at?" i ask, "Ahhh nothing! Nothing at all! Right then how about we find you live! Which house is yours?" The Doctor asks me as he seemed to turn the screen off. I was concerned about the way he spoke as he sounded nervous.
He let me have a look at another screen which showed the Walkerville neighbourhood "Ohhh Walkerville! So nice to see you again! Look there's the school i use to teach at!" i cry as i watched the screen as we flew above. It wasn't long until we found ourselves in the residential part of Walkerville. Clara asked me which house was mine while i was giving the Doctor directions.
"There! Right there thats the one! The one with the lizard fountain!" i shout excitedly when i spotted my house. The Doctor jams on the breaks of the Tardis and plays with some handles and buttons once again as we felt ourselves land. Everything went slient before the Doctor cried out "We've arrived!", "Have, have we landed?" i ask, "Why don't you see for yourself?" he happily tells me.
I was super excited right now, i couldn't believe what was happening! Have we actually moved from an alien planet back to Earth?. I ran towards the Tardis's doors almost forgetting to take Bike with me who was in its true form parked at the edge of the stairs to the console. "Come along Bike!" i say as it woke up and moved towards me "I'm sorry what did you say?" The Doctor asks. "What? I said come long Bike? I was just asking it to come with me?" i tell the Doctor finding his question a bit strange.
"No, no i didn't mean, oh don't worry about it! I've just haven't heard that saying in a long time! I use to say it to an old friend a long time ago!" Doctor informs me "Oh..." i simply say before he cuts me off "Now then go on! Open the doors and you'll find that you are now home!" he says excitedly. As i look at him i was excited too, Clara who was standing beside him was smiling too.
"Ok here it goes!" i shout as i begin to open the Tardis's doors and to my absolute amazement! I was home!. The Tardis had been parked right in my front garden "I cannot believe this its so nice to be home!" i cry. Bike followed me out. I turned round to face the Tardis to thank The Doctor and Clara for returning me home safely. "What a pretty house!" Clara says "Why thank you Clara!" i say as i thanked her for her nice complement!.
"We should explore Canada while we're here Doctor!" Clara asks The Doctor while pulling his arm. The Doctor smiles "Why yes! I don't see why not! Wait till i take you to the Niagara Falls! Although they never use to be called Niagara Falls before i...", "Before you what?" Clara and i both ask him in concern. The Doctor quickly changes the subject "Ahhh so sorry we've got to dash! I've got to get Clara home too!", "Maybe one day i can be your tour guide when you go there, such a magnificent place!" I say to them.
"That sounds like fun! Goodbye Valerie lovely to meet you!" Clara says to me with a wave as she goes back into the Tardis "Same to you Clara! Goodbye not forever!" I answer back to her. The Doctor remained in the doorway and smiled, it was like he was examining me. "Goodbye Doctor, thank you for the lift!" i simply say to him shortly before he responded back "Goodbye Valerie, it will not be forever i would love to get to know you a bit more!".
I smiled and replied in agreement that we shall meet again soon. I watched as he went back into his Tardis and closed the door behind him. Wheezing sounds began coming from the Tardis and it began to disappear. Bike made a simple beep like it was saying goodbye, i smiled as i simply said "We shall meet again" ending with a giant "WAHOO!".
