Chapter 8 friendship and love

6 days since the shy girl squad victory

Naruto really wanted to do something special for Hinata on their next date he wanted to learn how to make Hinata's favorite sweet but he had no idea how to cook it. he was embarrassed to ask he didn't have the skills to cook but he wanted to show Hinata how much he valued her how he wants to make her happy.

" Having one mate is a full-time job, are you sure you still want Ingrid as well?" Kyubi asked him.

Naruto making sure there was no one around so they wouldn't think he's crazy spoke a softly As He could.

"My resolve hasn't changed I want to make them both happy how I'm going to do it I haven't figured it out yet." Naruto said putting his arms behind his head.

" Well, at the moment, you should focus on how to make Hinata happy. You've been thinking long and hard about how to make her favorite sweets. Why not ask someone who is good at making sweets?" Kyubi suggested.

"That's not a bad idea, actually. I was thinking of that, but how? I can't cook. I mean, I can't ask Hilda; she doesn't know how to cook sweets. I certainly can't ask Claude; he certainly doesn't know how to cook cinnamon rolls." Naruto was considering potential options.

" Why not that Mercedes woman? She's Hinata's friend after all, she hangs out with her almost on a regular basis. Almost as often as she does with that Marianne woman when she's not spending time with her mate." Kyubi said referring to the Black Eagles professor.

"Come on, you don't honestly think they're that close? They've only spoken for 9 days." Naruto said he heard a chuckle.

" You've spoken to this Ingrid woman for 3 months and your feelings are close to that of the Hyuga girl. You're not fooling anyone, kit. The question is how you're going to get Hinata to agree to share you with her. I still think you should stick to Hinata; she's been loyal to you her entire life." Kyubi said, trying to discourage Naruto's course of action regarding his wanting to satisfy Hinata and Ingrid's wanting to make them both happy.

"I really can't explain it. How can she be important to me as well? It doesn't make any sense, damn it." Naruto said in frustration.

" Don't think about it at the moment. Focus on the immediate task ahead of you: learning how to make cinnamon rolls for Hinata. That should be the only thing on your mind for now. The focus on Ingrid can wait." Kyubi advised.

Naruto went to where the Blue Lions were and was hoping Mercedes was alone or wasn't with Sasuke. He was happy to know that she was with Annette and Ashe; Sasuke must be busy sparring with Felix and Dimitri. This was good because Naruto could actually ask for help without looking like an idiot in front of Sasuke.

Mercedes and Ashe noticed Naruto approaching them, along with Annette.

"Hello Naruto," said Ashe politely.

"Hey, I was wondering. I know this is strange and out of the blue, but I could use some help. I wonder if... well, well." Naruto felt like an idiot. Annette and Mercedes are Hinata's friends; how is he going to explain this one without embarrassing himself?

"I was wondering, Mercedes San, if you could help me. No, I mean..." Naruto felt like a stuttering mess.

"Are you okay, Naruto?" Mercedes asked, concerned.

"Well, I was wondering if you can help me. I mean, stupid, I mean, can you teach me how to cook a cinnamon roll, Mercedes San?" Naruto asked respectfully.

"That's not a problem, Naruto. But why do you want me to teach you? Shouldn't you be asking Hina?" Mercedes asked obviously. Naruto picked up that she was referring to Hinata by her nickname.

"Yes, I just want to do something special for her. I feel like I would like to show her my appreciation by making her favorite sweet. But, I don't know how to make it, and since you're her friend." Naruto turned away embarrassed.

"Of course, Naruto. I love to help. Mercedes said with a smile, "Me and Ashe were about to go to the kitchen anyway, so we could both show you it's not a problem."

"Thank you, Mercedes San." Naruto said happily that she's willing to take the time to teach him.

"Anything to help an important person to Hina." Mercedes said.

Naruto went with her along with Ashe. Naruto was hoping he wouldn't do too badly, and hopefully it wouldn't take too many tries. Even if it took a lot of tries, though, he was determined to make the best cinnamon roll possible to bring a smile to Hinata's face.

Mercedes along with Ashe walked with Naruto to the kitchen, and they started getting to work. Making cinnamon rolls was easy for Mercedes; her mother had taught her how to make this sweet when she was a little girl, so it was easy to make.

"Okay Naruto in order to make this you must do everything that I'm telling you exactly."Mercedes explained.

"Okay, what's the first step?" Naruto asked.

"The first step is by making the dough first we'll make extras in case you make a mistake." Mercedes said she showed him how to make it and Naruto did exactly as she instructed it took time for him to get it right Mercedes was a patient teacher she didn't berate him when he made a mistake she calmly showed him what went wrong and he corrected his mistake it took a few tries but he got the first step right.

"Now the second step is warm milk and that mixture gets foamy, you'll start adding in the rest for the dough. While the dough rises, you'll make the filling for the cinnamon rolls. Then you'll roll the dough, assemble the cinnamon rolls, and then let them rise again"Mercedes said Naruto did exactly as she instructed he was very careful and he made sure to take his time to make sure to get everything right though he did screw up a few times he got it right when she was sure he was able to do it on his own he did everything again.

"One thing you should do when making food is always taste what you're making, so you know you're getting it right." Mercedes took a bite out of Naruto's cinnamon roll and spat it out.

"What happened?" Naruto asked, surprised. He did the same and grabbed a glass of water and gulped it.

"You put too much sugar, that's why I'm saying in the process you have to taste what you're making. Otherwise, you'll have to throw all of it away try again." Mercedes said patiently.

Naruto did exactly as she instructed. She was amazed at how determined he was. He took everything she said and tried it as he was making it. And when all was said and done, he offered her the cinnamon roll he made. She ate it; it was a lot better than the first time. There wasn't too much sugar, nor was there too little—just right.

Ashe tried it too and he was impressed.

"Not bad, Naruto. Most people can't make a cinnamon roll as well as you do, in the amount of tries you have. I can't even do it this good." Ashe said impressed.

"I still don't think it's as good as Mercedes San's. I mean, will Hinata Chan really like this?" Naruto asked.

Annette who was silent the whole time took a bite out of Naruto's cinnamon roll and compared it to Mercedes.

"I don't think it's as good as Mercie Naruto but I think Hina would love it because you made it with your own hands. if it's made with love she will know that." Annette said smiling Mercedes doing the same agreeing with her.

"Really she could really feel what I put into this?"asked Naruto in disbelief.

"Of course Naruto when we put all of our heart and soul into something when it's someone that we care about someone that's important to us they'll feel that. I was able to feel it Hina will love the cinnamon roll that you have made because you made it. she'll be happy when you give this to her I know she will that should be can I ask you a question if you don't mind me asking?" asked Mercedes.

" Of course Mercedes San ."Naruto said.

"I don't want to pry, but is it true that you have feelings for Ingrid as well?" Mercedes asked generally, wanting to know. She wanted to know for herself if it was really true. Ingrid doesn't say much, but she knows Ingrid has strong feelings for Naruto and has had strong feelings for him since the very beginning—feelings that are similar to Hinata's. They are both her friends, and she doesn't want anyone to break their hearts, no matter who they are.

"It's complicated. I can be myself when I'm around her, just like Hinata. I want to make her happy, and I don't want to break either one of their hearts. What should I do, Mercedes?" Naruto asked her. She thought about it; what advice could she give to Naruto? It's complicated, she can see in Naruto's eyes that he does have feelings for two women. She doesn't want to be in that situation, and she doesn't want to see either one of their hearts broken. Though she has to say something as their friend, she knows it's a delicate matter.

"The only thing I can say, Naruto, is be honest with them and tell them both how you feel. I can't tell you any more than that." Mercedes said.

" I could see why many people like you Mercedes San you're wise beyond your years and you're so kind I could see why Hinata Chan speaks very highly of you. I could certainly see why Sasuke likes you as well."Naruto said that last part teasingly which caused Mercedes to blush which wasn't unnoticed by Annette and Ashe.

"Well, we should clean up this mess that we've made." Ashe said.

"Of course, with my shadow clones, we'll clean up this mess very quickly." Naruto said as he created multiple duplications of himself that made short work of the mess Mercedes and her friends had made when she was teaching him how to make cinnamon rolls.

When they were done, Ashe couldn't help but speak.

"It's such a shame Naruto you're not in our class you would have fit right in with the Blue Lions." Ashe said smiling at Naruto.

"No I think the Blue Lions would have been chaos if I were there mean Sasuke and I would fight a lot and well dealing with the banshee would be hell for me. I think I'm good too bad I feel bad for all of you."Naruto said referring to Sakura.

"She's a bitch." said Annette not hiding her dislike of her.

"I asked for help one time and she was rude to me for no reason. How did you deal with her, Naruto?" Asked Ashe as they were walking to the cafeteria where dinner was about to be served.

"Well that's a long story. Short version I was the class clown and I played the part of in hindsight it was a mistake." Naruto said thinking about the past.

"Naruto, is it true Sasuke Kun never liked anyone before?" Mercedes asked something that has been on her mind ever since they started talking.

"Sasuke was never interested in girls back home you have nothing to worry about Mercedes San as far as I'm concerned you have no competition." Naruto said with his mischievous smile.

She didn't know why she was happy. Knowing this, she shouldn't feel this way; Sasuke is her friend. Knowing that she has no competition for him made her feel better. She was confused about these feelings: what were they exactly?

"Thank you for helping me Mercedes San, it will definitely be helpful for my date. You've been a great help, same thing with you Ashe and Annette." Naruto thanked them and left.

"He would have been so much better than Sakura" said Ashe.

"Yes, but maybe the class would be a lot louder if they were both in the same class. So perhaps things worked out like the goddess intended." Mercedes said, thinking of how things could have easily been different had Sasuke chosen the Black Eagles instead of the Golden Deer. She put that thought aside, thinking it was useless. She was hungry and would sleep on it for now, focusing on her studies.

The next day

Hinata was in the dueling ring, practicing her clan techniques. Her usual training routine, which she prefers doing back at home, is not possible due to not having a spot where she can have privacy and not risk a peeping Tom spying on her. She was so focused on her training that she did not notice Ingrid entering the practice ring. Dorothea was also in the same room.

"Hinata, would you mind sparring with me?" asked Ingrid, hoping that she would say yes. She looked like she had something on her mind and wanted to do something to keep her mind off it. They had been sparring almost daily since she joined the Black Eagles. Ingrid kept Hinata on her toes, and she had to train twice as hard. They were both close in terms of strength to the point where the battles were around 50/50 on who won. Hinata won last time. Ingrid had to get stronger in order to protect Naruto and those that she cares about.

" I can use a sparring partner now, Ingrid San. Please don't hold back," Hinata said respectfully.

Ingrid grabbed her weapon of choice and went to her side of the arena. Hinata was getting ready to get to her fighting position.

"I would never do such a thing in my culture. It is disrespectful to hold back on your opponent. I will not hold back on you as long as you promise to do the same," Ingrid said. As a measure of respect, she got into her fighting position, ready to strike at any time.

"I appreciate that. Give me everything you have, because if you don't, I will knock you down. I defeated Dimitri-san in the mock battle. I will not hold back," Hinata said with confidence, something that she was unable to do until 9 days ago.

Byleth signaled for the match to start with a downward motion.

Hinata waited for Ingrid to make the first move. She couldn't take Ingrid lightly due to the amount of time her boyfriend lost in their sparring sessions. She was waiting for Ingrid to make the first move. Their fighting styles were completely opposite, and they were circling around the arena. Everyone was watching with interest, wondering who would make the first move. This was not like her other sparring sessions. Ingrid was clearly experienced; she was patient. But Hinata knew she couldn't just do the same thing she'd been doing indefinitely.

Ingrid, she was being very careful. Ingrid was about to strike at her right side of her lower abdomen. She was about to block, but she pulled back and moved her weapon to the opposite direction and hit her lower left thigh. Hinata resisted the urge to scream in pain. She wasn't pulling any punches. She pulled back to keep her distance, but Ingrid wouldn't relent. She tried to strike at her right side. Hinata countered with one of her techniques that she used against Dimitri.

"1.8 trigrams air Palm." Hinata launched an air out of her palm, which knocked her opponent back. She was off balance, enough for Hinata to strike at her stomach with her right palm. Ingrid was barely able to stand up. She was breathing heavily but smiling as if she was enjoying this match.

"Naruto was not exaggerating when he said you are strong. I can barely keep up with you," Ingrid said as she got into another fighting stance.

This time, she was a lot faster. If it weren't for Hinata's reaction time, she would not be able to keep up with Ingrid's increased speed. She wasn't holding back throughout the entire fight; she was gauging her skills. She was even faster, she was hit in the back; she was hit on her right arm and her left leg. When she asked her sparring partner not to hold back, Hinata did not take it into consideration that she had underestimated her opponent.

Before she can do anything, her professor signaled for the match to be over, declaring Ingrid the victor she had one for the third time in a row.

"Good match, but I can't have my students putting each other in the hospital. You both have done well. You're both extremely skilled. I actually had a difficult time deciding who was going to win this match. It was a very close call. Excellent," Byleth said, proud of both of them.

Hinata knew that if the fight had gone on longer, they both would have put themselves in the hospital. She didn't have this much trouble with Dimitri. Ingrid was strong.

"Damn, not even Naruto was able to give me this much of a workout," Ingrid said, laughing. Hinata did, too.

"You, too, could have severely hurt each other, and you're laughing?" Dorothea said, not understanding why Hinata and Ingrid were laughing.

"I'm sorry, Dorothea San. It's just me and Ingrid found something in common, and I didn't think I was stronger than Naruto Kun." Hinata said proudly of the progress that she has been making. Hinata couldn't help but notice something in Dorothea's eyes every time Naruto's name was mentioned. What was it exactly? No, she couldn't be jealous; that's ridiculous. They're just friends.

"You managed to give Hinata a good fight, Ingrid. With the both of you sparring with each other, Hinata will get stronger in no time. Naruto will have to train extra hard," remarked Edelgard, who was proud of Hinata's performance.

"Me being stronger than Naruto Kun is not something I thought would be possible," Hinata admitted out loud.

"That's because of your lack of confidence. I'm glad I was able to bring that out. Keep working on that, Hinata. At this rate, I'm going to have to train extra hard. I can't have my students surpassing me so soon, teaching you, can I?" her professor said, his attempt at telling a joke, but it didn't land well.

" I think he was trying to tell a joke," said Dorothea.

"Well, it was terrible," said Ferdinand, trying not to be disrespectful.

"Please don't talk about him like that," said Marianne defensively, which was evident to Hinata that her friend had a crush on her professor; she knew that the first day Byleth was at the academy.

"It's okay, Mari. I do got to work on these emotions of mine. I take no offense," he said, trying to smile.

"Okay, if you're okay with it, then I am too," Marianne said, apologizing to Ferdinand for her outburst earlier.

"I'm going to need to redouble my efforts if I'm going to keep up with you. You're strong, Hinata," Ingrid said, smiling.

"Well, I'm glad you're both getting along. It would be difficult if we weren't all friends," said Dorothea, who was happy that Hinata and Ingrid were getting along.

"Well we both have one thing in common we have someone amazing inspiring us we both have to train to get stronger so we can protect him."Ingrid said not realizing she was talking about Naruto.

"One of these days, Hinata, I would like to spar with you. Witnessing how you fight, your spirit is strong. There's no way, as I am now, I would even present a challenge to you. I will need to train so one day I can be worthy," Petra said with admiration of Hinata's skills.

"I think you would still make a good sparring partner. Now you don't have to wait if you don't want to, Petra," San Hinata said. Petra shook her head in disagreement.

"I appreciate the offer Hinata I really do but I don't feel like I'm ready yet I'm nowhere near strong enough until I'm strong enough to be a proper challenge to you I'm more content with just being your friend if that's okay with you?" Petra politely declined but she was willing to be her friend.

"you know, Hinata, you have a knack for making friends easily with the girls here; how do you do it?" asked Dorothea, who was curious Ingrid was as well.

"I don't know; it's just easier for me to be friends with girls than boys," Hinata answered.

"Well, I don't know about you, but I'm hungry; let's go to the cafeteria and grab something to eat," said Ingrid.

"I wonder what they're serving today?" Ingrid said out loud.

"Speaking of which, where is Benedetta Chan?" asked Hinata, wondering where her friend was.

"I'm sorry, I'm right here," Benedetta said as she showed up from behind.

"Did you see our match?" Ingrid asked.

"it was scary. Honestly, I hope you're not hurt too badly, Hinata." Benedetta asked concerned.

"I'm fine. I'm hurt in some areas of my body, other than that I feel fine," Hinata answered reassuringly.

"I hope I never get on your bad side. I'm sorry, Hinata, you can be pretty scary when you're fighting sometimes." Benedetta in a way that did not offend Hinata.

"It's fine. I was so into the moment that I forgot myself," Hinata replied softly.

The new professor has made us stronger in a short amount of time. "I don't recognize the person I was 9 days ago," Bernadette said. Hinata couldn't help but agree. Her confidence, along with her friend, was night and day. Even Marianne had shown more confidence, though Marianne had spent a lot of time with Byleth when they weren't in classes. It was none of her business what her friend did, but she couldn't help but see herself in Marianne because she was there herself at one point.

The group headed to the cafeteria. Her stomach was growing along with the other members of her group.

At the same time with Naruto with his golden deer classmates

Naruto was nervous about tomorrow's date with Hinata it had to be perfect the previous day he asked Mercedes, to help him make cinnamon rolls and how to properly make them now he was working on the necklace that Hilda showed him how to make. Hilda, was watching his Naruto, was doing exactly what she instructed she was more patient than Naruto expected she would be Ino, was with her too along with Leonie. He appreciated them helping him though he felt it was a little excessive.

"No offense, Naruto, you are terrible at this," said Hilda when Naruto failed for the fifth time.

"I'm sorry, Hilda, I just want to make this perfect, and I just I'm sorry. It does not look as good as how you would have done it, but I can't have you make my girlfriend's necklace for me; it has to be made with my own hands."Naruto said apologetically to his classmate for spending so much of her time with him making this damn thing that he's been working on for almost a week.

"Naruto, I'm pretty sure Hinata will appreciate it regardless; it doesn't matter how it looks; it matters that you have made it yourself," Leonie said, disagreeing with Hilda.

"She's not wrong; it's ugly damn it," Naruto said in frustration.

"Naruto, it doesn't have to be perfect; what matters is that it's made with love and care because that's what Hinata will see, that's what she will feel. I may think it's terrible, but it's not up to me to decide; it's up to her." Hilda said encouragingly despite her thinking it was ugly.

"I know it's just I want to show her how much she means to me," Naruto said, thinking about Hinata and all the things that she had done for him; he wanted to show her and make up for her, not giving her the attention that she deserved.

"Be careful, Naruto; you may end up ruining this necklace that you've worked so hard to build. I think you should stop. I think this is the best it will look on short notice." said Leonie supportively.

Naruto looked at the necklace; it was ugly in his eyes. Hinata did not deserve such a hideous thing on her neck, only the best.

"Y ou should really listen to your friends in the golden deer kit; they are right; she will love this because it comes from you, and considering the circumstances, I think it's the best it's going to look it's best to stop and not waste all the hours that you worked on making it," Kyubi said to Naruto advising him to stop.

"I was wondering where you are all at, oh," said Raphael, who looked at the necklace Naruto made. Naruto was embarrassed.

"Is that a necklace, Naruto?" Raphael asked his friend.

"Yes, Raphael, it's for Hinata Chan," Naruto answered.

"Can you tell him that the necklace is fine, please?" Hilda asked Raphael to try to reassure him.

"Well, it looks fine to me. I don't see the big deal."Raphael said.

"Hinata Chan only deserves the best, but you think it looks good, Raphael?" Naruto asked his friend.

"you worry too much, Naruto. I could tell you put everything into that necklace; when you do it for someone you love, they will notice it."Raphael said. Naruto then blanks when he heard the word love.

"Are you all right, Naruto?" asked Raphael.

"I'm fine," Naruto said, trying to avoid the question.

"if you say so," Raphael said, not believing it.

"I've got to put this somewhere safe in my room. I'll be back." Naruto said as he left the group.

Hilda knew immediately why Naruto acted the way he did when he heard the word love his mind when blank his expression changed.

"You noticed that too?" Ino asked Hilda.

"Yeah as soon as I said love Naruto his facial expression changed I don't understand why is that a big deal?"Raphael asked the group.

"Because he has never experienced the love of a mother or a father he's never actually known the difference between loving a sibling a friend or a parental figure." Ino answered.

"That's sad" Raphael said thinking about his own parents.

"That explains everything then why he was reluctant to approach Hinata he doesn't know the difference." Hilda said picking up on what Ino know said earlier.

"Then what about that thing with Ingrid then?" Ino asked everyone.

"No offense but I don't want to be involved with that situation whatsoever I'm staying away from that with a 6-ft pole. I'm not getting involved in anyone's love life no thanks." said Leonie said not wanting to get involved.

"I've been mean to ask you Hilda why haven't you and Marianne talked?" Ino asked her.

Before she could say anything Claude appeared she was grateful because she couldn't answer that question that her classmate had.

"Oh I missed it so disappointing I was hoping I would be able to give my own feedback to the necklace oh well." Claude said with a mischievous smile as if he was up to something.

"You better not do anything that ruins their date Claude." Hilda said annoyed she didn't want her friend to have her date ruined because of one of Claude's pranks.

"Oh I would never do that to Naruto I know a great romantic spot he can take her he's looking to make their date as perfect as possible well what better way than to recommend a romantic spot for them both to go? I'll be meeting him at his quarters." Claude said as he left.

Claude knocked on Naruto's door. It didn't take long for him to open; he was surprised to see Claude so soon.

"I hope you're not going to ask about the necklace. I'm kind of embarrassed by it," Naruto said, looking away.

"Actually, I'm not here about that. I'm actually want to show you a great spot where you can take your girlfriend tomorrow on your date. I promise you she'll love it. You'll thank me when I show you," Claude said with a genuine smile.

Naruto followed Claude to the destination. It was the tallest building in the entire monastery. They continued to go up the stairs, and it took them at least half an hour before they reached the top. Naruto was shocked at the view before him.

"Wow, such a beautiful sight!" Naruto exclaimed, looking at the scenery before him. The landscape, as far as the eye could see, was something Claude enjoyed looking at whenever he felt down or alone. It was a relaxing place for him, and it wouldn't be so secret after today, but Claude was okay with that because he wanted to help a friend.

" Hinata Chan would love this; it's beautiful, a perfect way to end our date tomorrow. Thank you, Claude. I appreciate this," Naruto genuinely meaning it.

" Well, anything to help a friend. I know how much she means to you, and I know you'll do anything for her. I figured that out as well, well, considering she's Hilda's friend," as Claude said it; Claude couldn't help but think what it would be like to have someone that would accept him for what he truly is.

" You look sad when you speak like that," Naruto Said, picking up on Claude's melancholic tone.

" I think you're imagining things," Claude said, denying what Naruto was saying

"I don't know about you, but I'm starving," said Naruto as his stomach growled.

" I agree I can use something to eat," Claude replied, agreeing with Naruto.

They went back the way they came. Claude couldn't help but wonder if his dream was obtainable or if it was a childish fantasy. He couldn't help but think that as they went to the cafeteria.

Ingrid couldn't help but notice the food that Hinata was eating. Everyone in her class was eyeing it too, and the weird way she was eating it using utensils that aren't used in her homeland.

"Whatever that is, it looks tasty," Ingrid said out loud, which caused her to blush when she realized that she was voicing what she was thinking out loud.

"Hinaa is an amazing cook. I've had her food before; she could run circles around these chefs in here; she makes them look like amateurs," Dorothea said, praising her cooking.

"You exaggerate, Dorothea San," Hinata said, trying her hardest not to blush at her praise.

As if aware of that, Ingrid's mouth was watering, just looking at the food. Hinata offered her some of what people from her homeland call Onigiri. She offered some to the other girls at the table, and they accepted.

"This is good. I don't know how anybody else makes it, but since you made it, it's amazing. Then again, anything you make is amazing, Hinata," said Marianne, who's had Hinata's cooking before.

"This is what I love about you, Hinaa. Everything I eat that comes from you is fantastic. I don't know what to expect, it's exciting. I look forward to eating what you make every time. You would make an excellent wife, "Dorothea said, not with jealousy but genuinely meaning it.

"It's a shame you have to import this. It's really good, better than most of the food that we have here," Bernadette said.

Ingrid took a bite out of her share. She had never had onigiri before; the texture was foreign, but not in a bad way. It tasted so good that she didn't want to eat it so soon; she wanted to savor it. All the girls were looking at her, then she turned away, embarrassed of how she was eating it.

"Wow," said Mercedes, surprised at how much she was enjoying the food Hinata had made, despite it not being the kind of food she normally eats.

"Reminds me of Naruto Kun and how he eats," Hinata remarked.

"Wait, what?" Ingrid asked, now blushing even more.

"Oh, you're so cute when you blush." Annette teased.

"I mean, I...," Ingrid said, stuttering. She never stuttered. Why was she doing that?

"You keep amazing me, Hina; right when I think your food couldn't get better, it does. I would never be able to cook this," said Annette, who was enjoying when Hinata made and the spices that it was on the side.

"Do you think you could teach me sometime? I mean." Mercedes was looking away; she knew exactly what she was thinking without her saying it.

"Not a problem, though. I will have to import the ingredients, but I can teach you," Hinata said with a friendly smile.

"We should seriously get you and Mercedes to cook together sometime. The both of you together would make the best food ever. No one would be able to resist your cooking." Ingrid suggested, which caused everyone to look at her in surprise.

" What, why is everyone giving me that look?" Ingrid asked, confused.

"I'm better at baking sweets, while Hina is better at cooking spicy food. I don't know if our cooking styles would be compatible," Mercedes said, but in a tone that did not outright shut down the idea.

"I don't agree with that, Mercie Chan. You're an amazing cook; you're selling yourself short." Hinata said, not agreeing with what Mercedes thought of her cooking.

"Well, I still think Hinata is amazing regardless of what you think, Hinata; I'd like to have your cooking more often. I mean, if that's okay," Ingrid said, turning away, not understanding what was wrong with her.

"I agree with Ingrid; you're cooking is amazing. Hinaa, you sell your cooking short. I can't get enough of it." Dorothea said, backing her up.

"Well, I would still like to have both of you cook at the same time. We can have an amazing feast," Annette said, insisting on what Ingrid said earlier.

"I'm pretty sure Sasuke, enjoys your cooking Mercedes, he empties his plate every time it doesn't waste anything that you make. You're amazing and Sasuke thinks so too." Annette said, which caused her to blush. It was no secret that Mercedes was crushing hard on Sasuke; everyone knew that who paid attention. Ingrid thought it was cute and was rooting for her friend and former classmate.

"I wonder if I could ever be a good enough cook for, "Marianne couldn't finish as the professor from the Black Eagles passed by them.

"you left this, Mari," Byleth said, handing Marianne her book that she left, which caused her to turn away in be embarrassed by leaving such an essential object in the classroom.

"Thank you, Byl," Marianne said gratefully.

"Not a problem," Byleth said, turning away, obviously hiding his blushing face.

Before anything could be said, Marianne left the table, following him doing what they'd been doing since he arrived going to The Stables.

"Am I imagining things, or does he have a crush on Marianne?" asked Dorothea, who thought it was cute.

"Well, it's none of our business, no thank you, I'm not getting involved in anyone's love lives," said Ingrid, not wanting to elaborate.

"it was obvious he had a crush on her from the start. I mean his eyes, how they light up every time she speaks to or looks at him. That girl has her fingers wrapped around him, and he doesn't even know it. She could do whatever she wants to him if she wishes," Dorothea said, not caring how it came off

"Are you serious? Is that really appropriate?" Annette asked.

"Well I don't think there's anything wrong as long as he doesn't take advantage of her." Benedetta said.

"I wish I had the courage Marianne Chan has when I was 12." Hinata said quietly. this surprised Ingrid why did she wish that?

"Well, if he does anything to hurt her, we could always call Hilda to enact retribution," Hinata said in a protective tone. Everyone was protective of Marianne to some degree, and Ingrid could see why, considering what the girl has gone through.

"I don't think he's the kind of person that would do that," said Edelgard, who was silent throughout the entire conversation.

"What makes you say that?" asked Mercedes, who was curious.

"The way he encouraged her in the mock battle, the way he lifted her up. Him believing in her stronger than anyone. I can't explain it, but I don't see Byleth Eisner being that kind of person, especially the kind of person that is his father. I think Marianne is safe, though. If he does do something to hurt her, I will join you in retribution. You can count on that," Edelgard said in a colder tone, actually meaning to carry on with the threat.

"well, how about let's just enjoy what's left of our lunch." Annette is trying to lift the tense atmosphere.

"I agree this food isn't going to eat itself," Ingrid said, resuming eating her food before eating what Hinata made.

One day, she would have a heart-to-heart about their feelings about Naruto, but for now, her primary focus was enjoying being with her friends and the woman that Ingrid knows Naruto loves deeply.

Naruto was getting looks from everyone in his class, along with those outside of his class, over the food that we had on the table. It was far more appealing compared to what everyone else was eating, causing everyone to look at his food with interest, except his peers from Konoha. Raphael looked at Naruto's food with interest. This was the last thing he expected. He did not expect this many people to be interested in the food that he was eating.

" Naruto, if you don't mind me asking, what is that that you're eating?" asked Raphael, who was interested in what Naruto was consuming.

"It's what we call Onigiri. It's quite common where I'm from. I know from your perspective it looks like something that's out of this world, but for me, this was natural. I don't eat it often except when Hinata Chan makes it. She's an amazing cook, and I'm not exaggerating," Naruto said as he offered his best friend half of what he was currently eating. Raphael took that to be polite. When he took a bite, Naruto could tell by his expression that he was liking what he was eating.

"Wow, no cooks here couldn't even come close to what your girlfriend has made. This is amazing." Raphael said, disappointed that there wasn't more.

"Surely you exaggerate," said Leonie, who was completely silent in disbelief when Naruto offered her a piece. When he saw her take a bite, she had the same expression Raphael had. She was disappointed that there wasn't more.

"I've had her cooking. Naruto is not exaggerating; it's great. It's always a pleasure to eat what she makes." said Hilda, reinforcing what everyone else said regarding his girlfriend's cooking.

" Such a shame there is not enough for me; what gives Naruto?" Claude said, faking being hurt, not being offered any.

"You certainly made a mistake, Naruto. Now there's going to be demand for your girlfriend's cooking. Then again, it's not like she would mind." said Ino, who was eating her own food from her own home that she was sharing with the class.

"I wish I could speak to her at least once and thank her for the food we all manage to have. I don't know. I don't feel like I'm worthy, and I don't want to. Never mind," said Ignatz, turning away embarrassed.

"I don't think Hinata Chan would mind Ignatz. I wouldn't mind if more people appreciate her cooking; it's amazing." Naruto said, smiling, just thinking about all the great food that he had had since they were kids.

"I don't know what she sees in you," said Lorenz, annoyed that someone like Naruto was dating Hinata instead of him.

"I don't think she owes you the time of day, and I don't have to prove anything to her. I never have," Naruto said with barely controlled anger at Lorenz's words.

"Must you always be an ass? Sheesh lay off." said Claude defending Naruto and Hinata's relationship.

"Whatever, it's none of my business," Lorenz said arrogantly.

Naruto was relieved that he was silent. The last thing he wanted was to deal with someone like him.

"So have you and Hinata figured out how you're going to deal with I-?" Claude was interrupted by Ino, much to Naruto's relief. He didn't want him to bring up the situation with Ingrid. The last thing he wanted was to discuss his feelings for his friend in the Black Eagles.

"I take it you have everything ready for tomorrow for your date?" asked Hilda regarding the necklace that he had made with her instruction.

"Yes, everything about tomorrow is ready. The only thing I will have to do is get up early and make the cinnamon roll that she loves so much, and everything will be perfect," Naruto said with a competent smile.

"You must really love her if you're going this far for her," said Leonie, supportive of how far Naruto was willing to go for Hinata.

" She's the most important person to me."Naruto had no idea what he was saying; he had an audience; they were looking at him, including Lorenz, who was shocked how serious Naruto was.

"I'm sorry, I need to go," Naruto said, needing air. It was the second time he heard the word love on the same day.

This was the second time that Naruto left. The first time that Claude witnessed, he wasn't off the mark at all. Those eyes, every time Naruto ever talked about Hinata, there was the same kind of eyes someone has when they were deeply in love. Naruto has been in love with Hinata for a long time, possibly since childhood.

"He really should tell her how he feels," said Raphael, not understanding why Naruto was holding his feelings in. Claude understands why, to an extent. It's because he doesn't understand his own feelings, and he needs to discover them on his own in time and at his own pace.

"I think we should let him discover how he feels about her at his own pace. They already are dating. The rest will work itself out," Claude said as he focused on his food

"What were you doing with Naruto earlier anyway?" Asked Ino curiously.

"Showing him a romantic spot that he can take his girlfriend." He answered honestly that he wasn't going to reveal his spot that he goes to when he feels depressed. He feels like that was a secret that he only reserves for people that he trusts.

"I wish the idiot would realize his own feelings. The very fact he can't even understand what love really is is frustrating. It's obvious," said Hilda, frustrated.

"Well, things are complicated. Ingrid's also in love with Naruto. It's obvious I want to stay away from that relationship like the plague. I have no desire in getting caught up in the middle," said Claude, not interested in getting involved.

"Whatever, let's just focus on lunch," said Raphael, who was focusing on his food. Claude wished Naruto luck for tomorrow's date.

The next day

Byleth was waiting for his friend Marianne; he was near the stables where they usually spent time alone. It was not the most ideal place for most people but for him, this is where he truly felt at peace. Stone walls of the monastery felt dead to him because he was around nature; something about it made him feel different. Marianne was the same way; it was amazing how much they had in common. He was told he would be tested for what crust he would have soon, though the professor who would normally do the testing wasn't at the monastery at this time.

" You have built a quite a reputation; you had two girls leave their own classes to join yours, that's quite something, and that strategy of yours was a stroke of genius."

Sothis said to Byleth with praise.

"Yeah, it's quite something. It's a little overwhelming in a way, having two new students: both talented young women, it's too bad that that Annette girl didn't transfer; she is quite talented." He said disappointingly.

" The Blue Lions transferring is unusual. It doesn't happen often. The fact that that Ingrid girl transferred is quite something, though. I find it funny that girl that you taught in the Black Eagles, Hinata, that's her name right? She has quite a few admirers, even some women admire her; she is quite popular." He knew what she wanted to discuss; he didn't want to discuss it now. Marianne could come at any moment, and he didn't want to look like he was talking to thin air because she cannot see Sothis like he can.

"You're talking about Dorothea and her feelings for the girl; I know I don't know how to approach that relationships aren't something that I have experience with, nor do I want to get involved in them; I want to stay as far away from them as possible." Byleth said dismissively, not really wanting to think about it.

He made Marianne's favorite tea and prepared her favorite food. He was advised by Hinata and Dorothea to make her feel comfortable and give her what she wants. He goes to those two constantly for advice, even though it sometimes feels strange to talk to them like they're equals. He hears footsteps and knows he has to put his thoughts aside for now because he doesn't want to be rude to his friend.

"I'm glad you've come, Mari. I hope I'm not interrupting your day off with your friends."He said politely as he motioned for her to sit down.

"It's okay; Hinata is going out on her date with Naruto. I don't want to get in her way."She said not bothered that she was spending time with him of all people.

For him, he felt she deserved better than someone like him.

" Wow! You are a lot more alike than you give yourself credit for. You and this Marianne girl."He wanted to tell her to shut up, but he didn't do it because he was in the same proximity as his friend that he made in the monastery.

"It's a pleasant day, isn't it?" he asked her, trying to stir up a conversation.

"The weather is beautiful; I know it's not something we can do, but it'd be nice if we could spend it outside the monastery. These walls feel like a prison." He never heard anyone describe the monastery in that way.

"You don't like being in these walls; they feel dead and lifeless. I can understand that feeling only too well. Sora is anxious; she wishes to be outside." There was silence. He thought about it: would it be such a bad thing? It's their day off, so they can go outside the monastery with their horses.

"We could leave the monastery together so we could be outside. I don't think anyone would mind. I think our horses would be happy, wouldn't you, Sora?" he asked his horse, who answered in agreement.

"But what about the Gatekeeper? What will he say when he sees us leaving? Won't he get the wrong idea?" Marianne asked him in disbelief that he was considering such an action.

"Nonsense! He doesn't care as long as we don't do anything devious. I don't think he'll say anything about what we're doing besides 'we're friends, aren't we?' Is it really unusual for friends to do things together?" he asked her, not really understanding what the implications were. He heard Sothis laughing as if she knew something he didn't.

"I just don't know how that's going to look. I mean, there's already rumors about us as it is." She said nervously.

He wanted to know what these rumors were.

" What rumors? What are you talking asked?" He asked, concerned.

"That you're taking advantage of me in order to subdue me." He understood what she meant now; it clicked. It angered him. Ridiculous.

"I would never do such a thing. How can anyone say that?" He said with more anger than intended. She recoiled.

"I'm sorry. I didn't mean to scare you." He said, not understanding what emotions he was feeling.

"It's alright; I understand that you mean well. I know you would never do those things, but I just don't want to be the reason people think badly of you."

How can anyone possibly think he would take advantage of Marianne? It made so him angry just thinking about it. He's expecting Sothis to say something, but she didn't.

"I don't give a damn what they think of me. It's what they say about you that I care about." Marianne turned away; her cheeks were pink.

"I wouldn't mind leaving the monastery for a bit. It would be nice if it were just the two of us. I mean—I hope it's not too much to ask."He felt his cheeks turn red; what was wrong with him? This is his student, this is his friend; he shoved whatever thoughts he had into the deepest depths of his mind.

"Sure my lady, anything for you" he offered her his hand, and she took it. They walked towards the stables and mounted their horses. They said goodbye to the gatekeeper and left for the nearby forest near the monastery.

With Sasuke and Mercedes

"Is it really appropriate for a teacher to be doing that with their student?" Asked Sasuke to Mercedes when they saw Byleth and Marianne leaving the stables together.

"I don't think it's a problem; it's not like he's doing something nefarious with her." She says, not having an issue with the two leaving alone.

"I just have a question: what does that word mean that you just read?" She asks regarding one of the words.

"Oh, you mean 'alligato'? It means 'thank you' but also means other things in the language where I'm from. The same word can have multiple meanings depending on how you say it."

This fascinates Mercedes, the language that her friend speaks as he reads the book of the Six Paths and translates it into her language. It is fascinating to her.

"Can you teach me to speak it?" she asked him.

"It's not an easy language to learn," he warned.

"It shouldn't be a problem; you can speak our language, and it's actually a lot more difficult, and one of the most difficult languages to learn in the world." Mercedes said with confidence.

Sasuke was patient with her; his reputation made him seem like a brooding person, but she knew there was something more underneath the surface. The side of Sasuke that he showed to others wasn't what he showed to or the blue lions; she were seeing the true Sasuke.

"I don't see it as a problem, but it could take a lot of time."

Time is what she felt like she had more than enough of.

"I'm a quick learner and I think you're a good teacher. You've already taught me much about the sage of six paths, such a beautiful religion the more I learn about it the more I admire it." Mercedes truly meant it; he talked to the other Blue Lions about the religion but he taught her personally about it and explained it in further detail.

"I enjoy these lessons, Sasuke Kun. I truly do, and learning a new language is another adventure." She saw his cheeks turn pink.

"I enjoy it too. He said reluctantly; he was embarrassed she thought she couldn't help but find it cute.

"Everyone in the monastery judges you based on what they see, and I see something much more than what those shallow fangirls see on the surface. I think you're a good person, Sasuke Kun. I'm glad to be your friend." There was silence in the courtyard where they were currently sitting in the shade. It was windy.

"I'm glad I chose the Blue Lions. I feel far more at home. I don't feel like I have to be something I'm not for the first time. I actually feel like I have a place to belong." The way Sasuke said it, she could see it in his eyes sadness and loneliness.

"Do you really not have any friends back home?"She asked him feeling sad of how lonely Sasuke truly is.

He replied, "No, but I I do have one. Naruto. I wouldn't want him to know I said that." he said embarrassingly.

She giggled and thought about helping Naruto by teaching him how to make Hinata's favorite dessert, cinnamon rolls. She knew without him saying anything that he loved Hinata and wanted to do anything to make her happy.

"Yeah, I'm still in disbelief that they're even dating. I thought it would never happen." She saw the two pass by. She was happy Hinata was holding Naruto's hand. Those were the eyes she could tell were filled with love.

She wondered what it would be like to be loved by someone. She's push such thoughts aside, she still has friends; romance is not something she needs in her life, but she can't help having that feeling: it would be nice to have someone.

"A lot of people go to you for advice; you're wise beyond your years." Sasuke said with genuine didn't see herself as being wise; she just did what was right."

"Soon we'll be going on our first mission. I'm actually scared."Mercedes said. Her hands trembling at the idea of having to eventually take a life.

"Why?"Sasuke asked.

"I don't want to kill anyone." Mercedes said finding the idea abominable.

Sasuke looked at her in understanding.

"You don't have to. You could stay behind and just focus on supporting everyone. Someone like you shouldn't take people's lives. You're too kind. Kind people like you are rare." What he thinks of her means a lot. Her heart was beating. What was this feeling?

"The sunset is beautiful," Sasuke said. Mercedes agreed. They watched it together, even though they had only known each other for a short time. She couldn't help but wonder if she should let Sasuke into her heart. It made no sense because she had only known him for a very short time, but she couldn't explain why. He made her happy, and her feelings for him were indescribable. She leaned on Sasuke's shoulder.

She would have to ask Hinata about her feelings, she's feeling what was it? Sasuke leaned on her shoulder as well; she felt at peace and was happy no one had ever made her feel this way. She took his hand in hers and held on to it tightly. She wanted to savor this moment as long as possible; she wished this moment could last forever.

Sasuke was hesitant to move from the spot where he was with Mercedes. They were so close that he felt his heart beating rapidly. He didn't understand these irrational feelings that he was having. She had that effect on him. He never thought in a million years she would ever be drawn to anyone. He had never had a crush before, nor did he have any interest in any girl whatsoever until he met Mercedes. She was special. He didn't have to be the prodigy of the Uchiha; he could just be himself.

"I wish this could last forever. I feel so peaceful being here with you," Sasuke said to Mercedes as he looked at the sky. He didn't pay attention when he wrapped his arm around her. She leaned on his chest. He loved this feeling that she gave him. He couldn't explain why he felt peaceful around her; he just did.

"Do you mind if we stay like this for a bit longer, Sasuke-kun?" Mercedes asked. He didn't even realize their faces were inches apart. He couldn't deny what she wanted because he wanted the same thing; he didn't want to move. They stayed like this for what felt like an eternity. Sasuke didn't care what this feeling was or how pleasant it was; to him, the world did not exist outside of the moment that he was with his friend.

With Naruto and Hinata

"They make a cute couple, don't they?" Hinata said, giggling when she saw Sasuke and Mercedes lean on each other, she thought it was adorable.

"Wow, I didn't think things would happen this quickly. I mean, they've only known each other for like a 12 days at most. This sounds too much like a fairy tale to me." Hinata laughed at the ridiculousness, but she understood that things like love are complicated; she understands it well. She hasn't had the courage to tell Naruto her feelings yet.

"Did I ever mention that dress you're wearing is absolutely gorgeous?"

Naruto said, referring to her navy blue long dress that Hilda and Dorothea had helped make for her. Her hair was braided according to them. They wanted to make her look like a goddess in human form, but from what she heard from Naruto since they started dating, she looks good in anything and she can't look bad at anything she wears, even the plainest of clothes.

"I find Sasuke and Mercedes to be an interesting couple to say the least," Naruto said, referring to her friend from the Blue Lions. She liked Mercedes. She is a person she goes to for advice from time to time. She even is friends with Annette who she eats with regularly.

."Yeah, her and Sasuke San. I never saw that one coming." Hinata admitted.

"Oh, I forgot I had to have help because I can't really cook that well. It took me a lot of tries to get it right. I had to ask Mercedes San for help and Ashe. I wanted to make your favorite dessert and I wanted to do it right." Naruto gave her the cinnamon roll she couldn't believe that he would go this far for her.

"Thank you Naruto-kun, you're so sweet" Hinata said, meaning it.

"I will do whatever I can to make you happy; you're important to me, Hinata Chan".

Naruto can be so romantic without even trying. It's difficult for her to share Naruto with anyone. She's only had a few opportunities to speak to Ingrid since she transferred. They've mostly been focusing on training and schoolwork, but the inevitable topic of Naruto would come up. Naruto mentions Ingrid from time to time, and she shouldn't feel jealous, but she does. She wonders what it is about Ingrid that's so endearing to Naruto. Then, she feels like a hypocrite. She also has strong feelings for Dorothea, and she doesn't know how to handle it.

"I've heard we're all going to be assigned on a mission soon. I'm excited and nervous." Naruto said nervously. Hinata knew exactly what he meant. There were multiple missions that they could go on: bandits hiding out where her professor killed the head bandit, and the remnants of his band are located. One of the classes will be sent there to eliminate the remnants, but she couldn't help but feel like something else was at work.

"Are you all right, Hinata Chan? you're kind of spacing out." she felt foolish for allowing herself to be caught in deep thoughts with her date; this was not the time or place to think about it.

"Sorry, I just have a lot on my mind,"she said, hoping he would buy it.

"I have a gift for you, Hinata Chan." Naruto took something out of his pocket from what she saw; it was a necklace. It looked like it took many tries to make it. It was beautiful, she thought.

"It took me many tries to get it right. I had to have Hilda help me; she's really good at making these things. I know it's not as pretty as she would make it, but I wanted to make it myself." Hinata took it and held it like it was the most precious possession, a gift from Naruto. She never thought she'd ever see the day. She could feel the heart and soul that Naruto put into making the necklace. To her, it was beautiful. She didn't care what anyone thought; it was truly the thought that counted.

"It's beautiful. I can feel the hard work and dedication you put into it. I will always treasure this." Hinata said as she put the necklace on her neck.

The two said nothing. She wanted to give him a gift that would express her feelings, but she didn't know how she could top it.

"I don't want this to end so soon. I got a place where we can go. I mean Claude showed me yesterday"

Hinata wasn't sure if she liked what she was hearing. Claude was someone who she had heard causes a lot of trouble.

"Oh, don't worry. It's not nefarious or anything. I'll blindfold you for a bit. It's a surprise."

He put the blindfold on her. She felt Naruto lift her up like a bride. It was 10 minutes before Naruto stopped. He removed the blindfold, and Hinata couldn't believe what she saw. They were high up in the monastery. As far as the eye could see, she could see the ocean, the cliffs around the monastery, the sunset. It was beautiful.

"Claude wanted to help me do something romantic, so he showed me how to get to this spot. Don't worry; I won't let you fall." Hinata knew Naruto wouldn't let such a thing happen."

"It's so beautiful, Naruto-kun."Hinata said "It's nothing compared to you." Naruto replied No words were needed as Naruto kissed her. This felt just like something from one of her dreams and fantasies: a romantic sunset in a high castle. It almost felt like a dream. She didn't want it to end.

"I will do everything to make you happy. Your smile is what I cherish the most." She knew Naruto also had feelings for Ingrid, but that was for another day. She wouldn't let that tarnish their moment. This was theirs. It would always be theirs.

Nothing was said for the rest of their date, no words were needed for that moment; the whole world revolved around them. If the world ended tomorrow, it wouldn't matter.

Marianne felt great with the wind on her face as she rode her horse. She felt free. Byleth did everything to make her happy; it almost felt too good to be true. He treated her like a princess. Someone called her the teacher's pet, but it wasn't like that at all in their relationship. He treated her as he treated every other student—he treated her as a friend first. She never once called him "professor". They stopped and got off their horses. They let their horses roam free for a while. She could tell that Dote and Sora were happy that they were able to run, even if it was for just a little bit.

"It's beautiful," Marianne said, they were close to the forest. It wasn't the safest thing they were doing, but she knew Byleth was more than capable of handling any situation. She could protect herself should the worst happen.

"Yes, it is. You know what I find more beautiful than the sunset?" She looked at him, wondering what he was getting at. "What is it?" She asked, feeling nervous about what he would say.

"Your smile," she turned away. Out of all the things that he found beautiful, it was her smile. Her mind was racing a thousand miles an hour. Everything she could think was, "Isn't this real? This was a dream."

"I don't think anything about me is beautiful," he didn't allow her to say anymore.

"You are. You have a beautiful soul. Nobody understands animals like you do, or loves them as much as you love them. There isn't anyone like you. I feel less alone knowing there's someone like you. I felt like a freak before I met you. Talking to animals, being able to understand them. Not eating meat because I couldn't bring myself to eat something that was able to talk. No one understands me at least that's what I thought until I met you," the passion in his voice. No one ever spoke about her this passionately. She never saw him be this vulnerable. This was not the professor that everyone saw. This was the real Byleth.

"No one has ever thought that highly of me. I've always seen myself as a burden and a freak."

He placed his hand on her cheek, she felt a tear fall through her eye.

"I say what I honestly believe is true in my heart; you are one of a kind, Mari."Their faces were inches apart before anything could happen; the moment was ruined by her horse, telling her it's time to go home.

"I wish this didn't have to end so soon" Marianne said, depressed that it was over. "Me neither" they got on their horses and said nothing on their way back; what was this was feeling? She had to talk to someone. Anyone there was only one person that she believed would understand what she was feeling. Would Hinata be able to help her? She's the only one she could think of who would help because of her feelings towards Naruto. Perhaps she could help her understand her feelings. She looked at him. Whatever she felt, it wasn't something she should feel towards Byleth. She put those thoughts aside for now. To the darkest steps of her mind, she couldn't indulge in that idea.

She changed her mind when talking to Hinata about it wouldn't help. She would forget about it the next day she woke up, forgetting it had ever happened.

He escorted her to her quarters, looking into his eyes before shutting the door. Something she couldn't get out of her mind were these feelings. Terrified, she dared not mention it. The L word "it" is the one thing she was terrified of more than anything. She slept, thinking of Byleth.
