The Rise Of Mewtwo
On one of the many days Ash trained his party for the Pokemon League, the boy decided they needed a change of scenery in order to truly be ready for the challenges ahead.
Ash: Okay, one more time! Cobalt, use Aura Sphere! Yami, use Shadow Ball! And Azula, use Snipe Shot!
All three of Ash's Pokemon fired their attacks, knocking over a set of targets that Brock had put up. Currently, the group was honing their skills on the Seafoam Islands, with Psi and Aiden having a practice battle and Kestrel sitting with Misty as he decides to catch a tan for herself, while Brock prepared some lunch.
Misty: For once, I actually agree with Ash's decision to train. This place is a vacation hotspot.
Green: Of course you're here only to spa it up.
Brock: Alright, Ash. Looks like lunch is ready, how about you take a break?
Ash nods as he calls his Pokemon for break time, where Brock poured the three humans a bowl of stew while he gave the Pokemon their Poke Chow.
Cobalt: *sighs* This is great. Sweet island. Awesome training. Delicious food. It's like nothing could ruin this day.
Yami: ….Why do I feel like that's a bad omen?
Yami was somehow right as all of a sudden, a huge mass swooped by, the wind knocking everyone and their food over, making Aiden sad at the sight of his Chow spilled over. The dust cleared to reveal a Dragonite with a mail satchel around its body.
Green: Hey, watch where you're flying!
Azula: What was that for?
Dragonite then reached into the satchel on its side, walking up to Ash before handing him a letter.
Dragonite: Message for you.
Ash: Huh? *takes envelope* For me?
The dragon then held out its hand and cleared its throat, flexing its fingers to signal something. Cobalt rolled his eyes, lending it an Oran Berry while Ash opened the envelope to show some find of thin, metal card. A point on the card lit up, showing the hologram of a woman in a dark robe and a poofy hat.
Woman: Greetings, Pokemon trainers. I bear an invitation.
Brock: She's really small, but really pretty.
Croagunk threatened to Poison Jab Brock once more causing him to flinch and sigh as he looked down.
Woman: You have been chosen to join a select group of trainers at a special gathering. It will be hosted by my lord; the world's greatest Pokemon Master. You may find him within his palace on New Island.
Ash: New Island?
Psi: I have never heard of such a place in Kanto.
Woman: A chartered ferry will leave from Old Shore Wharf to take you to the island this afternoon. Only trainers who present this invitation will be admitted. If you decide to attend, you must reply at once… My lord awaits you.
The hologram of the woman bowed before fizzling out. Brock was trying to convince them to go just to meet the woman while Cobalt looked into the envelope, taking out a card which wasbasically a "Yes or No" questionnaire.
Yami: Check that out. The world's number one trainer wants to challenge us to a match!
Misty: Wait… Didn;t that floating Pokemon we met before rescuing Green say something about New Island?
Green: "Floating Pokemon"?
Yami: It was a thing.
Misty: Well, who are we to say "No". *reaches into pocket* Here, I have a pen.
Psi: Ash, wait!
Ash: What's up, Psi?
Psi: Well…. Listen. I knwo you wish to try your skill as a trainer, but…. I do not think this is a good idea.
Aiden: What, why not?
Psi: Think about this. No one has truly been announced as a "Number One Pokemon Master". Along with the fact of this mysterious "New Island". No such place even exists on any maps. I ahte to say it, but this seems very unusual.
Ash took his Alakazam's words into consideration. It was true, this whole situation was really unusual and he never had heard of a place called New Island before today. Though the curious bunch his group were, Cobalt stepped up, trying to convince Psi.
Cobalt: Listen Psi, I know you're concerned, but there is the possibility that it isn't some type of trap. What if this whole New Island stuff is real?
Psi: Well…..
Cobalt: Come on, let's at least go and check it out. And if it's sketch, we'll leave.
Knowing Cobalt couldn't be deterred easily, Psi looked defeated and let out a sigh as they motioned to Ash, who then signed "Yes" on the card before giving it to the Dragonite. The dragon then took off to where it came from.
Psi: I really hope Cobalt is right about this….
As they made their way to the wharf for the ferry, it suddenly began to rain harshly, causing the group to run to the nearby wharf, Cobalt shaking himself off to dry his fur. However, Ash and the gang were surprised to see a large number of trainers that were possibly about to go on the same ferry as them.
Green: Yeah, thanks for that, bro. Really appreciate it.
Brock: I can;t believe how fast that storm hit.
However, they are alerted to three trainers who are complaining to an Officer Jenny and a woman with blue hair and formal attire. These trainers being a boy with dark green hair and a red jacket, a girl with brown hair, and a stout boy with brown hair
Boy 1: What?! What do you mean the ferry's canceled?!
Girl: I have to get to New Island!
Boy 2: Same here! You're canceling on us over a little rain?
Officer Jenny: It's more than just rain. The harbor manager, Miranda, thinks this could be the worst storm ever.
Miranda: Listen to me. The prophets have predicted the return of the Winds of Water. For years, I prayed mankind would never witness that deadly storm ever again.
Officer Jenny: Isn't that just a legend?
Miranda: Ancient writings tell of the storm wiping out all but a few Pokémon. In their sorrow, the water of their tears restored the lives lost in the storm, bringing forth a miracle. But there are no Pokémon tears today. Just waters which no-one can survive.
Boy 2: Who cares about a few waves? Most of my team are Water-types, I'll just swim to New Island.
Officer Jenny: *sarcastic* Oh, great idea, Professor Oak. But what if your Pokemon get hurt out in the storm? You're out of luck since the Pokemon Center in town's been closed due to the Nurse Joy having gone missing.
Cobalt then looked over to the wall, seeing a missing poster on the wall of the missing Nurse Joy. Though as he looked closer, something clicked in his mind.
Cobalt: 'I know they all look the same… But she looks familiar….'
However, these thoughts are interrupted as the three trainers run out past Jenny and Miranda, the green haired boy sending out a Pidgeot while the brown haired boy jumps into the water and sends out a Pokeball, riding over to the island on a Gyarados.
Officer Jenny: Come back here! Or I'll place you under arrest!
The girl sends out her own Pokeball, jumping and landing on her Dewgong which swims away after the other two.
Officer Jenny: Come back!
Miranda: Some trainers have no fear.
Officer Jenny: Huh?
Miranda: To them, this is just one more challenge. They follow their hearts. That is what sets them apart, and will make them Pokémon Masters….. Good luck to all of you. And may Arceus have mercy on your souls….
Ash and the gang run to the dock as Misty opens one of her Pokemballs, releasing Mel into the water.
Misty: Mel, can you follow those other trainers to New Island?
Mel: Sure thing. *lowers head* Better hold on, it's gonna get bumpy.
Ash handed Kestrel to Misty, who put him inside her drawstring bag to prevent him from getting wet as the five climbed onto the Gyarados as she then swam off. The storm seemed to only get worse the further they got, the waves crashed onto Mel's body, leaving small bruises as well as Cobalt almost getting struck by lightning once. However, as Mel was almost knocked over by a massive tidal wave, she fought back the storm with a Hyper Beam while Green combined it with a Leaf Storm, managing to dissipate the wave.
Brock: *sighs* That was a close one….
Misty: *pets Mel's head* Good work, Mel.
The Gyarados purred at the affection, though Cobalt alerted everyone as he pointed forward.
Cobalt: Hey, look over there!
Ash looked forward, seeing a large building in the distance, yellow light coming from the windows and windmills poked out from behind it.
Ash: That building… That must be New Island!
Misty: We're almost there. High-tail it, Mel! And hurry!
Nodding, Mel swam just a little more towards the island, ducking down to enter a cave at the island's base. In the cave resided a small lagoon, along with a short boardwalk. But on the boardwalk, much to Brock's delight, was the woman from the hologram, holding a lanturn.
Woman: My lord welcomes you to New Island. Please present your invitation.
Nodding, Ash took out the holocard he had received via Dragonite, the woman staring at it as the same message from before played. Cobalt starred at the woman, a look of shock and surprise sprung onto his face
Cobalt: ….*surprised* That's Nurse Joy!
Ash: *looks back* Huh?
Cobalt: The Nurse Joy that was said to be missing, that's her! I recognize that facial structure anywhere.
Mel: But why is she here?
Cobalt: I'm not sure, but her aura… It feels wrong somehow. Like it's some type of lie. Maybe Psi was onto something. It's best we play dumb.
Green: You mean starting now?
Woman: ….Please come this way. My Lord awats your arrival.
Misty returned Mel to her ball, after all, she deserved the rest after transporting them all the way to the island. With that out of the way, the woman walked up the nearby stairs, leading the others up to what they assumed was the surface of the island.

Later on, the small group followed the woman up the stairs, where they came across the building's balcony. The building is revealed to be a large palace with huge doors in front of them. The doors then open, revealing a brightly lit room with a small moat in the center surrounding a platform with a table, The other three trainers sat at the table as many Pokemon lounged about, as well as several Water types lounging in a nearby fountain.
Woman: Now that you are here, all trainers worthy for an audience with my lord are present.
Ash: Huh? But there's only three of them.
Misty: Should'nt we wait for the others?
Woman: Only the trainers capable of braving the storm are worthy to be here in my lord's eyes.
Green: So… that storm was just some kind of sick test?!
Cobalt: I think so.
Woman: ….Please release your Pokemon from their Pokeballs and join the others. It will not be long before my lord's intentions are clear.
The woman then walked off further into the room, residing by a spiral staircase. Despite the woman creeping them out, Ash released the rest of his team, while Misty let out Perry and Loki and Brock sent out Bulbasaur, John, and Croagunk. As they walked forward, the Green-Haired boy looked back, petting a Pidgeot.
Boy #1: What took you so long?
Ash: The storm… How'd you get here?
Boy #1: I rode on my Pidgeot, he had no problem with the winds.
Ash: Amazing… My name's Ash, by the way.
Boy #1: *nods* Corey. *gestures to team* This is my squad, including my Pidgeot.
Corey gestured to a Hitmonlee, Scyther, Sandslash, Rhyhorn, and Venasaur, who all shared their greetings with Ash's team.
The other boy stood by with his team, including his Gyarados, along with a Vaporeon, Nidoqueen, Tentacruel, Seadra, and Golduck, all of which also gave their greetings.
Boy #2: Name's Fergus. *gestures to Pokemon* These are all my Pokemon. It was easy getting through that storm with my Gyarados.
The Gyarados nuzzled Fergus, making him smile and pet the serpent as Loki and Azula lounged in the water.
Fergus: *spots Azula* That's a really cool Water-type, by the way.
Ash: Thanks. Her name's Azula, she's an Inteleon.
Fergus nods in understanding as they turn their attention to the other girl, who was chatting to a Wigglytuff.
Girl: I'm Neesha. This Wigglytuff here is one of my teammates, *points over* along with them.
The others look as the Wigglytuff joins a Dewgong, Vileplume, Ninetails, Rapidash, and Blastoise, all of whom say their greetings. Cobalt and Green introduced themselves to the Venasur and Blastoise, who were nicknamed Broo Broo and Shellshocker…. It took all of Green's willpower to not laugh at Broo Broo's name.
Suddenly, all of the lights went out, causing everyone to look around confused. A beam of light then shone from above the spiral staircase, but as the light shone, Pis gasped and clutched their head, as if they were in pain.
Ash: Psi, what's wrong?
Aiden: Are you okay?
Psi: That… That presence I felt back when I fought Koga…
Azua: It's back?
Psi: Not only that… It is even stronger here.
Woman: You are about to me my lord…. The time has come for you all to face the greatest Pokemon Master in the world…..
Everyone looked up as a figure descended from above. Though the Pokemon were ready to fight, a few of them were intimidated. This was unlike anything they've seen… This THING…. It just radiated raw power.
Ash: What…. Is that?
Neesha: It…. It looks like a Pokemon.
Woman: Yes… The world's greatest Pokemon Master is also the world's strongest Pokemon.
Cobalt: *surprised* The world's…. Strongest Pokemon?
Woman: This is the ruler of New Island and with his pan, the ruler of all life on Earth! Mewtwo!
Psi: *shocked* Mew…..Mewtwo… The diary.
Green: Huh?
Psi: Back on Cinnibar Island, I read a diary that was in the Big Riddle Inn. It detailed some sort of experiments on a Mew sample and as such… They created Mewtwo.
Ash: So… Mewtwo's a clone?
Psi: *nods* Mmm.
Fergus: *stands* This is ridiculous! A Pokemon can;t be a Pokemon master!
The woman spoke again, however this time, a new voice joined in from inside their heads.
Mewtwo/Woman: Quiet, foolish human. In my domain, I make the rules.
Misty: *shocked* It's…. It's talking!
Ash: I think Mewtwo is using some kind of telepathy. Like that little one.
Suddenly, Mewtwo raises his hand, causing Fergus to stiffen as he gloves blue before being raised into the air, screaming out in pain as his body felt like it was tightening in on itself. With a smirk and a chuckle, Mewtwo waved his arm, throwing Fergus into the fountain, where his Tentacruel helped him out.
Fergus: We'll show you! Gyarados, use Hyper Beam!
The serpent slithered forward, snarling as it unleashed a Hyper Beam from its mouth. However, Mewtwo only raised a hand and caught the beam before he threw it back, knocking Gyarados back into the water. Fergus worriedly checked over his Pokemon as everyone watched in horror.
Green: Did… Did you see that?! Mewtwo just launched that Gyarados into the air without even moving an inch forward!
Ash: *quietly* Wait….. Didn;t Gary's Nidoking say something about losing to a Pokemon that didn't even move?
Misty: You don''t think… THAT'S the Pokemon. Then that means…
Brock: *nods* Yeah… Mewtwo's a product of Team Rocket.
Mewtwo: I can hear you, skill of understanding us disgusts me….
Ash turned around, horrified that Mewtwo just said something like that out of the blue and in front of strangers. But before they coud question him, Mewtwo glared at the woman.
Mewtwo: You are of no use to me.
Suddenly, the woman gasped as she fell forward, Brock running up to catch her. But as he did, the woman's hat fell off, revealing her to be-
Brock: Nurse Joy!
Corey: Hey, yeah. That's the Nurse Joy that's been missing all this time!
Cobalt: Called it.
Nurse Joy: Where am I?... How did I get here?
Mewtwo: You have been under my control for the past week. I transported you here from the Pokemon center as your knowledge of Pokemon physiology would be useful for my plans. And now, I have cleansed your feeble human cranium of any knowledge of what has happened.
Brock: *angered* Who the hell do you think you are?!
Mewtwo: I am this world's new ruler. The world's strongest Pokemon. Far beyond mortal comprehension of Human and Pokemon alike. I am the alpha and omega! I! Am Mewtwo!
Cobalt: You're wrong… YOU'RE WRONG! This isn;t what the world's strongest Pokemon is meant to be! My dream is to have that title, to be the world's strongest Pokemon! But that means to show anyone could do it! That if we worked together, we'd all be the strongest!
Ash looked in amazement at Cobalt's small rant, siling a little at such an amiable reason for wanting to be the strongest.
Cobalt: But you… You're not the strongest Pokemon! You're not even a Pokemon at all! You're a bully and a liar! I refuse to even associate my species with the likes of you!
Mewtwo: *growls*...You humans are a dangerous species. You brouht me into your world and treated me like a slave with no other purpose! But now, I have made my own purpose… My storm will destroy your world in order for me to create mine… And will destory all of you in the process.
Misty: So you hate all humans and you're gonna kill us all to save Pokemon?!
Mewtwo: No… Not even your Pokemon will be spared.
The trainers gasped in horror, Misty hugging Loki close as Yami moved in to comfort a panicking Ash.
John: *disgusted* What?
Mewtwo: You all have disgraced yourselves by siding with humans. You all are nothing but mindless slaves!
Green: You're an Arceus-damn maniac!
Bulbasaur: These humans aren;t our tyrants, they're our friends! You're the real tyrant!
Mewtwo: …You all are as pathetic as the rest! Humans and Pokemon can never be friends!
Corey: If you are a Pokemon… Then there's nothing saying I can't catch you!
The boy then threw a Pokeball at Mewtwo, but before it hit, Mewtwo caught the ball with Psychic before crushing it into a piece of rubble.
Mewtwo: Fools. Your Pokeballs cannot contain me. My powers are too great!
Aiden: Then how about proving it in a real match!
Ash: Aiden, shush!
Mewtwo: *smirks* Is that a challenge?
Aiden: It's a demand.
The clone Pokemon smirked as he then raised his arms and his eyes began to glow, beams of light pillaring out from the floor as a Blastoise, Venasaur, adn Charizard rose up. However, these ones were slightly bigger and each of them had odd, distinct markings on them.
Mewtwo: Like many trainers, I too began with Bulbasaur, Squirtle, and Char-Charmander. But for their final and strongest forms, I used their genetic material to clone and create even more powerful copies.
Cobalt: More clones?!
Yami: This is starting to sound like a bad anime movie dub.
Suddenly, the wall behind Mewtwo disappeared, revealing a ground that was similar to a stadium, with fluorescent lights and all the normal bells and whistles one would come with.
Brock: A stadium?
Ash: Mewtwo must've been planning this for a while…
Corey: Your fake of a Vensaur doesn;t stand a chance against my real Venasaur! Right, Broo Broo?
Broo Broo: Right!
Green, after hearing someone say the Vensaur's nickname aloud, struggled to hold in his laughter…. As did Mewtwo as he covered his mouth to hide a smile that almost broke into a snicker.
Broo Broo: What? What's so funny?
Green: Nothing, nothing. Carry on with the existentialism and genetic splicing.
Neesha: We'll blow away that fake Blastoise, won;t we, Shellshocker!
Shelllshocker: Yeah!
Ash: Aiden… Are you sure you can do this?
Aiden: Someone has to try, Ash. We need to stop this maniac before he escapes and takes over the world.
Mewtwo: …Your Char-Charizard is poorly trained, Speaker. A fool who doesn;t know how to step down from a challenge.
Ash growls in anger of having his Pokemon insulted, though Mewtwo telepports himself and his clones tohe farthest side of the battlefield as the others approach the open side, Corey coming up as Broo Broo steps into play while the VenasaurTwo steps onto the field.
Corey: Go, Broo Broo! Use Razor Leaf!
Mewtwo: Vine Whip.
As Broo Brro released razor sharp leaves, the cloned Venasaur unleashed a pair of vines that not only destroyed the leaves, but then proceeded to pick up Corey's Venasaur and throw him into the palace, the Venasaur stopping to a skid on the ground.
Corey: Broo Broo!
As Corey ran forth to check on his partner, Neesha and Shellshocker stepped forth while BlastoiseTwo entered as well.
Neesha: It's up to us, partner! Let's go, Shallshocker! Use Hydro Pump!
Mewtwo: Rapid Spin.
Shellshocker unleashed a high-powered jet of water from its back cannons as the clone tucked into its shell and soun, deflecting the water and speeding cloer and closer before ramming into Shellshocker, sending him flying into a wall.
Neesha: *runs* Shellshocker, no!
Misty: This is serious, Ash! We need to stop this!
Ash: If Aiden isn;t giving up, neither am I.
Mewtwo pointed forward, eliciting his clone Charizard to step into the ring.
Ash: Remember Aiden, prioritize speed instead of power and you'll win.
Aiden: Speed over power, got it.
Aiden and the other Charizard took flight, as Aiden launched a Flamethrower at the clone, only for it to quickly fly above and strike him from above. Aiden tried to blast the clone again, only for it to dodge and ran into his stomach. The two fly higher into the air, the clone catching up no problem.
Misty: Can't Aiden fly any faster?
Brock:The cone's too fast! We won;t be able to unles Aiden Mega Evolves.
Ash: But we can;t waste it now!
The two dragons soar higher and higher, breaching beyond the clouds as Aiden tries blasting the clone over and over. However, the clone divebombs Aiden and grabs him, diving down towards the battleground.
Mewtwo: Finish it.
CharizardTwo smirks as it then punches Aiden over and over in the chest and stomach before throwing him into the ground with a Seismic Toss. As the Charizard hit the ground, the clone landed as Aiden then got up. However, as he stood, Aiden stumbled a bit, coughing so harsh that a little blood came out of his mouth before he then toppled over, unconscious. Worried, Ash runs over, cradling his Charizard's head.
Ash: Aiden, no! Are you okay?
Mewtwo: As the victor, I now claim my prize….
The Genetic Pokemon spreads his arms out, summoning what seemed to be three black Pokeballs with an eye symbol instead of a button.
Mewtwo: Your Pokemon!
The balls then flew forward, though one stopped right above Aiden and tapped onto him. But much to Ash's and everyone else's shock, Aiden was actually sucked in, as was Shellshocker and Broo Broo.
Ash: No, wait!
Psi: WHAT?!
Cobalt: He got sucked in?!
Loki: That's impossible, he's already caught!
Misty: What are you gonna do to them!?
Mewtwo: I will extract their DNA to make more clones for myself. *summons more balls* All of them will remain safe on my island as my storm destroys your world. Or if I am lucky, your entire galaxy. Whichever comes first.
Ash: No! You can;t just do that!
Misty: Ash's right, we'll stop you!
Mewtwo: Do not even tempt to defy the power…. *eyes glow* OF A GOD!
Suddenly, a psychic force sends Ash flying back right into Brock, sending them falling backward.
Cobalt: Ash!
Green: Are you alright?
Mewtwo: This is my world now….
As Ash and Brock get up, Mewtwo sends the rest of the balls after them, ready to trap the remaining Pokemon.
Yami: Forget battling!
Azula: Run for it!
The group then run inside the palace as the balls chase after them. However the running is fruitless as the balls manage to catch all of Fergus's Pokemon, then Neesha's, then Corey's. John batted them away with his limbs as one tried to get him from behind, only for Yami to dissolve it with a Venoshock.
Yami: Stay away from my pal- AH!
Suddenly, a Clone Ball hits Yami, sucking him inside as it flies off.
John: Yami, no!
The Mankey gets hit with Clone Ball and gets sucked in while Loki and Bulbasaur fight back against the balls with Vine Whip and Water Gun.
Loki: Dammit, they got John and Yami!
Bulbasaur: And I think we're next!
Brock: Wait, I got it! Mewtwo can;t catch them if they're already in their Pokeballs.
Misty: Good idea. *holds Pokeball* Loki, return!
Brock: Bulbasaur, come back!
The two are then recalled back to their Pokeballs just as several more were about to hit them. However, the celebration is cut short as two of the CLone Balls tap Bulbasaur and Loki's Pokeballs and suck those inside as well before flying off.
Misty: ….Okay, now that's just impressive.
Perry is running in a circle ina panic and clutching his head as Croagunk swoops in, knocking away the balls. However, it's futile as they are sucked in as well.
Misty: No, Perry!
Brock: Croagunk!
Cobalt and Green are so far successful in fighting off the Clone Balls while Azula snipes them out of the air. Though as more suddenly swoop in, Psi teleports close to them and sets up Protect, which deflects the balls and allows Psi to lower the shield.
Green: *sighs* Good thing the balls aren;t immune to Protect.
Mewtwo: It is futile to resist my power…
Suddenly, more balls appear, eliciting Psi to use Protect again, which takes out the balls but Psi is seen growing tired.
Psi: Everyone, I… cannot keep this up…. I can only use….. Protect….. so many times in a row.
As the next wave comes, Azula steps out of the Protect Psi put up and attempts to shoot down the balls with Snipe Shot. However, she misses one, which hits her and sucks her in.
Psi: Azula!
Cobalt looks in despair, only to see that the nearby pillars are raised, whereas all of the balls that have caught the Pokemon are heading down holes under them. Realziing this, Cobalt turns to Ash, who is with the other humans trying to fend off the balls and run.
Cobalt: Ash! The pillars!
Ash: *looks back, nods* Misty, keep Kestrel safe!
Misty: What?! Ash!
Psi lets down the Protect as they, Cobalt, and Green rush toward the pillar to meet with Ash just as the pillars are lowering.
Green: Oh no you don;t!
Green slides under the pillar and holds it up while Mewtwo summons three more balls.
Green: GUYS! HURRY!
Psi ducks under the pillar as Ash and Cobalt slide unde the pillar. Green then lets go and falls down the hole, allowing the pillar to fall into place and making the balls hit the stone. Meanwhile, Ash and his Pokemon slide down a large tube, Cobalt growing angry at the retreating balls.
Cobalt: YOU'RE NOT GONNA GET AWAY WITH THIS, MEWTWO!
Suddenly, the four land on a large conveyor belt, allowing them to look to see they had landed in a large room with the belt rolling to a large machine connected to tubes where unconscious Pokemon resided.
Ash: What is this place?
Psi: This must be the laboratory where Mewtwo made his clone Pokemon.
Cobalt: Creepy…
Ash then spots the last ball coming down the belt and runs over to grab it just as it's brought into the machine. He grabs the ball, but a claw grabs the ball and carries Ash with the ball as more claws fight back against him.
Ash: Ow! Let go! UGH! Stupid machine! UGH! GIVE ME BACK MY... FRIENDS!
Hearing the commotion inside, Psi helps Ash by using Psychic to pull him out. Ash fights against the mechanical arms while Cobalt and Green run over to help pull him out. They all fall forward as the ball in Ash's grasp opens and frees Azula.
Azula: *shakes* Well... That's gonna cause some existential dread.
Ash: *happily* Azula!
The Inteleon is hugged tightly by Ash, where she smiles and hugs him back. Psi comes closer and smiles as Cobalt and Green join the embrace.
Green: We're so glad you're okay.
Suddenly, an alarm blares as more and more Pokémon clones start coming down the tubes and one of the pods shifts and squirms as a Vaporeon comes out.
Cobalt: The copies are hatching!
Ash: But where are the real ones?
Psi: Hopefully, not dissected.
The Pokémon clones leave the lab while the alarm gets louder and faster. With one last blare, the clone machine blows a fuse as smoke billows, thereby spewing the Clone Balls freeing all the original Pokémon. A ball then opens, releasing Yami.
Yami: Ugh… Man, that stunk.
Ash: Yami!
Yami: Huh?... Ash! Hey!
As the Gengar joins his friends, another ball opens to release a now healed Aiden.
Aiden: Guys! Man, am I glad to see you!
Ash: You're all okay!
Cobalt smiles in the hug and reunion, but he then gains a stern expression as he gets out of the hug and starts walking out.
Green: Dude, where are you going?
Cobalt: I have to go…. I have to stop Mewtwo.
Yami: What?! No, Cobalt, you can;t!
Cobalt: Well, someone has to try! We can;t just let him take over the planet!
Azula: He managed to knock Ash into Brock, redirect a Hyper Beam and his clones are superpowered.
Aiden: If you go out there, he'll kill you!
Green: And you can;t be the world's strongest Pokemon if you're dead, Cobalt!
Cobalt: …..Being the stronges tisn;t about power, Green…. It's about doing what you can to do others can;t. And I'm NOT letting that phony steal my home or kill my friends. And I know Ash won't either….
Ash gasped at Cobalt's determination as he held out a paw. The boy then frowned and nodded, grabbing his paw to get out as more Pokemon were released.
Ash: Alright… Let's save the world.

Back on the surface, Mewtwo stands before the other trainers, who only grow more and more afraid. Only for Mewtwo to use his powers to open the door behind them.
Mewtwo: Humans! You have served my purpose. I am allowing you to live for the moment, but you cannot escape your fate. My hour of rising draws near.
Suddenly, the floor explodes behind him and his army of clones arrive while the Trainers look in shock and horror.
Mewtwo: Behold! With Pokémon and humans eliminated, the clones shall inherit the world.
In the explosion, a familar voice calls out as footsteps sound out, making Mewtwo look back.
Ash: You can't do this. *passes through smoke* I won't let you.
Misty: It's Ash!
Brock: Alright!
Ash starts walking toward Mewtwo with the original Pokémon, Cobalt and Green by his side with Metal Claw and Leaf Blade at the ready while the other trainers spot their Pokemon and smile in relief.
Misty: Perry! Loki!
Brock: Bulbasaur! John! Croagunk!
Ash and the original Pokémon stop and stare at Mewtwo and the clones, who only stare back in hatrtred.
Mewtwo: It is useless to challenge me, human.
Cobalt: It's not gonna end like this, Mewtwo! We won't let it! You're mine!
He fires an Aura Sphere at Mewtwo, who counters it with a Shadow Ball and causes an explosion. Through the dust, Ash runs forward with his hat backwards and tries to punch him, only for Mewtwo to stop him in his tracks.
Mewtwo: ….Pathetic.
Mewtwo sends Ash flying backwards towards the pavilion of the palace, his Pokemon screaming for him…. Only for Ash to be saved by a large pink bubble, which he easily bounces on.
Ash: Huh?
Mewtwo: What?
Suddenly, the little floating Pokemon from before zps over to Ash and pops the bubble Ash is on, allowing him to drop onto the roof safely.
?: HI, it's me again.
Ash: Y…..You!
?: *giggles* Close, silly. But my name's Mew.
Psi: *amazed*…Mew?
Cobalt: As in the mythical ancestor of all Pokemon?... Mew's real?!
Green: And Mew helped you save me from Pikachu?... Awesome.
Mew: Hey, look what I can do. *summons bubble, bounces on bubble* Cool, right?
Ash: Uh…. Sure, I guess.
Suddenly, a Shadow Ball is fired, which pops Mew's bubble and sends her flying back. As Mewtwo launches another, Mew teleports out of the way before going to Ash, teleporting him to the others, and teleports in front of Mewtwo.
Brock: Isn;t that the Pokemon from last month?
Ash: Yeah. Apparently… It's Mew.
Misty: Mew?! Are you serious?!
Mewtwo: Mew! So we finally meet!
Mew: So, YOU'RE Mewtwo!... You look awesome. But you've been really, really naughty.
Mewtwo: I may have been cloned from your DNA, but I will prove I am better than the original! That I am superior to you!
Mewtwo then hurls a Shadow Ball at his donor, who only seems to teleport out of the way and send a psychic bubble at Mewtwo, who blocks with his arms. Instead of standing taill, Mewtwo, much to his surprise, shakes his arms to relieve them of soem stinging, burning pain.
Mewtwo: *smirks* So, you do have some fight in you. But I have no time for games. Destiny is at hand. *floats* Who will rule? My super Pokémon, or your pathetic group of spineless inferior Pokémon?
Yami: Uh, excuse you! Some of us happen to be invertebrates!
Seadra: Preach it!
Mew: Neither can win. We are naught but equal.
Mewtwo: We were created with powers far stronger than the originals.
Mew: That may be true, brother. But that power isn;t real…. These Pokemon are proof of such a thing. You don't prove anything by showing off special powers or an OP EV stat. Instead, a Pokemon's true power comes from their emotion, from the bonds that they share with ones they love. And above all else… A Pokémon's real strength comes from the heart.
Green: She's right, Mewtwo! That's why you;ll never win! Why you'll never be the strongest!
Mewtwo: *angrily* My clones don't need their powers to prove their worth! If you will not let me fufill my purpose, fine! We will not hav a battle….. *points forward* WE WILL HAVE A WAR! NOW GO!
The Pokémon and their clones charge into battle with each other, with Cobalt, the rest of Ash's Pokemon, and Mew solely targeting Mewtwo. However, due to Mewtwo's immense strength and the fact that Yami and Cobalt had type disadvantages, they were still no match for the powerful Psychic type.
Cobalt: It's no use! We need to go Mega!
Aiden: How? Ash can only Mega Evolve one of us at a time!
Psi: Hmm….. I have an idea! *to Ash* Ash, Mega Evolve me!
Ash: What? Psi, are you sure? I mean you have Dark Pulse, but-
Psi: JUST DO IT!
Surprised at the shout, Ash nodded and tapped his glove's Key Stone, which reacted to Psi's Alakazite. While they were in the proces of Mega Evolving, they pointed four of their spoons at the others with stones and shot them with blasts, bathing them in that same Mega energy. The light dissipated, showing not just Psi, but all of Ash's Pokemon besides Azula having Mega Evolved.
Green: What the… How did you do this?
Psi: I shared my energy with all of you. The power is not as strong, but it should be enough to catch up to Mew and Mewtwo.
Aiden: Yami…. You feeling crazy on us?
Yami: *clutches head* Kinda… But I think I can go through it if I'm careful. Let's do this!
Mewtwo: Being slightly bigger changes NOTHING! I represent the alpha and omega! I am the strongest lifeform on this planet!
Ash: Maybe you are. And pardon my langage on this, Brock…. *smirks* But you FUCKED with the wrong trainer! Everyone! ATTACK!
The 6 then charged, ready to take on Mewtwo once and for all. Azula jumped over Mewtwo, firing several Snipe Shots as Aiden swooped by, trying to slash him with Dragon Claw. Mewtwo used a barrier to protect himself, only for the barrier to be damaged by Psi's Dark Pulse. Though, while Mewtwo was distratceed by the Alakazam, Yami came up from behind, firing a Shadow Ball. Mewtwo countered with his own, the explosion damaged Yami a btt, causing him to fly back. As Yami got up, he began chuckling evilly, realising what was happening and clutching his head.
Yami: No! No, not now!
Mew: What's up with you?
Yami: I… I keep hearing thai thing in my when I go Mega and I- *demonic* I SHALL DEVOUR YOUR SOULS! *cackles, then strains*
Mew: Hmm… You seem to be suffering from some type of Mega Corruption Sickness. I dealt with this before when Rayquaza first Mega Evolved. *chuckles* Had him thinking he was Shen-Ron for weeks. Luckily, I know what to do.
Yami: Oh yeah?... What's that?
Mew then proceeded to kiss Yami's cheek, causing the Gengar to freeze before he started screaming demonically. An aura shaped like a Gengar expels off of Yami's body his eyes become less demonic.
Yami: Hey…. I don;t feel evil or demonic anymore! Thanks, Mew!
Mew: No problem, son! *rejoins fight*
Green fires his tail off as he uses Dragon Rush, which manages to Scathe Mewtwo a bit before Cobalt yells and charges at Mewtwo, trying to strike with Force Palm after Force Palm as Mewtwo counters with his own strikes.
Mewtwo: Once I defeat all of you, I will personally disassemble you all, molecule by molecule! I will immortalize my victory in the future's history books, and my clones will DESTROY THOSE BOOKS!
Cobalt is sent back a bit before firing a Steel Beam, which manages to actually hit Mewtwo, but also sent him barreling to the other trainers. He collapses to a knee and turns back to normal as Ash's other Pokemon rejoin them. As Green quickly checks him over, Cobalt looks upon the iensuing battle, horrified to see that most of them weren;t even using moves, but just beating each other to near exhaustion. The only ones really fighting were Mew and Mewtwo as most of the other Pokemon collapsed from exhaustion.
Cobalt: This isn't right…. Pokemon battle naturally… But not like this.
Ash: We've got to stop this.
Green: But how? All Mewtwo cares about is proving how strong those super-clones are.
Nurse Joy: I'd rather risk my life out in Mewtwo's storm than watch these Pokémon destroy each other. I wish there was some way to stop them. *near tears* I don't know what to do!
Brock: I don't think they'll ever stop. Those Pokémon look like they're ready to fight to the death.
Ash: …..Someone's gotta take a stand. Someone's gotta say "no"... Like Mew tried to.
As the two floated back onto the battlefield amidst the brutal fighting, Mew and Mewtwo glow with psychic energy. Seeing this, Ash runs towards them.
Brock: Ash, wait!
Aiden: What are you doing?!
Ash: YOU'VE GOTTA STOP RIGHT NOW!
Both Mew and Mewtwo both fire off powerful beams of energy… Right in the path of where Ash was running.
Ash: STOOOOOOP!
The boy was about to get hit by both blasts…. Before he feels something push him away. Looking back, he sees Cobalt give him a sad smile and, much to Ash's horror… allows himself to get blasted instead. As the blasts cease, Cobalt floats to the floor, then collapses slowly, groaning weakly. Most of the crowd was dead silent, looking on in shock and horror while both Mew's stopped, Mewtwo looking in shock and disbelief and Mew in utter horror.
Mewtwo: Fool! Trying to stop our battle.
Mew: Oh no…
Green: NNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
Green and the other Pokemon run up to Ash and Cobalt, the ones Mega Evolved returning to normal as Ash cradles Cobalt, who's aura is obviously trying to fight the energy, but is causing him in pain as signalled by his labored breathing.
Ash: *tearing up* Cobalt…. WHY DID YOU SAVE ME?!... WHY DO YOU HAVE TO DIE LIKE THIS?!... WHY?!
Cobalt: *breathy* ...You safe me… Iz fair….. I safe you back….
Azula: Cobalt….
Misty: Please, no…..
Cobalt: You….. You all gave me… an amazing life….. *smiles waverly* I love you all…..
With one last act, Cobalt just snuggled closer into Ash's stomach before suddenly, the engy overcame the aura as Cobalt's body turns to stone. With tears brimming, Green tried shaking Cobalt, trying to wake him up, anything! Just don;t let him be dead! PLEASE!...
No response….
And as such, through the months of training and maturing he's done since Pallet Town and the incident with Pikachu… 10-year-old Ash Ketchum just screamed and cried like the child he truly was as he sat in the middle of the stadium, tears flooding down his cheeks as he mumbled things along the lines of "Please" and "Don;t go". Ash's other Pokemon began breaking down as well, Green being nondespondant as tears fell and Azula sobbed harshly as she held Cobalt's cold paw. Psi especially took it hard as they dropped their spoons and collapsed to their knees as they openly sobbed.
Psi: He wanted to be…. The world's strongest Pokemon….. And he succeeded….
Misty and Brock began tearing up as well, Misty retreating into Brock's embrace as she hugged Kestrel, who she tried to hide from the scene when he tried to peek out of her bag. She couldn't let someone as young as him see his father's corpse. All around the stadium, the Pokémon start to shed tears, both the originals and the clones. Mewtwo is in shock of this as Mew looks around, almost shedding atear herself over her careless actions.
Suddenly, the Pokemon's tears… began floating to Cobalt's body, then it then starts glowing blue.
Ash: *sniffles* H…Huh?
Aiden: W…..What's going on?
Green looks around, still heartbroken… But seeing this, he remembers what the harbor manager said back at the harbor by the manager.
Green: "In their sorrow….. the water of their tears restored the lives lost in the storm….. bringing forth…."
Ash: A miracle.
A beam of light then shines on the small group, almost as if a blessing from Arceus itself was being bestowed upon them as the storm dissipated. As Cobalt's hus kept glowing, Ash leaned in, touching his forehead to that of his starter… His BEST FRIEND… His BROTHER…
Ash: *whispers* I love you, Cobalt…
With one last tear from the trainer falling onto Cobalt's forehead, the Lucario's body glows before the light fades…. Revealing Cobalt now returned to normal and he slowly wakes up, much to everyone;s shock.
Cobalt: Wow…. If I;m seeing you, guys…. I must be in Heaven…
Green: You… *angry* YOU ASSHOLE! IF YOU DIE LIKE THAT AGAIN WITHOUT MY SAY-SO, I'LL….. I'll…..
The Sceptile just explodes into tears as he hugs Cobalt tightly, which is followed suit by the others of Ash's team and Ash himself. Brock, Misty, and their Pokemon run over, joining the embrace as Misty hands Kestrel to his father, who smiles and kisses the Togepi forehead while Azula grabs his face and traps Cobalt in a kiss.
During the rejoice, Mewtwo stared at the sight in awe with Mew, wondering aloud, which caught the Lucario's attention.
Mewtwo: A Pokemon sacrificed itself to save a human, and the human… became saddened. The Pokemon wept for the loss as well, even if they difd not know him. I pitted them against each other, but not until they set aside their differences did I see the true power they all share deep inside.
Cobalt: Well…. Yeah. Don;t get me wrong, this is gonna haunt me for life… But that's okay. It'll help me be stronger and grow.. Don;t you get it, Mewtwo? The past doesn;t make you who you are, neither does where you come from…. It's what you do with the time NOW, that truly matters and what makes you who you are.
Mewtwo: I see that now. You truly are… stronger than me. *looks down* I was a fool.
Mew: *joking* Well, now you know, dummy.
Both Mew and Mewtwo begin to glow and use their psychic powers to lift all of the cloned Pokémon into the air. The cloned Pokémon wave goodbye and fly away with Mew and Mewtwo. Ash, the trainers and the other Pokémon watch them fly away.
Cobalt: Mewtwo…. Where are you going?
Mewtwo: Where my heart can learn what yours knows so well. What transpired here, I will always remember… but perhaps for you, these events are best forgotten. Then again… The past could help you.
Mewtwo then disappears into the clouds with the clones and Mew, leaving the trainers and Pokemon behind on the island.
Brock: So…. What now?
Corey: Do we just… Forget?
Aiden: No… No. We can't just forget. Someone has to remember this! Someone has to make sure this doesn;t happen again!
Psi: Do not worry, Aiden. Someone will.
John: Psi, wait!... Are you gonna do a whole Men In Black thing where you erase evertyone's memory of this and no one remembers what happens?
Psi: Um….. Yes?
John: Okay, good.
John then climbs up Green before cupping his face and bringing him into a kiss, making Green turn red as he looks on at the Mankey all flustered as the group all gasped in surprise.
Green: *gasps* John!
John: Do it, Psi!
Green: No no, WAIT WAIT WAIT-
Psi crosses their spoons, causing a bright blue light to shine from the ground that then the light to increase throughout the stadium.

Suddenly, Ash jolts awake, panting hard as he looks around. It's nighttime outside with Brock sleeping in a sleeping bag on the floor and Cobalt and Azula sharing the bottom bunk of his bed and snuggling Kestrel while Green is wrapped up in a blanket as he leans against the wall while Psi meditated in their sleep. The alarm clock on the other side of the room reads "1:29 AM".
Ash was confused, wasn't he on an island just earlier?... Which island?... Seafoam Island, he thought. Yeah, he went there to train. But… Why did he feel like there was another? And… Who is Mewtwo?
Ash: *sighs* Probably just a nightmare.
Psi: *cracks an eye* Is something wrong, Ash? It is 1 in the morning.
Ash: Oh, uh… No, Psi. I just thought we were somewhere else, but… I guess it was all a dream. A really….. Crazy…. And traumatic dream…
Psi: I suppose so. Well, it would be best if you went back to sleep, Ash. After all, we leave for the Pokemon League in the morning.
Ash: Hmm…. Yeah, I better get some more sleep. *turns over* Good night, Psi.
Psi: *smiles* Good night, Ash.
After making sure Ash was fast asleep, Psi looked outside, knowing they hadn;t had much of a peaceful slumber. They had witnessed horrid trauma, had to fight for their life, watched one of their closest friends die, and had to use the full extent of their power to not only wipe everyone's memory of New Island and Mewtwo, but teleport everyone to home. It would be a burden to hold, but Aiden was right. Someone HAD to remember.
However, before they went back to sleep, Psi went over to Cobalt, taking his loose arm to feel for a pulse, just to make sure…. His arm was warm.
Psi: *sighs* Good….
