A week had passed since the goblin attack, and everything was slowly getting back to normal. However, during the attack, Horizon Labs was destroyed, leaving a number of people out of work. Peter quickly jumped in and hired all the staff.
Norman had also destroyed Otto's new company; now that he had disappeared, it was up for grabs. Max convinced Peter to buy the place, much to the annoyance of Otto's business partner, Sajani Jaffrey.
Liz also discovered that one of her employees, Tiberius Stone, had been the one who fiddled with the Spider-Slayers, making it easy for Norman to take control. He also began talks in the North to the highest bidder. Naturally, he was fired because of this.
However, Peter was possibly the happiest man in the world when he discovered his wife was pregnant. It also didn't take long for the entire world to discover, and they had been receiving quite a few congratulations.
MJ was now currently in prenatal classes, and Aunt May had agreed to look after the girls, thinking that Peter still needed some time to himself after merging from his coma. Gwen was now visiting him, and the two of them were having a nice cup of coffee.
"I hear that Parker Industries is really expanding," said Gwen.
Peter nodded. "We got some good press for curing that goblin infection, though I've made it clear that it was all thanks to Harry."
"I also hear that you hired Anna Marie," said Gwen.
"We would have done it sooner if Otto hadn't hijacked my brain," Peter sighed. "She is brilliant; in fact, I've made her our head researcher."
"So you haven't said anything about Otto to her?" Gwen asked.
"How can I break it to someone that her boyfriend turned out to be Doctor Octopus, who was also the Superior Spider-Man."
"He was nowhere near superior, let's be clear," said Gwen.
"Fair enough, but I am finding it difficult now to juggle running a corporation, being Spider-Man and being a father."
"We're all here to support you, Peter; you're not doing this alone."
"Thanks, Gwen. Well, here's hoping is more predictable."
However, he soon regretted saying those words as his spider-sense began to tingle. One look from Gwen indicated that the same thing happened to her, and the next moment, breaking into the apartment, there were several armed men.
"Parker acquired!"
"What about the girl?"
"We can't have any witnesses; bring her along as well."
"What's going on!" Peter demanded.
"Who are you?"
They didn't answer as they cuffed the two of them and put a bag over their heads. They then attached the line and lifted them up into the air by helicopter. Peter did not know what was happening but did not intend to go with them.
He broke free from the cuffs and fell to the ground using his super strength. You moved the bag and saw that Gwen had done the same; then, with some carefully placed agility, they managed to land safely on the ground, though they had to make the landing a little rough.
The armoured man immediately began chasing after them, but suddenly, a car was skidding right in front of them. The passenger door opened, and the young woman with brown hair tied in a ponytail sat at the wheel.
"Get in," he said.
Peter looked at Gwen, who nodded.
They quickly jumped into the car, and the strange woman immediately drove off, getting hard on the accelerator.
"Thanks for the save, but who are you?" Peter asked.
"This might be difficult for you to believe, but my name is Teresa, and I'm your younger sister," she said.
Peter and Gwen immediately look at one another and at the woman claiming to be Peter's sister.
"Mind running that by us again?" Peter asked.
"Look, I know it's difficult to believe, but it's the truth," she said. "When our parents went on the last mission, neither of them realised that our mother was pregnant. By the time they were already on their mission. When I was born, they put me in an orphanage, hoping to come back to me once the mission was over."
"But of course, their identities were discovered, and they were killed," said Peter.
"So you believe me?"
"Not even a little."
"If you were putting an orphanage shortly after you were born, how do you know all this?" Gwen asked.
"I found a birth certificate, and it had our parents' names on it," said Teresa.
"Where have you been all this time?" Peter asked.
"I was a SHIELD agent, I was recruited by Nick Fury himself. However, I didn't like how Maria Hill was running things, so I quit in the middle of the Civil War."
Peter was entirely surprised to discover that Nick Fury was involved in this, and the timing made sense. Also, since his spider-sense wasn't going off, she wasn't dangerous.
"Okay, say we believe you. Do you think you can tell us why those men are after me specifically?" Peter asked.
"It has something to do with our parents, though what I cannot say," she said.
"Whatever they want, they seem to be relentless," said Gwen.
"And who are you when you're at home?" Teresa asked.
"My name is Gwen Stacy, and I'm a friend," he said.
"I thought you were dead," Teresa frowned.
Gwen looked at her, surprised. "I'm surprised you know about that."
"When I discovered my parents really are and began looking into the rest of my family," Teresa explained. "I know everything about Peter, his wife, kids and May Parker. So, mind explaining how you're back from the dead?"
"Uh, like you, Nick Fury recruited me as a SHIELD agent, and we sort of faked my death," said Gwen.
Peter had to admit that Gwen was good at thinking on her feet; his immediate concern was that of his wife.
"They could be after MJ and the girls," said Peter.
"No, they're after you specifically," said Teresa. "And we most certainly can't go and pick up; we're on a tight schedule."
"Where are we going exactly?" Gwen asked.
"Monaco," she said as she skidded to a halt near an airport.
"And how are we supposed to board a plane when we don't have our passports?" Peter asked.
Teresa pulled out a pair of passports. "I mean duplicates."
Gwen frowned. "How do you know I would be the apartment?"
"I didn't; I made one for my sister-in-law; you're going have to pretend to be Peter's wife."
"I'm blonde!"
Teresa then pulled out the red wig. "This is from one of my many disguises; be sure to give it back to me."
"Any more surprises in that bag of yours?" Peter asked.
"We need to move now," said Teresa.
"Hang on, I need to call my wife, informing her that I'm making a surprise trip with my long-lost sister."
"No time; you'll have to call her once we're off the ground."
Peter and Gwen argued as much as they could, but Teresa proved to be unbelievably stubborn. She dragged them onto a private plane, and they began making their way to Monaco.
Just as she had promised, she handed Peter a phone call to allow him to call MJ, but she wasn't very pleased.
"What do you mean you're in an aeroplane?" she yelled.
"MJ, I know you're upset—"
"Upset? I'm furious!"
"Hey, it's not that I planned this."
"Would you and Gwen willingly decide to board a plane with a stranger who claims to be your sister? Then there's the whole thing of the armoured men shooting up our apartment."
"She said she had already dispatched a repair crew to repair the damage."
"Oh, they're here, but they won't tell me what's going on."
"MJ, even I don't know what's going on. All I know is that several armed men are hunting me down because my parents and Gwen got caught in the middle of it. Don't worry; I'll come back as soon as all this is sorted out."
"Peter, I just got you back. I can't afford to lose you again, not when we have a baby on the way."
"Don't worry, be back before you know it."
Peter then handed the phone back to Teresa.
"She really does love you," she said.
"She does, but remember, I'm taking a huge leap in trusting you."
"Believe me, this is not how I want to introduce myself."
They soon landed, and Teresa immediately took them to a fancy hotel. Unfortunately, since Gwen was registered as his wife, the two of them had to share a bed.
"She couldn't have got a room with two separate beds?" Peter asked.
"Unfortunately, on this trip, I'm your wife, and it would be hard to explain to the staff why we wanted separate beds?"
"So, do you believe her story that she's my long-lost sister?" Peter asked.
"Actually, in that alternate reality, you did have a sister, and that was her," Gwen admitted.
"And you didn't see the need to tell me sooner?"
"I wasn't even certain if she was alive during this timeline."
Peter sighed. "Okay, so she's my sister, but I wish she could tell me what's happening."
"I'm sure she has her reasons."
"Well, they better be good ones."
Back in New York, MJ and Aunt May were getting the apartment sorted after the surprise abduction of her husband.
"So he has no idea why the men were after him?" Aunt May asked.
"No, but I'm sure he and Gwen can look after themselves," said MJ.
"I'm more concerned about this woman who claims to be his sister," said Aunt May. "Peter's parents would have left her with me and Ben like they did with Peter."
"From what I've been told, Peter's mother was pregnant during their last mission. When she was born, they put her in an orphanage, no doubt hoping they could retrieve her after the mission was complete."
"That does sound like Richard and Mary," Aunt May nodded. "So, have you told the girls that they got a new aunt?"
"I thought that we might delay that news until Peter gets home," said MJ.
Aunt May nodded. "That's probably for the best, but I still have my reservations."
Back in Monaco, Teresa managed to get both Peter and Gwen some formal wear for an event in the hotel. One of her contacts was expecting to meet alone, so she ordered them to mingle.
Unfortunately, a villain named Cyclone, who was undoubtedly working for the men hunting Peter, attacked. Both Peter and Gwen got into costume and managed to take him down.
Teresa managed to get an address for a man who had been Peter's parents' mission control. He was also kind enough to share a little about the kind of people Peter's parents were. Apparently, his father had a habit of making jokes and wisecracks.
The two of them had managed to lock down a Sleeper, a robot that HYDRA used in World War II. His father managed to lock it down using his DNA, which is a code that explains why people were now after Peter since he was with his father so much.
He pointed them in the direction of Cairo and kept the address of a safe house in Switzerland in hopes that they could find out more about Teresa.
They decided to head to Switzerland first to discover the truth. When they got inside, it was clear the place had not been used for years.
"There doesn't seem to be any pictures of you," said Gwen, looking at Teresa.
"I didn't expect there would be, not if they put me in the orphanage right after I was born," she said.
"Not that this isn't fun at all, but perhaps we should focus on the Sleeper in Cairo," Peter suggested.
"'Cairo protocol 2748.34 Ref: Reich's Hope," said a computer and suddenly, a hologram display appeared around them.
"Whoa!" Peter gasped.
"My father, like son," said Teresa. "It thinks you're Dad."
Peter leaned in so that it recognised his facial features. "Show me Reich's Hope."
Immediately, a hologram image of Cairo appeared in front of them, showing them exactly where the Sleeper was located.
"We did it, Peter," said Teresa excitedly.
Unfortunately, their celebration was short-lived as both Peter and Gwen felt their spider-sense tingling; Peter instantly grabbed Teresa, and they rushed out the same powers moments before the missile struck the place, burning it to the ground.
The explosion caused them to topple over the cliff, but they were able to stick to its surface. Additionally, their clothes were shredded, revealing their costumes underneath, and Teresa didn't look all that shocked.
"I knew it," she said.
"Yeah, I suppose it was a little unusual why Spider-Man and Ghost Spider showed up at the hotel we were currently staying at," Gwen admitted.
"We can discuss this once we're all safe," said Peter.
Soon, they were on a private plane, this time to Cairo, and Teresa had tons of questions, which they tried to answer to the best of their ability.
"When I looked you up, I thought it was a little strange that the Green Goblin was trying to destroy your life relentlessly," Teresa admitted. "However, your being Spider-Man explains everything."
"And now you know why my wife is so concerned that we disappeared off without warning," said Peter.
"I get it, don't worry, I'll keep your secrets safe," Teresa promised. "Though it is a shock to discover that your big brother is a superhero."
"It was a shock for me as well," said Gwen, folding her arms.
"Though I find it more surprising that you came back from the dead and have memories of an alternate reality," said Teresa, looking straight at her.
"And I've been doing everything I can to help Peter and MJ, though I think you two don't need my help any more," said Gwen.
"Oh, I still think we're going to need your help," said Peter.
Once they landed in Cairo, Teresa handed Peter a black costume since his costume was burnt quite badly. They then began to make their way towards the location on the map, and it looked as if they were two steps ahead of whoever was chasing them.
They soon found the ruins where the Sleeper was supposed to be located and found the secret entrance. Once they were inside, they found the place since the Nazis, in their egotistical way, decided to engrave their achievement into the stone.
"Now we just need to find the Sleeper," said Peter.
"Hey, let us find it," said a familiar voice.
"I recognise that voice," said Gwen.
They were instantly blinded by torchlight, and when the eyes adjusted, they saw standing there was none other than the Kingpin.
"Kingpin," said Peter. "I thought the Superior Spider-Man killed you."
"He nearly did, but I left the body double at the scene," he said. "I then discovered this Sleeper that your parents had hidden, but unfortunately, I needed you to find it. I didn't realise you had a sister, nor did I expect she'd follow the same trail, but it turned out well in the end as, thanks to your help, I can now finally get my hand upon."
"We will let that happen," said Gwen.
"And what do you expect to do to stop me?" Kingpin asked, gesturing to the heavily armed henchmen. "As you can see, we have you completely surrounded."
"Why are you so interested in the Sleeper?" Gwen asked.
"I'm not; the Nazis also hide a fortune of gold with the Sleeper; that is what I want. Thanks to the Superior Spider-Man, my criminal empire has been destroyed, and I need money to rebuild it. Now, I won't ask again, open the vault."
"Since you asked so nicely," said Peter.
"Peter, don't," said Teresa.
"Computer, wake up the Sleeper!" Peter yelled.
Instantly, the entire place began to shake as the vault opened, revealing the Sleeper and a fortune of gold bars. However, the Sleeper suddenly took off and shot straight through the ceiling, causing the cave-in.
Peter quickly used this opportunity to get into costume and attached himself to the Sleeper, leaving Gwen and Teresa to deal with the Kingpin and his men.
"Is it always like this for you guys?" Teresa asked as she fired her pistol.
"Pretty much," said Gwen.
Peter had successfully crashed the Sleeper back down to the ground, destroying it. This resulted in the gold that Fisk wanted so badly to be buried even further underground. Fortunately, both Gwen and Teresa managed to escape before that happened.
Peter managed to change his costume just before the authorities arrived and began to arrest all the men, but Fisk somehow managed to slip away.
"Guess, that's the end of that story," said Peter.
"What happened to Fisk?" Gwen asked.
"No idea, but the authorities are trying to locate him," said Teresa. "I wish we could have found proof that was really the daughter of Richard and Mary Parker, though."
"We could run a DNA test once we get back home," said Peter.
"Not even sure I want to know the truth now," said Teresa.
Gwen placed a hand on her shoulder. "Come on, I'm sure that May would be more than happy to have a niece, and I'm sure the girls would love to get to know their new aunt."
"I really shouldn't be associating with any of you; I could easily put you all in danger," said Teresa.
"Sis, we're superheroes; putting ourselves in danger is an occupational hazard," Peter smiled. "And I, for one, would like to get to know my little sister."
Teresa sighed. "You are unbelievably stubborn."
"We Parkers always are."
They eventually went back to New York City and began to form a DNA test.
"He's the results," said Harry as he printed them out.
"What's the verdict?" Peter asked.
Harry smiled. "Congratulations, Peter. It looks like you have a little sister."
Teresa looked stunned. "So we are related."
"According to this," said Harry.
"Want to me the rest of our family?" Peter asked.
Peter took Teresa home, where she was given a big welcome party.
"Welcome home?" Aunt May cried, hugging her.
Teresa looked a little stunned and hugged her back. "Thanks, Aunt May."
"Auntie Teresa," May and April cried, immediately hugging her legs.
Teresa laughed. "Hello."
"Are you going to stay with us?" May asked.
"I-I not sure," she said.
"Yes, she is," said MJ.
"I don't want to be a burden," said Teresa.
"Nonsense, child, family is never a burden," said Aunt May.
"I still have some secret work to do, but I can hang around for a few days," said Teresa.
Peter then placed a hand on her shoulder. "Welcome to the family, sis."
Many of you have been asking about Teresa, and I hope you're not disappointed.
