In regards to the person asking to translate my story for your blog, I would like to talk about this a bit more. So, if you could review again leave an email address that would be lovely. Now on with a day in the life of Bella the time traveler.

Sneaky Vampire

Day 5

The next two days were about the same without the run in with that nasty Gideon McCaven. We worked in and around the house, while the men worked the field every day. Elizabeth stayed close to the house never straying far from myself or her mother.

Today was a bit different there wasn't as much work to be done today. We ended up going out to the field with James, Jasper and Jesse today to finish up early. Jasper worked close with me while Elizabeth and Mary Elizabeth worked together a few feet away. James and Jesse were a bit further away working with a couple slaves.

"I never did thank you, Isabella. For comforting Elizabeth. I can't imagine what it's like dealing with this. She's never really had another girl around besides our mother. It really means a lot to my family and I." he said. Kneeling next to me. I had been helping harvest the tobacco most of the morning.

"You don't have to thank me. It's, I don't know, I guess it something I do. I can't imagine someone not doing it." I paused for a second. "I mean, I would want someone to do the same for me." This was becoming increasingly difficult. It was hard enough to conceal my secret without having to explain why I do some of the things I do.

"Bella," I stayed the movement of my hands. I looked up at him; that was the first time he had called me Bella. "You mean a lot to my family. In the few days you've been here, you've captured the trust of Elizabeth. That isn't easy for anyone outside of our family to do. By doing that you earned the trust of my parents. Jesse liked you from the minute he met you. It's not just nothing."

"What about you?" I blurted out. I immediately regretted that. This was Alice's mate. I shouldn't be flirting with him.

"Me? Well, I've taken a liking to you in more than one way. I, uh, I" he laughed nervously. "I think you're very beautiful, Isabella." I had no idea how to respond. I looked down. What in the world just happened?

"You're too kind. I really don't know what to say. Thank you, Jasper." I said "You're quite dashing as well." I said. I felt a blush rising in my face. I found the courage to look back up at him. He was smiling.

"Y'all finish up now were just about done for the day." I heard James call.

"Are we gonna go get some food now?" Jesse was hungry. Rightfully so, it was gonna be a late lunch.

Jasper stood up and picked up the tobacco plants we had harvested. I finished up the plant I had started then picked up the plants and followed him over.

I laid the tools and plants in the cart and untied October.

Once I was mounted, I waited for the rest of the family had mounted their own horse. Pistol was tethered to the cart and Jasper was riding him. He spurred the horse into a walk and we began a journey back to the house.

Where did that come from? I wasn't supposed to like Jasper. I mean I had always thought of him as a brother. A very hot brother. No! Bad Bella! I had yet to figure out what had happened and why I was sent back to Jasper's human life. I was supposed to be sent to Edward.

It is tricky. You will remember everything and cannot give any of it away. You would not be simply observing. You would be living it. All you have to do is tell me in exact words what you want.

I told her exactly what I wanted, I think. What did I say?

Two weeks back in time with Edward. And that I wanted to learn everything I could. But that couldn't be right. She would have sent me back to Edward if I had said his name. I didn't say Jasper. Why can't I remember?

I want to go back in time,…

Two weeks before…

What did I say?

Two weeks before…

Before MY MATE was changed!

My mate! That's what I said. But that's not possible… my mate was Edward not Jasper. Wasn't he? Was Jasper my mate? I thought back to every time I've been around him. We was always a bit awkward around me. If I addressed him he seemed like he was hiding something or holding back. I think the most normal he had ever been around me was when I asked him about his background after he trained the packs to fight newborns.

Why would he act like that if he was my mate? There was no way he was my mate. I felt the pull with Edward. Why would I feel it with him if Jasper was my mate?

Jasper's gift was empathy and I remember Edward telling me that he could project. Was what Edward and I felt him projecting? Had I been with the wrong man? Had I put Jasper through unnecessary pain because I was too stupid to realize who my real mate was? Oh my God.

Jasper Whitlock was my mate. Oh my God. That was why Rosalie hated me! She and Jasper were so close and she knew! Jasper… this explains so much!

"Bella?" Elizabeth had ridden up next to me. "Are you alright? You haven't said anything the whole way here." She said. I then realized my surroundings. We were at the house already!

"I must've been lost in thought. I'm sorry, Beth." I said. Elizabeth and I were becoming close in just the five days I've been here. Most nights we stayed with each other and stayed up talking and giggling.

"Beth? Since when do you let anyone call you anything but Elizabeth?" Jasper said handing his horse and the cart off to the slave stable hand. We slid off our horses and started toward the stables.

"Since Bella and I became best friends." She said putting and arm around me I put both mine around her.

"Yeah Jasper," I chuckled. "We're very close" I said with a smile. We started walking again. Jasper took his mother's horse and followed behind us and his father and brother.

"Whatcha think about all of us goin' down to the creek and having a nice afternoon down there?" James asked aloud.

"Yeah! That sounds great, Papa." Jesse jumped up and down next to his horse.

"Your mama and I talked about it already and she's inside getting snacks and blankets. So let's get Jasper a horse and go pack them up." He said.

"We won't have to get another horse out. Jasper and I can ride double." I looked and him to make sure he was okay with this.

"Yeah, Papa, we don't need to waste any daylight on an extra horse."

"Well, let's go get changed and help your mama. You girls go on, we'll get the horses tied and packed." James told us I handed we handed the horses off then ran up to the house. We entered the house and I stopped in the kitchen.

"Beth, I don't know if I have any swimmin' clothes." I said pressing my hands to my head. Minnie walked in carrying a package. She handed it to her mother and turned to me.

"Oh course you do. I put it in your drawer. I'll fetch it for you." She said. I followed Beth up to her room and we talked while she changed.

"There's this little place out behind Jasper's place and it's perfect for swimmin'. The creek doesn't run too strong there and it gets about neck deep on Jasper. So I can't reach the bottom in the deepest part." She said and came out wearing a onesie type thing. It was a combination of a sleeveless shirt and long summer pants. "And there's a big tree that's perfect for shade but there's also plenty of places for sunshine." She pulled on the over jacket and it looked like dress coat at first.

"It sounds like so much fun." I said. There was a knock at the door.

"Come in." Elizabeth said, taking her hair out of the braid it was in.

"Miss Isabella, your I laid your swimmin' costume on the bed." She said.

"Thanks, Minnie." I said then stood up.

"I'll see you outside." I said and hurried off.

I unfolded the suit and a note fell out.

Put all of it on and take the coat off in the water, have fun Love!

Sneaky vampire. She knew this would happen. I followed her instructions and then took the braid out of my hair as well. Instead of leaving it down, I pulled it up into a pony tail.

I ran back down the stairs and help Mary Elizabeth carry things out to the horses to be packed into the saddle. We had just finished tying the towels down when the boys came out wearing their suits they matched ours. The only difference was they had shorts and the straps were thinner.

"Are we ready to go?" James asked.

"We're all set." Mary Elizabeth said. She climbed onto the horse and got herself settled.

Beth came out and handed me a sun hat. I put it on and posed.

"Well, don't I look lovely?" I asked, making a goofy face at her. She giggled and untied her horse. I held the reins while she climbed on. Jasper had mounted October again and was waiting for me. I handed Beth the reins and waltzed over to him. He offered me his arm and I took it. I pulled myself up and into place. When we were settled James and Mary Elizabeth started toward the creek. Jesse and Beth followed and Jasper and I brought up the rear close behind.

"So you really think I'm dashing?" he said. I could hear the smirk in his voice. I tried to see his face but he was looking away. I let my arms settle around his waist and my cheek made contact with his back.

"Maybe. Do you really think I'm beautiful?" I asked. He let one hand settle on top of my arms.

"I believe I do, Miss Isabella." He chuckled, "It would make me very happy to court you."

"You are rather handsome." I said, trying to sound as if it was a hard decision to let my mate court me. My mate. Now that was weird to think about. "I think that might be alright with me." I peeked over his shoulder and waited for his reaction.

"Just might?" he asked looking down at me. I tried to hide my smile in his shoulder. "Don't hide your smile. I like seeing it." It took us about thirty minutes to get to the creek and when got there we set out the blankets and had a delicious light lunch. Soon after, Jesse and Beth were in creek swimming and playing. I sat under the tree and enjoyed the heat of the day.

"Jasper are you sure we can't talk you out of joining the Confederate Army?" Mary Elizabeth asked. I pulled my knees up to my chest and pretended to be watching Beth and Jesse, completely oblivious.

"Mama, I feel like it's the right thing to do."

"We just don't want to lose you. That's all." James explained.

"You won't. I have too much to come back to. I have someone to come back for now." it was quiet for a moment. "She agreed to let me court her today." He whispered. "I'm enlisting the next time I go into town. I don't plan to lose this." Jesse came running toward us he grabbed Jasper by the hand. Jasper let himself be pulled out to the water laughing and splashing with his siblings. I smiled watching them.

"She loves our boy already." Mary Elizabeth said. I looked over at her.

"I think you might be right. It doesn't seem normal to have these feelings so fast." I said looking back out at him. He caught my eye and smiled right before being tacked again by his brother. They went under for a second then, Jesse came flying out of the water and Jasper came up. He pushed his hair back out of his face and wiped the water from his eyes.

"Come on, Isabella, the water is perfect." He held and outstretched hand to me, beckoning me in.

I stood and took the coat off and pulled my hair out of the pony tail. I laid them both on the blanket and walked to the edge of the water. Jasper walked up and met me on the bank. I took a step into the water. It was nice. He smiled at me deviously. He was planning something. The second I realized it, I tried to get away and scooped me up and threw me over his shoulder.

"Jaaaassssper!" I squealed. "No, put me down!" I giggled.

"As you wish, fair lady." He said and he threw me into the water. I came up and smoothed my long hair back.

"I didn't mean like that." I smiled, breathlessly. We played in the creek for a little longer. Jesse and Elizabeth got out to get some snacks but Jasper and I stayed in.

I was treading water in the deeper part of the creek. Jasper swam too me, he took my right hand with his and pulled it around his neck and pulled me on to his back.

"So Miss Isabella, if I am to court you I suppose I should get to know you and ask you on a date, shouldn't I?" he said.

I wrapped my arms around his neck and shoulders.

"I guess, you know, I don't really know how this works." I admitted. He swam lazily.

"Well, would you agree to a date in town on Saturday? We can get all dressed up and go to a lovely lunch. We can make a regular day of it. I'll have to teach you to ride side saddle today. But, that's easy. And we have a couple of side saddles." He paused and looked back at me. "What do you think?"

"Tomorrow's Friday, will that be enough time to prepare?" I asked him. He smiled and nodded.

"Of course!" he laughed turning underneath me and grabbing my waist. He spun me around in the water and picked me up to where everything but my feet were out of the water. I braced myself on his shoulders, then he threw me again. That man, the turd, was making me fall farther every second.

When I resurfaced again, I lunged at him. We collided and I clung to him so I wouldn't go under again. I pushed my hair out of my face and I looked up at him. I smiled and looked down.

"I'm never gonna get you under am I?" I asked.

"No, probably not. So tell me little lady, I wanna know everything you remember." He said. I detached myself from him and pondered for a second.

What could I tell him that would keep my secret safe?

"You know my name and that I'm eighteen. Hmmm," I thought, this was hard. "My favorite color changes from day to day. So it's always different. I'm really not one for dressing up but I do it when it's necessary. I can't really think of anything else. Oh! I don't know this for sure but, I think I'd really love music."

"Music, huh? What's the color of today?" he asked.

"Brown, like your eyes. In fact, the exact color of your eyes." I said, studying the color of his eyes. They were perfect in every way. They had flecks of blue sparsely scattered in them.

"I'll have to remember that one. What was yesterday's color?" he asked. "Pink?" I made a face at him. "No pink?" he asked astonished.

"The only time I will ever like that color is when it's in the sky mixing with orange and blue at sunrise and sunset. Yesterday was lavender. Most days it ranges between dark and light purple."

"Isabella Marie, you are a mystery that I have to crack. I've been thinking about this for a couple of days and it might seem a little fast but, I'm enlisting in the Confederate Army on Saturday while we are in town. I'd like to be able to tell them I'm married or engaged. I've never felt this way about anyone in my entire life. Especially in this short amount of time. But would you do me the great honor of becoming my life long partner and wife? It's scary and crazy but, I might not come back and on the off chance that I don't I want to live my last minutes knowing I was yours and you were only mine." He said.

He's damn right this was fast and scary and crazy. But I couldn't think of a better way spend the rest of the time I have here.

"Jasper." I whispered. His face was torn between happiness and fear. "I feel the same way. I can't think of anything better than being your wife."

"Really?" he sounded relieved.

"Really." I confirmed. He picked me up and twirled me again. I giggled and squealed as he swung me around. He pulled me close to him and put his forehead against mine. "I love you."

"I love you more, My Isabella."
