In Class 1-A's dormitory...
Marinette and Midoriya entered, feeling a little overwhelmed visiting Gabriel in the private room. But first, they had to get permission from Mr. Aizawa. He had the keycard after all. There's no way they could get into the private room without it. Even if they could, Mr. Aizawa would lecture them until they graduate.
Some of their friends and classmates were hanging out in the common room, doing their homework. Unfortunately, Bakugo was right there with Chloe and Kirishima. He really didn't want to deal with Bakugo yelling at him for being reckless. Midoriya subtly looked around for Mr. Aizawa, but didn't see him anywhere.
"Hey Midoriya, Marinette," Kirishima said to them, "I didn't see you there! Aren't you working on finding codes for your Miraculous?"
"Yeah, but we needed to take a break ask... Mr. Aizawa something about our homework," Marinette said to them, and Midoriya tried not to look at them in the eyes as she said it, "Do you know where he is?"
"Yeah. He went back to his room to grade papers," Kirishima told them, "I hope that you can find the recipe soon."
"Thanks Kirishima," Midoriya said to him, "We're going to work on it even more tonight. Hopefully we'll figure it out by then."
Midoriya and Marinette shared a look and walked past them and towards Mr. Aizawa's room. Midoriya tried not to look at Bakugo, but he could tell that he was a little suspicious of him. Something about it felt a little strange that he would go to Mr. Aizawa to ask about homework, but he let it slide for now. Marinette and Midoriya headed over there with the grimoire, hoping that Mr. Aizawa would at least let them talk to him. They both started to get a little nervous walking towards his room, but Midoriya tried to pull himself together.
Once they got to his room, Marinette knocked on his door with her shaky hand. It took a minute to open the door, but when he did he looked like he was already settled down and ready to grade papers. His hair was even up in a messy ponytail. He seemed confused as to why they were both here together.
"What are you two doing here? I'm busy grading papers," Mr. Aizawa said to them, "With you two at my door, this better be good."
Midoriya gulped and felt a little weak kneed talking to him. He wanted to ask him about it, but he was a little nervous to mention Gabriel.
"We were going through the grimoire for fixing Izuku's Miraculous, and we both were having trouble finding anything at all," Marinette explained to him, "Then, I remembered someone that actually managed to fix one. They might be able to help us."
Midoriya was surprised that she even managed to ask him, let alone talk about to him without fumbling. Mr. Aizawa looked at them and got that look in his eyes like he might know who she was talking about. He rubbed his eyes like he was starting to get a headache.
"Please don't tell me what I think you're saying," Mr. Aizawa said to them.
"Mr. Aizawa, Gabriel was able to fix the Peacock Miraculous. He might be able to help us," Marinette explained to him, "I can't figure out these codes. Izuku doesn't have a lot of time. I can't let this happen to him. Me and Adrien wouldn't be able to leave you guys behind in Paris without fixing this. It wouldn't feel right."
Midoriya looked at them, and Mr. Aizawa gave him a look that looked like he worried about him. Mr. Aizawa didn't say anything for a minute, but then he walked into his room. They stood there as they waited for him to come back. After a long minute of waiting, he came back with the keycard. He looked determined to help them out, he even grabbed his scarf and put it on.
"Come on. I'm coming with you," Mr. Aizawa said to them, "I can't let Gabriel out of there without me around."
They tried not to get too excited, but they were glad that he was willing to help them. They both followed him and were nervous as to how everyone in the common room would react. Once they walked through, Bakugo, Chloe and Kirishima instantly noticed them walking over to the private room. Even some others noticed and were a little confused as to what they were doing with Mr. Aizawa.
"Uhh... What's going on?" Kirishima asked them, "Why are you going over to the private room?"
"Mr. Aizawa is helping us fix the Miraculous," Marinette explained to them, "Sorry, but we can't explain right now. We've gotta do this to help Izuku."
Mr. Aizawa swiped the keycard, and Midoriya got ready to head inside. Bakugo got up without meaning to and got frustrated with what was going on.
"Mr. Aizawa, what the hell are you doing? Deku shouldn't even be anywhere near them!" Bakugo cried out, "You know better than anyone that he shouldn't step into that room!"
"I understand your frustration Bakugo, but I'll be right here with him," Mr. Aizawa explained to him, "I will make sure that nothing happens to him. We need to get his Miraculous fixed. We'll talk about this later."
Bakugo looked really angry at Midoriya, and he tried to avoid eye contact with him. He couldn't blame him for feeling this way, especially after what happened with Chrysalis earlier. Bakugo didn't like this, but Mr. Aizawa activated his quirk on him and he sat down. They all felt bad that they were doing this so suddenly, but it was the only way to help Midoriya.
"Okay. Get in before I change my mind," Mr. Aizawa said to them.
Marinette and Midoriya walked into the private room, and Mr. Aizawa shut the door behind them. There was one light in here, and they followed Mr. Aizawa towards the elevator. They felt a little chilly in here as they kept walking towards it. Midoriya felt chills all over him as they stepped inside of it. Mr. Aizawa pressed a button, and they headed down towards the next room. Marinette and Midoriya shared a look and felt that same eerie feeling coming from the next room. Once they got closer to it, Mr. Aizawa turned to them looking really serious.
"Midoriya, let me and Marinette handle this. I don't want Chrysalis getting anywhere near you," Mr. Aizawa demanded, "Whatever you do to get Gabriel to help us out, you stay away from him and her. Got it?"
"Y-Yes sir!" Midoriya said a little too loudly.
Soon the elevator stopped moving, and Mr. Aizawa walked into the private room with the cage. Midoriya and Marinette were surprised to see how big the room was considering it was just a room with a cage in it. They spotted Chrysalis who was looking sleepy and annoyed. Then they all looked at Gabriel, and he looked a little surprised to see Midoriya here with both Mr. Aizawa and Marinette. They were also surprised to see that he had detransformed, then again Midoriya's Miraculous was damaged. They just thought that it being damaged caused his transformation to wear off. He smiled, and Mr. Aizawa knew that this might take a bit of talking and convincing to pull this off.
"Gabriel, we need to talk," Mr. Aizawa said in a stern tone.
"Are you trying to be formal or something? I think you lost that when you locked me in this cage," Gabriel said back, "I'm just surprised that you brought Izuku down here considering everything that's happened with him lately."
Midoriya flinched when he looked at him and felt the need to look away from him.
"We're here because we think that you can help us with something important," Mr. Aizawa said to him.
Gabriel's eyes widened in shock, but tried not to give anything away. Midoriya noticed that he was looking at Chrysalis who was still kind of sleepy. She looked like she wasn't even really interested in this conversation, and he wasn't sure if she even knew that he was down here with Mr. Aizawa.
"You need my help? This is rich," Gabriel said to him with a frustrated expression, "You lock me up in this cage with very little food, and now you want me to help you with something. With Marinette Dupain Cheng here, I can tell that it's something that has to do with maybe one of the grimoires."
Marinette's eyes widened, and she tried to keep calm. Gabriel could tell that he had figured it out. Marinette stood up to him since he was the one behind those bars.
"Gabriel. You and I both know that Izuku's Miraculous is damaged," Marinette said to him, "You know what that means, right?"
Gabriel looked at Marinette and noticed that she was determined about something important. He looked at Chrysalis and then at Midoriya's Miraculous. It was glitching, going back and forth between camouflage mode and activate mode. Just by looking at her, she looked like she wasn't feeling good from the effects from the Miraculous. He knew what this meant and felt bad for her and what she was going through.
"Of course I know what that means. It's the reason I'm even here in the first place," Gabriel said back, "But why do you care? It's not like Lila's done anything for you."
"No, maybe not," Marinette explained to him, "But something's come up. Izuku's in trouble because of it being damaged. One for All is still connected to it, which means that he's getting the same effects as Lila here. The longer she wears it, the more those damages are effecting both him and Lila. You and I both know what's going to happen if we don't do something about it soon."
Gabriel's eyes widened in shock, having no idea that Midoriya was feeling those same effects as her. He looked at him and could tell that he wasn't feeling good just based on the bags under his eyes and how pale he looked. He looked back at Chrysalis and knew that he couldn't bear to see her like this. Something about this situation just felt so wrong, especially since Lila didn't get it damaged in the first place. It was that AllMight guy, and he felt his fists clenching out of sheer anger.
"Maybe you should go talk to AllMight about this. He is the one who broke your Miraculous in the first place!" Gabriel cried out, "For a retired Symbol of Peace, he sure knows how to mess things up."
Midoriya felt that and got a little frustrated at what he had to say. Mr. Aizawa noticed this and kept Midoriya away from him. He made sure that Midoriya would keep his distance from him as they talked it through.
"Gabriel. Going after AllMight isn't going to change anything," Marinette explained to him, "The best thing that we can do is fix Izuku's Miraculous. Don't you want to do something that might actually help Lila? She clearly needs the help. Adrien wants to help too, but he can't because it reminds him too much of his mom. If you help us, maybe you can finally talk to him. Set things right with him."
Midoriya was shocked to hear her mention Adrien and was worried where this was going.
"Marinette, I don't think--"
Marinette gave Midoriya a look that got him to stop talking. She looked back at Gabriel and noticed that he was contemplating on all of this. He looked like he was actually considering helping them. He looked at Chrysalis and knew that whether or not he had the Butterfly Miraculous, he felt like he had to do something. He looked back at Mr. Aizawa and nodded at him, knowing that he had to help them.
Mr. Aizawa stared at him, knowing full well that he wanted to help out. He walked over to the cage doors and unlocked all of the locks on the door. He walked over to Gabriel and unlocked his chains. He felt a sense of relief when those chains came off of him. Mr. Aizawa walked him out of the cage, and Chrysalis noticed Gabriel walking out of it. Her eyes widened in shock and tried to get up. She looked furious to see Gabriel walking out of here so easily.
"You old man! You let Gabriel out, but not me?!" Chrysalis cried out, "I'll get you for this! Gabriel, get me out of here!"
Gabriel turned to look at her, and they all got worried for a minute. Then he turned away from her, making her even more frustrated with him. Chrysalis tried to get out of her chains, but could barely stand up. Mr. Aizawa shocked her with a remote, causing her to get weak kneed.
"You traitor! Why are you helping them?!" Chrysalis cried out, "You should be helping me out of these chains!"
"I am helping you. This is for your own good, Lila," Gabriel said back, "I'll be back to get that Miraculous. It needs to be fixed, and you know it."
Chrysalis's eyes widened in shock and tried to get out of her chains. She could barely move, but tried to fly. It wasn't budging in any way shape or form. She was stuck there by herself. They all left the private room, and Midoriya felt bad for her.
But he knew that Lila would be back to normal soon enough.
"Gabriel!"
In Class 1-M's dormitory...
Adrien was busy doing his homework with some of his classmates. He couldn't concentrate on it ever since Midoriya and Marinette left to go ask Mr. Aizawa for help with their homework. He kept looking at the door, expecting them to come walking through at any moment. He bit his pencil, wondering what they could be doing. It couldn't be their homework that they were talking to him about. It had to do with the grimoire, but he didn't understand what Mr. Aizawa couldn't have possibly known about it.
Then he looked down at his other ring again. All he could do was stare at it. He even looked back at the coffee table with some decoded recipes. He didn't get the chance to look over there with everyone doing their homework. I would look suspicious if he went over there to look at them.
He could feel an itching feeling coming through his finger.
"Adrien, dude are you okay?" Nino asked him.
"Huh? Oh! I-I just... I just wonder what Izuku and Marinette are up to," Adrien explained to them, "They've been pretty quiet."
"Yeah, but they are trying to figure out how to fix his Miraculous," Iida said back, "I'm sure that they are just busy."
Adrien looked back at the door and nothing happened. He let out a sigh and tried to go back to his homework. He couldn't help but play around with his ring as he thought about what to do about his math homework. Something about playing around with it helps him relax, even if it was poisoned. For some reason, he wondered what his father was up to in that cage they've got him locked up in.
Adrien tried to shake it off and went back to his homework. He did as much as he could, but then he heard the doors open. He was happy to finally have Midoriya and Marinette back so soon. But then his eyes widened in shock when his eyes met his father standing there with Mr. Aizawa. Everyone noticed that Adrien was looking frightened of something and turned around to see his father standing there, free from his cage and chains.
"Mr. Aizawa, what is HawkMoth doing here?!" Iida cried out, "He shouldn't be anywhere near Midoriya or any of us for that matter!"
"Yeah! He could be working on a plan with those akumas!" Nino cried out.
Mr. Aizawa stared at everyone with his quirk, and they all quieted down immediately.
"Everyone, keep quiet. I wouldn't normally do this, but Midoriya needs the help," Mr. Aizawa explained, "Gabriel here is the only one that we know of that's made and fixed a Miraculous before. We need his help."
Everyone hesitated, but went back to working on their homework. Adrien watched his father more closely and was shocked to see him actually cooperating with them. Marinette went over to the coffee table and pulled out the grimoire to get started on fixing Midoriya's Miraculous. Adrien tried to go back to his homework, but with his father around, he knew he wouldn't be able to concentrate. He couldn't even go over to Marinette to talk to her about his ring that had poison in it. He had to do something, but there was no way he could with him around. Adrien couldn't stop looking over his shoulder as his father sat with Mr. Aizawa and the others.
His father was helping them with Midoriya's Miraculous.
Another amazing chapter!
I like where this is going! Gabriel is finally helping them. Don't get me wrong, I don't mind helping them. But I don't think he deserves redemption. I do however like the thought of him helping out and seeing things that go on around U.A. I won't spoil anything, but I am excited to keep going with this. We'll see what happens. This is a pretty short chapter anyway.
Adrien just can't seem to find the right time to tell Marinette.
What's going to happen next??
More to come soon!
