That's Principal Takeda to you! 4 - (Original School Setting + Crossovers, feat. Principal!OC-I)
It was the day- the day no one dreamed of (except those that have nothing to lose, I guess).
Still, I refrained from fully showing my despair as I patiently waited in my office, and held back the intense itch of jumping out of the window as soon as I felt her approaching. I don't know how or why, but I had this inner sense that told me when people lusting after me were approaching my office.
In most occasions, that could be easily shrugged away through chiding the person or telling them to get back to work (mostly because those were either students or teachers), but the one I was dealing with was someone whose lustful energy was so dense and so strongly aimed at me, that I felt instinctively threatened by such entity.
The worst part, and by far what made me aware of how superficial Yuki could be around 'normal-looking' entities, was that Tsujii Juria was a good-looking young woman with brown hair that mixed with her equally brown-shaded fur, tails, and... her giddy green eyes. She was curvaceous, and around my age.
The issue was not one of appearance. Not to me, at least. The true problem was her very personality.
If around most people she was a bombastic construction workers' chief, around me she was-
"Shu-ni-chi-kyun~!" She greeted in a sing-song tone while slamming the door of my office open. "Finally~!"
"Juria-san, don't damage my office."
"Worry not, I'll fix any damage I do to your lovely workplace. I would never seek to destroy this very place of wisdom and... of masculinity," The woman hummed, shuddering at that last bit, her tails shifting to allow her to calmly sit in front of me. "So, that's the issue?"
She aimed her delicate finger at the broken window.
"Yes."
"It will be fixed before the end of the day. You know, I may do it herself to... show my interest."
"You have shown plenty of that, Juria-san," I admitted dryly, closing my eyes for a moment. "Alas, I have to be honest. I found your efforts flattering, but I don't see you the same way. In fact, you are being outrageously flirty in a situation which I can't accept. So, it's either 'you stop it', or 'I stop you'."
Her eyes widened in surprise at that promise of utter destruction but... she beamed.
"Waah~, this reminds me of when we first met, Shunichi-kyun!"
I facepalmed, knowing that there was no hope trying to be diplomatic with this scary woman. Sure, I could 'try' to hurt her if she decided to get a bit too comfy with intimacy, but I knew from dealing with Yuki that Kitsune were inherently more than just 'physical monsters'. Their abilities lied mostly in seals, charms, and even curses.
So, out of a case of self-preservation due to my lack of known magical immunity, I decided against trying my luck too much. I just had the woman dismissed after she had given me the list of details I had to keep in mind over the workers she would send me, and the fee the government intended to pay for the reparation.
With this first hurdle out of the way for today, I focused on the paperwork, and I had to hand out a few detentions as a couple of students were caught trying to sneak into the school after failing to arrive in time. This was, by far, a rather tame situation, but I expected this to develop into something more complex.
Or maybe it wasn't at school that I would find a source of headache.
In fact, part of me expected for trouble to come as I started to weed out what would be Kondo's replacement. Today was the day I would see a list of candidates, and I had a lot of those to deal with. It was a rather careful process, one that was perfected each time we found out about any bad teachers that got into the school.
In the past, this was a common and dreadful occurrence, but in recent times this had stopped to Kondo in the last few years. So, it was important to never slip up while keeping my own guard over some of the people that came over, thinking they could use this opportunity to flash an hypno app or something of the kind to 'trick me'.
Turns out that there is an easy solution to this sort of manipulation: special glasses meant to repel all sort of known hypnotic waves. Never failed me once, and I had thus broken a few phones and a few noses of people coming buy.
Some would even try to have their lawyer tailor some bullshit to use against the school for the damage suffered, ignoring that part of the interview's details mentioned how the office had cameras and that everything was monitored during the visits in my office.
Hence why the school had hardly lost any cases. The few times we had to pay compensation was due to excessive use of force. Luckily for me, I found a good lawyer that explained to me 'how much' is 'too much'. And thus I always keep myself from being too brutal with my 'self-defense'.
As the hours went by, and I felt my brain turning to mush with the constant mix of 'I deserve this post' and 'I can control you now!', I finally was given a blessed choice in the middle of that damning list.
The woman had dark blue hair, light blue eyes. She was wearing a full-sleeved white shirt, a blue pencil skirt, and she carried herself with incredible elegance and 'restraint'. Once she sat down and we shook hands following a brief introduction, I opened the folder with the files she sent me over for the inteview.
Name - Aoki Reika
Age - 29
Previous Experiences - Nanairogaoka Middle School (Japanese Literature Teacher)
Nodding at those few of the numerous listed details, I started to question her through the classic school stuff. Nothing stood out as the woman was quite determined to pass. When inquired about her 'reasoning' to leave Nanairogaoka, Reika was quite honest.
"I was in a position where the wage wouldn't have been enough to sustain my current living conditions, so I asked the principal there if there was a way to either increase my wage through extra hours of work, or if he could advise me a position that could allow me to make what I need. I was told of your school, Takeda-san, and I would like to make an effort in joining the teaching staff."
I nodded twice at such flawless response, even more as Reika came with a recommendation letter penned by the principal of the school she left. The man praised the teacher as one of the 'driving force' behind Nanairogaoka's revival in recent years, and thus he wished the best for her future career.
The rest of the documentation proved she was a perfect match but... I have a tendency to not feel sure of this sort of stuff until a genuine truth is delivered about Kashiwa Higashi High School.
"As I can see here, but also from what I can hear from you and your former principal, you are presenting a mighty front for us to ignore, Aoki-san. However, before pushing for a proper confirmation, I would like to bring up to your attention just a few important details in regard to the school."
The bluette nodded. "Sure."
"Kashiwa Higashi High School is a school that deals with some unusual elements. I don't mean 'delinquents', but rather individuals that are either non-human or that dabble in odd circumstances that can cause either damage to the buildings or to the people around them. This school that has a lengthy list of demons, supernatural beings, students that linger into twisted mindsets, and there are even masked heroes and magical girls. I am sure you are familiar to at least part of those details, but I want this very rule known to you from the get-go: Kashiwa Higashi High School is meant to be a place to learn, not to fight, not to cause harm on others, not to 'investigate on your own' or try to be the hero of a situation that involves the entire stuff."
"...You want me to not intervene in case of trouble?"
"I want you to communicate about it beforehand. We live in a rather unpleasant world and schools should be part of those safe places students can learn about the things they want to live by and even life itself if necessary. Which is why, in the eventuality of issues, it is strongly advised to be in contact with either me or other teachers before trying to do something risky. Understood?"
Reika nodded slowly. "Yes sir."
I smiled. "Then there's nothing else for me to say." I reached out for another handshake. "Welcome aboard, Aoki-san."
Right as she reached out to do the same... someone crashed through the recently-fixed window and I refused to call Juria again for another damn month. I turned to see a certain short-haired magical girl pick herself up and squeak as she saw what scene she got hurled into.
"K-Kouchou-sensei..."
"Sawada-san. I suppose this is an opportunity to meet the newest Japanese Literature teacher, Aoki-sensei."
Reika didn't appear that 'chill' at the shocking sight. "I-Is she alright? What is going on?"
"N-New monster attack. Y-Yuri-chan and I are working on it but..."
I stood up and walked to the window, the three of us stood there and I felt the flattest look manifest on my face.
"Sawada-san. That's a Wacky Tube Man."
"I-it's really fast!" She muttered back, embarrassed that such a 'foe' was giving her and Yuri trouble from the way the flatter girl was getting her ass wrecked by the silly thing. "...Kouchou-sensei?"
"Yes, Sawada-san?"
"C-Could you... you know?"
Reika turned her attention to me. "What?"
I sighed, retrieved some chalk and... yeet'd the piece against the Tube Man. It exploded internally as the chalk impacted against its head, causing Yuri to gasp, turn to the source of the projectile and... appear very sheepish as she saw my glance.
"This is what I meant, Aoki-sensei."
The woman appeared a bit shaken but still nodded at my words. And actually signed the paperwork.
Couldn't tell why on the spot but... I think I have seen her before.
AN
Aoki Reika is not an OC! She is, indeed, experienced in this sort of situations (except the principal's chalk hurling), and she is also a teacher by canon novelization.
