A/N: This is the follow up to the last story, where Celes, Palom & Leonora (this is a pairing confirmation for the collection) are told about Kurasame. Pairing focuses remaing the same. Length of this story is short on purpose. Lack of dialogue is intentional.
Why Celes is the Best
Leonora and Palom, a very happily married couple who have been struggling to start a family for years, made themselves at the Yun-Farron household with Celes (Terra was out and about with 'people' - Lyse's words - to get stuff for Relm), with the married couple having to take off their shoes (the main rule for entering their house; there was a incident some time about where some random dipshidiot tried to take off with the shoes that were in a box outside the front door of the Yun-Farron household, only for one Claire 'Lightning' Yun-Farron to scare the wannabe robber shitless by having her beloved gunblade in rifle form) without any of the Farron sisters having to remind them about the very rule. Odin, being the lovable cat that he is, made himself at home by getting on Leonora's lap and purr his feline arse off while sneaking off yet another nap. It was a few minutes later that Lightning emerged from seemingly out of nowhere, Kurasame being a short distance behind her. Mother and son have met both Palom and Leonora, with the former being the one where Kurasame was learning how to be a wise-cracker with serious twist, something Fang finds amusing. As for the Sebusai couple, the jury is out with those two, according to the giant oaf aka Snow Villiers.
After exchanging pleasantries over tea - Leonora doesn't drink any alcohol due to a medical condition, with that inspiring Palom to not pick up any booze as a means to support his soulmate - Leonora asks Lightning about Kurasame, considering that Lightning and Fang are a same sex couple and if they were able to start a family of their own through unorthodox means, then it would give them hope about finding a way to start a family. With the encouragement from Celes being always present, Lightning began on how she and Fang met the 'sperm donor' Kurasame, who their son is named after - it was during the Fangrai couple's time at Akademia that the Sebusai couple were at as students in the past. In their time teaching at Akademia, Kurasame was the one who went to bat for the Fangrai couple at the school as some of the faculty and staff clearly showed signs of being homophobic towards anyone, regardless if they're students or not. It was because of Kurasame that things changed at Akademia for the better, which included a major shuffle of the staff to help improve the overall environment in the entire campus, which wound up being music to each and every ear of those in Class Zero. Thanks to him, he immediately came to the Fangrai couple about helping them start a family. They were sisters to him.
It was when the Fangrai couple got married that they, both Fang and Lightning remembered that Kurasame wanted to help them start a family that they talked about, this all being told by Celes to both Palom and Leonora, with Lightning's okay because parts of the story were far too difficult for her to tell herself without breaking down, the entire story Celes was in full knowledge of and was given the okay to tell the story by the oldest Farron sister. The married couple gave the Vector native their undivided attention, as Celes knew how to tell stories like this in a way where people were beyond appreciative of the information after she told whatever story. This is why Lightning trusts Celes with her life and personal stories of the matter. "Celes, you're the best..." was all Lightning could say once the entire story of the IVF treatments (due to Lightning having issues on being fertile at the time) and Kurasame's fulfilled promise to help his found sisters Lightning and Fang start their family. He cried tears of joy when their son was born, a very healthy baby boy who was named after him. Of course, the oldest Farron sister chimed in whenever her input was needed on the matter. The realm of IVF, in the minds of both Palom and Leonora, gave the married couple hope that they will find a way to ensure they will have the family they've always wanted for so long.
Even Palom's twin sister, Porom, has had struggles with starting a family with Hope, before that pair agreed with being child free for now, until further results for the pair are conclusive as the results they've had so far showed varying inconsistencies, which has been raising suspicions for them and those around them (especially Sice, Maria & Leon of all people). Their pit bulls and orange tabby cats are their kids, with those fur babies being spoiled like the kings and queens they are. When it was all said and done, Palom gave Lightning a fist bump because a friend of Porom's is a friend of his, and he snuck something into one of Celes' pockets, which Leonora followed suit with Celes, but for the pinkette, Leonora 'chucked' a coin in her direction - the very coin that Lightning had her eye on for some time. Lightning's smiling eyes was all the thanks Leonora wanted, for she knew the Bodhum native wasn't good with words. A few weeks later, Palom and Leonora made the arrangements to get started on IVF treatments, with Celes being there with them for each appointment, sometimes seeing Terra and/or Relm with them. Palom and Leonora smiled at their new friends (Leonora's term), or mates (everyone else's terms for friends). Terra knew of Palom and Leonora, so she was completely fine with Celes helping them out.
Following the Fangrai couple's lead some time back, Leonora was successful in getting pregnant a few months after starting the IVF treatments. Fang was very pleased.
In the end, this was one more reason why Celes is the best.
Celes is loyal to those she loves for life.
FIN
A/N #2: The next story is back in the Paying it Forward universe... and it's a doozy of Citra having some choice words, and a rather crazy action of sorts from Lasswell and Snow, for the homophobes in the Sebusai couple's presence!
