Episode 26- A sneaky get away.

.

"What did the big boss say this time?" He was standing behind Kerrigan, waiting for the end of a chaotic mess of sound to end in his head.

"He's going to Aiur, the homeworld of protoss. But I have to remain here."

"And what will you do?"

She turned her head back to look into his eyes. "Hunt down the Protoss on Char, of course."

*Sigh* A hand gently massaged his face, "Of course you do. Well, I have a few zerg to take care of." With that, Dobromir turned around and walked to his new followers.

Two people were under the trees elongating shades, the sun slowly crossing the horizon. The nightlife was slowly waking up, be it birds, small creatures or bugs.

"Another sunset, another part of the training." Turning himself around to look into the forests deep, he continued. "Mina, you practiced with a simple trick, now it's time to delve into more useful things."

"And what would that be?" She asked, slightly nervous.

Turning back, Stetmann answered "View a planet we are currently standing on."

Putting one hand outward palm up, Mina concentrated, slowly creating a medium ball of light. She tried to change it to look more like a planet, but the ball quickly wavered and disappeared. She tried again, receiving similar results.

"Maybe start with something like a hologram, create from lines with nothing between."

She closed her eyes in concentration .A much needed base was established, and the next action was very quick. Starting simple, she created the whole planet, which was dominated by bigger and smaller circular spots. The globe itself was created from big, crisscrossing lines.

Opening her eyes, Mina observed something strange, "I am sure I don't have this good of memory and I surely didn't see the whole planet. Are all the other spots randomly generated or something?"

"No, no," Stetmann said, waving his arms a little in accordance, "It's the magic itself filling the blanks, you just need to be somewhat familiar with the planet and that's it."

She looked at the slowly spinning globe a little longer, before pointing something out "Wait, Po'Midor doesn't have sea or ocean?"

"No, it's only lakes and streams. The most problematic point of this map is, it doesn't show all the swamps, bogs, non-tropical rainforests and so on. With how much greenery is on this planet, the water has to be from somewhere."

"Hmm…" She tried to make the map more accurate, but only more lines were added chaotically until it ended as one big mess of squiggles. She let it disappear with a wave of hand. before looking at him.

"You will need to get much better before you can make a perfect picture. Now, try making the stellar system we are currently in. Without the planet's details."

Another minute of concentrating, and it all began to appear, starting with the sun. Then the Po'midor itself appeared together with a small moon, apparent by the nickname showing just above the images. Slowly now, five more planets appeared, with the farthest one being many more times bigger than their lush swamp.

"Good, good" Stetmann replied, nodding his head in approval. He quickly took out a tablet, tapped and swiped a few things, before quickly adding "Now, try adding more details to everything, I have important matters to take care of." After saying this, he quickly found a suitable spot to sit on and started furiously typing on his device.

Mina looked at him for a moment, before turning attention to her current depiction of the system, with only one name showing up.

"By the shared bond of blood, I appoint you as the secondary leader of my pack," saying this, Dobromir smeared three lines vertically, crossed by a half moon pointing downward. It began at the top of the head, and ended just above the zerglings' eyes.

His whole pack of zerglings was watching, sensing the importance. The drones simply didn't give a F $&. The whole pack was on a lonely hill, some distance from Kerrigan's current position, and far enough from any zerg base. The hill itself was nothing special. Ot, just a useful vantage point, with nothing else to offer.

Dobromir stood up from the zergling prostrating itself before him, and said "Araise, my faithful carriage puller, a quest of great importance awaits you!"

"Skirr!" The zerg did as it was told, and the surprisingly red blood on its head glowed intensely for a moment, before becoming a part of his being, embedding itself forever. "SKIRRR!" It let out even loudly and was soon followed by the rest of the pack, giving their own voices to the chaotic chorus.

"Good, good, now" The new leader stopped and looked at him paying his full attention. "You will make sure to stay on this hill, do nothing and laze about the whole time. I count on you."

His new minion nodded his head, before laying on the ground, closing its eyes, and doing nothing. The rest followed its actions, with varying sleeping poses as their only difference.

"Smart little creature. Now, how will I transport all this junk?" He pondered, scratching chin with one hand, looking nowhere particular. "Aha, got it." He said with a snap of his fingers, "but the first part would have to be done with overlords… ho well."

He started walking towards the closest zerg logistics hub, a base. "Far, thy well, my minions," He said with a weave of his hand. His response was a single wag of the leader's tail.

"There are still problems with the samples? Seriously?" Stetmann was standing further away from the still training Mina, talking through his tablet, "I know, but we can't turn off the 'Go Away Anti Zerg Emitter', so our options are slim." Some noises sounded from the speakers. "Yes, I will name it like that to my grave and beyond." More noises, "Because every scientific machinery should have a geeky name that sounds cool only on paper." From the other end of the speaker, he heard a sigh, before something very surprising happened. "He's going back?!"

Now, Mina's concentration was completely broken, and she looked at him with a puzzled expression.

"Then I will have to prepare a few things beforehand."

He bumped his fist with two others, one the forest background. His bumping companions had strikingly familiar faces, which were illuminated by the very bright moon from above. In the background, a different kind of familiar faces showed in the background, adorned by the strikingly pink hair.

Dobromir opened his eyes, looking at his fleshy ceiling. "Really, these little glimpses of the future don't help at all, especially when I quickly forget them, only for a very strong sense of familiarity, and 'I have seen this before in my dreams' when the event in question actually happens. Egh, so useless."

He raised to a sitting position, and looked through an overlord's fleshy window, only to see a certain planet. "Tarsonis, finally. Now, only a little longer."

Finally, after many failed times, she made a 3d map, featuring roughly the terrain. She went through many versions of maps, globes, and different things and now, she has reached a level good enough to roughly show the bodies of water, roughly trees, and even big enough swamps.

"Good, a little more practice, and it will be good enough." Mina looked up, as Stetmann stood rather close to the hologram, his glasses reflecting the light making his eyes invisible.

leaning back, his eyes now obscured by the shadow of the night, he continued "Tomorrow, we will focus on other mapping details, but for now, one… last… thing…" his voice getting a little more deep at the end.

"Something you didn't ever see with your own two eyes, but on an instinctual level familiar to every, single, Terran. Terra, of course."

"Terra? You mean… earth?"

"You forgot the capital letter, it's Earth, the homeland of our ancestors. Now, instead of shape, focus on everything The Earth means to you."

"Well, I can certainly try…" And she did just that. It took much longer but, ever so slowly, a shape began to coalesce from starlight, before finally becoming whole.

Stetmann leaned much more closer than the last time, face almost touching the ghostly image. "I see all the continents, but this is certainly outdated. You almost perfectly recreated how our ancestors saw their home, all those years ago." He looked at her, staring deeply into Mina's eyes. "Don't worry, with more practice, you will become a great star charter one day."

This certainly filled her with fuzzy feelings of accomplishment, which she didn't experience for quite some time.

"Alright, alright! It's still in perfect shape! Leave it just here," Dobromir said, pointing at the spot just beside his space boat. The overlords hovered over, and deposited all his junk, together with the carriage. "You can go now." They did just that, leaving him alone. "Now, let's look at the deck… Perfect condition, the weak force field has done its job. The sail… all bundled and undamaged. Electronics… the battery is all charged up, no damage was done. Alright, let's get started." He walked over the panel, and activated the anti gravitation field. It wasn't used often, but it certainly came in handy with the heavier stuff.

A quick loading of the precious research material, and he was off. A quick deployment of propellers, and the atmosphere was defeated in no time. Reaching a close border between planet and cosmos, the sail was deployed for the final stretch. Finally, a sea of stars meet this lonely star sailor, who retracted his propellers and sailed forth, to his place of origin."

Authors useless explanations:

I didn't use the Deja Vu because it actually would be incorrect. There are a few similar Deja's in there, so when it comes to dream remembrance I would need to write Deja Reve (of course with all those special lines). So, if I ever use this dream narrative again, I probably will use the Deja's.
