Daemons of the Cainite Protectorate
Contained within this report is all our Brotherhood knows about the Daemons encountered so far amongst Cainite forces, compiled into a single document for the benefit of the rest of the Grey Knights. Note that these Daemons do not generate Veil degradation the way Daemons who serve other patrons do, and are in general far less lethal, though far more effective on the battlefield. It's also noteworthy that the rituals to summon them, while more complex, don't require certain materials (i.e. human sacrifices) that are essential to the summoning of other Daemons, and thus Cainite cults are able to call them forth without fear of collateral damage or having to harm themselves or innocents.
Blood Knights
These daemons seem similar at first glance to Bloodletters of Khrone, distinguished only by their gleaming silver full-body armor and lack of the flaming eyes and swords typical of Khronate Daemons. In battle, they demonstrate exponentially more skill and tactical acumen than their hot headed, Khrone-aligned (presumed) brethren. However, they are also quite possibly the most trustworthy daemons encountered so far (insofar as a daemon can even be trusted), for they consider their word binding in letter and spirit alike. They also expect others to be as honorable as they are; the quickest way to incur the wrath of one of these Daemons is to go back on a promise.
Fascinatingly enough, these Daemons show an uncharacteristic level of concern for civilian casualties, comparable to the likes of the Lamentors or Salamanders. Blood Knights have been witnessed enduring extreme risks to extract innocents from battle zones unharmed, and thesecondquickest way to incur their wrath is to intentionally target civilians. During a (temporary, underextremeNurglite-induced duress) truce, a Blood Knight, seeing a Paladin witnessing one-such act of sacrifice with disbelief, commented "Chaos always finds a way. Doesn't mean it has to be cruel about it."
Sisters of Mercy
These Daemons resemble veiled, cloaked humanoids with pink skin who carry syringes as 'weapons'. Bizarrely enough, they are technical pacifists who adhere to a strict "do no harm" policy; they generally limit themselves to humanitarian aid and field triage services, using their syringes to administer panacea doses to allies; even when forced to fight, their attacks are purely non-lethal, for they restrict themselves to syringe loaded with powerful-but-harmless sedatives. Don't be fooled by their refusal to kill; they have inhuman speed and agility that rivals that of the most mobile Eldar foot soldiers, and the sedatives they carry are powerful enough to render a Primaris Astartes unconscious for hours on end.
AN: Writing these up for CC:GoC, but they could fit in CC:WoC too. Anyway, if you have any ideas for other Daemons that are aligned with the Protectorate's more reasonable brand of Chaos worship, feel free to share them with me! I'm accepting suggestions.
