So many reviews for just the first chapter, honestly you all have made my day with your posts. I don't plan to spoil anything when it comes to the ship of this story because I truthfully haven't thought about it. The reason for that is because I want to focus on the main story more then anything. Anyways here we go chapter 2!

"Welcome Jaune Arc to Atlas".

A simple and normal greeting if he ever heard one. Those words shouldn't have been intimidating in the least and yet he could feel his palms starting to sweat already. "Thank you General Ironwood for giving me this chance to work towards my dream. I swear you won't regret it". Ironwood nodded, "see to it that you don't I'm not particularly happy with projects that are a waste of my time. That being said I've seen your father in action many times before so I'll be expecting you to try your hardest to live up to his example".

Jaune couldn't help but deflate a little since throughout his entire childhood he'd heard of his father's skills and abilities from others. His father felt like some kind of legend at this point which made it so much more daunting to even think he could measure up in anyway. "I'll give it my best shot sir that's a promise" he finally said after a minute of silence.

Ironwood drew out his seat and sat down before linking his hands together just under his chin. "That's excellent to hear". The General pressed on a key that brought up Jaunes real documents on the holo screen. "I'm already aware that you haven't had any training but I must ask do you have your aura unlocked at least? And if so, how much training have you had in controlling it? What sort of semblance have you awakened to help you..."? Jaune raised his hand and cut through the Generals bombardment of questions. "I don't have an aura sir...in fact I'm not quite sure what that even is. As for a semblance I think I read a little about that in one of the books Ozpin gave me but other then that I'm pretty sure I don't have one...um sir".

The General of Atlas let out a sigh at the news. "I see, that's understandable since all you've done is go to an ordinary school not affiliated with any form of combat training". Ironwood cupped his chin and put the gears in his brain to work. An idea came to mind and the General stood up from his chair and made his way over to the young Arc. "Before we can even start your training I'm going to need to awaken your aura or your most likely be in serious pain in the coming days". Jaune nodded to the elder man's words before Ironwood extended a hand and placed it on Jaunes shoulder.

There was a moment where it felt like nothing was happening when all of a sudden the room was filled with such a bright light anyone staring straight at it's source would have been blinded. Ironwood took a step back along with a deep breath before standing up straight. "Now this is an unexpected development" the General whispered, a smile spreading across his face.

Jaune looked about himself and marveled at the rush of energy coursing through his being. "So this is my aura"? His body shimmered for a few seconds longer until the light from his soul seeped into himself once more. Ironwood nodded, "that's correct and from the feel of it there's a lot more within you then I've ever felt from anyone else". Winter, who had been silent until now couldn't help but speak up at the news of someone having so much aura. "Exactly how much are we talking about sir"?

Ironwood looked to his specialist with a wide grin, "close to triple of my level of aura". Winter's mouth hung loose for a fraction of a second before she quickly regained her composure. "Nearly triple?! Such a large amount of aura reserves has never been recorded in the history of Atlas".

"It's never been recorded in the history of remnant for all that we know" the General continued "which makes it the perfect weapon for someone lacking in the combat department". Jaune hadn't really been following along since he was more fascinated with his new found power but he did catch the tail bit where the General mention his aura being the perfect weapon for him. "Ok I've got my aura unlocked" he said as his closed his hand into a fist "what's next"? Ironwood looked to the boy and held out a hand, "next we'll be confiscating your weapons and armor so they can be upgrade to Atlas standards".

Jaune looked down to his great grandfathers old and beaten up sword before reluctantly handing it over along with his armor once he was finished removing them. Ironwood took the gear and passed them onto Winter. "Take these to the lab and use the size of his armor for the new set, also while your down there I want you to go over the weapons specs and find some useful attachments to give the boy some further options that he could use in the future". Winter saluted Ironwood before grabbing hold of the gear and wasted no time in making her exit, leaving Jaune alone with her boss.

Ironwood walked over to his desk and pressed on the intercom, "please send Vine Zeki to my office". The intercom beeped and a woman's voice responded, "right away General". Ironwood turned back to the blonde and leaned back against the desk. "Originally I was going to have you start basic training with Winter after you settled in but after seeing the amount of aura you have I'm thinking we'll start with aura manipulation first. Your day will be split into a three part training routine starting tomorrow. In the morning you'll start by studying all the material that you missed by not going to a combat school, so be prepared for a long and boring morning".

Studying was something Jaune wasn't the best at but he already gave his promise to try his best and he wasn't about to go back on those words anytime soon.

"Of course before any work is started you'll be given breakfast, lunch and dinner in a timely fashion, although dinner will be held after work to make sure you don't throw it up" Ironwood continued. Jaune gulped in fear. "After your morning studies are completed you'll move onto aura manipulation and practical applications of dust. Trust me you won't face any danger with that one. And finally to close out the day you'll be worked to the bone in combat class where we'll focus on building up you stamina, endurance and other aspects you'll need to survive the daily life of a huntsmen in training".

Jaune raised his hand and waited for the General to give him the ok to speak. "Um, I don't think you've told me when I'll be given a day off...sir". Ironwood crossed his arm and raised a brow, "that's because you won't get one". The young Arc felt his blood run cold. "We have three to four months to get you primed and ready for the entrance exam, this means each and everyday will be more precious then the last" Ironwood said as he stood up straight. "And worry not for you physical health because your aura will be able to heal your bruised and battered body by the next day, making you ready to endure even more".

The door to Ironwoods office opened and a tall man with a very calm type of aura came in. "You called for me sir"? Ironwood nodded, "I did. In fact I'm actually in need of your expertise where it comes to aura manipulation for this young man" he said as he motioned to Jaune. The tall man took a moment to introduce himself as Vine Zeki before allowing Jaune the chance to do the same. "This young man has an incredible amount of aura that I would like for you to help him master, or at the very least help him control enough to focus it's healing effects" Ironwood continued.

Vine nodded to the General and turned back to Jaune. "If I may"? The tall man held out a hand for Jaune to take before focusing his aura the second their hands touched. Jaune was a little curious as to what Vine was doing but decided it would be best to not interrupt the man while he was working. Vine allowed his aura to meld with Jaune's so he could find out just how much he was working with. To his surprise it felt like the amount Jaune had within himself was indeed around the level Ironwood had said.

Vine let go of Jaunes hand and linked his own behind his back. "I honestly never felt so much aura before General, I'll try my best to help him as best I can but what of my duties to the Ace Ops"?

"That you won't need to worry about. We are in the middle of an investigating the White Fang whereabouts right now but Clover is already overseeing that and has the other Ace Ops on stand by. Until such a time that your called to action I've decided to have you stationed as this young man's mentor in regards to aura since you won't have anything else to do" Ironwood concluded.

Being demoted to a school teacher was not what he wanted to do with his free time but Vine wasn't one to disobey an order. "I understand sir but when I am called to action who'll take my place while I'm away"? The question was simple and Jaune knew the General already planned for it because he seemed unconcerned with the question. "Obviously your replacement will be Winter. She's normally going to be pretty busy taking care of the morning studies and the combat portions of the day, but I'll have her branch out to take over in times of need".

Ironwood would have said more but unfortunately he was interrupted by the beeping of his scroll. The other two in the room waited in silence until the General finished his call. From the sound of it it seemed to be a rather urgent one that needed his immediate attention. Once Ironwood finished up he pocketed the scroll before looking to the two of them. "Sorry, I know this is sudden but there's an urgent situation that's just come to my attention. Jaune I'll be leaving you in Vines care for now, be sure to listen to the advice he has to offer and everything will be okay. Vine should you need any assistants in your lessons Winter has been made available to offer a hand".

Ironwood headed over to the door but stopped to look back at the blonde. "I know I've said it before but welcome to Atlas". With those parting words the General marched out of the room leaving the two alone in his office.

Jaune wasn't really good at starting conversations, but luckily he didn't have to since Vine beat him to it. "We should go too. Our training will be better conducted where we can have some peace and quiet without worry of being disturbed". Jaune nodded to his mentors words and followed after him when the older man moved towards the door.

Ironwood walked at a brisk pace all the way to the holding cells located in a secure location not to far from the academy. After all what better place to keep prisoners then somewhere close to individuals who are trained to take them down. Of course that's only if the military hasn't handled it first. Ironwood reached the security lock and swiped his scroll over it granting himself immediate access before pulling on the door handle and entering the compound. After which it took only a few minutes to reach the wardens office where the warden himself was waiting outside the door for arrival.

The two men shook hands before the warden led the way to an interrogation room they had set up away from the prisoners. "Has she said anything since she was captured"? Ironwood asked. The warden wore a black suit with a brown turtle neck underneath which he pulled on as he cleared his throat in discomfort. "Actually General the young lady wasn't captured by our men at all, she actually turned herself in to me when she reached Atlas and made her way here". Ironwood met the warden's eyes with a raised brow, "did she give you any reason why she went through the trouble"?

"She did. She said she had information that would be extremely valuable to you and Atlas but that she'd only divulge this info to you in secret. If the chances were true that she did in fact have info of value I didn't want to make a spectacle for potential spies to catch on".

The two reached the interrogation room and Ironwood went to open the door first. He stopped and looked to the warden with a smile, "good work warden. If this info is as important as she's making out to be then keeping this quiet was the right call". The door opened and the two entered into the room. Two Atlas soldiers stood on either side of the woman with their guns aimed at her back should she try anything. Ironwood pulled out the chair on the opposite side of the table and took a seat, "at ease men. I don't think this young woman would have made such a journey and took such a risk if she was here to start trouble".

The two guard looked to each other and decided to listen to the Generals order.

"Took you long enough to get her General, this info is time sensitive you know" spoke the prisoner. Ironwood placed his hands on the table to show he was here without hostile intent. "I apologize but I was in the middle of a meeting with someone I'd been expecting for a couple of days now. I'm sure you can understand that your untimely arrival couldn't have come at a worse time". The prisoner let out a sigh but nodded in agreement. "Your right and I'm sorry for that but this is really important, believe me when I tell you that this won't be a waste of your time".

Ironwood considered her words for a moment before asking, "then tell me what info you have for me that'd you risk your own life by sneaking into Atlas for"? The prisoner tapped their finger on the table but didn't answer, instead they asked one of their own. "What do I get for giving you what I know"? Ironwood knew where this was going but decided he'd play along to see what the prisoner wanted. "What do you want then"? The prisoner smiled, "I want my record erased and the chance to come to Atlas to become a hunter".

Ironwoods mind whirled in confusion for a moment before he quickly became suspicious of the prisoners intentions. There were a few reasons he could think of, of why a character like this would want to join Atlas academy but he had to be sure. "That depends" he answered. The prisoner raised a brow, "depends on what"? Ironwood met the prisoners gaze with an emotionless expression he forced to the front to give nothing away. "It depends on how good the intel is and how straight forward you are with me".

The prisoner looked surprised at first but smiled shortly after. "That's just fine with me General, and as for the info I have...well I wouldn't risk my life over something flimsy". Ironwood nodded in agreement, "very well, tell me what you know and I'll judge for myself on how forthcoming you really are". The prisoner nodded, "ok but first I'm going to need my scroll that the warden confiscated before I turned myself in".

Ironwood turned to the warden and waited for the man to hand over the device he had in his possession. Once the General had the scroll in hand he slid it over to the prisoner. "You know' the General said "I could have just had some of my people hack into your scroll and obtained the data without having to make a deal with you". The prisoner chuckled lightly, "you could have, but then you'd run the risk of leaking my intel to a potential spy within the military". Ironwood said nothing else but it was evident that the prisoner knew what they were doing.

The prisoner unlocked the scroll and went into the gallery where with one click a few pictures of different places and people popped up. Ironwood looked on with interest as the prisoner clicked on one picture after the next. With each new picture the prisoner gave a detail description of what the places purpose was for, who ran them, who was in charge of each location and who ran the whole show from within mantle. Ironwood wasn't the only one left speechless in the moment after the prisoner had spoken but he was the first to regain his composure.

The General rose to his feet with both hands at his side, clenched into tight fists to keep himself from getting overexcited. "I'm going to have this looked over but if this is spot on then we can rid ourselves of a problem we've been facing for a while now". His eye's locked onto the prisoners once more, "I suppose a thank you is in order". The prisoner shook their head, "just keep your end of the deal and we'll be even...sir". Ironwood nodded and was about to leave when he remembered that he never asked why the prisoner was doing this in the first place. When he asked the prisoner, they were more then happy to explain for him.

"Because I want change, a change so great that it'll blow away any doubt that my people aren't anything other then equal to humankind".

"That sounds exactly like what the White Fang has been spewing for years now. How would you be any different"?

The prisoner didn't try to hide their feelings and spoke plainly for all to hear. "Because unlike the White Fang I'm not demanding the peoples trust through force or fear through violence. Instead I plan to work hard in service of the people to show that we can be trusted and respected just like any other". Ironwood was surprised once more but had to ask, "but why Atlas? You could have worked towards this goal at any other place of your choosing, so why come here"? The prisoner met the Generals eye's and Ironwood could see the determination hidden behind those grey eye's.

"Because what better place to make a change then the one place that hates us the most".

That kind of conviction could move many if it were allowed to develop properly. Ironwood smiled, "I see. Before I go what do I call you? I don't think I ever asked for your name".

"Ilia sir. Ilia Amitola".

At the same time that the General was dealing with his prisoner, Jaune had begun his first aura manipulation session with Vine. The venue that was chosen for their practice session was a track field that was wasn't in use at the moment. Vine watched the young Arc as he tried to bring his aura out to protect him. After a few seconds the Ace operative whacked a metal extendable pointer against The Blondes Head. A low thwack was heard and not an ounce of aura was used to lesson the already weak blow.

"Argh" Jaune yelled. He gripped his head and jumped out of his meditation circle just in case Vine tried to whack him again. The Ace operative let out a disappointed sigh as he crossed his hands behind his back. "You can't just sit there and breath and think your aura will manifest on it's own. The power of the soul must be invoked with your will and commanded with your mind. Knowing those two key points and practicing them over and over again will allow you to raise your aura to protect you when your in danger. Until we reach the point where it becomes second nature we'll do this as many times as it take. Now back into your sitting position".

Jaune rubbed his head and followed his mentors advice, taking a seat once more and trying once again to bring forth his aura. When they first started all he was told was to manifest his aura, not how he was able to do that when he just got his power awakened. It didn't matter in the end and Jaune just pushed his complaints to the back of his mind and focused on trying to bring out his soul just like Vine had told him. "Using my will to invoke the soul and my mind to command it" Jaune whispered before closing his eye's.

Vine stepped behind the boy but made no move to whack him, instead he waited, giving the young Arc a few minutes to try again. Jaune focused his will on the sensation he felt when he first awakened his power and found that his aura was indeed just lying in wait to be brought out. So, with his mind he imagined his aura spreading out over his body like it did the first time. Right when he felt his aura beginning to listen to him, he remembered that Vine was probably going to hit him in the head with that pointer again.

The distraction caused his aura to recede within once more, and before Jaune could try to reach in again the metal pointer in Vines hands whacked against the back of his head. Jaune gripped his head and rolled on the floor in pain.

Vine sighed in disappointment again and proceeded to cross his arm's behind his back. "You nearly had it that time but for some reason you let it go, why"? Jaune sat up and rubbed the back of his head before answering, "I don't know. I guess I was just worried that you were going to hit me in the head again and that caused me to...slip I guess". Vine nodded and collapsed the point in his hands. "Then this time we'll do things without the threat of violence and see how well you do. If nothing changes however then we'll come back to this form of training".

Jaune reentered his meditation circle for the third time and used the same trick he learned previously to envelope himself in aura. When he opened his eye's and looked down at himself, he couldn't hide the large smile that spread over his face. "I did it" he said with a hint of pride and excitement in his voice. All seemed well until Jaune took a blow to the back of his head courtesy of his mentor. Jaune grabbed the back of his head and turned to glare at Vine, "what was that for"?! The Ace operative smiled and asked "did it hurt"?

Jaune was going to say that it did in fact hurt but after thinking about it for a few seconds longer there wasn't really a sense of pain to associate with the hit he had received.

"That is why huntsmen and huntresses need aura. With our souls manifested to protect us we lessen the amount of damage we receive during our fights with the Grimm. Ordinary people don't have such protections which makes most of us look superhuman to the average person. Unfortunately such gifts come with their own cost". Jaune's eyes widened at the news. "What kinda of cost"? He asked.

"The cost of having this kind of power means we can never return to the simple life of a civilians because we will forever have access to this power" Vine said calmly. The Ace operative placed a hand on Jaunes shoulder and smiled, "Aura does more then act as a shield to protect us, it also strengthens us in numerous ways like allowing us jump higher, run faster and fighter harder then ever before. While your here in Atlas you'll see exactly what I mean and more but remember this life is one that you yourself chosen alone".

There was some comfort in that knowledge. He had in fact chose this life on his own free will and so far he wasn't regretting it. Vine could see in his students eye's that he was indeed at peace with his decision. And so the Ace Op stepped back and held his metal pointer at the young Arc. "Then shall we continue with your lesson"?

Jaune chuckled lightly, "do you even have to asked"?

Well look who showed up in my story! If it isn't little Ilia. Let's just hope she don't get killed off so easily like in my other story Lol.

The whole thing with Vines lesson is the same for our world as well...well except for the aura part. The abilities gain from training to become a huntsmen is like working to be a soldier. The training and lessons learned become a part of your life which is why when you've been in the military for a while it's hard to return to normal society. I mean a soldier has a lot to worry about and when they bring those problems home with them there's always trouble.

I think superman said it best when he was fighting Darkseid. "It's like living in a world made of cardboard", except that the huntsmen and huntresses aren't as strong and the people are the cardboards in their world.

This just in, If you read the new bullshit that is happening for RWBY volume 9 then I'll say it now, "I am done with this show". They plan to make Jaune sexually confused and then kill him off?! They plan for the RWBY girls to have an orgy to cater to fans whims?! The fuck is wrong with these people!
