Hi everyone,
Here is the next chapter.
This chapter is a little longer than the others. I have taken a lot of the episode dialog but added to it to fit my story. I just love this episode and I think it tied in well with the story. This is split into two chapters worth as I think it was a little long.
Disclaimer: Spoiler alerts to Hawaii Five 0 Season 3 Episode 12. If you haven't watched it, I suggest you watch it before reading this chapter. Also as I have said I have taken dialog from the episode.
Enjoy.

Chapter 35
~~∞∞Ω∞∞~~
Previously: "Did you still want to mate with me?"
~~∞∞Ω∞∞~~
"What!" Danny said sitting up suddenly to look at him properly. "Of course. Why would you ask me that?"
"Well given what has just happened I didn't know if you still did, and we haven't spoken about it since before I went on the mission. All that time apart I thought you might have changed your mind."
"No, Steve I haven't changed my mind. I still want to mate with you. You did get yourself injured while on that mission so of course I didn't bring it up because knowing you, you would try to mate with me in a boot with broken ribs." Danny said which Steve smirked at. "Don't look at me like that you know you would."
"Quite possibly."
"There is no 'quite possibly', it's a definite possibility." Danny said back as Steve just smirked.
"Come on. Let's head home. We can talk more about this tonight after Erik is in bed." Steve said
Steve stood and held out his hand to Danny and helped him to his feet. Danny walked over to his desk and grabbed out his gun from the draw and attaching it to his belt and then grabbing his phone off the table and the bag of clothes beside the desk. Danny walked over to Steve who was waiting outside his office with the door open for him. They headed outside and downstairs to where they had Erik working for the day helping out with filing and general duties in the building, while they were at work.
~~∞∞Ω∞∞~~
It was later in the evening when Steve and Danny were laying in bed. They had cleaned up after a long day and were now relaxing in bed, both reading a book. Steve was listening out to make sure that Erik was asleep before they started their conversation. They didn't want him to overhear something he wasn't meant to.
Steve shut his book and sat it on the bed side table and turned to Danny when he looked at him. Danny shut his book and placed it beside him on his own table and turned back to Steve with a smile. Steve moved in closer and reached a handout to Danny and kissed him softly before pulling back. Danny sighed and moved back in and kissed him again before they pulled apart and Danny stopped Steve from coming back in for another kiss.
"We need to talk about what you thought today in the office." Danny said and Steve sighed. "We do Steve, you know it. You are right we haven't spoken about mating since before you left for that mission. The question is, with Erik here do we need to postpone it? Because I have no idea how it all works."
"Yes, we do. You will change so we need to be alone and the best place to be is out in the rainforest because no one will hear us."
"That is so romantic Steven." Danny said sarcastically. "Very well. I can't leave Erik alone so as soon as I have sorted him and out send him home, we can mate."
Steve chuckled when Danny didn't realise how wrong he would be about the night. They would have to spend a couple of nights in the forest so that he could get a hang on his wolf form and changing to and from so that it wouldn't happen out in the open by accident.
"Well, you never know Daniel."
"Oh, great now you are going to make it your mission to prove me wrong aren't you. There better not be any bullets, guns or cameo involved."
Steve laughed and laid down on the bed properly and pulled Danny into his arms. Danny huffed and relaxed in Steve's arms as he turned the lights off and they settled down to sleep.
~~∞∞Ω∞∞~~
It had been another couple of weeks with Erik in the house and Steve and Danny were at their wits end with Erik's behaviour. They really didn't know what else to do to make him see sense and stop with his attitude. While he hadn't done anything bad enough to be arrested, it was his complete disregard for the law and simple rules that they or his mother may have put down for him to follow.
Steve in the meantime had healed and had his cast and bandages removed and he was almost back to full strength. He still had a couple more physio sessions to attend but he was allowed back in the field, much to Danny's horror because he knew what would happen now that Steve could chase subjects now.
Steve had proven him right the second day he was allowed back in the field. He had chased a subject through busy streets and through windows before finally subduing him on the beach with one of his famous flying tackles that Danny hated him doing. Steve was a little sore that evening but he didn't tell Danny that because he knew he would submit him to the doctor and he may end up being put back on desk duty. He knew it was just that his muscles weren't used to that sort of scenario he had put them through, and he would need to work up to it again.
Today though was going to be different. Steve and Danny droved separately to work with as Steve had an early meeting with the Governor. Erik going with Danny before getting a call to a crime scene at a University. Danny had something he had to do before meeting them all at the crime scene. What Danny was doing was he needed to get the some paperwork filled in so that they could bring Erik with them on this case. He was hoping that this might work into shocking Erik into seeing what his life may become if he didn't smarten up and get his life in order. He just needed these forms filed so that in case anything happened they were covered.
Danny finished filing the form on the computer and sent it off before grabbing his things and walking out to the bullpen where Erik was sitting on a chair on his phone at the entrance to Five-0 as that was as far as he could go for security reasons.
"Erik let's go."
"Where am I going today?"
"With me. Let's go."
"Uncle D-Danny, you are going to a crime scene."
"Yes, and you will be following us for the day. You will be quiet and behave." Danny said as they entered the elevator and headed down to the ground level.
"Really Uncle Danny, that's so boring."
"Life is not always fun Erik. Do you think Steve found the last three, four weeks fun? He was bored out of his mind doing all that paperwork that he did. A lot of the times in your life you will have to do things you find boring or don't want to do. You just have to suck it up."
"Wow nice pep talk."
"Shut up and get in the car." Danny said as he opened the door.
~~∞∞Ω∞∞~~
Danny was standing waiting for Steve to arrive as he watched Max remove body parts from the container. It absolutely stank and Danny was trying really hard to not throw up. Danny looked up as Steve walked into the room.
"Hey. Whew. Max got an I.D yet?"
"No, he's still fishing out body parts. I think he's enjoying it, too." Danny said and looked behind him at movement to see Erik walk over to them.
"I can't believe that was a person. Crispy."
"Um, I told you I was bring him along with me today. Here he is."
"What's up bro?" Erik said trying to be cool in front of everyone.
"Enough. Please go wait in the car like I asked you to, okay?"
"Can I at least have the keys? You didn't even crack a window."
"Then wait outside. Anywhere but my crime scene. Okay? Please."
"Come on." Erik said thinking that Danny would let him have the keys to the car.
"Don't look at me like that, just go." Danny said, annoyed and at the end of his rope with Erik's behaviour, especially when he scoffs at Danny before turning and leaving.
"Yo, how you doin', sweetheart?"
Danny just wanted to shoot himself in the head right now as he really just didn't see an end to Erik's behaviour and making him a respectable member of society. Danny sighed as he turned to look back at Steve.
"Okay, so your nephew visits from Jersey, and you, uh, bring him on a homicide call?" Steve said trying to lighten the mood as he could see Danny was almost at his wits end.
"That's… yep." Danny started to say but gave up.
"Okay. Just a hunch but do you think he would've enjoyed anything else other than a homicide call?"
"Nothing else is working so this is my last resort to try and scare some sense into him."
"How's that working out?"
"He just saw his first dead body and he's still acting like a complete idiot, so I guess I have my work cut out for me."
"Right. What do we know?" Steve asked changing the subject and working out what they knew of this crime scene.
Steve and Danny went through the crime scene with what they already knew from techs and what the faculty had told them, trying to come back to a theory. Chin brought in some more information on the lab gear that was found three blocks away and how many people had access to the building. Steve and Danny then decide to see the Chairman of the department to find out some more information about the victim before heading back to the office.
"This is where you work?" Erik asked as he came in a different entrance and got to see the rest of the bullpen.
"Yeah"
"Not bad. Oh, bitchin' computer." Erik said as he started moving things around on the screen.
"No, hey…"
"You got Minesweeper on this thing?"
"Ho, ho, hey. Stop. Stop. Stop. Please. Go wait in my office, okay?"
"What am I supposed to do in there?" Erik said with a whine.
"I don't know. Why don't you go meditate on the poor life decisions you have made, maybe think about how you can turn it all around. Please."
"(scoffs) Okay."
Steve was standing there with a small smirk on his face as Erik walked around behind him to got to Danny's office. Steve started bringing up some information as Danny started talking again.
"It's like, uh, house-training a puppy. I mean, the kid has zero impulse control."
"Guys, I got a voice mail you need to hear. This came through on Professor Cutler's cell phone two days ago.
"You can't do this to me. If you keep ignoring me, there will be consequences." The voice on the recording said.
"As far as threats go, that's not subtle."
"We identify the caller?"
"Yeah, number came back to a Rebecca Fine. She's a senior in Cutler's advanced chem class." Chin said as he brought up the details from the phone number and photo.
"Five foot two, brown hair, brown eyes. Matches the description of the student leaving the professors office in tears."
"Mm-hmm, and she had access to the lab. According to Cutler's teaching assistant, he had been spending a lot of late hours there."
"Okay, okay, let me take a stab at this. So, Cutler is getting cute with, uh, young Rebecca here. Uh, they're using the lab for, um, late-night hook-ups. Relationship goes south, he tries to end it and Rebecca kills him.
"I like it. Let's see what Rebecca's got to say about it." Steve says as Chin pulls out his phone and suddenly starts laughing
"Now-now this. Now, this is the best thing I've ever seen." Chin says and looks to Danny.
"What?"
"Thankyou."
"What is it?" Steve asks as he starts to lean towards Chin's phone.
"Oh it's our own Danny Williams. As Mr November in the 1998 Newark Policy Academy Calendar."
Steve let out an oh as he saw the phone when Chin turned the phone so they could see.
"Look at you, buddy." Steve said really liking that photo.
"I was young, this was for charity." Danny replied as he took Chin's phone and Steve's phone pings. "Where did you get this?"
"Uh, I believe you just emailed it to me." Chin replied confused.
"No I didn't."
"Yeah you just emailed it to me, too. And, it looks like you emailed it to everyone in your address book." Steve said as he turned his phone around to show Danny.
Danny lets out a huff as he looks towards his office before tossing Chin's phone on computer table and walks to his office as Steve and Chin laugh. Steve quickly saves a copy of the photo to his phone already having plans to make a physical copy of it.
~~∞∞Ω∞∞~~
Danny walked angrily over to his office before almost slamming the door open. He would have if it wasn't made of glass and could slam open and shut.
"Get up. Stand up, stand up. Do you think that is funny? You know Grace is on that email."
"Oh… my bad man, I know how scarring it can be for a kid to see that photo. Your calendar hung in our kitchen for years. Mom thought it was the biggest deal when you became a cop."
"Oh, that's good. Well, at least somebody in the family is making her proud, right?"
"That's low dude." Erik said
"Oh, it's low? Suck it up, okay? While you are - Look at my when I'm talking to you – while you are here, you are going to be living it what is called the real world. That means, you act like an idiot, I am going to call you out. Now, you can go back to New Jersey, and continue to waste away your life. Or you can stay here and you can maybe learn something. It's your choice. Steve and I have been very patience with you, but you are wearing our patience's thin. Please know, please know that unlike your mother, I am not a pushover, okay? You pull another stunt like that again, and I am not going to be as courteous as I am being right now, you dig?"
"Yeah."
"You ready?" Steve asks as he comes over and opens the door.
"Let's go, I got a case to work. Let's go. You're gonna like this, I promise." Danny said and waved Erik along.
~~∞∞Ω∞∞~~
Danny and Steve pulled up at the sorority house and parked the car and waited for Erik to get out. Danny walked over to Steve as they headed inside. Erik followed behind then as he took a look around at the girls in the house.
"I need to rethink my decision to skip college.
"Easy, there, tiger." Danny said before watching Steve go over to speak to one of the girls.
"Kelly, your dads are here to pick you up." She says.
Steve looks to Danny in shock that at what she had just said. Danny on the other hand had a little smile on his face at the comment and the look on Steve's face.
"Those aren't my dad's." Another girl said as she joined the first.
"I'm sorry. You think I look old enough to be her father?" Steve said slightly insulted.
"That's the… that's the part you bumped on?" Danny said and received a look from Steve that said he wasn't impressed with Danny's commentary.
"You were right. This is definitely worth coming for." Erik said amused at what was happening in front of him.
"Okay, excuse me." Steve says, having enough of the commentary going on unclips his badge and holds it up to the girls. "We're looking for Rebecca Fine. Is she here?"
"Yeah. Becky's room's upstairs. Second door on the right." The first girl says.
"All right, thankyou."
"Come on." Danny says to Erik.
"You guys go ahead, I don't want to… get in your way."
"Okay. Behave yourself, please." Danny says with a knowing smile before following Steve and hears Erik behind him.
"Yup." He said before looking to a girl walking past. "How you doing, baby doll? What's going on?"
Danny sighed and shook his head as he followed Steve upstairs to find Rebecca Fine. Steve looked at Steve as he got to the top of the stairs.
"Well, that was interesting."
"What?"
"Your reaction to that girl who said you were a father."
"What do you mean?"
"You almost freaked at the thought that the young lady could be your daughter."
"Can you blame me? I would have had to be in just out of high school for her to be my daughter."
"It was an innocent mistake." Danny said with amusement.
"It felt rather insulting to me. I'm 35 which would mean I would have been a father at 17."
Steve turned the corner and they arrived at the door to Rebecca Fine's room. Steve reaches out and knocks on the door prompting an angry reply.
"Go away!"
"Rebecca, this is Commander McGarrett of Five-0. Open the door."
"One second. I'm just getting changed." She replies before they both hear the door lock.
"You buying that?" Danny asked.
"No." Steve says before kicking the door open and they enter guns drawn.
"Window." Danny calls out.
"Rebecca, stop!" Steve yells out as he looks outside the window and sees her riding off on her scooter.
~~∞∞Ω∞∞~~
Danny and Steve had raced downstairs and to the car dragging Erik away from his talk with one of the girls in the house. Erik hadn't been happy about leaving but quickly followed after them and climbed into the back of the car when he realised something exciting might actually be happening. Steve quickly pulled out of the driveway and out in the direction that Rebecca had gone before they finally found Rebecca travelling slowly on her scooter along the road.
"Well, this is definitely a first. How do you want to play it?"
"Shoot her tyres out." Erik offered excitedly.
"You don't get a vote." Danny said back to Erik as Steve pulled the car up alongside Rebecca. "Rebecca, pull over."
"No."
"Please?"
"No!" Rebecca said as Danny sighed and rolled his window back up.
"Okay, that didn't work."
Steve smirks and speeds up and pulls in front of her causing Rebecca to try and break in time but ended up crashing into the front of the car. Steve and Danny quickly get out and Danny gets the cuffs on Rebecca before they sit her down on the grass while they wait for HPD to show up to transport her to the palace for questioning.
"Well, that was definitely interesting. First time having to chase someone on a scooter. Not exactly sure how far she thought she would have gotten. Though I could have done without the new dents to the car, Steven."
"Hey, we got her didn't we. You didn't want to shoot her tires out like Erik said so that was the next best option." Steve said with a smirk. "Besides it's not that bad."
"Not that bad, not that bad! Steven there is a dent in the side of my car, and it's also scratched. Not that bad he says." Danny said as he walked away from Steve shaking his head towards the HPD cruiser that had just pulled up.
Danny spoke with them for a minute telling them that they needed her transported to the palace and down to rendition. He and Steve would be there not long after they took her away. Danny walked back over with the officers before they escorted Rebecca back to their cruiser and to the palace. Another squad car had arrived to collect the scooter and take it to impound for her to pick up if and when she was released.
"Ready to go?" Steve asked.
"Yeah."
