Vlad: "Wait, The Brood was planning on creating a ritual sacrifice using the death of the civilians to breakdown the barrier between the Warp? Did Cain suspect this and that is why he went to protect them?"
Vlad has horrific PTSD flashbacks of what happened the last time the Brood did that.
Hektor: "I'd imagine so. In my experience with him, he has a grand talent for accomplishing both moral and strategic objectives simultaneously while also being able to keep such a view of the bigger picture and predict his enemies movements and tactics that even I didn't catch on until in the midst of the fighting."
Vlad: "...I guess we are all further in his debt, his foresight might have saved us all."
Meanwhile with Cain seeing another wave of the Brood baring down on him, with that looked to be a horrific entity of half a hundred vampires all fused into one writhing puss filled mass charging right at him faster then anything that size should be able too.
Cain in his mind: "Ah Frak. I should have stayed with the main army. I just wanted a turkey shoot that I could get stuck in and then arrive conveniently after all the fighting was already done!"
