For the next few minutes, the Arisato twins locked themselves into an intense stare down with their sensei. And in another few, their classroom had one force of nature clash with another when Naoya released another wave of suffocating energy that knocked out all the students in one go, say for the two still holding their ground.
Unconscious bodies dropped to the floor, laying limp. Hamuko felt her legs weaken slowly transform into jelly and her body starting to shut down from the malice emitted from her teacher. She was barely holding on when Minato patted her on the shoulder, somehow this made her recover almost all her energy.
"So you like playing games huh?" Minato glared at his sensei, stomping foot into the ground, mimicking Naoyo's death wave.
"Oh ho. I see you're awakened aren't you?" The older man mused out loud, eyes curious. He then tilted his neck and grinned, "But you're decades too early kid-"
It was then, something miraculous, or rather terrible happened. Naoya's heart froze into an icy tundra, petrifying all the blood in his veins when Mintao surpassed his own dark aura. Now it was his turn to sweat. Carefully, the man kept a strong poker face but he was questioning who the hell was this kid on the inside. Was he a demon or something?
"I smell your fear, sensei. You might want to back down if you know what's good for you…" Minato smirked, totally unlike himself.
"That's…"
Now Naoya was at a loss for words. Kirijo promised him this would be an easy job. All he had to do was whip some dumbass kids into shape and he'd be guaranteed free reign in the dark hour with a big fat salary that even impressed the Nanjos. Dammit, he didn't expect the blue one to be this crazy. He eyed the red one, hoping she'd speak up. He read their files, neither child should have awakened or should have shown signs of being persona users at all in their past so why was one of them looking like he had mauled more than his fair share of enemies already? Hell was he even Minato Arisato at all?
"Minato, let's go down to the cafeteria, I'm hungry!"
"Let's go try the mystery slime, sis." Minato replied deadpan.
"Ew! I'm not touching that exchange program's food!" Hamuko acted all grossed out. No way was she trying that disgusting American school lunch.
"Good old sloppy joe and grilled cheese sandwiches. What more can you ask for, hm?" Her brother shrugged, saying he enjoyed the moldy bread and undercooked round pizzas too. It was what they served for breakfast before they went for their entrance ceremony. Apparently the principal wanted some cultural exchange and replaced half their dining options with crappy American school food.
"No, just no! We're going for Takoyaki today!" She declared.
Her brother protested but ultimately gave in. He already ate enough junk food at home to fill ten dump trucks and five olypmic sized pools and the counter was still increasing. We're eating healthy today and that's final!
Hamuko yanked her brother out of his death stance.
She almost died from the half raw chicken burger and slimy milk they served along with half the student body. No more American food. With that, she forcefully removed him from the room, dragging him by the collar.
Naoya almost wanted to take a sip of his coffee and then spit it out just for the special effects needed to convey this bonkers scene. Did that girl just drag the eldritch horror away just like that? She barely paid attention to their stand off too. As Minato was hauled off, he could see the bluenette flipping him off down the hallway. Naoya replied back with sign language version of "fuck off".
Naoya Toudou took in one deep breath and sighed. Truly this was going to be one hell of a job. He almost wanted to call out but his pride wouldn't let him do that. Returning to the classroom, he started to draft up a report to Kirijos.
By the time he was done, lunch time was over and those who were knocked out simply had to deal with it.
Hours later, school finished, signaling all the students to go back home. Hamuko opened the double doors of her new living space, being greeted by two people in the lobby. None of them expressing any delight in seeing the Arisatos return.
"You both have a lot to answer to." Mitsuru crossed her arms, wooden rapier in one and with a stern frown.
"And you better not have any excuses." Akihiko added. Both seniors blocked their way up the stairs, leaving only Yukari the only sophomore to sit awkwardly in the lonuge.
"I don't see what wrong we've committed so far." Minato said.
Mitsuru held up a list, reading it off "Breaking into the dorms, stealing, threatening your homeroom teacher and skipping classes to go out for food." The heiress finished, "with all that said, you two have earned yourselves quite the public execution!"
"Ah, but I don't see why that's a problem." Minato brushed off the explanation. "If I'm being filmed for your live entertainment then I feel like we have the right to cause you this much trouble."
"W-waht?!"
Mitsuru paled, seeing a cheeky grin come from both siblings.
"Who knows? I might even put on a few shows." Minato scoffed, passing the heiress while she was stunned. He then made a gun gesture with his hand, "We found some other stuff inside here too."
"You…didn't!" Akihiko's jaw dropped.
"Don't tell me you guys are some type of secret school cult hell bent on taking over the city somehow!" Hamuko made a fake gasping sound, which only worsened the situation. She had the right idea but the wrong objective.
Now it was the senior's turn to back off.
"Ahem! You both have the wrong idea…"
"It's ok! We're ok with rooming with a doomsday cult." Hamuko winked, then followed her brother. "Being open minded nowadays is a good thing. We'll accept you no matter how deranged you all are!"
"That's right sis! We can't discriminate against people based on their beliefs, even if they're batshit insane. Now let's go so we can leave them to discuss their plans!" Minato added.
The siblings soon disappeared upstairs, leaving the two stunned seniors and silent. This was going to be a long and very painful journey.
When the clock struck midnight, Mitsuru turned on the video camera to the twin sibling's room. What was surprising was how neither of them bothered blocking them off or obscuring the camera in some way. Zooming in, she began to feel an encroaching headache at what she saw.
"What the hell…?" Akihiko spat out his protein shake, splattering it all over the command room's keyboard. Mitsuru didn't even register the impact as she watched Hamuko being chased around by some ghost child threatening to break her knees if she didn't sign some shady ass contract where she tried to hit him with a potted plant. Dark ichor splattered all over the floor as the small figure bleed from the impact but this only horrified his already ghostly appearance. To everyone's horror, the little boy was still somehow moving.
"Sign it! Your life depends on it" he yelled, clasping the papers in his cold dead child hands that previously held multiple crayons used to draw on the contract paper. Hamuko shirked, grabbing a nearby mop left in her room for some reason, jabbing the kid and telling him to stay away.
"What the hell are you?! Get away!" She yelled, staining the mop black from his unusual blood.
"A little ghost boy! What else!?" He screamed back, losing his cool.
"Did I kill you in a past life or something?! Stop squatting in my room! Go get your own dorm room! Go haunt my brother or something! He's the one into that creepy Ring shit' "
She swung it at him, forcing him back but also had some of the ichor splatter onto the contract paper. Big mistake.
"Finally! I've got something. Now I can fuck off!" The ghost boy shouted, flipping the girl off.
"That doesn't count at all! I didn't even sign it!"
"Legally, anything can be a signature, princess." The boy shrugged, "Anyways, I'll be off on my way since I got what I came here for. Good luck dealing with that salty asshole in the Velvet room!"
The ghost child vanished into thin air, leaving a stunned Hamuko alone. Little did she know this was only her first annoying visitor for the night.
Mitsuru and Akihiko decided to turn a blind to whatever just happened because they weren't the ghost busters and therefore did not know how to deal with the dead. That little boy was not a shadow, perhaps he was just an attachment of sorts. Hell maybe Ghost Adventures was right and they should sage the dorm the next time they got up in the morning. Yukari had already run off into a corner quivering from the encounter and it'll be a while before she'll feel safe in this place again.
Hamuko felt someone telling her to wake up and she snapped open her eyes to see an elevator-like blue room with a lone boy facing her. He was tall, dressed in a tailored navy suit that resembled an elevator attendant with….dark brown hair.
"Wake up already, do you know the shit you'll be in for?" He spoke to her in a lecture like voice, she felt like she'd seen him somewhere before.
"Huh? Now who are you?" She was at her breaking point, first she was chased by a little ghost boy and now this guy shows up.
"Listen well, because I'll only explain to you once what this place is and who I am. I won't say it again." The attendant took a deep breath, "I'm Tatsuya Suou and I'll be your attendant in this crappy place from now on and welcome to the Velvet room, blah blah blah."
Now just how did Tatusya make his way into a resident of the Velvet room? It's a long story….
