Hey Everyone, It's finally here! The Power of Forgiveness Part 2 I've been planning this for a while now. But between Covid and Owl House Bingeing I couldn't get around to it. Now I'm glad I'm back into it because Carla clearly deserves character development and should have a better ending since Esteban got his redemption. I really hope this works out in the long run. I appreciate you for waiting this long for me to finish the story. In this segment we will be focusing on Elena and Victor's past friendship and their journey of healing to rekindle that friendship, while Carla is on the road to redemption herself, making up for all the bad deeds she's done. There may be some Esteban and Ash moments as this story goes on, but you'll get to see them soon. I hope you like the second installment of this series.
Enjoy!
Victor and Carla had paid their debts to society by helping free the lighting warrior and as a reward they were given the gift of residence in Avalor for the rest of their days. Until they find a place to live in Avalor city, they were allowed to live in the palace.
Elena was helping Carla getting settled in into her new room at the Palace.
"So how do you like your room Carla?" asked Elena.
"It's Great!" said Carla. "Thanks for letting me and Papa settled in the castle until we find a place to stay in the city.
"It's the least I could do after you and your father helped us free the lightning warrior.. and also you saving my life." Elena nervously chuckled.
"I know you two used to be friends when you were younger." said Carla. "I know nothing can change what papi and I did, but I hope you guys can find a way to make up someday."
Elena had some mixed feelings about that. "It's a little complicated Carla, your father and I have been friends for years before I was imprisoned in the amulet, and since you both became criminals he's broken my complete faith and trust in him, It's going to take a lot more than apologizing to mend our friendship."
"I understand." said Carla. "If I know my papa he is very determined, he'll do anything to keep me safe, just like he'll do whatever it takes to make things right...Like how I did."
That thought scared Elena, Carla almost lost her life saving her, she didn't want her her own dad taking that same risk.
"Are you sure you're ready to face your mom again after what happened last time?" Elena asked with concern.
Carla frowned at that question. "I prefer not to call her that." But I'm ready to face her and move on with my life, I'm not gonna let the scars of my past hold me back.
Elena gave Carla some comfort "Well, you know whatever you need, I'm here for you."
Carla returned the favor. "Thanks, and don't worry we will capture Esteban."
Elena felt relieved. "I'm happy you're with us Carla, I wasn't sure at first that I could trust you but now I'm glad I did."
"Well what are friends for?" said Carla
That surprised Elena herself, she'd never thought in a million years would be friends with an former criminal. She was amazed at the change Carla has shown.
"Well I guess we'd better hit it." said Elena. Tomorrow's another day to prepare for my Coronation that's coming in a few weeks.
"If it means anything, I think you're going to make a great Queen!" said Carla.
Elena smiled when she heard that, with everything that was going on, she needs all the support she can get.
"Good night, Carla." said Elena.
"Buenas Noches, Princess." said Carla.
...
As Elena headed out Carla's room she came face to face with Victor as she shifted to an unpleasant face, while Victor had a face of concern.
How is she holding up?" He asked.
"She's doing fine." said Elena. "Still a little uneasy from her mom's betrayal."
Victor was grateful for Elena's help even though they don't get along like they used to. "Thank you Elena for helping my daughter, she's had it hard when it's just me and her and I had to teach to be evil like her mother so she can survive in this world. But that's no excuse, I'm no better parent than Ash was."
Elena can sympathize with that. "I understand, even though you're parenting method wasn't the best, you did what you had to do to keep her safe."
"I'm just glad she has friends her age, she never had any when she was younger." said Victor.
"She does have a big support system, but Victor..." Elena's voice shifted to a serious tone. "You do have a responsibility, Carla needs her father more than ever. She needs help adjusting to this new life, there are people who aren't going to be nice to her since you two have done many bad things and have endangered many lives. As much as you two need make amends for your terrible deeds, you need to be there for Carla. Especially with what she's going through right now."
Victor felt remorseful as he thought about what he put his daughter through even though she went along with it. "You're right Elena, I'll have be the father that Carla needs. I'll do right by her this time, and to everyone else."
"I'm glad we're in agreement." said Elena.
In that moment, Victor hoped things were okay between them. "So...are we good?"
"Don't push your luck Delgado, I'm not ready for that yet." Elena said as she walked away from him.
Victor stood there as Elena kept walking. Disappointed, he knew it wasn't going to be easy but if he keeps proving himself their trust and friendship will be restored.
Elena was not ready to forgive Victor yet, sure he helped Elena free the lightning warrior, but what Victor did left a scar in Elena's heart and it was just as ugly as the one Esteban left. She needed some time to think about their past friendship.
