The Saiyan Devil

Chapter 29

Walking down the rainy streets of a metropolis, with high-tech building structures that seemed to reach for the sky and hovering cars that defied gravity, the infamous assassin, Hit, could be seen indulging in a canned drink.

Hit was currently on this planet, cashing in his last assignment. In the process, he merely took down an upcoming warlord, saving this planet from being overrun by a tyrant. Of course, he didn't care what happened to this place, but he couldn't deny their soft drinks were delicious.

As he crushed the can and tossed it into a trash can, his hidden device rang, signaling a new job description. He had set up a hidden network, which set him apart from other no-name assassins. This hidden line could only be contacted if you went to certain establishments across the universe.

Payments could be sent via this network or in cash within these mysterious establishments. This only heightened Hit's mysterious allure. Of course, his missions were easier now that he was constantly improving his timeskip and martial arts.

However, he was aware of the drastic changes in the universe. New individuals were coming out of the shadows, showcasing strength and prowess beyond compare. This didn't worry Hit, as he knew he was fairly capable, but if the Tournament Of Power taught him anything, it was the fact that there were opponents he couldn't beat easily.

Not only that, but Celeon, someone Hit respected and could be considered a friend, continued improving his skills. Hit and Celeon kept in contact, reaching out whenever they could.

"Hmm," Hit raised his hand so the hologram could project.

"Hello, Hit, my name is Berry, and I come with a message from my boss. You're to seek out and fight against Hyoza, the leader of the North Quadrant's Hyoza Collective. When you fight him, you may tell him that the Saiyan King, Sadala, has sent you after him. I don't need to explain why I'm doing this, do I? Good, you have already been sent the payment. Good Hunting."

Hit blinked, his eyes narrowing, his murky purple eyes glowing with deep thought. This was an oddly specific request, and he had a good guess as to why his client was shifting the blame on the Saiyans. If he takes this mission, he knows the Hyoza Collective will attack the Saiyans with retribution.

"Am I hesitating?" Hit thought silently; his emotions, something he trained to erase his hesitation, began to flow to the surface.

"No matter, I will complete my job. Hyoza, huh? He's not going to be like anyone else."

Hit closed his hands and tucked his hands in his pockets. It was a good thing he was in the same sector as Hyoza.

"Time to make the donuts."

Hyoza was an interesting individual who belonged to the same race as Frost. His appearance was different from the rest. His face was round, with a huge purple gel-like head with a white-like carapace on the sides. He had two asymmetrical horns on the sides of his face, with the left being longer and more curved and the right being short with no curve.

He wore a full black outfit consisting of a long black cape that reached his knees, baggy black pants, a jacket, and black shoes with white accents. A purple tail could be seen swaying behind him as he stood atop a large cliff, overlooking the people below. Hyoza was a rather short alien, reaching 5' 2" in height. His arms were folded across his chest, and his blood-red eyes cast a calculative glare at the soldiers training on the vast landscape.

"Sir!"

Hyoza tilted his head slightly but did not look directly at the approaching soldiers. His small head tilt was his gesture for them to continue speaking.

"We've found a suitable planet for expanding our empire. The negotiations were a blooming success," one soldier, who wore the standard black and magenta military uniform, said with overwhelming enthusiasm.

Hyoza remained silent, but none of the soldiers grew tense from the silence that occurred, as this was a habit they'd grown accustomed to. Hyoza didn't waste time with his words, so he rarely spoke. Only when he gave orders would you hear his voice.

"Is that so?" Despite his size, Hyoza's voice was deep, but it held a tranquil calmness that belied the ferociousness in his eyes.

"Yes, Sir!"

"We can occupy the largest continent, allowing us to craft new airships and set up a large network."

Hyoza rubbed his chin. Expanding his reach was like the richest of apples—sweet and enticing. His red eyes glowed with anticipation of his future plans.

"Perfect. I would rather avoid pointless bloodshed. Start preparations tonight; I'll set off for the planet. Contact Jinya. He will continue operations here."

"As you command!"

A couple of hours passed, and Hyoza was preparing to depart. His plans began to bear fruit slowly, like a seed growing into a fresh tree. Patience was a virtue that most didn't possess in their entire lives.

Hyoza was different. He knew he was meant to be a leader from the moment he was born. His brother, Frost, was a meticulous planner, which perfectly hid his cowardice. Hyoza didn't care much about his plan to kill their father, as their race didn't care about each other, to begin with, at least on the surface. Their father was a bit different, and that difference molded Hyoza's character, with a few traits being created by Hyoza himself. A part of Hyoza still wishes to kill Frost, but he remains the only family member, causing a turbulent turmoil to storm inside his heart.

Under the beautiful night sky blanket, Hyoza walked towards his personal spaceship. His normally composed face had a small smirk. Although he couldn't have the entire planet, he had an entire continent to do as he pleased.

His plans weren't small. He indeed wished to become the sole ruler of the universe. Unfortunately, he settled for having an entire quadrant because he and his brother entered a non-aggression pact. However, there was no telling what was scheming in either of their minds.

"There's no telling when he'll burn the pact. I need to hurry and start the next phase of my plan."

As Hyoza neared his spaceship, its small, round visage shone under the starlight. Its shape resembled a train car, with thrusters on the sides for propulsion. Hyoza raised his hand and snapped his fingers, and the entrance on the side opened upwards.

However, instead of walking inside, he abruptly stopped; his tail swayed, and his red eyes blinked. He turned his head just enough for his eyes to look over his shoulders.

"I can feel your presence," Hyoza's low but steady voice called out into the starry sky.

A figure appeared out of thin air. A crystalline blue color shattered into existence, revealing the figure of…

"I see, the assassin comes to kill me?" Hyoza said with mirth, but his eyes told a different story.

"You're my target. However, I didn't want to kill you with your back turned to me."

Hyoza scoffed, turning his body to face the taller man standing a few meters away.

"This is quite the surprise, an assassin with honor? Or is this stupidity? You had your chance to finish me, yet you didn't."

"I have my reasons."

"Well, Hit, you will regret your stupidity," Hyoza replied, but a part of him wished to test his skills against a man who could utilize the power of time.

"However, I'm intrigued; show me your well-renowned Time-Skip."

Hit's opposing figure shifted, lifting his hands from the confines of his pockets. He prepared himself in his improved stance, which made his Time-Skip more dangerous than normal.

Both fighters stood silent. Their matching eyes were like two crimson moons trying to devour each other and in a split second…

Hit disappeared.

AN: This was meant to be uploaded a few days ago, but I got sidetracked (like always). However, we're here with a new chapter. This was meant to be about 2K words, but I scrapped the other seven hundred words as I felt ending the chapter on a cliffhanger was ideal for the situation. As you may have guessed, a lot will happen in the coming chapters. A friend and I have already completed the main characters for this arc in both lore and powers; you'll notice many similarities soon. I'll say this: Celeon won't be the primary focus, as I plan for Cabba and Caulifla this time. I hope SSJ4 Gogeta fans don't come and kill me lmao.

Also, I want to say thanks for the favorites and follows. We've reached the 100-mark threshold, which means a lot.

Anyway, the next chapter will be uploaded when Sparking Zero drops, so see you in about two weeks!
