Unforgettable

Lightning and Fang have yet another Lazy Sunday with the household, which consisted of Seven, Sice, Odin the Cat and Baby Kurasame (Rydia's favourite name for Fang and Lightning's young son). With a breakfast that literally had something for everyone, the silence and quiet conversation while the humans were eating - which included Seven helping the Fangrai duo feed her nephew - was music to Odin's ears, for the cat ate his favourite wet food in peace while allowing his hoomans eat their breakfast without him bothering them. It was especially important for the oldest Farron to have her coffee with her breakfast, as Lightning without her morning cup of coffee was asking for Ragnarök to make their appearance known, and no one wants to see Lightning without her morning coffee. It was in the afternoon that Potty Mouth Sice (everyone's nickname for the white haired lass, or PMS for short) had to make a key set of errands with Edge, leaving Seven by herself although it was revealed in the conversation that Rydia and her son Cecil were coming to visit the Yun-Farron household. Fortunately for Seven, the silver haired lass had some homework from her classes to finish up, as her white haired wife would have been distracting her to no end if Sice stayed home today.

Regarding Baby Kurasame, he has yet to say his first words and hasn't taken a single step on his own. This worried Lightning even though she has been told by those in the medical field that some aspect for babies take longer than usual which is completely fine, as long as the child is healthy. Lady Luck had to remind the oldest Farron sister that she still had two years left of her PTO (paid time off) to simply enjoy life with her wife and their son. This included when a child speaks their first words and when they take their first steps. It was the Oerban native, who was oddly quiet on this Lazy Sunday, who went to the door as Edge, Rydia and their son arrived - the Eblan native volunteered to take Sice to a very specific shop to help with the white haired lass's assignment for a class in her field of study. In exchange, Rydia and their son Cecil would be watched by the Fangrai duo, Seven and Odin the cat. No words needed to be said outside the loads of times 'thank you' was said by either Seven or Lightning, with Fang's smiling eyes said everything that was needed to be said to the Eblan native. "Hey there Cecil, you handsome kiddo you..." Fang cooed to the young child, who Odin adores just as much as the beloved cat loves his hooman brother Baby Kurasame.

Little did they know that they're going to be witnesses to a major milestone in Baby Kurasame's life so far. Right now, the remaining humans and Odin the cat were continuing the Lazy Sunday in the Yun-Farron household. Rydia, bless her soul, went straight to the spare plate of breakfast food that Sice left in a spot where the green haired lass can get to that Odin could not, with Rydia saying thanks for the hospitality in the form of the gil that was equal to Lightning's annual salary. Upon looking at the money, Rydia mentioned that it was a bet Edge and Fang made a few years before, with the amount having interest added to it, for Edge lost a hilarious bet to Fang in a very

Rydia and Cecil would be in for a real treat that day.

While the Fangrai duo had their friendly trash talk/gossip session with the Mist native (Lightning refers to gossip as friendly trash talk, which was a huge reason why the friendship between Rydia and Lightning is amongst the strongest within and outside the Guardian Corps; Fang simply refers to gossip as just that: gossip), Seven had her hands full with her nephew and Cecil, with Odin the Cat's help of course. If anything, Seven actually wanted to get some experience with looking after a child that isn't her own, because the silver haired lass's biggest dream is to run an orphanage with her wife Sice at her side one day in the future. Fortunately for Seven and the beloved feline, Cecil was one well behaved young lad, who is chipping in with caring for Baby Kurasame while the other three lasses have their friendly trash talk session. It was about thirty minutes into the friendly trash talk that Baby Kurasame, who was in close and clear view of Lightning, Fang and Rydia, somehow and some way, was standing on his own. No way... Sice and Edge left the house to help an assignment for Potty Mouth Sice, and Kurasame is about to start walking... Rydia happily mused to herself while getting the attention of the Fangrai duo, who were equally amazed at what was happening, all of whom were either sporting wide smiles or shedding happy tears.

With Seven's enthusiasm and encouragement, Baby Kurasame took his first steps, with Fang, Seven, Cecil, Lightning, Odin the Cat and Rydia all being witnesses to the most adorable scene they've seen in a very long time. As quick as her namesake, Lightning got her camera working to record proof that Baby Kurasame has, in fact, taken his first steps, to be near his parents of all people! With a smile that lights up any room, Baby Kurasame is having the time of his life now that he can walk, which sped up a bit to mimic one who's running. Upon getting to his parents, Fang, being Fang, gently lifted their son and gave him a congratulatory twirl while happily shouting "Yay! Ya did it, kiddo! Kurasame did it, he can walk and run!" - all the while the other humans were smiling and laughing. Everyone who saw Fang and Lightning's son take his first steps shared similar sentiments. Seven gave her nephew a gentle kiss on his cheek, with her kind violet eyes telling him how proud of her nephew she was at that moment and how proud of him she still is.

"Snaggletooth..." was the very next word said, and it came from Baby Kurasame of all people! "Wait, did you just say 'Snaggletooth', kiddo...?!" Fang questioned, taken aback that her and Lightning's son said something minutes after he took his first steps. Baby Kurasame smiled at the brunette before repeating the word he just said: Snaggletooth. "Mama... Snaggletooth... Mama..." Baby Kurasame kept saying while smiling at one of his mothers.

"Fang... you're his first words... and I love you..." Lightning very happily reveals to her wife while recording the very adorable scene, which Fang was still taken aback by the fact that she was the first words spoken by their son. Seven gave her nephew another gentle kiss on his cheek, which prompted him to say "Auntie Sevsky" with a kiss on her forehead. "Cuteness Overload Alert!" Rydia finally said, which had everyone laughing and smiling, for they knew it was true. It was now close to mid-afternoon that Baby Kurasame wanted to take a nap, with Cecil being more than happy for a nap. It was Seven and Odin who led the Baby Kurasame and Cecil to the former's nursery, which had a bed there for anyone who wanted to take a nap. After making the proper arrangements, the two young lads had their nap, with Odin the Cat very fiercely protecting his hoomans. It was after this that Seven joined the other three for the friendly trash talk, with Lightning snuggling closer to Fang in front people, a first in a few months.

A part of the oldest Farron sister worried that their son wouldn't ever be able to walk and talk despite the sound advice from the proper people in the medical field, but now that Baby Kurasame is just fine, a huge weight came off of Lightning's shoulders with this feat. In response to the PDA, Rydia did something similar with Seven while the latter looked at the footage of her nephew's first steps taken, and first words spoken. With nothing but love in Seven's kind violet eyes, the silver haired lass was beyond grateful that she saw her nephew make an accomplishment that big. Although it was never vocalised, Rydia knew why Baby Kurasame went with Snaggletooth as his first word: it was the one term Seven and Lightning themselves used more often when addressing Fang, which was as recent as this morning, before Rydia showed up with her family. For the Mist native, she often called Fang Snaggletooth when the green haired lass was irate with the brunette, and that was VERY rare - to be more exact, Rydia only used the nickname once for the time she's known Fang.

The screech of tires from Edge's van that signaled his and Sice's return to the Yun-Farron household that had everyone taken back to reality. Sice had a smile on her face that rivaled Baby Kurasame's smile, which signaled a huge success for the assignment the white haired lass had for the day. Upon being told that Cecil is taking a nap with Baby Kurasame, Edge was told that Fang and Lightning's son not only took his first steps but also spoke his first words. It took a while longer for the Eblan native to process what he just heard but the smile on his face spoke volumes of how happy he is to hear such joyous news. It was Seven of all people who showed him the footage with proof of what had happened, which had Edge shedding tears of happiness. "It seems right that Fang's nickname is Kurasame's first word. As a whole, we DO use it more often than we care to admit..." which had everyone laughing at the comment, for they know it to be true.

Today was unforgettable, and for the best reasons.
