His soul cracked, failing to dodge the attacked as he cornered himself in the swarm of fireballs from Toriel.
"Subaru?!/Subaru-kun?!/Cap'n/Subaru-dono?!/Natsuki-kun?!"
The world around turns to black focusing on nothing but the cracked soul. Then, in a split second, the soul shatters to pieces, signifying Subaru's death.
No one said anything. All of them were trying to process in light of the events that happened on screen.
"...What?" Felt broke the silence. "What the fuck just happened?!"
"...Cap'n...died???" Garfied spoke, confused, trying to make sense as to what just happened.
"N-no. Impossible! Betty contractor is right here! In fact!" Beatrice shouted, hugging the alive boy.
Emilia and Rem were silent, holding for dear life for the boy they love and staring at the screen for answers
A tune played as the words "game over" displayed over a black void.
"You cannot give up just yet... Stay! determined..."
A deep voice echoed through the screen, as Natsuki Subaru jolted up in this black void, confused and shocked at the feeling of his shattering opon death.
"W-what...???" Subaru said to himself as his hand hovered above his glowing red soul outside his chest, the pain of having his soul shatter to pieces dissappearing immediately.
Needless to say, the whole theater were just as confused as Subaru was on screen. Nothing was making sence to them right now.
This is before the Witch of Envy took him to their world and bless/curse him with Return By Death.
So him dying in the past long before his summoning made no sense to them.
They could only stare at the screen hoping that it answered their questions.
"Where...where am I? Is this the afterlife?" Subaru asked himself, scared and confused as he looked around and seeing nothing but a void. The tune still playing as the [Game Over] words hovered above him.
Subaru then walked towards the words as he then jolted back as two buttons appeared infront of him.
[CONTINUE] [RESET]
"Heh?" Subaru looked at the two buttons with confusion as his head tilted.
"...No. No way. No fucking way?!" Al stared at the screen in silence, the dots connecting in his head.
"What?! Speak up Aldebaran!" Priscilla demanded him to tell her what he seemingly figured out.
"Those stars! The file saves! This whole thing! Don't tell me this kid always had the ability to Return By Death this whole time!?" Al exclaimed.
Everyone in the theater's eyes widened in shock and surprise at that claim.
"Subaru?" Emilia looked at her sleeping knight then looked at his younger form on screen, wanting to find answers for this.
"Continue? Reset?" Subaru looked at the two buttons. His hand then hovered above the continue button as his soul manifested on that hand as he pressed it.
His soul glowed red as a yellow light consumed his vision and the screen.
Then, Subaru opened his eyes seeing he was infront of Toriel's home, on the exact moment he first saved his file here.
"Cool! I have game's ability to save and load save files! In real life! I'm like a real life game player! Is this magic?! Did my soul give me this?!"
Subaru couldnt help but be giddy and excited at this. The pain of him dying via soul shattering to pieces already forgotten from his mind.
Those in the theater looked at young Subaru on screen with wide eyes and jaws wide open.
"This is...a really big contrast compared to...well, what we thought was his ability was like in our world..." Ricardo spoke and couldn't help but compare this scene and and his "first" realization to Return By Death.
Roswall couldn't help but stare at the screen with wider eyes than anyone else.
"...Subaru...did you really have this ability a long time ago...and it was superior than what you have today?" Roswall muttered to himself as he remembered the two buttons.
Ram heard him and couldn't help but think about the implications of on screen Subaru's ability and current Subaru's Return By Death.
"Wait? Can I?" Subaru willed his Soul out like it was breathing. His soul glowed in his hand as he summoned his Save File as the [CONTINUE] and [RESET] buttons hovered below it.
"No way..." Subaru's eyes widened. He grinned as he ran a far bit away from the save point.
The theater held their breaths as they waited the results.
Subaru pressed the button, loading his save file, and finding himself at his save point.

"Okay! Pause! I need to think about this!" Felt yelled out, her mind going a million miles and hour seeing this. "What the fuck!?"
"This is...suprising" Anastasia couldn't help but be intrigued...and curious as to how he seemingly doesnt have the same alternate methods now to return to his save points.
"So...anyone got an idea why he cant do the things he can do on screen nowadays?" Ricardo said, he couldn't fathom how Subaru cant will himself back in time to loop instead of dying.
Roswall stared at the screen, silent. He blinked, then let out a exasperated sigh.
'Natsuki Subaru. Did you really lose these methods of looping?! All that suffering could've been lessen!? Did the witch caused the loss of your abilities?!'
Roswall thought, grating his teeth and massaging his temple at the mere thought of the superior variant of Return By Death, one that had him control of the save points.
"So, is that still Return By Death? Or is it exactly like Subaru-kyun assumed...his Soul's...magic?" Felix questioned as his mind couldn't help but think Subaru having this version of looping...less suffering...heck maybe even able to save Crusch-sama if that [RESET] button meant what he thought it meant.
Both Rem and Crusch had similar thoughts to crossdressing catboy. And they were pissed if the Witch of Envy was the reason of the loss of his abilities.
"...Betty...Betty believes that wasn't an authority...and was infact Betty's contractor's on ability..." Beatrice said and didnt know what to say else, she was just shocked at what she saw.
"But...how? How did Subaru lose this? Why cant he do this now?" Emilia asked, thinking about all the suffering her knight could've avoided, maybe event speak about it since its his powers and not the Witch's.
"Betty believes it was the authority of Envy. Perhaps granting Betty's contractor the authority removed his own ability...granting him Return By Death...a cheap imitation with no alternate looping method and with the Witch in control of his save points."
Beatrice said her theory. It was the only one she could come to conclusion.
"But...Natsuki-kun's memories? The trials at the Sanctuary? Why would he look surprised when he first died in our world at the loot house?" Otto pointed out, seeing the timeline didnt match up to today.
"...Its possible the Witch manipulated with his mind and memories." Beatrice said her thoughts. It made sense in her mind, Envy was obsessed with her contractor, why not manipulate his memories where he would be more latched on to her version of looping as the only looping powers he knows rather than his own superior version where he is in control.
"...Subaru." Emilia said as she latched on to her knight's arm. Her eyes gaining a look of anger if what the Great Spirit said was true.
"That damned witch!" Rem gained a furious look at hearing what Beatrice said. She was royally pissed off if the Witch of Envy really made her Hero lose his memories and his own looping ability and forced him to only use her Envy authority ,being a cheap knockoff of her hero's own ability.
"My hero...he could've saved me..." Rem said.
"He...could've had the ability to save Crusch-sama..." Felix said.
"If that Witch really did...damn her to hell." Julius cursed.
"Damn bro...that Witch really did ya dirty if she gave ya a cheap limiting knockoff of what you already had..." Al said, feeling bad for his bro's current looping powers compared to his past one.

So yeah, a small little snibbit of a WHAAA spin-off where the cast are watching Undertale as Subaru's cannon past. Did this cus I have been rereading that one fic of the cast reaction to Undertale over and over again and just thirted for more and the reactions to Subaru's first looping abilities in this combined universe.
Yeah, with Determination being past Subaru's abilities here...Return By Death starts looking like a cheap limiting knock-off here.
I wanted to do a full reaction fic here, but I do not have the energy nor the time to do that kind of fic. So did something else better that fit my time schedule, just do small snibbits that I've always wanted the cast reactions to of what I think would the full reaction fic would be like up till said moment
