Chapter 5: InterDimensional Tournament
Duel Academy is halfway complete with construction, and Heartland is a third of the way complete.
In order to celebrate the success on how for the rebuilding process has come along, LDS had decided to hold a tournament that would allow competitors from all 4 Dimensions.
When Osrelios heard about it, he had to join.
It turns out that it would be held similar to Battle City, even if the organizers didn't know that.
Each Dimension would have around 100 of its residents duke it out until one of them was on top.
Once each Dimension had a champion, the four would then all gather and duel in a regular tournament style.
The rule was, if you were participating in the tournament, if you lost three times, you were out.
When there is only two participants left in a Dimension, when they duel, the loser will be out of the tournament regardless of how many tries they have left.
Since Oz was technically a resident of the Synchro Dimension, he had to participate there.
Yuto, however, was given the choice of participating in either the XYZ or Synchro Dimension. Since he was born XYZ, but lives in Synchro.
He, of course, chose XYZ.
His reasoning was that he hoped to face Oz in either the semifinals or the finals.
Oz understood his reasoning.
Currently it was day 1 of the InterDimensional Tournament.
Oz was walking along the refurbished streets of Lower Neo Domino.
Something that has happened for the city of Neo Domino, is that the wealth of the Tops have been distributed to the Commons and Tops alike.
It did not take long for changes to appear. The streets of the Commons have been cleaned dramatically and renamed from Commons to Lower Neo Domino. Lower in elevation and not status.
As Oz walked, he saw Crow.
"Yo! Crow!" Oz shouts.
Crow turned his head and saw Oz.
"Yo!" Crow greeted back, as he walked over.
"Looking for an opponent?" Oz asked.
"I am. I've dueled a few people already, and I'm still looking to duel more. I figured that the more people that duel, the sooner the tournament reaches the end, that way, I can duel an opponent from one of the other Dimensions." Crow explained.
"Impatient I see." Oz commented.
"Hey!"
Oz then laughed. "I kid, I kid."
"Well, since your here... I challenge you to a duel!" Crow declared.
Oz then smirked. "Perfect opportunity to test out a new deck then."
"Duel!" The Duelists shout.
"I'll be taking the first turn." Oz declared.

"I'll start by summoning Astellar of the White Forest."

"I now use her effect to discard a Spell/Trap and Special Summon a Light attribute Spellcaster Tuner from my deck. I summon Rucia of the White Forest."
Rucia of the White Forest: atk: 800
"And because I discarded it to activate the effect of a monster, I can set the card I just discarded: Beware the White Forest." Oz said as the card set itself from the GY.
"Next I tune my level 2 Astellar to my level 4 Rucia. Hidden in the forest of white, holding sinister intentions, evolve now Rucia! Synchro Summon! Level: 6! Rciela, Sinister Soul of the White Forest!" Oz chanted.
Rciela, Sinister Soul of the White Forest: atk: 2000
"With Rciela in play, all Spellcaster and Illusion Synchro monsters I control gain 500 atk, and are unable to be destroyed by card effect." Oz explained. "Additionally, by sending my face-down Beware the White Forest to the GY, I can add a White Forest card or any Light Spellcaster To my hand. I add Woes of the White Forest."

"Next, by discarding a Spell/Trap, I can Special Summon Elzette of the White Forest."

"Just like Beware the White Forest, my spell card: Tales of the White Forest also sets itself from the GY when sent there for a monster effect."
"Now I set 2 cards and end my turn." Oz declared.
"My turn. Draw!" Crow declared.
Crow LP: 4000 hand: 6
"Trap activate!" Oz declared immediately. "Sinful Spoils Subdual! I Special Summon a level 5 or higher Illusion monster from my Deck! Come forth, the master of nightmarish magic: Nightmare Magician!" Oz declared.

"Huh... a strong monster just like that..." Crow stated.
"Anyway, since you control a monster and I don't, I can Normal Summon Blackwing - Sirocco the Dawn without tribute." Crow declared as he summoned the high level monster.
Blackwing - Sirocco the Dawn: atk: 2000
"And next, since I control a Blackwing other than a copy of itself, I can Special Summon Blackwing - Vata the Emblem of Wandering from my hand."
Blackwing - Vata the Emblem of Wandering: atk: 800
"Now I tune my level 5 Sirocco the Dawn to my level 2 Vata the Emblem of Wandering! Spread your jet-black wings, and storm forth in tandem with the roaring thunder! A slash of lightning! Synchro Summon! Cascade, Assault Blackwing - Raikiri the Rain Shower!" Crow chanted.
Assault Blackwing - Raikiri the Rain Shower: atk: 2600
"I activate Raikiri's effect. I know that your Synchro monster protects all of your similar Synchro monsters, but the same can't be said for your Magician!"
Raikiri slashed the air and sent a slash wave at Nightmare Magician, tearing it in two.
In response, Oz decided to fortify his defenses.
"I activate the Trap: Woes of the White Forest! This allows me to Summon a White Forest monster directly from my deck, and then I can immediately Synchro Summon. I Special Summon Silvy of the White Forest!"
Silvy of the White Forest: atk: 1500
"And now, I tune my level 2 Elzette to my level 4 Silvy! Hidden away in the forest of white, with the power to tame even the wildest of hounds, evolve Silvy! Synchro Summon! Level: 6! Silvera, Wolf Tamer of the White Forest!" Oz chanted.

"Silvera has an effect that is triggered by its summon, but I'll be nice and not activate it." Oz stated.
"How merciful." Crow said sarcastically.
"Anyway, with Rciela on the field, Silvera gains a boost, however Silvera shares that boosting effect. Additionally Silvera grants all my Spellcaster and Illusion Synchro monsters the ability to deal double piercing Battle Damage." Oz explained.

"Things just got harder, and he only has two level 6 Synchros." Crow commented.
"Since there's a monster with 2000 or more atk on the field, I can Special Summon Blackwing - Sharnga the Waning Moon."
Blackwing - Sharnga the Waning Moon: atk: 500
"Next I Summon Blackwing - Bora the Spear!"
Blackwing - Bora the Spear: atk: 1700
"Next I tune my level 4 Bora the Spear to level 2 Sharnga the Waning Moon! Brandish the great blade of myth, heroic raptor! Synchro Summon! Level: 6! Blackwing - Nothung the Starlight!" Crow chanted.
Blackwing - Nothung the Starlight: atk: 2400
"When Nothung is Summoned, he can lower your LP by 800 and do the same to the atk and Def of one of your monsters! I choose your Rciela!"
Nothung swung his sword and sent two waves of energy at Oz and Rciela respectively.

"Next, Raikiri will attack Rciela!"
Since Oz only had a Normal Spell face-down, and toning in his hand, he had nothing to stop the attack.
Rciela was destroyed.

"With Rciela gone, Silvera weakens." Oz stated.
Silvera, Wolf Tamer of the White Forest: atk:2400
"Now Nothung will attack Silvera. When a Blackwing I control battles, by discarding Kalut the Moon Shadow, I can increase its atk by 1400."
Blackwing - Nothung the Starlight: atk: 3800
Nothung then cut Silvera in two.

"I end my turn with a face-down." Crow concluded.
"My turn. Draw!" Oz declared.

"I banish my face-down Tales of the White Forest and my Woes of the White Forest in my GY, to activate this special card: I activate Illusionary Fusion! This is a special card I created just for this deck. What it allows me to do is shuffle monsters from my hand, field, GY, or Banishment back to the Deck/Extra Deck, in order to Fusion Summon using them. I return Nightmare Magician and Rciela."
"Soul filled with sinister intent, gain the power of the Illusion and evolve into a greater strength! Fusion Summon! Level: 6! Azamina Mu Rcielago!" Oz chanted.
The fusion variant of Rucia appeared.

"When she is Fusion Summoned, I can add a Sinful Spoils card to my hand. I'll add a second Subdual."
"Next I banish Illusionary Fusion from my GY to Fusion Summon by banishing materials from my Deck or GY. I banish Nightmare Magician and Silvera!"
"Wolf Tamer who lives in the hidden woods, gain the power of Illusion and become the beast that you sought to tame! Fusion Summon! Level: 6! Azamina Rhea Silvera!" Oz chanted.

Oz then smirked. "Rcielago lowers the atk and Def of your monsters equal to the number of Azamina monsters I control times 500. Since I control 2, your monsters loose 1000 points."
Blackwing - Raikiri the Rain Shower: atk: 1600
Blackwing - Nothung the Starlight: atk: 1400
"It's a reverse of last time." Crow commented.
"What's more is that with Rhea Silvera, my Azamina monsters, other than itself, gain the ability to destroy double damage."
"Similar, but weaker than before." Crow commented.
"Now, Rcielago will attack Raikiri the Rain Shower."
Rcielago shot a bolt of dark magic at Raikiri.

"I activate Black Wing Revenge." Crow declared. "I Special Summon two Blackwing - Black Creat Tokens in Defense Position."

"Now, Silvera attack Nothung!"
Silvera charged forward and bit down with her massive wolf heads.

"Now I end my turn with a face down." Oz declared.
"My turn. Draw." Crow declared.

"I Normal Summon Blackwing - Kochi the Daybreak."
Blackwing - Kochi the Daybreak: atk: 700
"Now I tune my two level 2 Tokens to my level 4 Kochi. Gust fiercely, storm! Gain the will of steel and the speed of light to sublime your form! Synchro Summon! Blackwing - Silverwind the Ascendant!"
Blackwing - Silverwind the Ascendant: atk: 2800
"When Silverwind is summoned, I can destroy up to two monsters you control who's Def is lower than Silverwind's atk. Both of your monsters fit the criteria, so say goodbye to them. Fortunately for you, I can't conduct my Battle Phase this turn."
Both of Oz' monsters were taken down by Silverwind.
"When my two Fusion monsters are taken down, they allow me to grab a Sinful Spoils spell and trap respectively." Oz explained as he added two cards to his hand. "I add Sinful Spoils of Betrayal - Silvera, and Sinful Spoils of Doom Rciela."
"I end my turn." Crow declared.
"In that case, my turn!" Oz shouts.

"By sending Sinful Spoils of Betrayal - Silvera from my hand to the GY, I can Special Summon Diabellstar the Black Witch!"

"Since Diabellstar was Special Summoned, I can set any Sinful Spoils spell/trap from my deck. I choose Sinful Spoils Deception. Then I activate it, although I won't need it." Oz explained.
"Now I activate Sinful Spoils of Doom - Rciela! This quick-play spell grants a level 7 or higher Spellcaster, such as Diabellstar, and grants them complete immunity to other monster effects for the turn. Additionally, all of your monsters lose atk equal to the target's. This means all your monsters lose 2500 atk."
Blackwing - Silverwind the Ascendant: atk: 300
"Finish this Diabellstar!" Oz shouts.
Diabellstar then shot out a bolt of dark magic.
"We won't go down without a fight, will we Silverwind!?" Crow exclaims.
Silverwind then went charging in.
Diabellstar then brandished her sword and clashed with Silverwind.
The two stayed inside clash for a minute before Diabellstar smirked and shot magic in Silverwind's face, then she swung down with her sword, cleaving him in two.
Crow LP: 0
"Well, that's strike one for me." Crow commented as he put away his cards.
"Hey, that means you still have a chance." Oz said.
Oz then held out a hand to Crow.
Crow took the hand and they shook hands.
"Good luck in the tournament." Crow said as he walked away.
Oz smiled as he began to walk in a different direction.
Soon he came across two people who he wasn't seen in a while.
"Yugo, Rin. Nice to see the two of you."
The two in question turned to see him.
"Oh, Oz. Convenient timing. I just beat Yugo in a Duel." Rin said, turning to face Oz.
Oz gave Yugo a questioning look.
Yugo sighed. "She did. But only because I was distracted!"
"Or because he couldn't figure out how to play his new Pendulum cards." Rin snickered.
"I thought we agreed to not talk about that!?" Yugo exclaimed.
"... I could help you with your Pendulum problem." Oz offered.
"You can!?"
Oz then gave a confused look. "Have you not seen the duels were I use Pendulum?"
Yugo blinked. "Oh."
Oz placed a hand on his face while Rin was laughing.
"Anyway..." Oz began. "You just place the Pendulum cards on the far left and far right of the Duel Disk blade, that's how you set the Pendulum Scale. In order to Pendulum Summon, you need to have monsters in your hand, or face-up in your Extra Deck who's levels, or Ranks in certain circumstances, are in between the Scales. Let's say I have scale 2 and 9, this means I would be able to summon levels 3 through 8."
"Ooooh." Yugo says. "Now I get it."
Yugo then pointed at Oz. "I challenge you to a duel!"
Oz shrugged. "Okay then."
Oz and Yugo then took position.
"Duel!" They shout.

"I-" Oz began before being immediately interrupted.
"I'll start!" Yugo declares.
"Thanks for the lesson, now let's see me in action! I set the Pendulum Scale with Scale 1 Speedroid Marble Machine and Scale 4 Speedroid Wing Synchron. With them I can Summon monsters from levels 2 and 3." Yugo declared.
"Wow, he got it right away." Rin commented.
"The scales don't matter because I use Wing Synchron's Pendulum Effect! By destroying both it and a level 2 Wind Pendulum monster in my Pendulum Zone, I can Synchro Summon my ace!"
"I tune my level 2 Marble Machine to my level 5 Wing Synchron. Spread those wondrous and beautiful wings, and strike down your enemies at the speed of light! Synchro Summon! Appear now! Level 7: Clear Wing Synchro Dragon!" Yugo chanted.
Clear Wing appeared and roared.

"How do you like that?! I call that move a direct Pendulum Synchro." Yugo gloated.
Oz did not look impressed.
'Right... forgot what I was dealing with.'
"Next I Normal Summon my Speedroid Horse stilts."
Speedroid Horse Stilts: atk: 1100
"By Summoning Horse Stilts, I can Special Summon a level 4 or below Speedroid from my hand. I choose Speedroid Red-Eyed Dice!"
Speedroid Red-Eyed Dice: atk: 100
"I use Red-Eyed Dice to change Horse Stilts to level 2. And now I tune my now level 2 Horse Stilts to my level 1 Red-Eyed Dice. Welcome my new monster! Synchro Summon! Synchro-Tuner: Hi-Speedroid Cork Shooter!" Yugo declared.

Oz' eyes widened. 'A Synchro-Tuner!? Does that mean he holds enough Spirit Energy to Accel Synchro outside a Turbo Duel!?'
A little fact about Osrelios. Due to being the one to use Odd-Eyes ArcRay Dragon, and its power of condensed and refined Natural Energy, as well as the excess Dimensional energy from the prevention of the Dimensions merging, he gained the ability to automatically perform an Accel Synchro without having to go the Speed of Light.
"Now I use Cork Shooter's effect to revive its materials! Come back Horse Stilts and Red-Eyed Dice!"

"Now I tune my level 4 Horse Stilts to my level 1 Red-Eyed Dice! Lively soul of swordplay. Come, Level 5! Hi-Speedroid Chanbara!" Yugo chanted.

"Now here we go! I'll show you the same power you showed off against Jack Atlas! I tune my level 3 Hi-Speedroid Cork Shooter to my level 7 Clear Wing Synchro Dragon! Spread your-... huh?"
Yugo stopped, seeing that literally nothing happened. There was no error on his Duel Disk, but nothing happened.
Oz and Rin just stared.
Rin was very confused, Oz was processing what was going on.
Oz then had a small smile, it then grew as he began to laugh.
He then started laughing hard.
"Hey! What's so funny?!" Yugo shouted.
Oz continued to laugh, leaving Rin confused and Yugo upset.
Eventually he calmed down.
"Ah, man that was a good laugh." He said running a tear out of his eye.
"Anyway, the reason nothing happened is because of you lacking the conditions to Accel Synchro."
"I lack the conditions?" Yugo questioned.
"Basically not only do you need to clear your mind, but you also have to move at Light Speed."
"Light speed!?" Yugo and Rin exclaimed.
"There is an alternative, which I fulfill. That condition being containing a large amount of Synchro Energy in your body and/or soul. Since I used ArcRay, and was pretty much at the center of keeping the Dimensions apart, their energies flooded into my body as a consequence. Thus I've been able to easily perform the advanced methods of summoning without really any difficulty."
"It appears that you don't fulfill the second option, which leads you to having zero ways to Accel Synchro during this Duel. If it was a Turbo Duel, then things might be different."
"Ugh. Fine, then I'll set a card and end my turn."
"My turn. Draw." Oz declared.

"I'll start by activating Extinguishing the Ashened. With it, I send a Dark Pyro monster from my Deck to the GY, and then add 1 level 5 or higher Dark Pyro monster from my GY to my hand. I send Veidos the Eruption Dragon of Extinction and then add it to my hand."
"Next I play my Quick-Play Spell: Awakening of Veidos. With it, I place my Field Spell: Obsidim, the Ashened City in your Field Zone face up, directly from my Deck."
Oz' deck then shuffled and ejected a copy of the Field Spell, then Oz threw it over to Yugo. Yugo immediately placed it in his Field Zone.
"Now, since you have a card in your Field Zone, Awakening of Veidos allows me to add a level 5 or higher Dark Pyro monster from my Deck to my hand. I choose Hero of the Ashened City."
Oz then added the card. His Deck shuffling again.
"Wow, his hand is still at 6." Rin commented.
"Since Obsidim is on the field, I can Special Summon these cards from my hand: Hero of the Ashened City, King of the Ashened City, and Priestess of the Ashened City!"
Hero of the Ashened City: atk: 2600
King of the Ashened City: Def: 2700
Priestess of the Ashened City: Def: 1300
"Priestess' effect activates upon summon. I can add any Ashened card to my hand. I choose a second copy of my Field Spell." Oz declared.
"Next I activate Veidos' effect from my hand. By destroying the copy of Obsidim on your field, I can Special Summon Veidos to your field."
The Field Spell was destroyed by a powerful eruption of Lava.

"Now, Veidos allows me to set an Ashened Spell/Trap directly from my Deck."
"Not if I use Clear Wing's effect!" Yugo countered.
"Planning on destroying Veidos to have Clear Wing gain atk? Well, not if I activate Super Polymerization! By discarding a card, such as my Spearhead of the Ashened City, I can Fusion Summon using monsters on either field as material. I fuse Veidos with Cork Shooter." Oz declared.
"Flames of Destruction, Machine that embodies a child's toy, become one and form the mechanized Phoenix! Be reborn! Level: 8! Blaze Fenix, the Burning Bombardment Bird!" Oz chanted.

"You shouldn't have tried to negate Veidos. Now I can use the effects of high level monsters without worry. Next I activate my second copy of Obsidim. Now something you should know is that during my turn, Obsidim turns all of your Special Summoned monsters into Pyro monsters."
"Now I use Blaze Fenix' effect to deal 300 damage for each card on the field. You have Clear Wing and Chanbara, as well as a face down, meaning 3. I have my Field Spell and 4 Pyro monsters, so it's a total of 8. Take 2400 points of damage!"
Blaze Fenix fired a wave of fire at Yugo.
Yugo LP: 1600
"Blaze Fenix can't attack the turn I use this effect." Oz stated.
"However... that doesn't mean my other monsters can't. Hero of the Ashened City! Attack Clear Wing Synchro Dragon!"
Hero charged forward with his large weapon.
Clear Wing responded by charging in faster.
Hero had to dodge Clear Wing's strikes several times before hitting Clear Wing with a well timed strike to the chest, taking it down.
Yugo LP: 1500
"With that I end my turn. And doing so, allows me to use Obsidim's final effect. By returning a copy of it that resides in my GY to the bottom of my Deck, I can draw a card."
"My turn. Draw!" Yugo declared.

"I Normal Summon Speedroid Tri-Eyed Dice." Yugo stated.
Speedroid Tri-Eyed Dice: atk: 300
"I tune my level 5 Chanbara to my level 3 Tri-Eyed Dice! High flying kite, take the form of a dragon, and soar forth! Synchro Summon! Level: 8! Hi-Speedroid Kite Drake!" Yugo chanted.
Hi-Speedroid Kite Drake: atk: 3000
"When Kite Drake is Synchro Summoned, it destroys all other cards on the field!" Yugo declared.
Kite Drake then sent out waves of wind that tore through Oz' whole field.
"Since Obsidim was destroyed, I can Special Summon an Ashened monster from my Deck. I choose a second copy of King of the Ashened City."
King of the Ashened City: Def: 2700
Yugo grit his teeth. "Kite Drake, destroy King of the Ashened City!"
Kite Drake then flew at high speeds and cut through King.
"I end my turn." Yugo declared.
"My turn. Draw!" Oz shouts.

"I activate Pot of Greed!" Oz declared, as he drew two cards.
I then saw two cards that he can use. He then smiled.
"I yet again activate Obsidim!"
"Again!?" Yugo exclaimed.
"Next I Special Summon a second copy of Priestess of the Ashened City."
Priestess of the Ashened City: atk: 1200
"Due to her effect. I add Shaman of the Ashened City to my hand. Next I'll Special Summon him."
Shaman of the Ashened City: atk: 1300
"I use Shaman's effect to return Veidos, Hero, and a copy of King to my Deck." Oz declared.
He took out the three cards and let them be shuffled into his Deck.
"Then Shaman allows me to add a copy of Obsidim to my hand."
"Now I banish Extinguishing of the Ashened to activate its final effect! I can now Fusion Summon using monsters from my hand and Field. I fuse Priestess and Shaman. Two dark flames consumed leave behind only embers! Fusion Summon! Level: 8! Embers of the Ashened!" Oz chanted.
Embers of the Ashened: atk: 2900
Oz then smirked. "Embers, attack Kite Drake!"
"Huh!?" Yugo and Rin exclaim.
"Your monster is weaker, why are you attacking!?" Yugo questions.
"Because of its effect. When battling a Pyro monster, which your Kite Drake is currently because of Obsidim, Embers can destroy it and then immediately attack again."
Embers ignited his club and swung at a charging Kite Drake. The swing caused Kite Drake to burst into flames.
Embers then conjured a small fireball and threw it at Yugo's feet.
Yugo LP: 0
"Two losses in a row!?" Yugo exclaimed.
"That was probably because you failed to perform an Accel Synchro." Oz commented as he walked over. "Perhaps its best for you to try and resonate your feelings with Clear Wing next time your in a Turbo Duel. Clear Wing definitely has enough energy to evolve through an Accel Synchro, and perhaps even a Double Tuning. You just have to harness that energy and potential."
"You think so?" Yugo asks.
"It's less of 'think', more of 'know'. You hold one of the most Synchro energy rich cards in existence, any Synchro method is yours to learn and master."
Yugo took in the information and smirked. "Aw, yeah! Look out world! I'm going to master every method to Synchro there is!"
Yugo then ran off.
Surprised that he just decided to run off, Oz and Rin watched in confusion.
"Well... I better follow him and make sure he doesn't cause any problems." Rin stated.
"Yeah... Good luck in the tournament." Oz said as he walked away in the other direction.
Oz then smiled. This tournament was going to be fun.
