Villain Vilage Squabble
The very next day after Ash won his match in Kanto, Serena finally arrived at her destination; a tall building within the delves of the biggest city in Kalos; Lumiose City. She opened the door after taking a breath and walked into the building, revealing a semi tody room which seemed to be a mix between a lobby and a library.
Serena: Hello?! Is Professor Sycamore around?
?: That's me, I'm over here.
She looked over to the large stairs at the far end of the room to see a tall middle-aged man with messy black hair, gray eyes, and a bit of facial scruff. It was obvious he was the professor as he wore a lab coat and seemed to be going over a few documents.
?: Hey there, I'm Professor Sycamore. I assume you're here because you want to start your journey?
Serena: *nods* Mm-hmm. I'm Serena Garbena from Vaniiville Town, I've come to get my first Pokemon.
Prof. Sycamore: Well then, before we get started, I oughta give you this.
The man then handed her a handful of Pokeballs, along with a small pink rectangular device with a large screen in the middle and what seemed to be a white dial on the side.
(AN: This is technically the ORAS Pokedex design. Sorry, not a big fan of the bulky, square one from XY.)
Prof. Sycamore: This is your Pokedex and a few spares Pokeballs.
Serena: Wow, thank you so much.
She takes both items from the professor, where she's surprised when the Pokedex's screen lights up.
Prof. Sycamore: By pointing your Pokedex at a Pokemon or by typing in its name, you'll get information on said Pokemon. Here…
The man then throws three Pokeballs, which release three separate Pokemon; a brown weasel like creature with a pink nose and a green head adorned with small quills, a little yellow fox with red fur coming out of its ears, and a small blue frog with bubbles going down its back.
Prof. Sycamore: These are the three starter Pokemon available for new trainers in Kalos. Try scanning them with your Pokedex.
Serena nodded as she turned to the weasel-like on first, pointing her Pokedex at it. The screen displayed its picture and then spoke.
Pokedex: Chespin, the Spiny Nut Pokemon. A Grass type. The quills on its head are usually soft. When it flexes them, the points become so hard and sharp that they can pierce rock.
Serena: Amazing… *points at fox* Then, you're next.
Pokedex: Fennekin, the Fox Pokemon. A Fire type. Fennekin expels hot air from its ears that can reach nearly 400 degrees to regulate its body temperature. It snacks usually on twigs.
Serena: Ah, I get it. *points at frog* And that leaves…
Pokedex: Froakie the Bubble Frog Pokemon. A Water type. From its chest and back, Froakie creates bubbles to use as a cushion and soften the blow of an opponent's attack. Beneath its happy-go-lucky air, it keeps a watchful eye on its surroundings.
Prof. Sycamore: And there we go. So, what do you think? Do any of them catch your eye?
Serena: Well… They're all so cute, but… You see, I already had my mind set on which one I wanted when I left.
She then walked overto the Pokemon and knelt down…. Smiling, as he faced Fennekin.
Serena: Fennekin, my name is Serena. Let's be good friends!
Fennekin: *gasps* Yes! Yes, let's do it!
With that out of the way, Serena was given Fennekin's Pokeball by the professor as she bid him farewell, carrying Fennekin all the way as she walked away from the building.
Fennekin: I can't believe it! I'm actually going on a journey with a trainer! I never get picked, I'm so excited!
Serena: *pets Fennekin* You're really excited for our journey, huh?... Hey, can I tell you a secret?
Fennekin: Why? It's like you can understand me.
At this, Serena just giggled before stopping to lean against a building, leaning close to the fox in her arms to whisper in her ear.
Serena: *whispers* I can understand you….
Fennekin: *surprised* You're kidding!
She nodded her head no, which only made Fennekin more surprised.
Fennekin: I.. Uh…. How long?!
Serena: Ever since I was born. Now let's get going. We can talk more when we're out of the city.
Though surprised at the prospect of her new trainer being a Speaker, Fennekin just allowed herself to plop in Serena's grasp as she walked off into the Kalos day, possibly towards the first step of her journey.

Back in Kanto, Ash was getting to the finale of his battle on the grass field, the challenge now being a 3-on-3 battle against a young man who weilded a Scyther and a Hitmonchan, which had just been defeated by Psi, who he had just recalled.
Announcer: And now we make it to the conclusion of the match as Ash Ketchum recalls his Alakazam after the stunning defeat of his Charizard. Let's see how Rolo chooses next to make the winning decision!
Rolo: *throws Pokeball* Go!
The ball opens to show a large rock creature similar to Geodude, only larger with actual feet and large arms coming out from the back..
Announcer: And Rolo's last Pokemon is Graveler! Now let's see what the popular newcomer Ash Ketchu can offer!
Pokedex: Graveler, the Rock Pokémon and the evolved form of Geodude. A Rock and Ground type. This slow-footed Pokémon moves by curling up and rolling instead of walking. With enough momentum, its speed can exceed 60 mph. Mossy rocks are its favorite food.
Green: Rock and Ground, eh? *smirks* I suppose this means I'm up?
Ash: *nods* I wouldn't want it any other way. *points* Alright Green, I choose you!
Cobalt: You got this, dude!
Green then jumps over the rails of Ash's platform, flipping forward before landing right on his feet.
Announcer: And Ash goes with his Sceptile! Can his Forest King's high speed be enough to take down Graveler's brute strength?!
Rolo: Graveler, use Rollout!
The Rock Pokemon curled up before rolling right towards Green, who leered as it drew closer.
Ash: Eathquake, then use Leaf Blade!
Green slammed his tail onto the ground, causing the ground to shake and the grass to sift. However, the ground did more than that as the shaking caused Graveler's momentum to cease and the rock to stumble right into the Sceptile's Leaf Blade.
Rolo: Use Rock Blast!
Graveler's body shined as it landed before getting up, firing small bursts of energy from its palms at Green, who managed to duck out of the way of most of them, but got hit by the final 3.
Rolo: Now Rock Smash!
Ash: Meet it with Dragon Rush!
Green coated himself in the same blue-ish energy as before as Graeler approached with a raised, glowing fist. But however, instead of charging at Graveler, Green felt the instinct to open his mouth and allow the energy to form there before releasing it into a large blast that morphed to resemble a dragon. The blast hit Graveler and knocked it back, much to Ash and Cobalt's shock.
Announcer: And look at that! Kethum doubles down on the Dragon with his Togetic using Outrage via Metronome but also his Sceptile now converting Dragon Rush into Dragon Pulse!
Cobalt: …Well, that was unexpected.
Ash: I'll say. Green, use Leaf Storm!
Rolo: Graveler, Rollout!
The Graveler began rolling once more, but while it rolled, Green blasted the Graveler with a barrage of leaves, dealing supereffective damage. Just as Green was about to get hit, Graveler unfurled to reveal it had fainted.
Referee: Graveler is unable to battle, the winner is Sceptile! And that means, the match goes to Ash Ketchum!
As the crowd cheered, Green hopped back onto Ash's platform and trapped him into a hug, which Ash laughed at and happily returned. Though as they cheered, Gary was seen watching from the exit in the seats with his cheerleaders. Though as he gained a bit of animosity for Ash's win streak, he did carry a smile as he left.
Gary: I'll give him this… He's good. But a few lucky wins won't be enough to win the competition, right girls?
The cheerleaders simply cheered for Gary as he left, allowing Ash and his team to continue in their splender. Wow…. What a cocky ass.
After the match, Ash made sure to heal his team at the Pokemon Center, since he knew it would be flooded by the evening, which was when the battles for the day would end. Currently, Ash was at his cabin in the Pokemon Village, having himself a rest on the couch as his team ate the Pokemon Chow Brock had given them since he, Loki, and Misty were going out to see the sights.
Yami: Still can't believe it. Two more fights, then we get into the stadium!
Kestrel: Not to forget, I freaking evolved, which is always amazing!
Azula: Of course, sweetie…. *glances at Cobalt* I just wished your father talked this thing of letting you compete over with me.
Cobalt: *nervous laugh* …So, Ash? Any big plans tonight?
Ash: Well… I was thinking about joining Misty and Brock in seeing the sights of the Village, but I think we need to carry on with training.
Aiden: What? Aw come on, Ash! Don't let us stop you, you'll have plenty of time to train. Go off, have fun.
Ash: Well… I don't know-
Cobalt: Come on, you deserve it. Green and I will even come with you. It'll be like a guy's night.
Ash thought it over. He indeed had time to train and he needed it to win the league, but then again, you can't train if you're worn out and swamped by work. Plus, he was rather curious about what he would find at the Indigo Village.
Ash: *gets up* Alright, we'll do it. Psi, you're in charge. We'll be back in a few hours.
Psi: I shall make sure this establishment does not burn while you are away.
Green: Uh…. Good.
The rest of the Pokemon waved goodbye to the three as they walked out the door, Yami speaking up as the door closed and he looked out the window.
Yami: Okay, they're gone in…. NOW! We got possibly 4-5 hours, let's do this!
Nodding, Psi uses their psychic powers on the cabinet, where a few bags of chips were held as Azula grabbed multiple cans of soda from the fridge. Seeing this, Aiden puts on a novelty hat as he sits on the couch, the remote flipping into his hand. As Azula passes out the cans and places two can into Aiden's hat, the rest sit on the couch, with Kestrel in Azula's lap. Seeing everyone in place, Aiden turns on the TV with the remote.
Aiden: Hey Psi, don't you think our new watching habits are bit over the top-
Psi: *shushes* Shut up, shut up, it's starting!
TV: And now, your feature presentation. The season premiere of the acclaimed series: The Noctowl House!
The party cheered as the show began, settling down as the first episode started.
Azula: So worth the trauma of the last season finale.

Ash, Cobalt, and Green arrived just as it turned dar, looking around to see many people taking in the sights or checking out the shops and restaurants.
Green: So this is the village strip. This place is incredible.
Cobalt: So, what should we do first?
Before Ash could respond however, the three stopped as Ash's stomach growled, making the boy gain a bashful smile.
Ash: Guess all those battles work up an appetite. Sorry about that.
Green: Well, there's our answer. Let's go find Ash something to eat.
As they looked around for a restaurant to stop at, they also took in the shops and stands on the road. Cobalt fiddled with a small Cuboe bobblehead, which made him smile as they then saw a parade with multiple floats passing by.
Cobalt: Man, this place has a ton of cool stuff to do. So Ash, any thoughts on your team for the next round?
Ash: They told me my next match is on the ice field, so my opponent could use Ice-type Pokemon. So definitely you and Aiden, probably Azula if there's swimming involved.
However, they stopped as they looked forward and heard a woman they looked to see that the voice was from an Incineroar passing out small bittles in exchange for money.
Incineroar: Meowth Nuggets here! Going fast! Get 'em while they're hot! Get 'em while they're throat-burning! *notices Ash* Oh hey, it's you!
Cobalt: Hey, I remember you. Weren't you the Incineroar we fought a few days ago that James decided to take for Jessie?
Incineroar: Yeah, that's me. And honestly, probably the best thing to happen to me. Oh, I'm Kiara, by the way.
Cobalt: I'm Cobalt. So, what're doing here? I thought you guys would've left once James lost.
Kiara: Still money to make before we move onto the next town. If we keep thi up, we could get a tablet or something.
Ash: Excuse me, sorry to interrupt… But is there a restaurant anywhere near here?
The Heel Pokemon looked confused that he'd be asking her before Green cleared things up.
Green: Ash, our trainer, can understand Pokémon. Kinda like that James guy that brought you to Jessie.
Kiara: *eyes widen* Oh, uh… Yeah, actually. *points* Just head that way, it should be the 3rd building to your left.
Ash: Thank you so much.
As Ash and his two starters walked off, Kiara waved them off just as Meowth had come over, carrying the same tray she was.
Meowth: So, how much did ya make?
The Incineroar smiled as she pulled out a huge wad of cash.
Kiara: Turns out being a foreign Pokemon selling treats really boosts up sales.
Meowth: *grabs wad* YOINK! *counts cash* Now there is some real profit here, Ki. Keep this up, we'll be living large in no time! *to himself* Now, if only Jessie would agree with my idea for solid gold pants…
Kiara: …*dreamily sighs* I love a man who looks to the future.
As Meowth was about to question what the bigger feline said, Jessie could be heard screaming as a man wearing a trenchcoat ran by carrying a paper bag with Jessie running behind him, now in a vendor's outfit.
Jessie: Get back here, you absolute dick! STOP! *stops, pants* Dammit!
Meowth: The hell's going on?
Jessie: That guy stole a bunch of our snack-stock without paying, that's what! *growls* The absolute… What happened to this region? Nobody respects "Honor Among Thieves" anymore. That's why Johto is killing us.
Meowth: Hopefully James's luck is better.
Speaking of which, the blue haired man walked over to his friends, his face devoid of emotion and absolutely destroyed as a Hoppip is seen flying away in the background.
Meowth: So, did you make any profits?
James: Profits….. That word to me is unknown…..
Jessie: What's wrong with you?
James: I was just the victim of a horrible crime.
Immediately, Jessie and Meowth dropped the snark, growing concerned for their frind's safety.
Meowth: What happened?!
James: I just lost my money…
Jessie: You were mugged?! *checks him over* Did you get beat up? I don't see any bruises.
James: No, I… I was selling the Meowth Nuggets like we agreed when I turned around and saw a stand… Selling Chimecho.
Jessie: "Chimecho"? Like the Pokemon?
James: I've always wanted one. Ever since I was a boy, I was enraptured by their sleek design, that amazing wavy tail, that absolutely beautiful, healing, voice~, When I saw th Chimecho, I just knew it was my last and only chance to ever get one, but then, as I handed over the money….. I TURNED TO BE A HOPPIP!
Though James was absolutely miserable, Jessie and Meowth suddenly grew… Less sympathetic.
Jessie: You mean to tell me…. You wasted OUR money….. On ANOTHER STUPID POKEMON SCAM?!
Meowth: *despindent* How much are we out this time?
James: Well…. Turns out, all of it.
Just as Jessie was about to pummel the man, another form seemed to float up to them. It was a small blueish-white round Pokemon with a red stripe around its body, yellow eyes, small limbs, a yellow growth atop its head, and underneath its body extends a long, tag-like tail that has amaranth patterning at the bottom.
Meowth: Chimecho! It aint no scam, this is a real one!
Kiara: What's it doing here though? *to Chimecho* Do you have a trainer?
Chimecho: Oh no, I'm wild. I just love~ festivals. Everything down here seemed so bright and happy, I just HAD to come down and see~.
As the Chimecho spoke, the others sighed in content, almost as if their stress was melted away.
Jessie: Wow… That is soothing.
Meowth: It's lke a massage on my eardrums.
James: Say.. If you have nothing else to do, wmaybe you'd like to come along with me?
Chimecho: …Okay.
Smiling, James took out a Pokeball, which the Chimecho voluntarily tapped and got tiself sucked insdie. The ball lit up a few times before locking, showing the capture was a success.
James: *overjoyous* A Chimecho! It's finally mine!
Jessie: Well, that was a pretty easy catch.
Meowth: Sometimes all you gotta do is ask.
Jessie: Well then, good for James….. *angry* But that won't stop that thief after he made off with our product with a payoff!
James: Wait… Someone made off with what without what?
Later on, Ash and his two starters walked out of an all-you-can-eat restaurant, sall of them looking satisfied.
Cobalt: That was delicious…
Green: I still can't believe we got to eat for free. *suave* The waitress must've seen how slick I was learning Dragon Pulse during the match.
Ash: Green, she already said that League participants eat for free.
Green: …..*frowns* You couldn't just let me have this?
Jessie: *off-screen* Twerp, don't let him get away!
The boy confusedly looked over, seeing the former Rockets chasing after a cloaked figure heading right towards them. The man pushed Ash out of the way, eliciting Cobalt to help keep Ash on his feet as the three joined Jessie and James in chasing the guy.
Ash: What's going on?
James: That guy just heisted some of our nuggs and now we'll be in rags instead of riches!
Jessie: *starts running faster* Not if I can help it!
The group keeps running until the figure ducks down into an alley, where they manage to try and corner him, only to see the man and two other figures eating the nuggets from the bag.
Jessie: HEY! Either fork over the nuggets or the dough for said nuggets before I lug you on the head!
Wobbuffet: *pops up* That's right!
Female Voice: How about you…. *growls* You….
Meowth: Wait a sec… Dat voice!
The man then throws off his cloak as the other two figures reveal themselves, the former Rockets growing enraged as the ones in the alley were Cassidy, Butch, and Sableye.
Ash: Team Rocket!
James: What? We're right here.
Ash: Oh. No, not you. Them.
James: Gotcha.
Butch: Well, lookie here! It'd be the Rocketed Disgraces, Jessica and Jim.
Jessie: Don't you dare call me Jessica, only my possibly dead mother can!
Cassidy: Well, you might be joining her then! So prepare for trouble...
Butch: ...and make it double!
Both: Here's our mission, so you better listen!
James: Wait, wh…. What are they doing?
Cassidy: To infect the world with devastation!
Butch: To blight the people in every nation!
Cassidy: To denounce the goodness of truth and love!
Butch: To extend our wrath to the stars above!
Cassidy: Cassidy!
Butch: And Butch, of course!
Jessie: Are… Are you kidding?! They're doing the damn motto!... And they changed it!
Cassidy: Team Rocket, circling the Earth all day and night!
Butch: Surrender now for you will surely lose the fight!
Sableye: Got that right!... See? I got my part down.
Meowth: This is Tauros-shit! What're you goofs even doing here?!
Butch: Doing what you idiots couldn't; stealing powerful Pokemon! We've had to pick up the slack after you three stained the great Team Rocket name!
Jessie: And the nuggets?
Cassidy: Just a little payback. Plus, stealing Pokemon really builds up a real appetite.
Looking behind them, Ash spotted they indeed had a huge sack full of Pokeballs. Growing angry, Ash stood tall against the two Rocket members.
Ash: You're not going to get away with this! We're taking those Pokemon back!
Butch: *snickers* You really like riding the pain train, huh kid? Cass, do your thing!
Nodding, assidy got out the pager and pressed the button. Suddenly, a cry from behind caused the group to spot a Fearow swooping down from behind. The group yrelled in fright and ducked down. However, the Fearow only dropped off the usual Rocket Prize Master and flew off.
Meowth: Hey! That's the-
Cassidy: Rocket Prize Master! Sableye, lock and load!
Sableye nodded as he then inserted the coin around his neck into the coin slot and turned the dial, where the machine then dispenses two Rocket Balls from it as the two pick up one each.
Cassidy: Now, let's see what I won!
She then throws the Pokeball, releasing a pink Pokemon resembling a jellyfish, sporting a round crown-like crest on its head, wavy appendages with two acting like arms, and red eyes with blue irises.
Cassidy: The Floating Pokemon, Frillish!
Butch: *throws Pokeball* And now for me….
From Butch's Pokeball popped out a large yellow and firry Pokemon with black stripes, a long striped tail and antannae on its head that also came with a mohawk.
Butch: The Electric Pokemon, Electabuzz!
Though Ash recognized Electabuzz from oe of the matches he watched during the League, Ash was confused by the floating jelly Pokemon and scanned it.
Pokedex: Frillish, the Floating Pokémon. A Water and Ghost type. Frillish can constrict its foes using its veil-like tentacles and numb them with poison from its microscophic stingers. Due to living in the deep sea and being able to live in complete darkness, there is a legend where Frillish are said to have been created from the soul from residents of a sunken ancient city.
Ash: Alright… Green, are you good for one more battle?
Green: *nods, steps forward* Anything to get rid of these clowns.
James: Allow me to bring some assistance, Ash.
Cobalt: James?
James: *throws Pokeball* Chimecho, help us out!
James's newly caught Chimecho was released upon the battlefield, shocking Green as from what his father told him these were a couple of the rarest Pokemon in Hoenn. Once again, Ash scanned with his Pokedex.
Pokedex: Chimecho, the Wind Chime Pokémon. A Psychic type. Chimecho has a voice that reverberates from deep within its hollow body. Depending on its emotion, Chimecho can either create soft serenous songs or high-pitched screeches.
Cassidy: Well, it seems we need to up the anty to get our point across. Sableye, get in there!
Jessie: Go, Kiara!
Both the Sableye and Incineroar stepped into the fray, both sides glaring at one another as Ash called out the first shot.
Ash: Green, use Leaf Blade on Frillish!
James: Chimecho, Disarming Voice on Sableye!
Jessie: Kiara, hit that Electabuzz with Darkest Lariat!
The two Pokemon lunged forward as Chimecho unleashed a screech accompanied by pink aura and hearts at the Sableye.
Butch: Electabuzz, counter with Thunder Punch!
Cassidy: Frillish, use Bubblebeam! And Sableye, use Power Gem!
As Electabuzz countered Kiara's spin with an electricity coated fist, Frilish pelted Green with a steady stream of bubbles, but that wasn't enough to stop him as he struck the Floating Pokemon with his arm blade. Sableye shot two cryystalize rays from his gem eyes, which destroyed Chimecho's Disarming Voice.
Butch: Now, Brick Break!
Ash: Hurry, defend Kiara with Leaf Storm!
Green backflipped and unleashed a large flurry of leaves which not only hit Electabuzz, but all three of Team Rocket's Pokemon.
Sableye: You see, this is why I hate plants.
Cassidy: Sableye, Frllish, both of you use Shadow Ball!
Jessie: Fire Blast!
James: Use Echoed Voice!
Both shadowy blobs were countered by a large flaming kanji as Chimcho let out a loud echoed shriek at two of the Pokemon as Sableye was immune.
Ash: Green, use Leaf Blade!
Cassidy: Counter with Night Slash!
Blade and claw lashed against one another, however Green's superior strength had managed to overpower the Darkness Pokemon, all three of the available Pokemon too exhausted to counterattack.
Ash: Now, send them off with a Dragon Pulse!
Nodding, Green opened his mouth to unleash another dragon-shaped beam which hit the Team Rocket group, sending them all flying…. Except for the Frillish as a wallet seemed to have dropped between her and the sack of Pokeballs. This caused Meowth to pick up the wallet and take out all the available cash to count it.
Meowth: Hmm…. Yep, this should cover it. *to Ash* I can;t believe I'm actually saying this to ya, twerp. But….. *smiles* Thanks
Ash: Don;t mention it… Really, don't.
Cobalt: But I wonder why that Frillish girl is still here.
Realizing she was still there, Frillish looked around, only to gape in shock as she spotted her Rocket Ball cleaved in half, officially releasing her.
Jessie: Huh, your ball must've broken in the explosion.
The Frillish crooned as she picked up the ball pieces. Do;t get it wrong, she hated doing bad, but… At least she blonged somewhere. Jessie saw a bit of herself in the Pokemon, feeling the same lost feeling when her mother went missing and being forced into a foster home when she was a girl.
Jessie: 'Maybe Meowth's right… Maybe sometimes all you gotta do is ask.' Well, since you're not in Team Rocket anymore…. *smiles* Do you… Want to come with me?
She didn't need James or Meowth to translate Frillish's innocent smile, joyous over the offer as Jessie took out a Pokeball and tapped it on the Frillish, sucking her inside and locking without a 'rrstruggle. After Jessie, James, and Meowth parted from Ash and the boy dropped the sack off at the Pokemon Center, he, Cobalt, and Green finally decided to head back to the cabin… Only to see the party passed out on the couch, having been binge-wtaching some sort of show.

The very next day, Ash was seen battling on the ice field, having been using Cobalt primarily to battle the trainer's Lapras and now the girl's Cloyster, who just seemed to keep raising its defenses after the defeat of Azula.
Announcer: Now we're waiting for this third-round match between Pallet Town's Ash Ketchum and Seafoam Village's Petra Bubbleman to conclude on the Ice Field. Both trainers have already won one battle a piece.
Ash: Cobalt, hit it with Force Palm!
Petra: Cloyster, Withdraw now!
As Cobalt charged at the bivalve, Cloyster simply closed its shell and fell over, allowing Cobalt to strike its surface. Growling, Cobalt kept the assault going, not even making a dent.
Green: Not even a scratch! This is bad, if Cobalt gets worn out, you'll have to switch.
Ash: No, Green, This is good. Even though Cobalt seems like he's not doing any damage, he actually has since his assault is only gtting faster and faster and Cloyster is weak to Fighting-type moves.
Green: Oh… Oh, so he'll be just fine. Gotcha.
Ash: Cobalt, keep hammering away!
Nodding back to his trainer, Cobalt kept up the assault of Force Palms on the shell before suddenly… CRACK! The shell opened up, revealing Cloyster to be unconscious.
Referee: Cloyster is unable to battle, the winner is Lucario!
Announcer: *as Cloyster is recalled* Seems that Ketchum's 'Cario was able to crack the case of Cloyster! Now with one Pokemon left, who will Petra choose?
Petra: Go, Arcanine!
The girl released an Arcanine similar to Gary's only a little smaller than the boy's larg wolf, much to the audience's surprise.
Announcer: And by a big surprise, Bubbleman's chosen Arcanine, a Fire type.
Misty: Uh oh, this could be trouble.
Brock: Cobalt's part Steel-type and with Arcanine being a Fire-type, this could mean trouble for Ash if he doesn't switch.
Ash: Cobalt, come back!
Though confused, the Lucario turned tail and jumped back to his trainer and brother as they spoke a little.
Cobalt: Okay, we're going against a Fire type, so a Water would be a good idea.
Green: But Azula's just been defeated… Maybe a Rock type?
Ash: Hunter is back at the lab. Wait! I think I got it… *throws Pokeball* Go, Aiden!
Ash released his Charizard, who roared into the ksy and released a stream of fire as he did.
Announcer: And Ketchum bringa forth the return of Charizard in exchange for Lucario! It's fighting fire with fire on the ice field. And despit the name, things here are really heating up!
Ash: Aiden, fly around up above to confuse it!
Nodding, Aiden took flight and zoomed off, spinning in a large circle that seemed to be confusing the large wolf.
Petra: Arcanine, use Dragon Rage!
Ash: Counter with Dragon Claw!
Aiden's claws glowed green as he then slashed the ball of blue energy Arcanine spewed at him.
Ash: Now, Flamethrower!
As Aiden released a Flamethrower from his mouth, Arcanine leapt out of the way onto a taller ice piece. Growling, Aiden fired again, which Arcanine dodged.
Aiden: *growls* You little- *fires* Hold still! *fires*
Green: That Arcanine's too fast, even for Aiden! We need to find a way to stop it in its tracks!
As Ash looked on in desperation, he noticed something. When Aiden fired at the spot where Aracnine had been beor it dodged, he noticed that the ice seemed to melt.
Ash: That's it…. Aiden, use Flamethrower on the battlefield!
The Charizard blasted his flame breath onto the battlefield, much to everyone's bewilderment.
Misty: What's he doing?
Brock: *smiles* Look a little closer.
The girl did just that, her eye catching that the field seemed to grow smaller and smaller with each blast from the dragon.
Misty: *gasps* He's having Aiden melt the entire field to Arcanine from running!
And just as Misty said that, most of the field had melted, revealing Arcanine on a small iceberg in the middle of a large pool.
Announcer: Unbelievable! With only a sall aries of Flamethrowers, the whole field hads melted down to a little iceberg! With nowhere to go, Arcanine is trapped and can no longer dodge!
Petra: We still have our other moves, Arcanine! Use Fire Blast!
Ash: Dodge, and use Air Slash!
Aiden flew around Arcanine's kanji blast and flapped his wings to unleash a series of air saws that struck the massive canine.
Ash: Alright, let's end this! Combine Dragon Claw and Seismic Toss to use Dragon Assault!
With glowing green claws, Aiden swooped down onto the Arcanine and grabbed it, digging his claws into Arcanine. As he did this and flew up, Aiden spun in the air a volley of times before doing one last spin and throwing Arcanine into the pool below, submerging Arcanine into the water.
Petra: Arcanine!
After a few seconds, Arcanine quickly popped out and frantically swam and climbed onto the iceberg, panting from exhaustion and fainting in the process.
Referee: Arcanine is unable to battle, the winner is Charizard! And that means, the match goes to Ash Ketchum!
The crowd erupted into screams and cheers as Arcanine was recalled, eliciting Ash and his team to cheer as well.
Cobalt: You did it, Aiden! You won us our third match!
Ash: Thanks a ton, Aiden!
Aiden flew over to Ash and nuzzled him roughly, showing his affection for his trainer even though it knocked him downwards. With 3 of the element field battles out of the way, Ash now only needs to win one more to battle in the Indigo Stadium. But will he be able to win the whole shebang?
Well…. We'll just have to wait and see.
