Job interviews and college stuff, the chapters have to be short for a bit.
The Next Day- After Four PM
Hinata felt terrible for Mika, of all of her classmates that deserved better it was him and Naruto. She had seen his irritation for years, she couldn't blame him as despite being smarter than her entire class he was treated like a nobody. She may love Naruto, and her heart with with him, her mind was with Mika. However, more than that, more than her mind, was her admiration. She saw how hard he worked, and knew that he could be great if someone let him, and stopped holding him back. So, with all she was, she marched to his training ground ( Not far from where Naruto trained, how she found him working out the first time) with a bento box of the dumplings she knew he liked.
She should have used her eyes, as the moment she stepped into the training ground, six senbon flew toward her head. Her body froze, she could not move a muscle as they moved toward her face.
And then, in that instant before they hit her, Mika shoved her aside and the senbon pierced the ground.
He turned, frowning. "You okay?"
She nodded, petrified. Then, to her shock and credit, she held out her box to Mika. "Here, I made these for you."
His frown deepened. "Uh, thanks?"
"I saw you, noticed how annoyed you were when you were not given a team. I've seen you training here before, I know how much you work at it. I thought, maybe, you'd like these. "
He opened the box, smiling with all the warmth he could muster. "Thank you, I love dumplings."
"I see you eating them a lot at the academy." Then, to even greater shock, she kneeled. He stopped at her action, but the words flowed and she revealed her true intentions. "Please, please help me! I am weak, I want to be strong, for myself, my clan, my sister and so many others. I need to be greater, to actually matter. I cannot achieve my goals as I am. I have seen you mold yourself, without clan blood into a strong ninja. Help me as you helped yourself."
"""
Senbon, aside from Mika's tanto, they were one of his true loves in combat. Sharp, precise and capable of great danger or simple irritation. It just depended on how they were used. However, as sharp as he was, he would never have guessed Hinata's request.
"Uh, sure." He helped her up. "But don't you have a sensei? And a team?"
She frowned. "Kiba, who is a walking ego, and Shino is too silent to help. Kurenai is kind, but she won't push me in the way I need. I know you will. I know you work harder than anyone, even Sasuke or Naruto. You fight, you train, and you are more than anyone knows. I need you, your drive, to push me to where I truly need to be."
'What do I get out of helping her... connections to the Hyuuga, a skillful teammate, and allies where I may not otherwise have one. I cannot think of any reason to ignore hre request.' Smiling, he nodded. "Sure, I could use a sparring buddy. Really, not having anyone that can keep up with me has been hampering me massively. Wanna spar on the water? I am sure that's the best place to start."
Hinata nodded, eagerly marched toward the pond, ready to begin her life anew.
