Explain

August 29, 2005

First thing this morning I went to the office and had my classes changed around I have almost all senior classes now. I spoke to Mrs. Wentzle and thanked her for being so willing to help me. I'm sitting in my fourth class of the day. English. I had to add a zero hour to make sure I got all of my classes in so I start at 7am instead of 8am. So far I had Astronomy with Alice, College Algebra and Spanish II with Emmett and English with Rosalie and Jasper. Lunch is next with all of the Cullens. After lunch I have government, advanced history and gym. After the Jeremiah's born I've got permission to go the marriage and family class until I'm able to participate. Things are alright, except in all of my classes the Cullens have been watching me. As I write, Rosalie is staring at me. Jasper kicked her earlier. She only stopped for a few minutes. The chairs in this class are in a circle so it's not hard for them to watch me without being noticed. Mr. Berty likes to be the center of attention in class.

The bell rang and I picked up my backpack and put my notebook in it. I pushed myself up and out of the chair I was in I reached for my backpack and it was gone. I looked up and saw Jasper standing there holding.

"Can I walk you to lunch?" he asked. Rosalie was waiting behind him.

"Uh, sure." I looked down and smiled. A blush rose to my cheeks. I waddled to the door and with Jasper and Rosalie behind me. Emmett was waiting by the door when I walked through. I turned and waited for Jasper. Rose and Emmett joined hands and he took her bag.

"I, really can't thank you enough for saving my life. Our lives." I said, trying to break the silence.

"That's our Jasper. The hero." Emmett teased him.

"It really was nothing. How are you feeling?" he asked changing the subject.

"All concussion symptoms are gone." I said, as we exited the building.

"Good." We were silent until we walked into the cafeteria. There was a buzz going through the cafeteria, no doubt about me walking in with the Cullens. Rosalie and Emmett went to their normal table and met up with Edward and Alice. Walked me to my normal table and set my bag down.

"So, uh, listen. My Dad wanted to make sure you had his card and emergency and personal numbers if you need anything." he handed me a card. "I wrote my number on the back too." he added. I turned it over and looked back at him.

"Thanks Jasper."

"You're welcome," he pause for a half a second. "Isabella Marie." He half smiled and turned to join his family. My face was a mixture of shock and confusion. His family was chuckling when he go there. Jasper sat on the other side of Edward.

Jessica popped up on my side, making me jump a little bit. "Did you just walk in with Jasper Hale? And where were you in class today?" she asked.

"Yes, and I had my schedule changed. I'm graduating early; I had all the credits for the classes I was already in. So I had the school move me into classes I hadn't taken yet." I said, while we walked to get our lunch.

"So what was that all about?" she asked.

"He was just making sure I was alright. His dad had him give me his business card." I told her.

"Why?"

"His dad is my OB-GYN." I replied and picked up a sandwich and some water.

"Oh I bet that got awkward really fast." she said.

"Why do you say that?" I asked.

"Well, the good doctor is hot for one, but it's obvious how much you like Jasper and he likes you back. I mean he's not even sitting next to Alice anymore." She said.

"I don't guess I ever thought about it like that." I said.

"Bella, you're so oblivious."

The rest of the day went by slowly. I had advanced history with Jasper and Rosalie again. I had government with Jasper and Gym with all of the Cullens.

I changed with the other girls I got a few curious glances when my belly was exposed I was lucky to only have a few very lightly colored stretch marks. I wore sweatpants over my gym shorts and a t shirt that was a size too big.

Alice and Rosalie looked like professional athletes with make up on. They stood in the back like me only playing when the ball came near them. Edward, Jasper and Emmett played one on one. Jasper and I watched each other when he wasn't playing. I got so distracted that Alice had to save the ball when it came near me. When the period was over I went and changed quickly. I headed out to my truck and was in the process of unlocking it when someone walked up behind me.

"Hello again beautiful girl." I dropped my keys and whirled around.

"Lieselotte!" I threw my arms around her neck. She picked me up and spun me around. When she set me down, she picked up my keys and handed them to me.

"Would you look at you? You're absolutely gorgeous! How was your trip?" she asked.

"It was amazing, I have so much to tell you. There's so much going on." I gushed.

"Well tell me before you explode with excitement." She said.

"Someone might hear."

"Oh please, no one is paying attention. Aside from your Cullen's they're a little on edge about a new vampire being in town, especially one like me." She slid her sunglasses down her nose and winked at me then pushed them back up. "They're trying to decide what to do about me."

"I've been writing in my journal like you said. I even drew the house and different rooms." I paused. "I'm due soon."

"I know dear. That's part of why I'm here. I'm gonna help you figure out how to explain things to them. I might even stay long enough to do it with you. I will tell you," she paused. "He knows something is up."

"They all probably do now that you're here." I said. "Come on. It's my dad's late night at the station. We can talk at my house."

A few hours later I had told Lotte everything that had happened in 1863.

"Tell me has happened since you came back to almost present day." she said.

"Almost?"

"We'll I didn't put you back on you wedding day. Present day will be when that day comes."

"So I have to wait until August 13th next year to feel my own age again?" I asked.

"Well you'll never really feel your own age again but I pulled a couple string so your body is the correct age. You're seventeen right now." she said. "Now what's happened with the Cullens since you got here?"

"Edward went off on his tangent and I was almost hit by a van again but this time Jasper saved me. We talked a little after that I told him about Jeremiah. He called me Isabella Marie today. I don't know if she remembered that or if he found out some either way. He gave me his phone number today too. That's about it."

"So how were you thinking of telling Jasper about him? Or the Cullens even?" she asked.

"I really don't know. I think it would be easier to tell Jasper first. Ya know? Get him to trust me first." I told her. But from there, I'm pretty lost." I said.

"That's good. You'll have to just be straight with him. He's a military man. Clear cut and straight forward is something he knows." She told me.

"While that's true something I learned about Jasper is that he is a military man. All uniformity and order. He's very disciplined. But when it comes to his heart," I paused remembering Jasper's drive. "He's driven. He's all or nothing. When it concerns someone he loves, he lets his heart lead him and he doesn't let anything change his mind once it's made up."

"That's even better. That means that he'll do whatever it takes to make you safe and keep you. Both of you. All you have to do is make him understand." She said.

"I know but that's the hard part. For all he knows I could be some historical stalker." I said.

"You have to try." She said. "If it helps I'll be nearby to help. I didn't start this just to let you flounder at the very end."

"I know. I'm just scared I guess. What if he doesn't want us?"

"Isabella, Jasper is a smart man. He wanted to marry you after a week of knowing you. He's your mate, he will want you. All of you. Both of you." she reassured me.

After school the next day I drove to the library where I was meeting Jasper. Lotte was going to be there listening from afar. When I arrived, I picked a place hidden away from the general public.

I pulled my new class's work and books out. Jasper wasn't supposed to be here for another fifteen minutes or so. I began work on some homework while I waited.

"Ready?" Lotte peeked around the corner.

"I think so." I said. "A little nervous."

"You'll be fine. I'm here if you start to struggle too much. I'm gonna go. He just pulled in."

"Okay." I whispered. She left me to my homework. A few minutes later Jasper came in; I was very aware of his presence, but I never looked up.

"Hello Bella." He said.

"Jasper." I smiled. "Thanks for helping me out."

"No problem. I'm happy to help." He said I could tell he was on edge. His face stayed blank.

"What do you want to start with?" he asked, sitting across from me.

"History?" I asked.

"Perfect." He said. "History is my favorite subject."

"I guess it's good that I need your help then." I said. No matter how much I tried to get him to warm up to me he wouldn't budge. After he had given me the run down on what I had missed and I had finished the assignments I closed the book and put it aside.

"Jasper," he looked up from the Government homework we had been assigned today. "Are you okay? You seem, I don't know, distracted maybe."

"Actually, I was wondering who that woman was you were talking to yesterday after school." He said.

I opened my government book.

"Oh that's an old friend of mine. I hadn't seen her in a long time so I was a little shocked to see her." I told him.

"How much do you know about her?" he asked.

"Oh as much as you know about any old friend I guess. I'm sure something has changed since I saw her last. Her hair isn't black anymore." I said. He nodded.

"Alright." He said looking back to his homework.

"Actually I know quite a bit about her." I said. His pencil stopped moving but he never looked up. I saw his eyes moving. "And her extended family." I tried to get him to look at me.

"Are they nice?" he asked carefully.

"Well I haven't met them. Just Lieselotte." I said. "I've heard some of them are pretty nice. But most of them she told me to steer clear of." He stayed quiet after that.

"Jasper. I know about you and your family." he looked up suddenly. "Before you freak out, I'm not going to say anything to anyone."

"Then why did tell me you knew?" He asked. He didn't look like my Jasper anymore.

"Jasper please just listen. And calm down. I had to tell you I knew so I could explain." I said. He stood up knocking his chair over. I stood up too.

"Explain what?" he said advancing on me, backing me into a corner.

"You know me. You aren't sure how. You know who I am and the only way you can place me makes absolutely no sense at all." I said. I was beginning to stutter. "L-Liesolotte has a gift. She offered it to me as a wedding gift. I accepted."

"Explain faster." He said, he was leaning over me but not touching me.

"She sent me back in time to meet my mate." I whispered, hurriedly. "She knew the man I was about to marry wasn't my mate and that my mate wouldn't intrude because he wanted my happiness. I was happy yes, but only because I didn't know what it was like to be with him." It was all rushing out of me so fast I didn't have time to think about what I was saying.

"She sent me to Texas in 1863. To you. Jasper you're my mate. I'm the woman you married in 1863." He was growling. I grabbed his hand and put it to my stomach. "This child. This impossible child, he's your impossible child. The day Maria changed you was the day Lotte sent me back to my time. To now, except seven months ago." I was beginning to cry. "You've saved my life more than once. You risked your life for me when Gideon McCaven tried to kill me. You saved me from drowning when he pushed me over the edge of the cliff. My best friend was your little sister, Elizabeth. She stood with me at our wedding. I left our puppy, Piper with her when we left on our wedding night. The night we made this beautiful thing."

I put his other hand on my belly too. "Please believe me, Jasper. I love you more than anything. My heart leaps every time I see you. You saved me this time. Not Edward." He hadn't looked up from where his hands were placed.

"Say I do believe you, Why would ever let Edward have you? Why would I walk away from the one thing in this miserable life that is supposed to make it worth living?" he asked.

"Because you loved her and because by the time you realized what she really meant to you it was too late. Edward had his hold on her and she didn't feel it like you could. Bella wouldn't have felt it until after she had been changed. She was happy and that's what you wanted for her and what Alice wanted for Edward." Lotte had walked into our enclosure. Jasper didn't move.

"I take it you're Lieselotte." He said.

"You're correct." She sat down. "When I sent her back I told her she would have three things when she returned. A gift." She took out my Journal. "You see her writing in it a lot. A Promise." She paused. I pulled the necklace from underneath my shirt that held my ring.

"You told me that this was a promise that you would always come back to me. That you would love me no matter how badly injured or different you were when you came back." I said.

"And a legacy." Lotte finished.

"My legacy." He whispered, never looking away from his hands. I put a hand to his cheek and he looked up, making eye contact with me.

"Jazz, its me." my whisper broke.

"Isabella?" he asked. "My wife, my Isabella?" he cupped my face with both his hands and wiped the tears from my face.

"Yes." I said. He kissed me softly on the lips.

"Lord above, you're as beautiful as the day I met you." he said. He turned to Lieselotte. "Thank you from giving her back to me." He sat down and pulled me into his lap. "How…" he started. "How does it work? How much does she know? How far in the future did you send her from?"

"I don't know for sure how. Ask and if I want it to happen it happens. She know quite a bit and I sent her back from August 13th, 2006." She answered.

Jasper looked at me and down at the child growing within me. His phone buzzed on the table in front of us. Captain showed up on the caller ID.

"There's just one thing that I have to do before I let this go to my head." he said. He answered.

"Captain. Where are you?" I didn't hear a reply.

"Be at the library in town as soon as possible." He paused. "Oh and Peter, wear sunglasses."

"Peter? Your brother?" I asked.

"For all intents and purposes, yes. He has a gift, too. I'd trust him without his gift but his gift makes it a hundred percent easier to trust him." he said. "He'll give me all the reassurance I could ever need in serious situations."

"Oh." I said, I hadn't completely convinced him.

"Although I think I may have let my heart run free before I should have. Because no matter what Peter tells me. I'm infatuated with you Isabella." he said.

"I'm just a little infatuated with you too." I said, winking at him.

Jasper helped me get caught up with my government homework while we waited for Peter to arrive. Lotte waited with us. Every time I peeked up at her she was watching us carefully.

"Okay, I need to sit in a chair. My back is killing me. We'll try the whole lap sitting thing after Jeremiah is born." I said. Jasper helped push me into a standing position. "Thanks."

"It's alright. I understand. It can't be comfortable to sit on something similar to stone." He said.

"Well, it's not like plastic is much better now is it, Major?" a handsome man said as he entered the little nook we had been in. His posture was impeccable. Even for a vampire. He stood very strong and tall. Like Jasper when he came home after leaving the first time. I hadn't sat down again so I stayed standing. A beautiful woman walked in behind him and said nothing. She was small and pixie-like similar to Alice but not as stereotypically pretty. She was more of a homey beautiful. A comfortable and welcoming beautiful not intimidating. "Brother." He half-heartedly gave Jasper a two-fingered salute.

"Peter, Char, this is Lieselotte, she's a nomad." Peter and Charlotte shook Lieselotte's hand.

"That must mean that you are the girl Cause all of the commotion in my brother's life." He said and stuck his hand out to me. I took it cautiously. "It's nice to meet you Bella."

"Uh, er. Yeah, you too." I said. Jasper put a hand on the small of my back.

"What did you need me here for?" he asked. Jasper sat down again everyone but Charlotte followed suit. She stayed standing behind Peter.

"I am utterly lost to this girl. But I have to know what's true and what's not." Jasper said. "The entire situation has made even my own hyper speed mind grind to a halt. You don't have to know what it is because I'm becoming too impatient to explain it."

"If you're so lost to her and she's captured the wild heart of the mighty Major, why does it matter?" he asked.

"Because the sanity of my own damned eternity depends on it. I'll never be able to let this go. It will nag at me until I snap. I don't want to ever find out what will happen if I snap. If he snaps." Jasper said. Peter's face showed that he knew what Jasper was talking about. I was lost, I decided to ask about it later.

"Is everything Lieselotte and Bella told me the truth?" he asked.

"Yes. With one exception." Peter said.

The tension in the air was horrible. I racked my brain looking for anything that might have been a lie. I was coming up empty and I saw Jasper go visibly ridged.

"What exception?" he asked carefully.

"Bella doesn't actually need your help getting caught up. She's very intelligent and could have done just fine without your help. It was an excuse to talk to you." Peter said.

I collapsed back into my seat and Jasper let out a breath no one knew he was holding. Charlotte hit the back of Peter's head with a book.

"It's nice to finally meet you Isabella. Welcome to our family." Char said, hugging me. "Jasper had better tell us when our nephew will be here." she said pointedly to Jasper.

"He should be here on or around October 2nd." I told her.

"We'll stay close." she said.

"Bella you took the short way around to find him again. He's been waiting a long, long time. Don't hurt him." he said. "Welcome home."

I had never felt more at home than with Jasper next to me.

September 2, 2005

Jasper and I went public without actually going public Wednesday. I was going to the Cullen house tonight to officially meet the family. Jasper already told his family what had happened in our little relationship and family. I was just there to be the shiny new toy for a while. Probably until Jeremiah is born. For now, Jasper had walked me to all of my classes and picked me up for school with Emmett in his Jeep every day this week. Alice and Rose took the BMW and Edward drove his Volvo like always. Jasper told me last night he couldn't wait to get me on his Ducati. It'll be a while for sure. It's a month from my due date and I couldn't be happier. Jasper and his family bought clothes and toys and supplies for Jeremiah and I. I brought it home a little at a time to keep Charlie from questioning it. He was just getting used to the fact that Jasper and I were an Item. I wore my wedding ring at the Cullen home and at night when Jasper laid with me while I slept. It felt good and I couldn't wait to make it official in 2006. I wanted to be Mrs. Whitlock to everyone and I wanted Jeremiah to have the correct last name.

Sitting here in Spanish with Emmett was beginning to enjoy Emmett's company. Things were falling into place. Becoming part of this family was so much easier the second time around. I was fitting in perfectly this time and things were starting to make a lot more sense. Tonight was the night I answer all the questions about this alternate world I came from. I hope tonight goes well.

I was sitting behind Emmett and a note folded up into a paper football came flying over his shoulder. On it written read me. I opened the paper and read what Emmett had written.

I can smell your nervousness from a mile away. Take a deep breath, you'll send Jasper into a panic. Besides… your nerves smell weird.

I kicked the back of his chair and wrote back.

Eat me.

I folded it up and tossed it back before I realized what I had said. I saw his shoulder's shake with a chuckle and soon enough I had a reply on my desk.

Now, now, Sweet Bella. This isn't Alice in Wonderland. Besides I don't think Jasper would ever forgive me. ;)

I snorted a little and immediately focused on the work in front of me to avoid the attention of Mrs. Goff. I could just see Emmett smirking in front of me. The bell rang and Emmett picked up my bag and books.

"Come on Bella. If you're gonna be one of us you gotta learn to roll with the punches." he smiled.

"Give me time. I'll get there." I said and followed him out of the classroom where Jasper was waiting to take my bag from Emmett. We met Rosalie on our way to English and Emmett broke off from the pack half way there.

Jasper sat my bag next to my chair and waited for me to get seated. I handed him my makeup assignments.

"Turn these in for me?" I asked.

"Sure. You know Emmett's right. Your nerves are going to get the best of you." he winked at me and left.

"Yeah, well it's not exactly a day at the spa explaining this all again. There's a lot that I still can't talk about. It's stressful." I said under my breath. His head snapped up at my mention of stress. I felt him trying to make me relax. "Stop that." I whispered. He raised an eyebrow and Rosalie tried to hide a chuckle next to him.

Mr. Berty started class and I took notes like a good student. Every now and again I would looked up to find Jasper had glanced up at me too. Normally he would smile shyly, like he wasn't my husband. It was going to be a pretty big adjustment for everyone involved but Jasper, the empath, was handling this like a bipolar teenage girl.

Sometimes he would be perfectly fine and treat me like he did when we were in 1863. Then other times he was shy and behaved like I was his elementary school crush. It was cute but I wanted to know why he acted this way.

I caught his glance again and stuck my tongue out at him. He raised a challenging eyebrow at me and sat back in his seat and folded his arms across his hard chest. Rose looked up at him from her notes and followed his gaze to me. She rolled her eyes and went back to her notebook.

I picked my binder up off my desk and hid behind it. I peeked at him over the top of it. He was smiling at me and had the familiar bright light in his eyes I remember from when he was human.

I laid my notebook down again and continued my notes.

"Miss Swan, I'd like to see you after class." Mr. Berty stopped in front on my desk and whispered to me. I looked up in surprise and nodded at him.

I looked at Jasper and Rose, who were both pretending to be taking notes, although they were monitoring what was said at my desk. When Mr. Berty wasn't looking Jasper sent me a questioning look. I shrugged at him and wrote down the assignment for tomorrow.

The bell rang soon after and everyone started to get up and leave. I stood up and packed my backpack back up. Jasper came to my desk.

"Do you want me to wait?" he asked, picking up my bag.

I looked between him, Mr. Berty, and Rose and Emmett waiting at the door. I put my hand on my bag.

"No, you go ahead. I've got this." I said. He helped me put my backpack on and then turned to the door. I walked over to Mr. Berty's desk.

"Uh, Sure." I said. "I'll meet you guys there." I turned to face my teacher.

"You wanted to see me?" I asked.

"Yeah, I wanted to make sure you weren't having any trouble with the makeup work I gave you." he explained.

"Oh no, I turned it in first thing when I got to class. They should be at the bottom of your basket." I said.

"Good, Good." He said thoughtfully. "Listen, I know you've got this thing worked out with the school for when you go into labor. I don't want too much excitement when you comeback so I'm trying to move everyone around before that happens. What I need to know is what seat will be easiest for you to use. You know with a car seat, diaper bag, and book bag."

"Oh. That's an easy fix. Actually I'm leaving the car seat in Mrs. Wentzle's classroom and I'll have Jeremiah in a sling when I have him here with me. I can sit in the desks with him on my chest. My back pack is my diaper bag so I'll put the extra pockets to use when the time comes. A chair on either side of the door will be fine for me." I said.

"Really?" he asked almost in disbelief. "Well, I guess that makes things easier on me."

"I try. I know it's a strain on the school to ask this." I said.

"Well that's all I needed." He waved me off. "Enjoy your lunch."

"Thanks. You too." I said and left.

That was odd.

When I walked into the cafeteria, I looked over and found Jasper waiting for me. A small grin spread on my face.

"Bella!" Jessica and Angela walked up behind me and ushered me into the lunch line.

"Mr. Mason assigned this essay today, it's going to take me forever to finish it." Jess complained.

"It's not that bad. Jessica just want to complain." Angela said. "How are your senior classes going? Are they totally hard?" she asked.

"I do not 'just want to complain'." She said. "English is just stupidly time consuming for me."

I paid for my lunch and waited for them to pay.

"My classes are going pretty well. I finished the last of my makeup work last night. And they're not hard really, just something I haven't learned yet." I said.

I walked with them on my way to sit with Jasper.

"Aren't you afraid you'll fall behind when you have Jeremiah?" she asked.

"Not really, I'm pretty good about studying and even then the school isn't going to let me stay out for more than a few weeks." I said.

"Really? Isn't maternity leave normally like six weeks?" Jess asked, sitting down.

"Six to eight normally. What happened with the school?" Angela asked.

"Mr. Greene wants me back in school as soon as I can lift more than his weight." I said.

"Aren't you gonna sit?" she asked.

"I, uh, I kind of promised the Cullen's I'd sit with them today." I said.

"Cullens?" Mike said, he wasn't hiding his disappointment very well.

"Oh. Well, we'll see you later, I guess?" Jessica said. "Right guys?"

"Of course." I said. A chorus of agreement hastily followed and I waved with my finger and walked over to the Cullens. I sat my tray down and Jasper took my backpack.

"Hello Isabella." He said.

"Hi Bella!" Alice practically sang.

"Hi." I smiled.

"If you knew what those kids were thinking when you told them you were sitting with us." Edward said, he didn't have to finish. I had an idea. He laughed.

"So Emmett was telling us about a note he received in Spanish class today." Jasper said. I let my head drop, trying to hide my blush. "You can't hide blushes from us."

"I can try." I said.

"You have a particular preference for English Literature circa 1865?" Rosalie asked.

"If this is Wonderland, I need to change my name." Alice commented. They all chuckled, I looked up and smiled.

"Picking on pregnant women is frowned upon guys. Come on." I said.

"If it were anyone else's child, I might feel bad." Emmett said.

"He's right we've all got highly advanced minds and I don't think any one of us can wrap our heads around it. It just doesn't make much sense." Edward said. "How are you pregnant with Jasper's human child?" he asked.

"Edward." Jasper said. "Not here."

"I'll answer all of your questions later tonight." I said, taking a bite of my pizza.

September 13, 2005

Happy 18th birthday to me. Jasper's family is having a party for me on Friday. It'll be the one where someone attacks me, yay… The interrogation with the Cullens was a week and a half ago and every now and again I'll get a text message from one of them with a question. Carlisle was the easiest to talk to about it. He's met Leiselotte before and seen what she could do. Esme was excited to have a baby coming to the family and Rosalie was too, she just wouldn't show it. Just like last time she was going to take a while to warm up. Jasper had already given me a beautiful necklace for my birthday but he said I would get the rest of it at the party. It was one of those mother child necklaces. I told him he didn't have to get me anything and I made him promise to keep my birthday to a down low.

Getting so close to the due date had me feeling nostalgic. I was goofing around and doodling when I should have been working on my algebra assignment. I thought about where I was now and what had transpired between the time t had moved to Forks and met the Cullens and now. In both universes. By the time I had turned eighteen I had met more vampires than just the Cullen's.

James had been killed because of me. I looked down at the scar James had given me. I had only just noticed I still had it and it made me wonder if I would ever see him again. James and Victoria had been good to me in my new past. They had cared for me. They killed Gideon because he hurt me. Maybe I'll look him up when it's safe for me to be around a human eater.

I stood towards the back in Gym like I do every day. Jeremiah kicked me hard and knocked the wind out of me. It was normal for him to that lately. It wasn't hard to deal with I just had to catch my breath.

I bent at the waist and let my hand rest on my diaphragm.

"Swan!" Coach Clapp shouted, "You alright?"

I flashed him a thumbs up and without looking up. I felt a cool hand on the back of my neck. I looked up to see Alice.

"You alright?" she asked me again.

"He kicked really hard, knocked the breath out of me." I said between gasps.

"Come on. Let's get you to a seat." She said. I nodded at let her lead me to the bleachers. I caught sight of Jasper on the way and he was watching me intently. I flashed him a smile and a thumbs up then sat down.

"I'll be fine." I said, not for her sake but for Jasper's.

"When you catch your breath come back out, Coach Clapp doesn't look too happy." she said, I nodded again.

I sat there until I could breathe evenly. I put my hands on either side of me and pushed myself up.

It was warm. I don't know what I expected different. I gasped.

"Oh god."

Every vampire head turned toward me.

"My water just broke."
