This is a story based off of both Warrior Cats and The Lion King!

In this story, Firekit (Simba) is the son of Pinestar and Leopardfoot, and the younger brother of Tigerclaw.

You know how the story goes, but there'll be a few changes, of course, to accommodate for the cats and their home.

Enjoy!!

It was a beautiful, much-anticipated morning in the forest... for the one who would one day lead ThunderClan and take over as the forest's ruler was born.

Standing atop the Thunder-rock was ThunderClan's current leader, Pinestar, a dark ginger tabby tom.

As the sun rose above the horizon, a snow-white dove glided up to her leader and stood before him on the rock, bowing and spreading her wings in utmost respect. Pinestar smiled, dipping his head.

Soon Goosefeather, Pinestar's medicine cat, came up onto the rock, also dipping his head.

Pinestar did the same, turned, and joined his mate in welcoming their second kitten into the world; he nuzzled her and peered down at their son.

The newborn kitten was nestled between his mother's forelegs. When she licked his head, he turned himself around and looked up at Goosefeather.

The old tom smiled, then picked the tiny ginger kit up by the scruff of his neck.

He turned away, walked to the end of the rock, and lifted the little flame-colored scrap up to present him to the rest of ThunderClan.

Yowls of excitement and joy rang out from the cats below the rock; when the sounds died down, the cats all bowed before the newborn prince.

The light of ThunderClan had arrived.

A little small mouse was scuttling around near Thunder-rock, likely searching for food, when a big brown paw clamped down on it.

The mouse was lifted into the air, and the owner of the brown paw was revealed to be a big brown tabby tomcat.

"Life's not fair, is it?" the tomcat asked the mouse, as if it were going to reply. "For me, well... it's because I'll never be leader."

The mouse struggled, but couldn't get away.

"Heh... and you won't see the light of another day," the tom chuckled, smiling. "Goodbye, little one."

He opened his jaws wide to devour it, just as Grace the dove arrived.

"Did your mother ever tell you, 'don't play with your food'?"

The big tomcat rolled his eyes, scoffing. "What do you want?"

Grace bowed. "Well, I'm here to announce that Pinestar is on is way... so you'd better have a decent excuse for missing the ceremony this morning," she told him.

The mouse escaped from beneath the tom's paw and dashed off.

"Oh, look at that, Grace- you made me lose my breakfast," he muttered.

The white bird laughed just once and replied, "hah! You'll lose more than that when your father is finished with you. He's not happy, not at all..."

The tabby grinned dangerously. "Ooooh, scary...!"

He started to advance towards Grace, who backed up. "N-now, Tigerclaw... don't look at me like that...!"

Tigerclaw grabbed her by the tail feathers in his teeth as she tried to fly away. "HELP-!!"

"Tigerclaw." Pinestar stood behind his eldest son, then. "Drop her."

"Heh... g-great timing, Pinestar!" Grace stammered, trembling.

Tigerclaw dropped her on her face and glided over to his father. "Well, well! If it isn't my father! He's come to mingle with us warriors, huh?"

Pinestar glared. "Your mother and I didn't see you at the ceremony this morning, Tigerclaw."

Tigerclaw put his massive forepaws on the rock wall before him as he turned around. "Oh, that was today, was it? Oh, great StarClan, I feel awful!"

He scraped his big claws on the wall, causing Grace to cringe at the shrill sound.

"Huh. It must've slipped my mind."

"Well, as feeble as your mind is," Grace put in, "as the prince's brother, you should have been first in line!"

Tigerclaw bared his teeth, and the dove hid behind Pinestar's foreleg.

"Oh, actually- I WAS first in line. Until that little hairball was born."

Pinestar growled, "that hairball is your brother, and your future leader."

"Oh, then I'll practice bowing for him!" Tigerclaw said, starting to walk away.

Pinestar lashed his tail. "Don't turn your back on me, son!"

"Oh, no, Father... you shouldn't turn your back on me," Tigerclaw grumbled.

Hissing angrily, Pinestar jumped in front of his son. "Is that a challenge?" he snarled.

"Oh, come on, Father... I wouldn't challenge you," Tigerclaw replied cooly.

Grace scoffed. "Why not?"

"Well, we are family," Tigerclaw said, "and when it comes to family..." He slid past Pinestar. "I'm afraid I don't have it in me to challenge my own father."

As he ventured out of camp, Grace sighed. "There's one in every family, Pinestar. Two in mine, actually..." She flew over to his side. "And they always manage to dampen the mood on special days like this one."

Pinestar shook his head. "What am I going to do with him...?"

Goosefeather was in his den that night, resting and sheltered from the storm outside.

Then the tom's ears lifted and his blue eyes opened wide.

He was receiving a vision from StarClan!

He could see the young kitten he'd presented to the clan, standing atop the Thunder-rock as an adult; flames surrounded the great boulder, and the sky was smoky and black.

Goosefeather's eyes flashed, and he shook his head.

Then he smiled, having made sense of the vision already.

Chuckling, he laid his head back down.

"Firekit..."
