Morning came to Floterna City, and Sally Acorn has just woken up after a good night's rest. She had a couple hours before School started so she decided to try out the video chat system that was given to her a couple days ago. She used a control panel to contact Sonic and in a matter of moments he answered the call with Tails standing right next to him.
Sally: Morning guys, I hope you can see and hear me.
Sonic: Everything's fine on our end, Sal! So how's the teaching job going?
Sally: It's going good, the students are great, and the faculty are really kind. In fact one of the students is actually Erma's niece.
Tails: You mean Erma of the Arctic freedom fighters?
Sally: That's right!
Tails: That's so cool, so what's it like in Floterna?
Sally: Oh, It's amazing, it has all sorts of sights to see and places to visit, you two should come over sometime!
Sonic: Sounds like a plan! Anyway, I got this letter yesterday! So Hershey is alive?
Sally: I know right! I couldn't believe it myself either, but just don't to tell anyone else, okay? She's doing a private investigation and doesn't want to draw any unwanted attention.
Sonic: You got it!
Tails: So I heard from mom yesterday that you caught Fiona?
Sally: It's true we did...however my brother thanks to the police department recommended that she takes a rehabilitation program, she starts on Saturday. Of course Elias has her placed under my care
Tails: So she's staying with you?
Sally: Yeah, but don't worry! I will do my best to keep her out of trouble.
Sonic: So where did you even find her?
Sally: Well yesterday I found her over by this rapid river area called the Hydro stream. She was all by herself. There was no sign of Scourge or the Destructix
Sonic: That's kind of Odd
Sally: Yeah, however as we fought, she fell right into the rapid river, and with the current going fast, I knew I had to save her. After that, it seemed that she gave up, so with the help of Hershey, Erma, and Larry who's the gym teacher at Freedom U, we got her to the police station without any fuss, and she was ordered to take the rehabilitation program.
Sonic: Rehabilitation huh? Considering everything she's done, can a place like that really help her?
Sally: Well from what I've been told, that place has really helped a lot of troubled people, even those who are worse than her. I understand that you're skeptical about this, but I'm willing to put my faith into it.
Sonic: Well if you believe Fiona can do it, then I do too!
Tails: Same here!
Sonic: you have my full support, Sal! Just keep us up to date with the progress.
Sally: I will! I only hope it goes well!
Tails: Me too...it may sound crazy, but I always felt as if there's still some good inside her.
Sally: No, it's not crazy at all, sweetheart. I guess it just sounds like she lost her way.
Suddenly Sally heard a scream coming from next door which also caught Sonic and Tails off guard!
Sonic: Sounds like you got bigger problems, so we'll let you go!
Tails: See you later Sally!
and with that video screen turns off, and Sally rushed over next door to see what was going on, and when she got in the room was a mess, with food crumbs on the floor and toilet paper all over the place. Sally noticed Danielle hanging from the ceiling being tied up by the toilet paper.
Danielle: Someone help me!
Sally: Don't worry! I'll get you down!
Sally grabbed a pair of scissors to cut the toilet paper causing Danielle to fall but Sally was able to catch her.
Danielle: *scared* Oh thank goodness you came! I was hanging up there for so long! I'm scared of heights.
Sally: It's okay, you're safe now! Who did this?
Before Danielle could answer Fiona came from the bathroom with toilet paper attached to the bottom of her shoe!
Danielle: YOU! You made my apartment look like a complete pigsty!
Fiona: Oh Come on, Lighten up! You look like you never had fun in your entire life!
Sally: Fiona! You know better then to invade someone else's place!
Fiona: What are you, my Mom?
Danielle: *Angry* You know that awful little Vulpine?
Sally: in a way...Yes unfortunately!
Fiona: Yeah! Sally and I go way back! *Wraps her arm around Sally and gives her a noogie* Ain't that right Princess?
Sally: I'm really sorry about this, Danielle! Fiona here has just been placed in the rehabilitation program, and my brother has placed her under my care.
Danielle: Well...be sure to keep her away from me! She nearly scared me out of my wits when she left me hanging on the ceiling! I thought I was going to stay up there forever! And *sniffs* When was the last time she took a shower? she smells like the dark side of the swamp!
Fiona: HEY! Why don't you come here and say that you mutt? *Fiona attempts to go after Danielle but Sally holds her off*
Danielle: HOW DARE YOU! *Throws Pillow at Fiona* Get her out of here!
At this point Hershey entered the room after hearing the commotion.
Hershey: What's wrong, is everything okay!
Sally: Can you take Fiona back to my place? I need to calm Danielle down.
Hershey: Gladly!
Hershey drags Fiona out Danielle's apartment while Sally goes to check on danielle!
Sally: I'm really sorry about this...but hopefully this program can help curb her behavior!
Danielle: Well it better! We can't have people like her waltzing around here like they own the place. I was scared...
Sally: You're okay now...I will be sure to keep her away from you, but next next time, you might want to lock your apartment at night.
Danielle: I will thank you!
Sally: At least let me help you clean this mess up!
And So Sally and Danielle cleaned the apartment together by taking care of all the hanging toilet paper, and vacuuming up the food crumbs. It wasn't long until the room was nice and spotless!
Danielle: Thanks for your help!
Sally: Anytime, Danielle!
Sally headed back to her own apartment and confronted Fiona about the situation.
Sally: Fiona! Are you kidding me!? You can't do stuff like this!
Fiona: Oh come on, you're overreacting!
Sally: Danielle was scared out of her wits!
Fiona: It was just a bit of fun, no one got hurt!
Sally: Well you're lucky she didn't get hurt...Look I just want you to be on your best behavior, You need to keep yourself under control!
Fiona: hmph!
Sally: I don't have time for this, I have to go!
Hershey: Don't worry, Sally! I will keep a watch on her.
Sally: Thanks, Hershey! I owe you one! I just need to grab Nicole and I will be on my way!
Sally walked to her bedroom to get Nicole then started heading out!
Fiona: *Teasingly* Aww can't the little princess live without her toys?
Sally: Look...I really have to leave...so I'm begging you...please be good...
Fiona: Whatever...
Sally walked out the door to leave for Freedom U with Danielle joining her, along the way there was some questions about the rehab center that was on Sally's mind.
Sally: Danielle, you've been in this town longer than I have. What do you know about this rehabilitation center? I heard it has done a lot to help.
Danielle: Oh yes! It has done wonders for your community. I hope it can tame that fox friend of yours!
Sally: That's what I'm hoping too.
At that moment, Larry caught up with the two!
Larry: Did I miss anything?
Sally: Apparently Fiona had a little invasion plan next door scaring the living daylights out of Danielle here!
Danielle: She left me hanging...quite literally!
Larry: I know things are tough, but you gotta be patient!
Sally: I know but it's not going to be easy.
Larry: You just gotta give it time that's all.
Sally: Right...anyway how's Erma adjusting to your place?
Larry: She seems to feel well adjusted, she found my basement as the perfect spot to do some meditating, and I don't blame her. It can really do wonders.
Sally: Well I'm glad to hear it.
Larry: And I'm really sorry to hear about what happened, Dani!
Danielle: Oh don't worry about it, Sally helped me clean up the mess, so it's all good.
and throughout the conversation, the three made it to Freedom U! Everyone went in, all ready to start the day. Sally went over by her desk to await the student's arrival. While she was waiting, she couldn't help but think about Fiona, and what the rehab program can do to help her.
Sally: *Thinking* I honestly wasn't expecting that to happen! I knew Fiona was a bit of a rebel, but I didn't think she pulled off something like that. Still, I need to have patience and faith if I'm going to put up with her.
After a while, the students arrived with everyone handing in their assignments that was given to them yesterday, leaving Sally to put them in a neat pile.
Sally: Morning students thanks for handing in your assignments, now we can start a new lesson!
Meanwhile back at Sally's apartment, Hershey was keeping a close watch on Fiona to make sure she doesn't try to do anything reckless.
Fiona: *Teasingly* So, what's new pussycat? How's your Hubby?
Hershey: That's none of your business!
Fiona: *Tauntingly* aww gee and I just wanted a nice friendly conversation.
Hershey: Oh is that right? Then tell me, how are things with being a traitor going for you? I bet it must be very fun for you!
Fiona: That's none of your concern!
Hershey: And you said you wanted a friendly conversation!
Fiona: If you don't watch it, you're really going to get it!
Hershey: Am I supposed to feel intimidated? Because I'm really not! If anything you're more funny than threatening! Look, Foxy! I've dealt with people more threatening than you, so I'd watch that attitude.
Fiona: *Tauntingly* Why don't you make me?
At that point Fiona and Hershey started to stare down at each other, no telling what's going to happen next. Meanwhile back at the school Sally was continuing on with her lecture on Swat Bot Anatomy when Herman raised his hand to ask a question.
Sally: Yes Herman?
Herman: I wanted to ask, why aren't there much SWATbots now then there was then?
Sally: That's an excellent question. The truth of the matter is, as years go by when Eggman began to rule SWATbots had become outdated, however there has been recent reports of people finding use for the older models, programming them for use outside of their usual operations.
Herman: That is really amazing, I wish I could be able to pull off something like that.
Sally: If you believe you can do it, then what's stopping you from trying?
The students chattered in amazement, having grown inspired by the lecture, at this point Misty raised her hand.
Sally: Yes Misty?
Misty: How were they able to detect other Freedom Fighter's movement?
Sally: Well that's simple, the eyes here pointed in this diagram contains a light that can help detect sudden movement, so If you were to encounter one of those SWATbots, best thing to do is to avoid being spotted.
Herman: This is definitely noteworthy!
At this point the bell rang and the students were packing their things to get to their next class.
Sally: That will be all for today, I hope you all have a great day. Herman, your paper was really well thought out so you get an A+.
Herman: Thank you Miss Acorn, I do my best to do my research very thoroughly. It also helps that I cite my resources on a separate page.
Sally: That's smart thinking, Emily your paper was good, but next time try to add less detail about violent impact of the battles in your report, but you get an A
Emily: Okay, Miss Acorn!
Sally: Misty, you did really well but you might want to check on your spelling next time, So B+ is your grade.
Misty: Okay...Thank you
Sally: You're welcome, despite the spelling errors, I can tell that you really put a lot of thought and effort into your paper.
Misty: I just try to my best.
Sally: And that's all anyone ask, now you have a good day.
Misty: I will! See you Tomorrow!
As Sally continued to look over the other student's assignments, she heard a knock on the door.
Sally: Come in
the door opened and Clyde came in.
Sally: Hi Clyde, is something the matter?
Clyde: Everything's fine! I actually came by because I forgot to give you this! *Clyde hands Sally a remote control with a bug button at the center with a dial next to it* This is a remote for the shock brace Fiona wears. In case Fiona starts to get out of hand, just press it, and the dial here increases the intensity. Don't worry about if it's going to break the brace because it won't. they have been made with top notch technology, so even a rainstorm couldn't ruin it. But only use it if it's necessary, it's not something to be used as a joke.
Sally: Well thank you, Clyde! I will be sure to hang on to it, and I tend to be very responsible so you have nothing to worry about.
Clyde: I figured that, I mean you are the leader of the Freedom Fighters afterall, well have a good day ma'am.
Sally: Thanks you too.
And with that Clyde left the room and and Sally put the remote in her bag for safekeeping. Meanwhile Herman, Misty, and Emily were walking in the hallway to get to their next class when a few things crossed their minds.
Herman: So Emily, I bet it must be very exciting to have an Aunt who's a Freedom Fighter!
Emily: It is, I actually hope to one day go on adventures with her, and maybe even help her out when things get tough.
Herman: I actually hope to use my skills to assist other people when they are in need, Kinda like that of Tails.
Emily: Ooh that's great! You always been able to build your own things!
Herman: Yeah, plus I can help with some medical stuff too. I have been studying that, so I could also be a roving medic.
Misty: You mean like if someone got hurt, you can heal them right on the spot instead of taking them to a hospital?
Herman: Yeah exactly!
Emily: This sounds really coo, Hermie!
Misty: I wish I could have adventures like that...
Emily: Mist, are you okay? You've seen a bit out of it the past couple days.
Misty: Oh it's nothing, I'm just feeling a bit preoccupied.
Herman: With that? if there's something wrong maybe we can help you!
Emily: Yeah, Misty! You can always talk to us, we're friends after all.
Misty: That's nice of you guys, but you just wouldn't understand...Oh we better hurry! The bell will ring soon!
Herman: Oh! You're right!
And so the kids decided to talk later and focus on getting to their next class. Back at the classroom, After Sally was done grading the papers, she was still thinking about Fiona when Nicole emerged in her Lynx form.
Nicole: You seem out if today, Sally!
Sally: Oh Nicole! I guess I'm just worried about Fiona going to that center Saturday.
Nicole: How so?
Sally: Well, I'm concerned with how she's going to adjust. She's always had a bit of a rebellious streak, and considering what just happened this morning, well I don't know.
Nicole: Sally you just need to remember what Larry said, All it takes is time and patience.
Sally: I know that Nicole and I trust him completely, it's just that I really hope this will help Fiona in some way. I know we had our differences in the past but still, I wouldn't admit this to anyone else if I wasn't alone because of circumstances but I actually do miss her, I wish I could've learned more about her past so I could've handle her situation a lot differently and perhaps could've prevented her from going down that dark path. Maybe it's my fault for being quick to judge without knowing the full story.
Nicole: We all make mistakes, Sally. It's not like anyone could have foreseen this.
Sally: You're right, but right now at this point, All I can do is hope...hope for Fiona to come back into the light.
Nicole: I hope so too, Sally
