A/N This is a long chapter but enjoy cause there's some good moments between Buffy and Klaus so please leave a review and let me know what you think
(Mikaelson Ball)
Buffy was watching TV until she heard the front door and she got up and walked over to answer the door but nobody's there but as she looked down she saw a box with a white bow on the top and there was a card on top and she opened the card.
Once Buffy opened the card she read what was inside that said you have been invited to attend the Mikaelson ball and there's a note on the back of it from Klaus and says "Save me a dance love."
"Seriously." Buffy said as she groaned and rolled her eyes and she opens the box next to her that revealed a beautiful blue dress.
"Oh." Buffy said as she admired the dress.
Buffy's phone goes off with a message from Elena saying that she needs to talk to her at the grill alone so she meets up with her and Caroline to talk.
(At The Grill)
Buffy sat with Elena and Caroline as they were talking about the ball.
"I can't believe that you both got invited to this thing and I didn't." Caroline said.
"I mean it probably would be safer if you didn't cause it could go seriously wrong." Buffy said to Caroline.
"Yeah you're probably right." Caroline said as she looks at Buffy then turned to look at Elena and she continues.
"And why does the witch want an audience with you?" Caroline asked Elena.
"I don't know but I guess I will find out but I need a drama free bodyguard cause Stefan and Damon won't let me go by myself and I asked Buffy." Elena said.
"Yeah that's good and well I think Salvatore would look better in tux and by that I mean Stefan." Caroline said.
"Well I just don't want to deal with any of the Salvatore's right now." Elena said.
"That's why you have me coming with you." Buffy said to Elena.
"Careful Buffy it's all well and truly until she stabs you in the back." Rebekah said as she approached them.
"What the hell are you doing here?" Buffy asked Rebekah.
"We know you're mum's rules no murdering the locals?" Elena said.
"Get over yourself Elena it's not all about you." Rebekah said as she walked away over to Matt standing a few feet away.
"Oh my god is she inviting him to that ball and why is she doing that?" Caroline asks.
"Probably to get this reaction from all of us." Elena said.
"If I can't go to this thing I want you both to keep an eye on him." Caroline said.
"Of course we will." Buffy said as it could be a great night or it could end in disaster.
"Thank you anyway I'm gonna go home and watch TV and good luck with tonight please be safe." Caroline said as she looks at them and she stood up and left.
"Can we get ready together later Buffy? But I think you should come over and get ready at my house cause you live with Stefan and Damon." Elena said looking at Buffy.
"Yeah I'll just bring my dress over to yours and make up a good lie." Buffy said.
"Okay I'll see you later." Elena said as she stood up.
"Alright then I'll meet you at your house later on." Buffy said as she said a quick goodbye to Elena then went home.
(Later That Evening)
Buffy was getting ready with Elena at her house after she was leaving the Salvatore house earlier as she made up a lie that she was going to stay with Elena to make sure she wasn't going to the ball.
"I can't believe you actually lied to Stefan and Damon about this." Elena said.
"I know but you need to know what Esther wants and I'm letting you do that because it's your choice." Buffy said.
"You're the only one that gets that" Elena said to Buffy.
"Well you're old enough to make you're own decisions." Buffy said.
"I'm glad you're here." Elena said as she is doing her make up.
"Thank you and I'm glad to be here." Buffy said as she finally felt like she was at home.
"So Buffy you've been here for awhile and do you have feelings for anybody?" Elena asked looking at Buffy.
"I'm not interested in anybody." Buffy said.
"Well how did you get invited tonight Buffy?" Elena asked her.
"I got invited by Klaus." Buffy said and Elena looked shocked.
"Wait what?" Elena asked.
"Yeah he invited me to the ball this morning." Buffy said as she looked at Elena.
"Why did he invite you?" Elena asked.
"I don't know but I guess I will find out why tonight." Buffy said.
"Wait Buffy but you have to be careful and he could be dangerous." Elena said.
"I will be fine Elena." Buffy said as she was ready to go.
(The Mikaelson Ball At Night)
Buffy and Elena arrive at the ball through big the front door and then Stefan walked up to them.
"What are you guys doing here?" Stefan asks Buffy and Elena.
"I could ask the same question and nice tux." Damon said as he approached.
"We had to find out what Esther wants." Elena said to Damon.
"And we don't need your permission Damon okay." Buffy said as she stands protectively in front of Elena.
"Are you guys serious?" Damon asks angry.
"Yeah we are Damon and if you don't like it then you can walk straight out of that door behind us and I need to find a drink." Buffy said as she was looking at all of them for a moment then walked away.
Buffy went up to nearby bar but before she could get there she sees Klaus talking to a woman but after a moment he noticed her and he started to walk towards Buffy.
"Hello love good evening." Klaus said as he takes Buffy's hand and kisses her knuckles.
"Yeah I need a drink." Buffy said as she just looked at him before she walked away and he watched her.
It was bit later in the night Elijah was giving a speech while all of his family was on the staircase and everyone was watching and Elijah mentioned that it was a centuries old waltz and he insisted that everyone grab a dance partner.
Buffy saw Damon and Elena walking off to go dance so she went to ask Stefan cause she wants to be there for him and she saw how jealous he was and Stefan had agreed to dance with Buffy before Klaus could get the chance to ask her.
Throughout the dance in the ballroom Buffy was dancing with Stefan for while until they start to switch partners and then somehow she found her way to dancing with Klaus.
"Hello again love and can I just say that you look very ravishing in my dress that I bought for you." Klaus said as he was dancing with the blonde.
"I bet you say that to all the girls." Buffy said as she was dancing with him.
"No other girl is as ravishing as you." Klaus said as he keeps dancing with her.
"Hmm I bet." Buffy said to Klaus.
Rebekah who is dancing with Damon keeps looking at Buffy and Klaus.
"Of course she looks beautiful Nik gave her everything she's wearing." Rebekah said as she watched her brother dance with Buffy.
"You're no dog yourself." Damon said as he looked at Rebekah but he was also focused on Buffy and wondering why she is literally dancing with the devil.
"Is that supposed to be a compliment?" Rebekah asked but Damon was looking around for Elena.
"You don't get compliments and where is Elena?" Damon asked and looking around the room.
Buffy was still dancing with Klaus and after a while it was time to start switching again of dance partners and now she is dancing with Damon.
"Why the hell were you dancing with Klaus?" Damon asked Buffy.
"Don't ask." Buffy said as she looked at him.
Later into the night Buffy had gone outside for some fresh air and Elena's meeting with Esther so they can all figure out a way to kill Klaus and finally be free of all this and Buffy stands as she was looking at a horse.
Klaus was walking over to Buffy from behind her and he looked at her.
"Do you like horses?" Klaus asked.
"I'm not talking to you right now and why did you invite me here?" Buffy asked.
"Because I fancy you." Klaus said to her.
"Why though?" Buffy asked.
"Because you're beautiful you're strong and you're full of light and I enjoy you and that's why I invited you." Klaus said.
"That's great well I'm gonna go back inside because I like people and they like me so I'll be going." Buffy said sarcastically as she is looking at Klaus before heading back inside to look for Elena.
(Inside The Mansion)
Buffy had spoke to Elena for a few minutes and Elena would tell Buffy about what she had found out with Esther earlier.
Buffy stood with Klaus as Esther's speaking and there's a lot of waiters that are walking around with drinks and he handed her one and Buffy gave him a small smile and she saw Elena with Elijah and everyone took a drink of their drinks.
(A Room)
"So what is it that you wanted to show me?" Buffy asked as she follows Klaus in a room with a lot of artwork.
"It's one of my landscapes." Klaus said as he stood in front of a large painting when Buffy stood near him and Buffy looked at the sketches and she was confused for a moment before looking at Klaus.
"Wait a second did you do all of this?" Buffy asked him.
"Yeah I've made these because that's how I get the beautiful landscapes." Klaus said.
"Okay and where did you steal this from?" Buffy asked as she showed her bracelet.
"That's a long story that the bracelet was worn by a princess almost as beautiful as you." Klaus said at her as he couldn't take his eyes off of the blonde slayer.
Buffy rolled her eyes at him and she groans in annoyance then she looked at a painting that caught her eyes.
"This looks good." Buffy said admiring the city of it.
"Have you been?" Klaus asked.
"Well I haven't really been anywhere mostly." Buffy said as she looked at him.
"I'll take you wherever you want to go and if it's Paris or Italy anywhere you want." Klaus said as he smiled at her.
"Oh wow and it must be easy to just snap you're fingers and get whatever you want?" Buffy asked as she folded her arms.
"This has been a fun night but I'm afraid I'm gonna have to ask you to leave." Klaus said.
"I get it you assume that nobody else would understand you cause you do things like kill people or buy them off." Buffy said as she is taking off her jewellery and continued.
"But in the real world you don't connect with people because you don't try to understand them." Buffy said before storming out.
(Later At The Salvatore House)
Buffy is getting ready for bed after getting out of the shower and she sees something on her pillow and she walked over and she looked at a drawing of her in her dress and looks at a horse and looking at the bottom corner that said thank you for your honesty from Klaus.
A/N Well that was in interesting chapter to write and it took me a while to do but I just hope that you enjoyed it
