Part 17 - The Trial Pt 1
Few months after the intial arrest of Nathanial Black was over and done with, the time for the trial took its time to begin, as the lawyers on Bella and Charlie's behalf wanted to gather more evidence and more meat on the bones on the case itself, and also during all this, arrests of more corrupt cops of Charlie's precient was being made and they were also now awaiting trials of their own criminal behaviour and being corrupted and/or paid off by the offenders of said crimes that they had been identified to be the real criminal of said crimes but had paid the said cops off to keep their names and reputation in town still in the clear.
It made alot of their victims happy and relieved that they were going to have their own days in court for the serious crimes they had been put through by these offenders who believed to be in the clear and free to do whatever and live their lives as they had before.
Either way, the day of the court finally happened on December 1st, and it was up in Seattle court that it would take place, so everyone who wantd to be there and was involved one way or another with either Bella, Charlie or the offender of the crime, Nathan Black was able to be there. And despite her disownment of her own son, his mother came but sat on Bella's side of the room, and not Nathan's. What a shock he and the others who sat on his side despite his already guilty answer to said crime would get when they saw her there.
Bella and Dan sat by her lawyers, she had two, one for her and one who had been Charlie's and was there in his stead as he knew what Charlie would say at his court day of this crime, as Charlie had told him what he was to say and not hold back. Bella was there for her own sake, and tell her side of things on the day it all happened.
Renee and Phil were also here but further back, as the media had come before them and taken the seats from them to have so they could be one row behind Bella and her Dan, and tell her to stop lying, at least what Renee wanted her to do at least, Phil was more indifferent about it all still, but leaning more onto Bella's side being the truth. Not he told Renee this of course, being the coward he was still to this day.
All too soon, the back doors opened and in came the judge of the case, and it was a female judge, and she strode forward, while all stood up still, she said
"Welcome today to the murder case of former Chief Charles "Charlie" Swan, and his alleged killer, Nathanial Black, who has since his arrest made the decision to confirm that he is the killer of Charles Swan, therefore the job of our chosen jurors are to listen on everything being said today, and then give out their verdict that suits Nathanial Black this week. Now all of you may be seated."
And with that the whole room sat down in anciptation and wonder, but also shock on some faces across the room, of hearing that this man had confessed and told that he is the killer of Charlie. Bella was not too shocked, as she knew and had a feeling that he did it to see if his conviction would be lesser sentence, but what none of them knew, was that the jurors would choose life without any chance of parole for rest of his normal life would ever happen. He was to sit out the time until his own death happened in jail.
Jacob and Billy were two who had shock on theirs, of what the judge had said so far and that their nephew/cousin confessed to a crime they felt was not his own doings but he took on someone else's. His mother was not crying or anything instead she looked determinated to sit there and hear it all from her ex-son's mouth and hear his own reasonings of said crime on why he did it in first place and so forth.
