Trials Of The Forest King

Within the forests between Fushcia and Saffron, a familiar shape walks into a cave. Within that cave, a light comes on and reveals a Pokemon, a giant dark blue snake with a golden face, long red fangs, and peeking out behind it was a blade-like tail. The snake sputtered after being disturbed from its sleep, only to become angry as he saw the Leader Pikachu from earlier.

Snake: YOU! You've got a lot of nerve coming in here!

Leader Pikachu: I'm well aware. But these are desperate times.

Snake: What do you want?

The mouse then takes out a piece of paper to show him and on it shows a crudely drwn picture of Ash, Cobalt, and Green.

Leader Pikachu: The Capped One has been spotted by my scouts in this vicinity. He;s beig protected by his most powerful soldiers; whom we dub the Jackel and the Lizard. If they aren't stopped, we'll all be captured and enslaved. I need you to kill the human.

Snake: *laughs loudly* And what makes you think I would help you?

Leader Pikachu: Because if you do, I'll cut you down from there.

It is then revealed that the Snake was hanging upside down this whole time via String Shot.

Snake: Very well, I accept your proposal. The Capped One shall rue the day he decided to cross the likes of-

He yells as he's cut down from up above. Meanwhile, we see Ash and his friends sitting at a camp sight as Ash's party keeps training. Green and Psi spar each other as Cobalt works with John and Loki to work on his evasivness. Meanwhile, Yami is shooting Shadow Balls in the air, allowing Aiden and Azula to shoot them and work on accuracy.

Aiden: Uuugh! I keep missing!

Ash: Hey, it's okay, Aiden. Don;t beat yourself up.

Yami: Yeah, besides if you never missed you wouldn't enjoy it as much when you finally hit something.

Aiden: Is that supposed to make me feel better?

Snake: SNEAK ATTAAAAAACK!

From a treetop, the snake lunges with his mouth wide open towards Ash, ready to bite him.

Yami: Ash, look out!

The Gengar pushed his trainer out of the way, forcing the snake to bite him instead, causing him to yell as he let go.

Green: Yami!

Misty: Are you okay, Ash? What is that thing?

Still worried over Yami, Ash hands Misty his Pokedex, allowing her to scan the Pokemon herself.

Pokedex: Seviper, the Fang Snake Pokémon. A Poison type. Seviper is known for its angry disposition, immobilizing its opponents by wrapping its body around them. Its sword-like tail can slash foes and douse them with poison.

Seviper: Don't try to struggle! You're already DEAD! For each step you tread, the poison shall strengthen its hold! Clawing and clawing! Until it finally takes its grip on your SOUL! AHahahahahahahahahahhhhh! VICTORY IS MI-

He then screams in panic as now, a Pidgeot takes him away, possibly to eat him.

Azula: Well, that was…. Random.

Brock: Uh oh. Guys, look!

Yami is shown to have gained a faint lavender blush from the bite as he wobbles in place while dazily smiling.

Yami: *sloppily* Ooooh! Woah, when did you guys decide to plug in the rainbow men?

Brock: He's been poisoned. And it looks bad.

Misty: Don;t worry, we';l just take him to the Pokemon Center. Then he'll be just fine.

Yami: Mimzy's right! I'm... I...I can- *vomits* BLEEEEEEHHHHH!

Green: Aw, sick! Wait….. I knew you ate my breakfast, you lier!

Brock: No, Misty, we can;t. Yami can't move from that spot. Every step Ash takes with Yami will just make it worse, even if he was in his ball.

Cobalt: WHAT?! But we can't just stay here forever and he can;t battle if we can;y move him.

Yami: No, guys, really! I'm fine! I can- *vomits* BLUUUUUUUUuuuughhhh! *coughs*

Ash: *worriedly* Yami…..

Psi: He is only getting worse. We need to find him an antidote.

Aiden: I've got it! We'll raid a Pokemon Center! Those things have plenty of medicine!

Azula: Dude, seriously?! There you go again with the brute force! You can't just take whatever you want!

Aiden: When I'm a Charizard, I probably can.

Ash: No, no, we're not robbing Nurse Joy! There has to be a solution that doesn't involve robbery.

Brock: I don;t know what;s going on, but I agree with what Ash said.

Suddenly, green jolts up, yelling in pain as he caresses his tail.

Green: AH! Something just bit me!

Ash: Oh no, is it another Seviper or what ever it-

Blacky: The mouth sees what few-

Green: AH, SWEET MEW! *punches Blacky*

They look behind Green to see the familiar shiny Umbreon, the exact one they met back at Stone Town.

Misty: A shiny Umbreon? What's it doing here?

Ash: Wait… I recognize this Pokemon. This is the guy we met back at the Eevee Bros huse, it's Blacky!

Cobalt: Blacky, dude, what the hell are you doing all the way out here?

Blacky: Allowing the winds of time and change to take me wherever the winds of time and change flow….. Also, I've been following you guys for the past 2 weeks.

Ash: You've what?!

Green: Well, that explains a lot. The footsteps at night, the horrible wailing, that ghost o that pretty woman that keeps telling us to get out of the forest.

Blacky: Wait, I've ben responsible for those first 2 things, but I know nothing of that last one.

Green: Oh…. Well, at least we're moving camp today. *into forest* You're welcome, weird lady.

Blacky: Yeah, I've been hearing stuff about you guys trying to find Cinnabar and with your brunette problem. Maybe I can help.

Aiden: What can you do, ramble about ground tentacles?

Blacky: They haven;t followed me yet…. Anyway, if you're looking for an antidote, I heard of a person that has some poison-curing berries.

Psi: Really?

Blacky: Mm-hmm. Ater all, I know all and see all. He calls himself the "Forest King". Just head towards Saffron and look for a yellow tree with red and blue flowers, you can't miss it.

Cobalt: See, Aiden? I knew there was a non-violent solution.

Psi: Very well. Ash, I suggest you, Azula, and I stay with Misty and Brock to keep an eye on Yami. Cobalt, you take Green and Aiden to get the Pecha berry from this so-called "Forest King".

Cobalt: Gotcha. I guess in some ways, looks can be deceiving. Aybe Blacky isn;t as crazy as we thou-

Green: OW!

Blacky: You'll never get me ground tentacles! Or my name isn;t Captian Aloof!

Cobalt: Never mind.

Deeper into the forest, Cobalt, Green, and Aiden wandered through the forest, spotting a yellow tree where on the top, red and blue flowers bloomed.

Aiden: That must be it.

Cobalt: Ah, you see the flowers too?

Aiden: No, I saw the sign.

The Charmeleon then points to a sign with the words "This way to the Forest King" painted on. As they walked up the path the sign pointed to, they saw a huge hole in the tree where a green flower-like Pokemon sat with, a mask covering his face, white petals rested on his head and his hands were three-petaled flowers, pink on his right and blue on his left.

Cobalt: Uh, excuse me, are you the-

Forest King: Yes I am! I am the noble Forest King Roserade! I am better than EVERY OTHER THING in this forest! Even better than the trees! *angry* Especially Andrew!

Andrew is a tree with Harry Potter-like glasses and a red tie with an A on it, much to their confusion.

Roserade: I hate you, Andrew! You're the worst tree!

Aiden: Roserade?

Green: Oh, hold on….

The Sceptile reached into a pocket in his vest, pulling out a deck of cards which he shuffled through.

Green: Brock gave me these cards in case we ran into a Pokemon we needed to identify. Ah, here we go.

Card: *Green reads aloud* "Roserade, the Bouquet Pokemon. A Grass and Poison type. Roserade uses its sweet aroma to attract prey, then strikes with thorny whips laced with poison to subdue it."

Roserade: Ah, I couldn't have said it better myself. Now, what can I do for you forest peanuts?

Cobalt: A little Umbreon told me you have Pecha Berries availible. They're pink and cure poison.

Roserade: Of course I do! I have all the berries that do every single thing! But I can't just give it to you! You must first prove that you are worthy by completing the FOREST KING CHALLENGES!

Green: The what?

Roserade: The Forest King Challenges! A series of several foresty feats! Specially designed to prove your worth! And for every one you fail you must complete TWO MORE to make up for it.

Aiden: *whispers* Alright, you both hold him down and I'll Dragon Claw him until he gives us the berry.

Cobalt: WHAT? Aiden, come on! We can;t have loco you right now. What about Yami?

Aiden: *long sigh* Fine. We'll do the stupid challenges.

Roserade: Excellent! Let the Forest King Challenges commence!

Later, Roserade is seen talking to the others in a small field of flowers.

Roserade: Challenge #1! Find the best flower!

Aiden: Wh- Ugh! What does that even mean!?

Cobalt: *picks up flower* Is it this one?

Roserade: No.

Cobalt: Okay well...uh… *picks up another flower* What about this one?

Roserade: Nope. And you've used ALL TWO of your tries. CHALLENGE FAILED!

Then, Roserade holds up a leaf with writing on it as Cobalt, Green and Aiden sit behin stumps to act as desks.

Roserade: Challenge #2! Forest Trivia! Ahem… *reads leaf* Question#1; "How many trees are there?"

Aiden: Wh- Ya- Eh- Y- Ugh!

Cobalt: Wha…. But… But that's impossibl-

Green: Hold on. How many tries do we get for this question?

Roserade: Just one for each of you. And all of you used them. CHALLENGE FAILED!

Aiden lets out a growl of frustration as Cobalt inhales through his nose. Later, Aiden has a leaf on his head and is holding leaves with his hands as it looks like he's trying to direct a airplane while Cobalt is the same, jumping as if he was trying to fly.

Aiden: This is stupid.

With screaming in the background, Green falls from the tree's canopy.

Roserade: CHALLENGE FAILED!

Aiden and Green are trying to climb a tree, only for Aiden to trip.

Roserade: CHALLENGE FAILED!

Cobalt and Green are picking out rocks, only to somehow fail the challenge again.

Roserade: Challenge failed!

And again….

Roserade: Challenge failed!

And again…..

Roserade: Challenge FAILED!

And they definitely fail as somehow, Green is sitting wide-eyed while being on fire as Aiden and Cobalt stare in surprise.

Roserade: *nonchalent* Challenge failed.

After many, many more fails at the challenges, Roserade then directs them to the flower field from their first challenge

Roserade: Challenge #85. Find the greatest flower!

Green: But we already-

Aiden: Hang on. I think I figured it out….. *raises Roserade's blue flower* Is it this one?

Roserade: That… *smiles* Is correct!

Aiden: YES!

Roserade: But you took too long to figure it out, sorry. Challenge FAILED!

Suddenly, Aiden starts to get mad as Green begins to raise his hand to form a Leaf Blade, until...

Cobalt: I can't take it anymore!

The Lucario then pounced onto Roserade, sending him to the ground and holding his arms behind his back

Roserade: Ah! What are you doing!?

Cobalt: Green! Aiden! Attack!

Aiden: What happened to me being loco?

Cobalt: Screw being loco! There's a time and place for everything but not now! Both of you, kick his ass!

Green: Finally…

The Sceptile hits Roserade three times across the face, holding his chin in place to make him look him in the eye.

Green: Tell us where the berry is!

Roserade: Uh- um- uh uh uh I can't! Y-you have to be worthy enough to-

He then screams as the Charmeleon then rips one of the leaves on his back clean off, where he then threatens him with a Dragon Claw.

Aiden: YOU HAVE WASTED ENOUGH OF OUR TIME! Our friend is dying right now! Tell us where the berry is RIGHT NOW!

Roserade: Ahh! No! Okay okay! There never was a berry! I was making it all up. I'm sorry. I'm... I'm not really King of the Forest, I...I don't even think that's a real thing.

Aiden: I KNEW IT!

Aiden then lights Roserade on fire with Flamethrower, making the flower run and scream frantically before being knocked out by a punch to the face by Cobalt.

Cobalt: Challenge failed….. But what do we do now?

Aiden: Considering our options, I think we should do what I've been waiting to do this entire time!

At a nearby Pokemon Center, everyone inside is screaming as a Lucario, Charmeleon, and Sceptile run out, all of them wearing nothing but ski masks as the Sceptile uses Leaf Storm against an approaching police Arcanine as they made their escape.

Later on, the three walk closer and closer back to the campsite, they meet Ash and Psi as Aiden has the antidote in his hand.

Ash: Where'd you get the antidote? What about the berry?

Green: Uh…. The Forest King thing was a hoax, but we found this antidote in the woods

Psi: Well, even though you all seem horrified by something, I see the mission was a success.

Aiden: See? Sometimes the best solutions are the easiest ones.

Cobalt: I'm just glad Yami's gonna be okay.

Aiden: Me too! And now we get to shove this in his mouth!

Ash: That's not how you… Nevermind.

As they approach the campsite, they see Brock, Misty, and Blacky relaxing as Azula is shown asleep. However, Yami wasnlt in his spot, ,uch to their surprise…. Only to find Yami floating next to them, his lavender blush gone.

Yami: Hey guys! Did you find the berry?

Cobalt: No, sorry Yami, but we got- Yami!? Why did you move?

Yami: Yeah, sorry, I got a little bored of waiting in that exact spot.

Ash: But- you- uh- You look fine! How….. *facepalms* Oh dear Arceus…..

Green: What?

Psi: He is annoyed that he just remembered something… As am I with myself for forgetting this. Gengar are part Poison type. Yami has an immunity!

Yami: Yeah, exactly! Sorry for maing you guys go out there for nothing, but uh... Any chance we could find that snake and have him bite me again? I really REALLY like the way it makes me feel!

Aiden: …Well, we didn't do all that for nothing. One of you, hold him down, I'm giving it to him anyway.

Yami: Giving what to me?

Aiden shoves the antidote in Yami's mouth, making the Gengar gag as the others just watched. Though as this went on, Blacky walked up to them, making Ash look at him with an accusing look.

Ash: So… Following us for 2 weeks, huh?

Blacky: Yeah, sorry. The ground tentacles have been drowning me too much back at the Eevee Bros house. Following you guys, it's been much safer, plus *gestures to Ash* this guy I can rely on. After all, he did save my life.

Cobalt: But aren't they your trainers?

Blacky: Nope. Never tried to catch me.

Ash: Well, here's an idea…. Since you seem to like me so much and you say these tentacles keep drowning you at the Eevee Bros place…. Why don;t I catch you?

Blacky: I'm not really that good at battling. I only know Bite, Quick Attack, and Shadow Ball.

Ash: You don;t have to battle if you don;t ant to. But my Mom could use some company back home since I'm not there right now.

Blacky: Hmm….. Does your house have any ground tentacles?

Ash: No, you're good.

Blacky: Well then, sure. I'd appreciate that.

Ash: Alright, just give me a sec.

Ash then dialed on his Xtransceiver, dialing Prof. Oak's number.

Prof. Oak: Ash, what a surprise. What can I do for you?

Ash: Hi, Professor. I… have an odd request.

Prof. Oak: Let's hear it.

Ash: I want to catch this Pokemon, but I feel like he would be better being with my mom, since I'm pretty sure she'd be lonely by now. Would you mind sending Blacky to her as soon as I catch him and you register him?

Prof. Oak: Well, that is mighty thoughtful of you, Ash. Alright, just send him over and I'll take him to your mother's.

Nodding, Ash hung up the call, turning to Blacky as he readied a Pokeball.

Ash: Ready?

Blacky: One sec….. Okay, ready.

Ash simply threw it underhand, which tapped the Umbreon on his head and sucked him in, catching him instantly as the Pokeball teleported away to Oak's lab.

Misty: Are you kidding me?! You just catch a Shiny just like that?! What the hell, where's my exclusive 'mon?

Cobalt: And everything was better…..

However, unknown to them, the Seviper from earlier managed to escape the Pidgeot as he watched them from the bushes.

Seviper: It seems I may have underestimated his ruthlessness. So I'll just have to have even LESS ruth! Ha ha ha ha ha. AHAHAHAHAA-

He was interrupted as a stray Pokeball hit him in the back of the head, sucking the serpent in. As the ball locked, Jessie and James came out from the foliage, looking around.

Jessie: I told you we should stop playing PokeBall catch in the balloon.

James: Is it here?

Jessie: I don;t know. I've been looking for... *spots Pokeball* Ah, there it is. *picks it up* Huh, odd. Seems to have caught something.

James: Well, might as well open it and see what you got.

Jessie: Why bother? It's probably something like a Pidgey or a Hoppip or-

The woman opened the ball, revealing a now startled Seviper.

Seviper: Huh, wha- What happened? Did I die? Is this He….. Ah farts, I got captured, didn;t I?

Jessie: ….*nods* Okay, this one… This one, I approve of.

Meanwhile at Oak's lab, the man had just received Blacky's Pokeball. He picked it up as he got up from his chair, Sparky by his side.

Ptof. Oak: Please watch the lab, Sparky! I'm going to make a quick delivery! Hm, I wonder what that boy caught, though… I'm sure he wouldn;t mind if I took a peak.

Oak then threw the ball, releasing the shint Umbreon in the lab, much to both the man and the Rotom;s shock of a trainer in his first year having caught a shiny, let alone one as rare as a wild Eeveelution.

Blacky: Are you Ash's mom? You seem…. More masculine than I thought.

Sparky: That'z because he izn't Ash'z mom.

However, it seemed Oak couldn;t handle the discovery as he fell backwards and fainted, the Rotom trying his best to catch him, only to be able to keep his head from hitting the floor.

Blacky: Is it bedtime already?

Sparky: For him, it pretty much iz…..
